I am hoping someone out there can help me--
Imogen (10mths) has a lovely going to bed routine- it works fantasticly no tears just sleep!
However-- the problems begin at about 1230am--- she wakes wont go back to sleep with out being held, wakes at 130- same procedure, and then on and on about every hour until anout 6ish when she crashes out and sleeps until 8:15ish!!! (when I need to wake her for daycare)
I don't know what to do- i end up in tears each night due to pure frustration (and a little sleep deprivation)
I have tried- bottles-
*top up feeds over night
*Warmer bed clothes
*leaving static radio on
*bigger dinner meals so she stays full
*co-sleeping
nothing seems to be working- I am going insane...
please tell me someone out there knows what to do to fix this issue

first let me say i'm no expert! i so feel for you - ozzy is a little younger but does this quite often too. it's exhausting and draining on everybody. :hugs:
i figure you don't want to go the controlled crying/comforting route as you haven't listed that but it might be something worth trying out of desperation? if you can't bear to do it maybe you could get your partner/mum/friend or someone to be there and do it for you while you spend the night elsewhere (or in a different room as far from hers as possible with a pillow over you ears?)
have you tried keeping her up a bit later every night so she's going down late? i tried ozzy on a nap at 6pm til about 7.30 then up for a couple of hours (feed bath book bottle bed) and he slept until later in the morning (about 5am instead of 3.30 perky!) it worked for a couple of weeks and he has seems to have naturally progressed to a better sleeping pattern from there.
i really don't know what else to suggest but i know you've asked in the right place - the bubhub mums rock :) best of luck!

Thanks for the reply ozzy's mum! I have tried controlled comforting- that is how we managed to get the nice going to bed routine! It worked really well and relatively quickly too.
Unfortunately when I tried it over night it ended in huge crying fits that would only be fixed by getting her up- and holding her (cradeled) until she calmed enough to go back to sleep-- and i think I have just been to scared to try it again! :crying:
I think this weekend will be crunch time- and as much as I am not a huge fan of C/C for my bub- I think its time! I am just finding that by the 4-5th time up- I am starting to get cranky and while I know rationally I wouldn't hurt her- I would hate to do something in a temper (IYKWIM- please don't think I'll beat her, but I just don't want to risk it.):( I don't know- I am going slowly insane!

Hi
Can i suggest ringing Karitane Helpline, they are great support and can help with sleep issues,
They have controlled comforting. Which i found great, plus if its really bad they have sleep clinics where you can go for a residental stay while the help you sort out Bubs.
Good luck!
