Hi ony Sunday night my dd came home from my parents and started saying she had a sore genital region. I could see no rash and when she sat on the toilet I asked if it hurt when she was weeing and she said "no".
Sometimes when she is on the toilet I see her playing with herself and that causes her to go all red and look sore.
And now she is not sleeping at night and tries to scratch it to make it all better which I have to struggle to stop her and once i get into a deep sleep it doesn't seem to bother her.
Any ideas? Also I want to take her to the doctors but am afraid DOCS will come and take her away.
Thanks in advance
Jess

Hun dont with hold her from the Doctor in case of DOCS..
thats way worse.
She may have scratched it and now it hurts or she could even have an small infection.
Take her the doctor.
DD often gets red there from wiping way too hard with the paper. It scratches and we use a mild nappy rash cream.

It could be thrush or a uti. The cause could have been something as simple as a different soap in the bath. Take her to the doctor, please don't worry about DOCS.

something similar has happened to my DD, we figured out that it was from the IL's constantly feeding her drinks of Juices instead of water! her little body wasnt used to it, it took 2 days to get back to normal.

That makes sense cause mum and dad feed her watered coke :hair::banghead: and that's what we put it down to but since that was sunday and it came back last night i am confused cause we only let her drink water.
Also her father feeds her acidic drinks and she comes back fine.
Think I'll just ring the doctors. thanks guys just don't want to lose my angel cause i know how DOCS are really good at screwing up. I can't afford the stress right now.

goodluck at the doctors, its probably something easily fixed, i have also caught my IL's giving DD sips of pepsi and coffee, so who knows what they do when us parents aren't around!!:hair:

My daughter used to play with her vagina until it was red and sore too.
I'd say it's probably just a normal part of exploration, and tbh, avoiding the doctors isn't going to get DOCS onto you... if anything, her vagina might get worse and then you'd HAVE to take her to the doctor... and they might be suss as to why you waited so long.
Not that it's likely, but you know, it's better to get it checked and fixed sooner rather than later.
I tell Chanel not to touch hers or else it'll get sick.
Does she use the toilet or wear wet nappies a lot? It could just be irration from the urine. DD gets a sore vagina every now and then, and it's often because she hasn't wiped herself properly (but god forbid I try wipe it for her!).

Sugary drinks will probably be the culprit. Keep up with lots of water to help flush out her system and get her checked at the doctor just in case.

My daughter use to get thrush regularly, especially after antibiotics. My other daughter also has had a few urinry track infections. The doctors wont call DOCS on you for taking your child for medical attention, the only reason they would do that is if they believe she has been interfered with in some way. The know children explore and play with there parts, and they also know what medications your child will need to fix her if she has thrush or a UTI.
Its better to get her seen to now, before whatever she has gets worse.
I have not been reported to DOCS for taking my kids to doctor with sore wee wee's.

It could also be worms! with little girls the worms can get into the vagina and make it sore would also explain the itching.
I agree with the others better to get it checked now and have it fixed quick smart than leave and find it gets worse.
My almost 2 yr old DD is TT too and I find that now we don't have nappies on her hands are often down there so she may have just scratched herself with a long or sharp fingernail!
good luck at the doctors

Thanks everyone
Have an appointment at 2 this arvo so will have an answer then. Was jsut worried about DOCS cause it originally happened at my parents and when you think about it, it sounds suss but we know that nothing would have happened
My DD1 wakes at night sometimes screaming with a sore vagina. After much trial and error, creams for thrush and doc visits I worked out it was realated to preservatives and additives. She rarely has anything with them in it, but we know when she has (brithday parties etc) as she has a couple of bad nights before it all settles down again.
Hope the visit to the doctors goes well. I found they just scratched their heads at DD1.

Well the doc has no idea thinks it may be worms so we are gonna treat for that and see how she goes if not back to the docs.
Thanks everyone for the advice :)
