Being relatively new to the GC we feel we haven't gotten out and seen alot of it.
Can anyone recommend anything to do here. We have 2 young children and have done the worlds but are looking for other fun family stuff to see and do.
Cheers!
Ummm...
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is quite good!
The Markets at Burleigh and Broady are quite good, think they might be at Currumbin sometimes too.
Q1- maybe not as fun for the kids but its lovely up there on a nice day!
Travel to Brissy and go to Southbank, there is a manmade lagoon there, lovely to have a swim!
Mt Tamborine is nice, we sometimes head up there for a drive and walk about the town. A friend of mine had lunch there one day at a pub on the way up, it had entertainment and stuff- DI- if you see this can you remember that place where you went for lunch and Aleah loved it???
I know you have done the worlds, but we have an Annual pass for Wet and Wild, lovely on those warm days!
Hope these few things help!

Is it Eagle Heights Hotel your thinking of? If so its well worth a trip up the mountain. So much open space for the kids to run around and they always have the live music happening on weekends, great cheap meals.. a good day out
I dont know how old your kiddies are but some of the things we take the boys to are:
Mini golf - there's a great one in Mermaid waters or heaps in Surfers to chose from
Bowling - the surfers one is great because they have all the fluro lights happening.
Buts its good not to have to spend $$$ all the time so places like The Spit are great for a family picnic by the beach, and you can either be right on the sand or head to the grass area where there's lots of room for ball games.
Currumbin rock pools are awesome on a hot day
Rosser park is beautiful - its botanical gardens with a great walk around the ponds and lots of little creatures to see, we always end up at the playground there.
Another great spot is just past the Labrador broadwater, by Charis Seafood. There's a great playground and a pool enclosure built on the shore of the beach. Beautiful spot
Its always good to get out on the water, hire a boat and go check out the islands, wavebreak, straddie etc. Or cheapa again you can get to staddie on a ferry and spend a day exploring.
A great mag to read is "Gold Coast Lifestyle" or "Living", they both always have write ups on local events :)

Yeah it's the one at eagle heights. Yeah like Mel said good meals and live music. Aleah was up dancing. So cute. Also the play centres. We went to one this morning Arbakadazzle at southport. First time we went. And cheapest one I have been to. It was $5 for Aleah and casue Olivia is under 1 she is free. I thought it pretty good set up. Easy to see you kids in most places. My kids loved it. I will probably make it a friday thing and catch up with a friend there. Also it's open everyday 9 till 5. Oh and they do cool activities like dance classes too.

We have been to Arbrakadazzle and my 4 year old loved it, living in Ormeau makes it a bit far to drive sometimes but maybe we will get back there one day - thanks for the suggestion.

If you go to Labrador broadwater, by Charis Seafood as sassy diva suggested then make sure you travel a bit further north and check out Paradise Point too. Along the esplanade there are three childrens parks (good ones too) a shark proof swimming area, beach, lots of grassy areas and cafe's and ice cream shops over the road.
Also definitely check out the Southport Sharks Club on the cnr of Olsen Ave and Musgrave Ave. They are a very child friendly club with a kids room that has attendants and for $3 you can leave your kids in the room for an hour (fully supervised by lovely ladies) and head to the bar for a drink or just relax in the lounge. The meals are really good and cheap too.
We are also new to GC and have no babysitter to hand so this has been our lifeline to give us couple time together for an hour or so every now and then.
