He was my bubs paed. at the birth, and we have seen him a few of times since. He is really lovely, and really helpful. I can only say good things about him.

Oh that is good to know. Did your bub have any problems that you needed to see him about? I'm taking my little one for reflux and faltering growth. :barf:

My son had a double hernia op at 5 weeks and Dr Parker checked his recovery. And we have also seen him for silent reflux.
Good luck, I hope you get you bubbas reflux sorted. Its hard work I know.

I have seen him for DD2's reflux and slow weight gain. He's good. Very friendly and easy to talk to. We've got another appointment on Tuesday to discuss delayed development issues.

Oh Monkeytoes, that is good to know. What did he do for your little one - investigations/suggestions/medications etc? PM me if you prefer not to post all the sordid details!!

DS2 is 10 months old and has been taking losec since he was tiny. He used to be a huge comfort feeder and gained heaps of weight. Then he started solids and really disliked them, he eats very little solid food before he cries and won't have any more, he still likes his breastfeeds but hasn't gained any weight for about 3 months. I'm sure he has a pain somewhere because when I give him nurofen at night he sleeps soooooo much better, otherwise he's up every hour at least.

How is your DD going now? As an interesting aside, I thought DS had developmental problems, he wasn't rolling over by 8 months, wasn't doing well with solids, no language development, just the aaaahhh sound. I had stopped the losec but when I restarted it, he made huge gains in the following month. Now he's crawling around and is a little more responsive to sounds but is having speech therapy. I don't know if this might be related to your DD but just thought I'd mention it as they can't possibly develop well when they are in pain.

WOW..........I could have written this. DD is almost 9 months and isn't rolling, not doing well with solids, language development is lacking (just ooohhh and aaahhh sounds only).
The problem with my DD is that she is such a happy baby and rarely cries which is great, but I suspect she is in pain but just doesn't let me know. It's like she has just learnt to deal with it, and that she doesn't know what it feels like to not be in pain IYKWIM.

I suspected she had reflux from 8 weeks old, but when I discussed my concerns with the CHN, Lactation consultant and GP they all dismissed reflux:(. It was only when the GP referred us to Dr Parker to investigate FTT that he diagnosed reflux and put her on Losec (at 6 months). I stopped the Losec a few weeks ago cos it didn;t seem to be making any difference and it was getting harder to get it into her. Instead I have been trying to work out what foods trigger it, but I'm not even sure when she is suffering. The only way for me to know when she's suffering is when starves herself. She just refuses all food and milk. Maybe I should start her on Losec again:confused:.

Well, I'll be seeing Dr Parker on Tuesday. I'll PM you and let you know what he says. Very interesting that our bubs sounds quite similar.
