Hi all, hoping someone out there can help me find a recipe that I once got out of a woolies catalogue. I think it was called a burrito bake?
It was for a lasagna style dish but was made with borrito's in place of pasta sheets and i am fairly sure it had:
burrito rounds,
mince,
salsa,
taco seasoning,
frozen spinach
&cheese
but for the life of me I cannot find th recipe to make sure and check what quantities i need  We have been wanting to make it for awhile and i have looked everywhere to no avail.
So fingers crossed someone here can help me out...it is driving me insane because i used to make it all the time but cant remember the recipe for it:doh:
Otherwise i will just experiment and see what i can come up with.
TIA

I cant help you but its sounds delicious. I'm a bit of a cooker so I would just make what I thought was there and see what it was like. I can imagine up recipes tho. Can you make the burittos and the sauce and give it a go?

It is really yummy!! I would often whip it up as it was quite quick and easy too. I think where i have gone wrong with trying to remember it is that i used to do it a couple of different ways and now i can remember what i used for which one! haha.
I think I might give it a try during the week and see how it go's.
I am a shocker-I love cooking but have a terrible memory for remember how much to use etc:o
I THINK that the original recipe was something along the lines of :
500g mince, browned and done in taco mix as directions of taco seasoning, then in a casserole dish (or large pie dish ) alternate a layer of mince mix, sprinkle with the chopped spinach then some salsa (large jar) then a burrito/tortilla round and continue then top the last round with extra salsa and cheese and bake until golden.
but I have a feeling that they may be something that I am forgetting-maybe something added to the mince mix?
I have tried it once lately but instead of layering the ingredients i made the mince mix and spinich up into burritos then in a dish covered them with salsa and topped with cheese then grilled and served topped with sour cream and guacamole on the side-not bad.
But still think that i have forgotten something or not got the quantities right ...
hmmm will have to keep experimenting

Well it sounds delicious!! I might even have a play around and give it a try! I'll let you know what I come up with! Two minds are better than one:laughing: I've never made anything like it but I love burritos and i love lasagne how perfect! MMMMM i can taste it already. Have you tried emailing woolies? I know they have a website you could see if they have it on there???
