Hi i have a baby girl who is 14weeks and weight 7.1kgs. She is only 59cm which means shes on the 90th% line for weight and 50% for height.
Im super paranoid that shes too big! Can anyone help? Shes on formula because i ran out of milk (which im not happy about) and i want to know if other formula fed babies are this big and will the weight some off? Help

My DD is 4 months old...she is 8.5kgs and about 64cms.

She is bottle fed.

My son was bigger too...however I found once he started crawling he thinned out a bit and then once he started walking he lost a lot of his chubbyness, well, he is now nearly 4 and weighs 17kgs...which is what most of his friends do and he is far from fat.

As long as you are feeding what they need...they stop sucking on the bottle when they are full....then don't worry about it.

My DD is 14-weeks today and I weighed her about a week or so ago and she was 5.2kg, she is around 50% for her weight, not sure about her length. She is formula fed (since 6-weeks old) but was a small bub (2.64kg at birth).

And I agree, bubs will stop sucking the bottle when full, sometimes my DD doesn't finish hers (she averages between 150-200ml per feed, sometimes less.

so how often do you feed bubs then, My bubby is having 120-140mls every 3hrs or every 5hrs at night..

my DD is fully breastfed and weighed about 6kg at 14 weeks....travelling on about 55% percentile

Dont stress there are so many shades of normal, my daughter is 7 and a half months now and has been well above the 97% since 2 weeks old
at 12wks she was weight 7.2kg length 64cm
at 4mths she was weight 8.3kg length 68cm
at 6mths she was weight 10kg length 72cm

she is in size 1 and 2

she has just started crawling and has slimmed down a heap already, cant wait til her 8mth weight in hopefully we have come back to the graph!!!!

oh and she is bottle fed soy formula

I agree that there is a huge range of what is 'normal'. My DD is fully breastfed and she weighed almost exactly the same as your DD: 7.05kg. She was 66cm long.

so how often do you feed bubs then, My bubby is having 120-140mls every 3hrs or every 5hrs at night..

Depends on the day, however most times DD feeds 5-6 times in a 24hr period (averaging every 3-4 hrs, she has a long sleep at night 5-6hrs+).

thanks guys it makes me feel a bit better :) i lve her no matter what, im just sick of everyone else commenting on how "fat" she looks.. its depressing, its not like u can put a 3.5month old on a diet!! and i couldnt breastfeed anymore! ahh well society needs to learn to keep there thoughts to themselves, i dont think they realise how much a little comment can affect someone else yeh

My boy is 16 weeks today and also hit 9 kg today. He is a big bubba (both weight and length off the charts - above the 99th percentile line).

THe nurse said it does not matter so long as they are measuring consistently.... being big is no concern, but being at the 90th percentile and then dropping down to the 50th would be. I hope that makes sense?

He is breastfed.

My daughter is 3 and a half months and she is on the 95th percentile for height (63cm) and just off the chart for weight (7.2kg) She was 4kg when she was born. She has been on formula for ages.
I do get annoyed when people say she is 'soooo chubby' or 'soooo big' but better to be big and healthy than skinny and unhealthy!:p
