My 7 month old always had a bit of reflux when he was a newborn but lately he's been bringing up the contents of his entire bottle in certain circumstances which I believe we have under control if we avoid certain things.

Anyway, I've recently started cc so he gets out of the habit of falling asleep on the bottle. However, one of the things that makes him vomit is excessive crying which cc obviously brings on! Therefore he vomits most times i do cc. He then rolls in it and I have to clean him, change his clothes and the cot sheets! It still happens when I wait an hour after his last bottle.

Is cc just not suited to a spewy baby or is there an answer?

I'm not one for CC, but how long do you leave him cry for? From my understanding you should leave them cry for 2 minutes and then go back in to resettle, maybe you are leaving him to long and he is getting worked up and vomitting.:(

Have you looked at different ways to resettle? There are some great books out there that don't use cc and you get some great results too.

:iagree: Perhaps look into some no cry sleep solutions? I know this is a pro-cc area, but if you are finding it difficult to cc your bub, there are other options out there.

hi there.

i did cc my bub and it worked really well for us.
what i did that you could try is tilt bubs mattress or bed up on an angle.
either put a brick under the legs at the head of the cot or get a big thick blanket folded over like a big wedge and put it under the mattress at the head to tilt it up. that usually makes a huge difference for reflux and spewy bubs.

also grab a sleep wedge/cushion and see if you can get bub to stay in that (the move around a bit more at this age) but you can then have him a little on his side so if he vomits it is a little cleaner for him and easier for you to clean up too, also place a cloth nappy or a towel under his head so you only need to change that if he does vomit.

keep up the 2 mins off cc but making sure he is calm when you actually put him down, work up to 5 mins over a couple of weeks.
i hope this helps.

good luck.
