Hi guys, i'm a newbie on this site and have been lurking around the TTC pages tonite...
Just wondering .. did many of you have difficulty deciding whether to go with IVF etc?
Hubby and I had our first appt with Repromed today and were told IVF would be most likely and that we would need to have some idea if we wanted to go ahead with it or not by the time of our six week appointment for test results.

We really didn't expect to be told this on our first appointment.
We also didn't really expect this at all and we had not considered that this would have to be an option.
We have really want to fall pregnant "naturally" so to speak and we are very confused (so much so that we are hitting the road tomorrow - just to get away).

Sorry this is so long, i guess we are just hoping for some advice from someone who may have already been there, done that.
(ps. coz we're hitting the road tomorrow, i won't be back until the weekend at the earliest but will be here tonight for a while)
(pps. thanks in advance)

Hi again,
Just wanted to let you all know that we got back from our couple of days away with much clearer heads!

Obviously the question I posed is quite personal and a personal decision - I guess that's why there are no responses.

Anyway, we have decided what we want, for the time being.

Hope to speak to you in other posts,
thanks

Hi Tansy,

I am glad that you sorted out what you want. I had not seen your post but would have said:-

Depending on how long you have been trying to conceive, and your age, it may be worth going down the IVF route as diagnostic route.

We went to Sydney IVF and had a variety of test on both of us. Nothing obvious was found and we were about to start the first cycle when a natural pregnancy occurred.

It is of course a very personal decision and a lot of women I know who went through IVF procedures found it incredibly stressful (naturally enough)

Thanks Maria,
We have pretty much decided to use the IVF/Fertility Clinic for diagnostics, it's only been a year (just) however my ob.gyn referred us becasue I have endo.

We just got a bit of a shock when the clinic dr said IVF would be the most appropriate after only the first appointment!

We are both having tests before our next appt and are looking to go down the most "natural" road possible, so I guess it's time for me to start charting and all that good stuff!!!

thanks for your opinion :)
