So I have been really struggling to get Mr Spencer (17months) to eat dinner and warm food.
So i had a brain storm, PIZZA!!!! it has a few things he likes and i can put on a few others to make it more healthy. so here is what i did
Mountain bread (rye) then sliced tomato (Spencer loved tomatos) the chopped red capsicum, diced and trim bacon and ham (to boost the amout of meat spencer eats) pineapple and cheese... And well he loved it and finally tonight he ate dinner/...
So what do you think GOOD or BAD...
The Ham was salt reduces and gulten free
The Bacon was organic
Pineapple in juice
no tomato paste.
I no this is not an everyday food but it is ok

my kids (and dp..one of the fussiest) love mini pizzas...
Wholemeal english muffin thingy with tomato paste topped with peeled butternut pumpkin (really thin sliced - use vege peeler) and feta cheese. yum
aslong as there are plenty of veg its great!
finger food is great!

Seriously when you are using say your own homemade base or the likes you speak of with lots of various vegies etc it can easily be every day food !
Very good
Anything that doesnt contain large amounts of things like sugar & salt but also is well balanced is healthy iykwim.
You could also do an anti-pizza ;) plate for him with all the toppings for him to munch on .... A mum I met on another forum does something like this for her kids & its called ' Muffin tin Monday ! ' .... She fills each section of the muffin tin with various fruit, vegies, snacks & lets the kids go wild !
The boys love it here although there tends to be fights cause Boof doesnt like sharing with his little brother so they have separate tins lol !

Yeah i do the muffin tray thing too, but when it is like that he wont touch the the same foods...
He will munch on frozen carrots all day long, as soon as i put them on a plate in his high chair they become this crazy yucky food.

Sounds pretty healthy to me.
I actually bought a cookbook the other day with all the different things you can do with mountain bread. Some of the stuff looks sooo yummy.
the pizza idea is a great way to get lots of healthy stuff in  i've done this before as well
my DD also has a thing for egg pies, so I hide some extra goodies in queshes(sp) and egg pies, he doesn't notice any difference
glad ya managed to get the wee man to eat :yelclap:

Yep G is a right nightmare !!!
If he is having like a meal say like risotto he has to have his own spoon ( fair enough ) & his other hand has to be IN the bowl while I feed him ..... YUCK !
Food ends up everywhere & I mean everywhere ! We both need to shower afterwards & it takes me 20mins to clean up his eating area !!!!!
If its finger food he will sit for 5mins in his chair otherwise he has to stand or crawl & eat .... Again food end up everywhere & im freaking out !
I always said ( yep another one of those ! ) that my kids would sit & eat properly etc etc but I am so desperate to get G to eat I will let him swing from chandeliers if I have to !!!!!!
So my point is :laughing::o
Do whatcha gotta do !

Ally....
I had to go along with the game the other night that I had 3 liitle puppy dogs instead of children!!
They came woofin' over to me on all fours..sat and begged for the remainder of their dinner and barked some more running around chasing each other - every now and then I 'd whistle, "come here puppy, good dog"
They ate all their dinner though.

*sigh*
