Hi all,
we are going on a long car trip and will be on the road well before breakfast ( we leave at 3am) we are packing a picnic lunch and we are just having mcdonalds for breakfast. DD is almost 12 months old. i don't think maccas will be suitable for her. so i need ideas as to what to pack for her breakfast.
thanks :)

I was going to say Cheerios. My kids love them! (The cereal, BTW - not the little hot dogs! :))
I bought a snack-trap for DD when she was little & it's a godsend for Cheerios & car trips!
Would she eat little bits of broken up pancakes? If you really got stuck, maybe you could just grab some hotcakes from Maccas & give her plain pancakes?
My kids also love those fruit bar things. The ones that have like a bready coating with fruit stuff in the middle?

vegemite sandwich
pikelets
nutri grain (dry)
fruit cup - you know the little golden circle peach or two fruit cups.
fruit - grapes, banana
tin baby food - you can get an apple&oatmeal one, or a fruit combo like peach&banana.

You can buy a snack trap from ******* pronto website. They are fantastic as they have a soft top that your child can poke their hand in but don't allow the food to be spilt if it gets shaken or dropped.(you may lose a couple of sultanas, not 1000:p). Perfect for dry cereal, sultanas and the like. I'm not sure if you can get them elsewhere but terrific in the car/pram.

I would break up a maccas hotcake or hash brown, if the rest of the family were getting mcdonalds.
Or if you are organised make and pack your own picklets.

Yep, I got mine at a baby shop, but I have also heard Toys R Us sells them, or even eBay!
They're the best invention ever!!

another option if you are doing the maccas thing is to jsut get a plain english muffin then pop some vegemite/jam on it easy to eat and she will feel like she is eating the same as everyone else. It was a godsend when we drove from Melb to Darwin and had maccas after being on the road a few hours. I also popped some weetbix in a container and had some small UHT milks which was easy esp if you are between towns and they get hungry. (DD never minds the UHT milk even if its not cold)
