View Full Version : space saver high chair
Hi, I'm looking at buying a new high chair for my daughter who is just about to turn one. I have been using a Prima Papa high chair since my little girl was a little over four months old, but that was on loan from my sister and she soon needs it back for baby number two. I was thinking about getting one of those high chairs that strap on to a dining chair and just wanted to know what experiences other people have had with these. in particular i have been looking at a fisher price space saver high chair as you can use it with younger babies too - that way it might come in handy to use again later one when I'm thinking about baby number two.
We have a Bumbo which I think are great.
very portable.
I would like to get a travel one that you can fold up
hey, I just bought mothers choice highchair. It was on special! But I did look at those ones that sit on Dining chair and bumbo etc But I wanted one I could wheel into Lounge or outside under the patio etc. I spose you could take it on the dining chair. At least it doesn't take up as much room I spose. I just wanted one on wheels mainly

I have a Safety First seat that straps to a dining table chair. It can be used for younger and older kids because the seat flips over to be higher or lower as needed. Best thing I ever bought and it only cost me around $60.00 from Toys'r'us. I had a really expensive high chair which was useless because the tray was far too high for even an 18 month old and my DD kept kicking the tray clean off. I ditched it and bought the Safety First seat.
You can just move the whole chair if it needs to mobile. Very convenient.

Hi,
I think I know the Fisher Price one you are talking about .Is it called the space saver? I think it looks really good and it is on special at Target starting tomorrow. For $119 ($30 off)

Hey - I have one of these, that you strap onto a dining chair. I paid about $50 for mine. I found it to be really good when DD was a bit older, but not so great before she could sit on her own - which she was late doing. The backrest on it is pretty low (ie only comes halfway up her back), and the sides of the seat are quite wide, so it didn't provide any support for her before she could sit up. Now that she can sit on her own, its fine, great for when I go visiting, or to a cafe/restaurant etc - and if folds up pretty compactly to put in the car. And best of all, the tray is fully dishwasher safe!
I've seen the bumbo ones, and they look pretty good, but I don't think that you can use them after the bubba os 10+ kg, and they're quite expensive, so I'm not sure whether you'd think that was worth it.
thanks everyone. looks like it's a goer!
I have a Bumbo and take it out to most places but finding that my 5month old is arching his back in it when he wants to get out. I think they are great but you pretty much need a high chair as well, which I don't have yet.

We have used for all three a clip on high chair. Clips onto the side of the table. Obviously your table has to be suitable, but they are so practical-just like adding someone to the table without the bulk of the chair legs and you can take them everywhere. They are great from about 5 months as you can stuff a towel or blanket around the front of the bub and they sit totally supported. It is also a nice way to include the baby at the dining table-I never did understand those highchairs that leave the baby in the corner of the room whilst the rest of the family sits at the table.
Anyway, we had given ours away (not expecting another bub:laughing: ) so had to but another. I bought one on ebay.....and unbeknown to me, so did DH:laughing: so we now have two! If you are at all interested in this style, let me know as I am going to sell one. I don't want much for it-it would be nice to see it go to a bubhubber!
