so Oliver is 5wks old n has being on formula for a wk, but im pretty sure he has reflux, as even if i burp him every 30mls he still chucks up a lil but, plus the last 48hrs he has only finished one 120ml bottle always leaves 30-60mls...

He has all the signs of reflux, dribbles heaps, everytime he burps he crys, if he spews he screams etc...

Hes on the s26gold alfa pro, n i was thinking the s26 reflux but i think i have seen karicare ar-ha i think it is

So which one would be better? also any help would be good for him to finish his bottles n to stop him spewing??

I do everything that websites say to do with a reflux baby he sits in a swing most of the day yet he still spews

The gold formulas tend to be rough on the stomach and no good for reflux bubbas. I had DS on S26 Gold and it played havoc with his reflux. I put him on S26 AR, the orange tin. I found it ok.

I suggest you ask for a referral to a ped. If he is getting lots of pain, they can prescribe stuff like zantac, losec or zoton. GP's can prescribe this stuff but often they have little knowledge of reflux.

Mylanta is really mild and might be a good help while you wait for a spot at the ped. From memory, 2mls is what you give in a dropper.

I've heard a lot of negative stuff about the S26 formula range making babies spewy or constipated. Our little one had terrible reflux but I didn't want to put her on any meds, so I gave her Novolac AR formula from the chemist, it worked really well for a few months and then something happened and she started spewing again, so we put her onto SMA and she stayed on that until she was about 8mths old with very minimal (sp?) spewing. She is now 9mths old and is on a step 2 formula and the reflux is gone, except when she's having a teething moment.
I'm not suggesting that you don't put your bub on meds, that was just my personal opionion for my bub. An appointment with a ped sounds like a great idea, they'll be able to discuss all your options so you can make a decision you're comfortable with.

I have sworn by the Novalac formula brands. We have used A/R as well as the Anti-Colic

Very useful for colicky and refluxy bubbies

I would also recommend to visit your GP or get a referral to your pead.

Reflux isn't pleasant for anyone

All the best.

We started on the S26 AR formula but DS3 became so constipated so we switched to Karicare AR and had no problems with it at all.

My twin boys had reflux, we started off on S26-AR which made no difference at all then tried the Karicare AR which worked wonders.....

Karicare HA/AR worked best with DS1, Karicare AR constipated him, so switched to the HA/AR and no problems.
