Hi Everyone,

Just curious, my DS is 3 months old and as everyone is experiencing the weather is getting extremely hot, which can make it a little difficult for him to sleep wrapped during the day.

Should I stop wrapping him? Any experiences?

I live in SA where it has been over 30 Degrees the last few days - so I hear you!

We have been putting Amelia in a 0.5 Tog Grobag during the nights with her dressed in a short sleeved suit. She does not like to be wrapped at night.

During the day - I wrap her in a very light muslin wrap also dressed in a summer suit.

She doesn't seem too hot to me and has been sleeping well :)

We do the same with DS during the day. We also have his ceiling fan on.

I have stopped wrapping my DD. We decided to because she was constantly getting out and it was waking her up a lot.

It took a while for her to get used to it, but she is sleeping really well now. I just use a sleeping bag now so she doesn't get her legs stuck in the cot slats lol!

I haven't been wrapping DD2 for awhile now, but DS was a Feb baby, and it was well over 30deg and he liked to be wrapped, so I used to wrap him in muslin (sometimes in just a nappy ;) if it was really really hot) and aim a pedestal fan above the basinette.

I still wrap my 3 month old DD. I have tried not wrapping her but find she will not settle and was still waking herself up with her little jumps. I do a loose wrap so she can pull her arms out if she wants, to suck her hands etc. If it is hot in her room, I sleep her in her snuggle bed in our bedroom (which has a window airconditioner) so she doesnt get too hot. At night she has a fan in her room to keep her cool.

I wrapped my daughter through summer in Qld as she would not sleep otherwise I used to wrap her in a single flat sheet due to her size and it is lighter for them
