Just wanting to know how people have lost large amounts of weight. I need to loose about 20kgs...I know it will take a long time.

How did you do it? Most of all, how did you keep motivated?

I'd prefer to hear from people that didn't use any type of program ie tony ferguson, weight watches etc....as this just isn't for me.

thanks.

I have lost around 20kgs. It took a couple of years and I still have about 5kgs to lose to be at a healthy weight range.

I don't have any excess skin (except for the baby belly) and that is because I have lost the weight over a long period of time.

I've done a lot of stopping and starting to be honest as it is hard to keep motivated. But looking back at photos, that is a huge motivating tool!!

I drink 2 litres of water a day, eat very little meat, much smaller portions, swapped my meal times around - I eat dinner at breakfast time which keeps me full pretty much all day, I've recently swapped to soy and dropped 2 kilos. At the moment, I haven't been exercising, just being totally slack really.

I have lost 40+ kgs this year. I did it following weight watchers method of watching what you eat and exercise. Energy in, energy out. I feel great and am 4 kgs from goal.

Simply by watching what I ate...I didnt cut anything out of my diet I just cut down the size and EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE!!!

I did loads of it!! A 1000 steps on the stepper a day and rode 11klms on my pushbike 4 afternoons a week. It took me 8mths but I went from 100kgs to 67kg.

Hi there. I think I fit your criteria. I've lost 25 kilos all up now and have kept them off (coming up for 2 years now). It took me about 6 months but slowly losing is key if you ask me. I didn't go on any diet, I just had some coaching sessions with an online lady who teaches you how to lose weight WITHOUT dieting. It was very helpful and I reckon it's why I have kept the weight off, because I was taught how to get back in tune with my body and know exactly how much food I need. It can be done without dieting! I think I am proof. Good luck.

I lost 20kgs seeing a dietician and it was so simple :D I lost the weight before having DS2 and then snapped straight back into shape after having him 5 months ago using his words of wisdom.

It wasn't hard at all and it's just a way of life now :D

well done. far out that is some weight loss, especially considering you are doing it on your own. most people cant acheive that even when they are on a program. So you cycle 11kms is that per session. Im on my journey to losing 39.6kg to be exact. I have a 17mth deadline before my wedding day and to see that you acheived 33kg in 8 months is astounding. You are definately an inspiration. Keep up with the good week.

Do you have any other tips?
