O.K. My dd is almost 1, and lately has been unbelivably cranky. She goes into full tantrum mode over EVERYTHING. (by full tantrum I mean the trying to throw herself backwards, even if I am standign holding her, Im scared to death she will sucseed and I'll drop her - Arching her whole body stiff and SCREAMIMG at top of lungs) She also VIOLENTLY throws her cups and food at me if I offer and its not what she wants. Its a war at nappy change time, feed time, u took something off me HOW DARE YOU time.. It just seems to be ALL the time lately.. and more worryingly, she seems to be (accordign to my friend) to rough with other kids.. she pulls and scratches and trys to knock them over. I have been using distraction and removal to try to combat.. but not sure if there is a better way?? I know she must be frustrated.. but so am I!!!!!!!!! any stratagies to help would be GREAT.
- Also, is it pretty normal?
Em, wish I could help but DS throws massive tanties too, right down to the tears streaming down his cheeks , throwing himself on the floor but as soon as you give him what he wanted it stops within a second! My guess is it's an age thing so I am jsut riding out the storm :hugs:

Oh THANK GOD!!!! - I was starting to get worried. Now at least I know I am not alone
Do u do anything? Im scared Im setting her up to deal with her problems this way.. Is R rough with other kids?
God, I hope its an age thing and they grow outta it SOON!!!!!!!!:hugs: Indeed!
he isnt overly rough, he does whack his sister though normally when she takes one of his toys, if he is ever rough it is without meaning to be iykwim. like poking, trying to grab etc. but it seems more exploratory than mean iykwim.
I just hold him or gently lay him on the floor so he cant throw himself back and hurt himself, then to be honest I just leave him be. If I get involved he just gets worse so I just stand back and let him finish his tantrum. When he starts winding down I go over to him and ask "are we finished now?" then pick him up, give him a cuddle

I def get what u mean, exploritory not mean! :yelclap:
and I like the idea of letting her get it out of her system, then cuddles after. - I prob frustrating her more with cuddles when she still in tantrum mode.
THANKS K!!!!
