New thread girls!! :)

I'll repost from the last thread

How exciting hails - you lucky thing!

MelC - I haven't done Tizzie hall but Bex has good advice. I think this age is just bad for sleep for some babies - growing pains! Moomoo has so much trouble with day sleeps and is night waking heaps too, but I'm just gritting my teeth. I brought a little carton of formula and will try that one day soon - I just don't think it will help but I'm desperate.

Bex - we don't do baby foods either, M won't touch anything pureed but will eat a cheese sandwich

QTB - yay!! I am so excited for you :p Do you have the newspapers with the houses in this area?

I picked up the forms to enrol Millie into daycare at the end of January :crying: My little girl, its too soon!

CK, sounds like you have an eater just like Evie - she'll happily go for anything solid, but won't have a bar of anything in a bottle. I'm starting to get desperate because I go back to work eight weeks today and I want to be confident that she'll be well and truly on the bottle by then.

MelC, sorry, but I can't help with Tizzie Hall either. I know a lot of people have had success with her routines, but they just seemed a bit restrictive for me. I tend to go with settling techniques along Bex's lines, but I don't feed first (Evie was falling asleep while feeding and then waking up shortly after looking for more. Piggy!)

Hails, sounds like you really have a little handful. It's so cute that he's crawling around like that already.

QTB, happybirthday for yesterday and good luck with the house hunting. We're hoping to sell our place in the new year and start looking for land to build on. I can't wait!

Thanks, the Tizzie settling techniques sound the same as what Bex said, don't pick them up, just pat etc. But it's mainly just wanting to know will she always cry when I put her down? Last night and her 9am sleep today she actually didn't cry hardly at all, so I guess that answers my question. Now I have a problem of removing the Tetra Snuggle Bed because she's getting too big for it. Only trouble is she works herself into the bottom of the cot and puts her legs out. What to do?

And also, how do I get her to eat solids? She's gone completely off them lately - not that she was ever into them in the first place. Maybe it's teeth? Who knows. BABIES! Haha

Bex

Mel- U can buy cot bumpers that cover they rails of the cot or u could just tuck a sheet in at the bottom and pin it around the top rail.

On solids I found that even DS went of solids at one stage and he was a big eater. He just decided at nine months he hate pureed food and would only eat if it was in chucks he could grab and feed himself with. Soft vegies like potato and pumkin are great cause they mash and slide down the throat easy till they get better. I am having trouble with Charllette to cause she is a finger food baby to but its hard to get good food into em when there no good at feeding and chewing chunks yet.

Hey ladies

Well this morning we got up to find two ambulances and two police cars next door.

The ambulances and one of the cop cars finally left but the other cop car kept hovering out the front as if waiting for something. It was waiting for a hearse!

They loaded my young neighbour (couldn't be any more then 40) into the back.

The poor family, they are all so young with a 12 year old daughter and a 5 year old son.

We always chat away whenever we are outside. Before we got to know them we used to call him 'Jim Beam Guy" because every night he would be outside watering his garden whilst drinking a jim beam.:o

Just last night the whole family went on a bike ride together and then came back and were kicking the soccer ball around the front yard.

I don't know what happened but it goes to show how simply life can just slip away.

I feel so sorry for his two kids and partner.:crying:

Heya Ladies

Sorry again its been a while......have been reading along quickly when I get a free second which isn't too often these days!

Back at work now and I am enjoying it. The nights are busy organising everything for the next day but its all good. Max had his first day at childcare on Thursday this week and he absolutely loved it.

We had to lower Max's mattress in his cot today as he can now sit up all by himself and that's how I found him in his cot last night at one point. He's still not able to eat anything unfortunately so he's still just on his Neocate bottles for now. The appointment we got for a paediatric gastroenterologist from the hospital wasn't going to be until March so I booked him into a private one who we'll see on Dec 22nd. Hopefully they can give us some answers about his belly. But again he's still chubby and happy..........wakes once, sometimes twice a night now.

QTB - Congrats on your new home.........very exciting! Hope your moves goes smoothly.

Hails - Sorry to hear the awful news about your neighbour. How devastating for the family.

Man, just did a massive post, and lost it! So pxxd!

Anyway, Hi! Hope you are all well...

Thomas and I are doing great. He's a little underweight, but we are trying to sort it out without resorting to forcing formula down his throat, which is what the CHN wants me to do...

Went and saw Santa yesterday, 39 days until Christmas :smiliedance:

Went to the local business achievement awards earlier this month, as my business was a finalist in best small or home based business. It was very exciting, I didn't win, but will try again next year, and got to do a bit of networking, so well worth going!

Hope all is well with you all, and babies are doing great going into the festive season!

Hi, I usually read along although I don't post often, but I really had to ask Kat, did the nurse tell you to force feed your baby? I am so shocked by that. If you force feed your bubs he will just vomit it up. Bubs will only drink what his little belly can hold, I cannot believe a nurse told you to force feed formula. What she should have told you was the benefits of formula feeding if baby wasn't getting enough breast milk at this point but she is totally wrong to tell you to force feed formula.
Things like this make me seriously worried about the level of care in this country. I have never heard of the stuff people on here say happens happening at home. Makes me seriously wonder.........

Hey gals....

We had to take Nate to see the Paed Physio on Fri.

He has a condition called Hypotonia which is a low tone of the muscles..

Why it hasnt been picked up sooner is beyond me... From what I can assume and gather from the stuff we've read its a long road of occupational therapy and physio ahead of us...

I am going to a meeting on Tues for parenting classes and there is going to be a OT there so i am going to try and talk to them afterwards about it...

Sigh.. I really feel for Nate.. he's having such a rough start to life

Hey ladies

Looks like there may be another baby in the family.
My brother recieved a phone call from a girl he has been casually seeing. She told him that she is definetly pregnant and thinks that the baby is his. She doesn't know how far along she is yet so we are all unsure as to whether the baby is really his or not. (He lives in Townsville QLD and she lives in Shepparton VIC, they have only been together in last week of July and first week of November so it's a bit iffy).

I have my :fingerscrossed: that when the blood results come back and her ultrasound can give her an estimate date I only hope that she is honest with my brother about whether or not the baby is really his. She knows he has money and thinks he is a realy decent guy, she knows that he will take care of her if it's his, I hope she doesn't abuse this generosity and just tell him it's his when it's not.

I've also found out my dad has a blood clot on his brain, they don't want to operate but they are treating it with medication (something about thinning the blood?). He's ok thats' as much as I know.

TGO - I'm sorry to hear about the ongoing saga in relation to Nate:hugs:. I know he has had such a rough start to life but remember, it doesn't mean that this will continue for the rest of it. He may just be getting it all out of the way now!
I'm wishing you all the best with his physio, we are all here to support you and your family. xoxo

MISSUS S - I hope everything goes well for Max's appointment. It's good news though that the problems don't seem to be stopping any development stages - i.e Max sitting up. :fingerscrossed: you get some answers.

QTB - Congrats on your new house!! I love timber floors, looks like you have picked out a real winner!!!:yelclap: What is the neighbourhood like??

SETHANDRUBY'S MUM - How are you travelling?? I hope the days are starting to look a little brighter.:sunshine:

Everybody else I hope all is ok, will catch up soon!

HI Girls,

I have been mia again . We have been sooo busy here but to be completely honest I couldnt tell you what we have been doing! Lots of mundane everyday stuff and lots of xmas planning. We are having 24 people for xmas dinner this year . Poppy is doing really well. She is almost crawling, up on all fours and rocking back and forward. I think this week we will have a crawler on our hands lol. Everything is tatatata and dadadada. She is just sooo cute. I love her to bits :)

Glad to hear most of you are doing well. The April thread seems to be dying a slow death, not many people chat here any more :(.

I will try and come back later this week. Sorry I am not around as much, it is just so hard to get any time on the computer at all these days.

Have a good day,
Ang and Poppy mwah!

hey girls,

been gone andw= will be gone again - yanked out the computer cords so I couldn't use the net and feel so much better for it. using old ancient laptop to check email once a week.

millie got weighed last week anbd has completely fallen off the charts for her weight. She's 6.1kg at 7 1/2 months - she is so small and gained only 300g in 2 months. She will be reweighed in 2 months but the doctor thinks she has a problem absorbing calories. she takes enough food but it just comes back out in her nappies. I'm freaking out big time but she is very happy and meeting milestones. She is crawling super fast, on knees rocking - the only thing she doesn't do is sit unaided.

Keep well and hope all those beautiful kids are doing well. Will try and log on again this week!vv

ok a nate update

OK...

JUST got off the ph from his physio.... wanted to know exactly what we are dealing with.. was so gobsmacked on fri that we didnt ask questions...

She said to stop stressing so much about it... They will continue his physio/occupational therapy/speech therapy etc til about 12-18 mths before they will worry too much... Then if he's not showing signs of walking etc they will begin testing to see what the underlying cause is.. the testing is pretty invasive ie lumbar punctures etc so they rather leave them til last iykwim.

She said he is low in the range, but only halfway btween normal and really bad....so its bad but not to the extreme... its a lifelong condition tho that will require a lot of work...

He is only reaching milestones apparently of a 3-4 mnth old... so we have to work to help him reach them.. it will take him a lot more work and effort to reach them than other kids his age.... a lot of frustration and patience ahead for us all.

But i still love him no matter the outcome... he is my miracle child.. and id never trade him for quids

I asked her if he'd need an extra carer etc to go to daycare next year? So she has referred me to an thing called horizions, its an early intervention thing i think....

missus s - glad everything is going well for you! great that your enjoying being back at work and Max likes daycare! thats definatly got to make the going back to work alot easier!

KatK - Congrats on the award!! thats awesome! gotta love networking oppotunities! :D

i cant believe they were trying to get you to force feed Thomas! is he gaining weight at all? just wondering if its something like what harlan had in the beginning, with his tummy not growing as it should have been? he was gaining tiny tiny bits of weight (20g/30g etc)

Cora - start posting more :p

hails - i hope shes honest! seems a bit surrell that she could know shes preg already if they saw each other first week of nov?! impossible! i hope shes more pregnant and it was from the july meeting...

Ang - poppy is soooo damn cute! i bet its awesome seeing her crawl!

24 people for xmas - your crazy!! :noel:

CK - nooooooooooooooooooo dont you leave tooooo!!! no no no no.... might have to come have a coffee with you if your not going be on here!! :p

TGO - awwww poor nate!! he had been through so much since birth hasnt he... poor wee chappy! at least your onto it early though! lumber punches suck on bubs... brayds had to have one at 6wks old, it was the most distressing moment of my life... i could hear him from 6 floors down it was awful! BABYDESIGNER - Our babies were born on the same day!!!
My son during these past few months has just started not sleeping, we have tried everything we can think of, any advice you can pass on would be great!

LIDDY - Wow, the fact that you may be pregnant already came as quite a shock to me.

You and Dave haven't really been together long and it seems to be moving extremely fast, please just don't put all your eggs in one basket.
I'm sure Dave is a fantastic guy and I know for sure that he has made you happy, I just can't help worrying:) (I see you like I see my younger sisters and can't help but feel protective as I'm sure everybody else in the April Mama's group do).

I'm not personally attacking you so please don't take it that way i'm just worried because of all the bullsh*t Jason put you through with Jade, I just don't want to see you go through all that again.

TGO - I'm glad that you have called and now know what you are up against. It's good that he isn't in the very lowest part of the scale and hopefully with a bit of work he won't need those other horrible tests. Do you have a good support network around you to help you out if you need it??

As for us, Ryder just won't slow down!! He is crawling all over the place, we have to make sure the doors to the bedrooms, laundry, bathroom and toilet are shut as he likes to crawl up and down the hallway. He is already keeping us on our toes, I hate to imagine how he is going to be once he can walk (he's already trying to stand so it wont be long!!)

He has a fixation with the bin, we have to leave it on the bench because he likes sucking the corner of it:barf:.

We are still having major sleep issues. He's only slept all the way through about 2 nights in the past 4 months. It's really starting to get to me, I keep expecting him to sleep all night because of all the moving around he does during the day!

I look at him and can't believe that 7 months ago he was born and could only lie in the one spot, my little baby is disappearing and my little boy is taking it's place:o it's scary to see how quick he is growing up already.

Liddy, are you TTC? How will you feel if you are pregnant? How does Dave feel about it. Gosh, what a huge step. I was so surprised when I read your post, I didn't think you were even considering it. How exciting for you. Let us know when you know for sure.
I think Hails was just worried, she didn't mean anything bad at all. Its only cause you haven't been with Dave that long and you know yourself, a man can walk (or run), but we can't run away. She is probably just concerned that as you have only been together a few months that he may do that. I dont know what its like to be a single mum and there is 2.5 years between my two but DH has been away for a few weeks and it is hard on your own running a home and looking after 2 children. And 2 under 2 would be double the work. It really was concern.
But Liddy if this is your choice and this is what you want then you live the life you chose. If your happy then we're happy for you.
I can't wait to hear, but if your hoping, don't put all your eggs in one basket, you have a whole week before AF is due, its too soon to feel any pregnancy symptoms yet so it may be that you want it so bad you almost feel it, do you know what I mean?

 my ruby has started tantrums. oh yay twice as many now.

no sleep improvements from either. although ruby does sleep better then seth. seth comes into our bed 11-midnight now. used to be 10pm so there is an improvement. we have him in a disposable at night as night nappies irritate his penis so its not worth the trouble. ruby wakes at 10 where i change her into her night nappy and she sleeps till 3 or 4 am. though she might help her self to the boob anywhere in between, she only cries if she cant find it rubys been in cloth for about a month now no touching sposies for her, she reacts to them:confused: so endless washing for me..

dh has been helping alot since his exams have slowed down. dishes are done by him every morning and he cleans the house and garden outside everyweekend. so i have been improving alot.

ruby has no teeth still and is being breastfed and taking only 2 meals a day.. if that. (doesnt get through 3cubes) doesnt matter.

despite the sleep that i dont get im coping ok during the day. leave the cleaning till there in bed at night:yes:

ruby now steals seths drink bottle which doesnt have cooled boiled water :shame:she also steals his cheese rusks

things are slowly improving in everyway. (except i dont get any support from my own family)

hope your all well.

Liddy - good luck hun.

BabyDesigner - welcome

i better go get seths milk bottle b4 he gets upset. 10.50 everyday mum mum mum :dizzy:(in other words milk milk milk. he cant say anything else but mum:()

Hey Ladies

S&R's mum - I'm glad that your DH helps you so much. he sounds like a lovely hubby. I know what you mean about tantrums...Charli has one at every nap time.

Sparkley - Just wanted to say hi. Its lovely to see you when you pop in.

Hails - Charli was a perfect sleeper too for a while 8pm - 7am. Not no more. She wakes up every few hours screaming now. Usually its because she needs a bum change or coz she has wriggled out from under her sheets. I dont know what else it could be...all I know is that this mummy misses her sleep.

Babydesigner - Welcome hun. This a lovely group of mummys. I hope you have as much fun here as I do.

QTB - Congrats on the house.:yelclap: That is fantastic. It looks like a stunning house too. You much be so happy.

Liddy - Oh my goodness...how exciting. Wow. Cant wait to hear of the test results. Judging from your post I'm guessing you are hoping for a :bfp:. I have my :fingerscrossed: crossed for you hunni.

TGO - :hugs: for you hun. I dont know much about what you are going through but I can imagine it would be very stressful.

CK - Your Millie sounds just like my friends little girl. Alexa is very small but at the same time she is perfectly healthy and no different to any of the other bubs born around the same time. All babies are different which is what makes them all beautiful.

Ang - Lovely to see you on here too. Like you I have been so busy lately but for the life of me I cant think of what I have been doing. Poppy sounds like she is ready to take off crawling any day now. Miss Charli is still a roller. She doesnt seem to have any interest on crawling....Oh well I guess that time will come.

Miss Charlotte has just woken up so I will have to go. I'll try come back later and do a bit of an us update.

Take care lovely mummies. :flowerz:

SPARKLEYMUM - Thanks. You put it much better then I did now that I read mine back. I did only mean it out of concern. Thankyou!

LIDDY - Thanks for not taking it the wrong way. If you are :bfp: then I will be the first to offer you a huge CONGRATULATIONS.
Please understand where my concern came from.

LILMRSC - I miss my sleep sooooo much. Ryder does the same. He used to just wake up and grizzle but not now, now he cries and cries until someone goes in there. We can settle him back down again but as soon as we leave his room he cries all over again.

Apparently babies are meant to cry themselves to sleep, well not this little charlie brown. He could go for hours on end if we were to let him!!

SETHSANDRUBYSMUM - Tantrums all ready!!! She is eager to grow up isn't she!! Seth saying "Mum" is really cute. Ryder isn't saying anything yet, he is making a lot of noises that sometimes sound like words but I'm not counting them!!

I'm glad to hear that you are feeling much better, perhaps the :gloomy: is passing?? I'm upset though that you're not getting any support from your family.

We're all doing well. Dh is away on a course in Melbourne so it's just been me, Aimee and Myles at home. Its been nice though and somehow I seem to have alot less housework.

Myles is getting on well. He is a real buster. I guess at some point he will even out. He was weighed a week ago and was 11 kilos 74cm long. size 0 is too small for him, he'd really be in 18 month old clothes but you dont find that size in many places, so I dont buy that much for him right now.
He just started crawling last week which was a total shocker, I was prepared for very late development mobility wise, even the Dr's said it, due to his size, just goes to show....

Only today we had teritorial warfare in my house. Now that he is mobile he see's something, he goes and gets it. Aimee had a few games beside her on the floor, he saw them and next minute he was eating her Dora cards and she is saying 'mum, put Myles back on the mat, MUM MUM'. I told her she needs to keep her things up high now or on the sofa. So she put her stuff on the sofa and sat on the floor playing with her magnetc drawing board, next thing Myles had climbed on top of her pulling the pen off her. I have a feeling things are going to get very interesting in my house now.

I'm thinking of nice things to do for Christmas. Dh is off for about 3 weeks. Last year we had Christmas day at home and in the evening we drove to the city and stayed in the Hilton so the next morning we had a lovely breakie and went out into the sales. It was really nice. Also a few weeks ago Dh did a locum in Coffs Harbour and we went with him and had a great time, my other idea was a few nights in one of the resorts down there the week before Christmas day. I will have to look up stuff to do on the net and decide.

Christmas is going to be great, Aimee is so excited and looking forward to santy coming. I did most of my christmas shopping at the begining of the year and when the mid year toy sales were on so I haven't done any shopping recently. I just have to go through the stuff I have and make sure I have everything I need but i', pretty sure we're sorted. I just haven't bought anything for DH, thats always a hard one.

Sounds like everyone is getting on well and preparing for Christmas. Can't wait to decorate the house.
Best go Myles has just woken from his midday nap.

Max can now pull himself up standing on our furniture. DH was watching the telly this morning and Max was on the floor next to him...........next thing he looked over and Max was standing there hanging onto our side table with the biggest & proudest smile on his face :D

Hails – I was left with no option apart from CC and sleep school, I left sleep school as last resort (the waiting list was huge and the cost!) so we went CC, I didn’t really like it at first, but after 2 nights I didn’t look back! Its not every ones cup of tea and I respect that, but just as an idea; that’s how desperate we were.

Sethandruby’smum thanks for the welcome!

lilMrsC Thanks for the welcome! I like bubhub so much better than another forum I used to frequent. Can let loose a little

My DD isn’t crawling yet, but I have seen her get in the position, and one time was swaying back and forth. She says muma and dada and buba tho. Its cute as!
I must admit, im getting clucky again. I had to drop my bro off at work yesterday and drove past the hosp I gave birth at and all the memories came back. I cant wait to experience pregnancy and birth again. Im crazy but I actually really enjoyed both. Cannot wait to go back and do it all again =)

Ooh QTB PM me! (Don't fret either, I'll still be popping in when I have the chance - just not going to cut into time when the kids are awake anymore)

I too cannot imagine anymore - and DP has sworn no more either (he was kind of clucky for a while there!). I'm so tired and stressed out at the moment, and I've been struck pretty badly with PND.

Liddy, good luck! How exciting :bee:

Missus S - gosh, standing already! How cute!

sparkley - what a gorgeous boy it sounds you have - and well done on the crawling!

LilMrsC - thanks - I think she is healthy too but we will keep it checked. She's kind of out of proportion so I want her to fatten up a bit. Her head is in the 75th percentile, length 50th so having her weight dropped off the charts makes her very big headed on such a little body, LOL . No wonder she can't sit up, she's too top heavy,

My laptop won't scroll down any further for other personals :hair: , I'll have to try again tomorrow. Night everyone!

Hey Chicks

Wow it is all exciting about everybody falling pregnant again.
Too be honest, these past two weeks I've had bad period cramps (without the period), dizzy spells (actually close to fainting) nausea, sore boobs and moments of hot and cold that can't be explained. I'm positive i'm not, I reackon it's just because of all the pregnancy talk (my brother, two of my friends) It's just my body going out in sympathy.
I might do a test soon though just for peace of mind.

I'm not ready. I didn't enjoy it the first time round, the whole experience (labour, birth - emergancy c-section) has really turned me off the whole process actually.

I'm also enjoying having my body back and looking forward to indulging (drinking:D) this chrissy season because I missed out last year. Might sound a little selfish but I've been looking forward to it all year.

I will go back, I'm not saying never, I just want to be in the right frame of mind about it and right now i'm not.

We tried some control crying last night, Ryder fell asleep initially after 20 mins of crying (poor fella fell asleep on his face with his bum up in the air:p).
He woke up again at 12:30am and we tried it again and at 3:00am he was still crying so be relented and let him in our bed so DH could get some sleep for work today.

I have a feeling this is going to be a very long process.

Hey Girls

Sorry I have been MIA for a while just haven't got my head around a lot of things in my life atm, but I'm slowly getting there, just feel stuck in a rut atm.

Congrats to the mums who are UTD (he he he he he I know and guessed it right first go lol he he he he) or trying :yelclap:, Liddy I hope you get your :bfp: so glad to read that you are really happy, Dave looks like a really nice guy!

Well I am definitely not UTD AF decided to rear her ugly head today on DPs b'day I feel so bad he had a really bad morning cause I am cramping up something shocking!

Evie is well crawling everywhere it's so cute, funny and cheeky she just loves to go exploring and get into everything, and she backs up to sit now and pulls herself up onto everything (including things that aren't so stable) definitely keeping me on my feet! So basically all she needs me for is to change her nappy lol she's such a littlel independent miss. She isn't too keen on solids at the moment (it all started when DPs mum gave her puree and she was having lumpy food now she won't have a bar of lumpy just puree again...) She has 4 teeth now and can see two more coming through.

Evie is my ray of sunshine atm she keeps me laughing and smiling so much :bee:

Hails - :hugs: we tried control crying with Evie didn't work for her! I'm with you, not looking forward to being pregnant again, it was a pain in the ***! You look fantastic btw your wedding photos are gorgeous! And you're not selfish at all, I can completely understand because I am looking forward to having fun and drinking over chrissy!

CK - damn laptops, mines shocking at the moment!

Missus S - Yay for Max pulling himself onto things, I love your fb photos by the way you look fantastic as well!!! LOL I haven't even thought of going back on the pill makes me all blah so it's all in DPs hands lol....I should change that!

Baby Designer - Welcome! My bubba was due in April but was born in March, I love your little girls name! I get clucky when I look at DDs newborn photos and then I remember the pregnancy and birth and go no thanks lol.......How many kids would you love to have?

Mel (QTB) - Wow how long is Harlan? Evie is 8.7 kgs but really long she feels heavy to me lol I don't want her to get any bigger lol.....How long until you guys move into your own house? I loved the pool looks so good!

Liddy (Jade's Mum) - Am so happy for you hunni! Your new bedroom is just devine so have bedroom envy lol!

Nic - Hey Hunni, hope all is well! Congrats on the new job too!!! Charli is so cute in her photos!

Cora - You are organised, I'm the same as Liddy haven't really started lol....ah well will in the next couple of weeks! Glad to hear Myles is going well! How is Aimee?

Rosie - Hey luvly, how are you going? Your fb pic of the two kids is so adorable! Are you going to go and study?

 to everyone else hope you are all doing well!

hailsntwang - i agree with qtb on the 3 day rule:yes:

Majeevch - i want to study but its not possible right now with the feelings i have. so im going to let her wean off me (even if that takes 2years) and then study. happy birthday to you dp, what a crappy day to get your AF:hugs:

quesion:o
is it normal for them to be scared of a loud sneeze when they are looking at the person?

dh sneezed while ruby was looking at him and she started bawling her eyes out:( seth used to do that so im so worried she has his traits

im trying to relax but i cant. im so scared

eta she reacted to banana yesterday (were pretty sure) so we have to be careful of that now. do i see a pead??and get her tested ?

Love is all you need
19-11-2008, 10:56
Rosie : :hugs: that sounds good about the studying! As for sneezes, Evie still does on occasion get scared when there are loud sneezes, so I don't think it's too much to worry about. Even though Seth does have ASD he still would have had "normal" (if there is such a thing with any baby) baby traits so don't stress too much sweety :hugs: (hope you know I mean, not trying to be nasty or anything!)

As for banana I don't think they test for allergies until they are 1 as Evie has got a really high chance of being allergic to nuts, soy and / or meat (hopefully not all three) in regards to the nuts, the MCHN told me when she is one to smear a small bit of peanut butter on her face to see if she reacts and that way she hasn't ingested it. So maybe put a small swipe on Rubys face and see if she reacts.

Just an update

I did a pregnancy test and I'm :bfn: (I'd like to turn the frown into a smile though because i am so relieved!!:p) I'm personally just not ready yet. I want to get a part time job first and help out with the income, plus DH and I have decided we won't start ttc until the second half of next year.

:smiliedance:
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE OTHER APRIL MUMMY WHO IS EXPECTING THOUGH, YAY:smiliedance:

JESS -I hear ya about Chrissy! I'm so excited about being able to participate this year (drink, eat what I want and play cricket).

Sounds like Evie is a little mover just like Ryder. He loves exploring everything. Lately he's had a thing for the shoes and for the front door (oh and the bin!!).

I hope you get out of your rut soon. How is your study going??

LIDDY - This sleep thing is driving me up the wall aswell. Sympathy to you, I can totally relate. It's not much fun is it?

I will try and stick to it for 3 days but instead of crying himself to sleep, he cries himself awake (last night was the first time ever that he actually feel asleep).

Will let you all know how I go with night 1, tomorrow :fingerscrossed: for me please.

Love is all you need
19-11-2008, 13:17
Liddy - Nah I don't think we'll do number two just yet, as much as I would love a close age gap I don't think I am ready...At this stage with how I am feeling I think when Evie is 3 hopefully the next one won't be too far away.
Oh Evie was like that she rocked so much and then one day zoooom!!!!!!! She just took off lol I thought she wouldn't for ages cause she was fairly good with commando crawling but man she just loves to crawl now lol......I'm sure Jade will take off soon enough! Do you think maybe Jade is going through another growth spurt or teeth?

Hails - Oh that is awesome about part time work, I was thnking the same regarding the income but there is nothing around atm :( Oh yes backyard cricket is a must this year, need to prove I'm better at cricket than Matt lol......oh yes and Evie has a thing for shoes, thankfully hasn't found the bin yet but we can't leave shoes lying around anymore! :fingerscrossed: for tonight sweety! Hopefully it's not too bad :hugs:

Studying isn't going to bad just draining at the moment lol especially doing Business Communications which was what I did at work so its soooooooooo boring lol bring on news and politics next study period lol!

Hey Mummies,

Jess - Yay you're back. So happy to see you around. How cute that Evie is crawling and has 4 teeth. Charli isnt crawling yet...I dont think she can be bothered haha. She only has 2 teeth but I think we are going through our second round of teething now.

Hails - I'm glad the preggie test came back with the answer you were hoping for. I'm the same as you...just not ready for another bubs at this stage. I have just got my job to help out around here and I am really looking forward to being able to celebrate xmas with a few champers. HAHA.

S&R's mum - Charlotte also gets freaked out by sudden loud noises like sneezes. I think its totally normal.

Missus - Wow Max is a clever boy. It only feels like yesterday they were all tiny little babies in our arms and now they are all getting so big and strong. Bit sad really :crying:

Cora - Oh your xmas plans all sound so lovely. Ours will be spent running from house to house as usual. This year will be even worse as everyone wants a piece of Charlis first xmas. Having said that I dont mind...it is lovely seeing family and friends.

QTB - Thanks for the pm to tell me who our preggie mummy is. So very exciting.

Ck - Must be a computer thing at the moment. Mine is running so slow...it is driving me batty.

Babydesigner - Oh I get clucky too sometimes...but I had a not so nice pregnancy and that does put me off going back for number 2...at least for a little while.

Us - Charlotte and I are going well. She is 8months old tomorrow. 8.9kg and about 69cm (havent measured her in a while). It looks like she wants to crawl but just cant seem to work it out. If any of you mummies with crawling babies have any tips on helping her out please let me know. The frustrated look on her face is so sad....
I'm ok...looking forward to starting my new job next week. It'll be weird to even leave Charli for the few hours I'll be away but I think it will be good for both of us. I'm still having trouble with not being able to feel my legs due to low b12. I seem to have the doctors stumped. Oh well.

Well I better go. DH is home today so I probably should help him out with the Charli monster.

Great to see everyone around a lot more. :D

Hi gals long time no chat

QTB I have to know who is UTD please please please PM me... I wanna know if its the same April mum that I know is also UTD :p

Its Miss Eloise Birthday today and she is the Big 3 happybirthday...

Charlies is going great guns, crawling and chatting away and sitting him self up all on his own, getting very independant which is great but sad cause I think this is it for us no more, maybe when I finish Uni we will have just one more but I will be 30 then so not sure after 4 years if I wanna start all over with a new born when my 2 will be getting ready for kindy and school.

Daryll is finally home too :smiliedance:... so nice to be a normal family for a while cause he has missed out on so much with Charlie, he has only seen him for 6 weeks out of 7 months :o.

Well hope your all well and massive hugs to you all :hugs:

Hello ladies! Wow all this talk about being preggers again, nope not ready here! My plan is to start when Thomas is two, so another 18 months to enjoy being a mum to one, thanks....

Met a lady today who currently has three kids, the oldest of which is three, (almost four), and she is now two months pregnant. Keen!! Not for me I don't think.

QTB - thanks for the congratulations. I was stoked to be a finalist! will def try again next year.

Thomas is putting on weight, but at a reduced rate to "normal" babies. he puts on about 70-100 g a week. "They" say he should be putting on about 200g a week. Hence the emphasis on formula. I may have come on a little strong in my previous post about force feeding him, but he doesn't like formula, and thats the only way well, actually even trying to force feed him formula (which my DH tried) doesn't work, cos he doesn't want it.

Went to the CHN again today, she now wants me to put the formula in his vegies. I'm not going back now until next year, cos it upsets me every time. He doesn't look to me like he's starving, and I doubt myself every time I go.. He is having three solid meals a day, about four to five tablespoons each time. Sometimes if he's too tired, then three to four.

Oh well, have an appt with the dr on monday, so will see what he has to say.

Hope all is well with you all, and look forward to seeing another three pages here in two days time!!!

Just a quickie from me sorry before I have to get ready for work....

I'm still having trouble with not being able to feel my legs due to low b12. I seem to have the doctors stumped. Oh well.

I'm surprised your Doctors are stumped about this  Severley low B12 is associated with neurological and nerve damage. I have the exact same issue and which my previous Dr left untreated for a long time (********). My condition is called pernicious anaemia and I now have lifelong B12 jabs as I don't absorb B12 from my food. But recently after the pregnancy and breastfeeding (which my GP said takes a toll on the body)...........I too lost sensation in the extremeties on my left side - my foot and hands, its the most annoying feeling that you can't feel them! So my new GP is just brilliant as she is also a nutritional practitioner..........she now has me taking sublingual methylcobalamin B12 tablets. These are very potent B12 tablets that you dissolve under your tongue and they taste like fruit tingles, lol. She thinks I'm one of the people who also have trouble converting B12 to methyl B12 which is the form the body needs it in to work. So it will take a few months to see if this has made any difference but I think it is starting to. So make sure you are at least getting regular B12 jabs anyway if you're not already........its really important

hailsntwang

Gosh

So many people have been in here recently talking, it's so exciting to hear from all you, I miss you all so much!!!

MISSUS S - That B12 thing sounds scary. I never knew you suffered from that. I'm glad your new GP knows what she is talking about.

LILMRSC - Take Missus S advice. Maybe print out what Missus s said and go and see a different GP?? It can't hurt to try!
How did you find going back to work?? Is it a brand new job or the same one you had before you were preggers??

KATKYLE - The CHN makes me feel like a dead beat mum every time I visit too. Ryder is going really well with his development (no problems so far) but because i'm not doing things "they say to do, by their book" i'm a bad mum. I always come out feeling like absolute Sh*t.
I would advise you just go to see you GP from now on. Normally they don't have the "sensitive chip" missing.

If he's fed, bathed, nappy is continously changed then I don't see what the problem is? I really wish sometimes they would think about how their words can affect the mother.

ELOISE&CHARLIE'SMUM - How did Eloise's birthday go yesterday?? I hope she had an absolutely fantastic day. She's a big girl now!!
Charlie sounds like he is going fantastic!

Enjoy your happy family time with Daryll - only 6 weeks in the past 7 months, god that would be so hard. You handle it so much better then I ever could.

I hope some one babysits for you so you and Daryll can have a nice romantic night to yourselves!!:valentine:

As for us, well we started trying the control crying method again last night.

Because Ryder refused his afternoon nap, he wanted to fall asleep in my arms at about 7:00pm last night. I refused and kept putting him in his cot which would start him crying. I finally just put him on the floor and that is where he fell asleep.

I put him in his cot and he stayed asleep up until 12:30am this morning. I went in there and would calm him down and then leave again, gradually leaving him alone for longer and longer. I ha been doing this for over an hour and was just starting to make progress (Ryder was stopping for longer then he was crying and was rubbing his eyes), when DH lost his patience and went in their and rocked him to sleep!!
There goes all of my hard work. Oh well Atleast Ryder stayed in his bed all night.

Tonight I will continue on this progress. I mean, I'm already sleep deprived, might as well be doing something positive that can help out in the long run!!!

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope everyone is having a lovely day already.

Hails - Controlled crying is so hard isnt it? We have been doing that with Charli and it breaks my heart to hear her cry like that but I know its best in the long run. I hope tonight is a bit easier for you. Hopefully you can get a little nap in today. :hugs:Oh and I havent started my new job yet. I start next Wednesday. Its a new job so I am a bit nervous.

MissusS - Thankyou so much for your post. I have printed out what you wrote and I am going to take it to the docs with me tomorrow. I have been getting B12 shots every fortnight...but my condition seems to be getting worse rather than better. I hope you have a lovely day at work.

KK - I know what you mean about the CHN making you feel like ****. Everytime I go there they make me feel like a bad mum for not breastfeeding...everytime I go there I explain to them that I couldnt breastfeed as I didnt create the hormone to produce milk. They keep telling me that I am making Charlotte "fat". It makes me so :banghead:. :hugs: to you....you are being the best mum that Thomas could ask for.

E&C's mum - Hello hunni! happybirthday for Miss E for yesterday. I hope she had a fantastic day. Yay for your DH being home. It must be fabulous to have your whole family together.

Us - Not much has changed since yesterday. Today we are off to my mums group (which is more like a group of really close friends now)

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Nic – LOL as they say you know you’re alive when they start crawling lol….as much as I love that she can crawl I’d give anything for her to sit still for 5 mins lol…….yeah I think we have more teeth on the way you should see the drool lol….That’s no good about I agree with what Missus S said, big big :hugs: Hope all goes well with the new job! Hope you had a great day at mums group!

Liddy – Oh I so have car envy now too!!!! You lucky thing I wish we could afford to get a new car….ford territories are great to drive as my dad has one and driven it a couple of times so nice!

Us – Well I just got back from my PT session and I think they are working because I played basketball last night and ran most of the game which was great and actually sprinted lol and I don’t feel like I am going to wet myself anymore LOL…..Evie is doing really well, getting better on solids and now as we don’t have a play pen yet we are trying to block off areas but she climbs over the pillows now lol and faceplants to get forward and it doesn’t phase her!!!! I’m watching spicks and specks and OMG sam the yellow wiggle was singing angels of harlam man can he sing! And OMG U2 doing wake up jeff lmao!!!!! So want to get back into band singing and writing songs, sorta hoping my degree will help with promotions, just need to get the connections!
Well we’re off to a Tupperware party tomorrow, money could seriously be spent lol!!!

Sounds like some people are having a hard time with the child health nurses. Can i just ask why you guys see CHN's?
i have only every seen the dr when myles has had immunistaions, and an eye specialist for his little peeper, we've never seen a CHN and never goes for checks or anything. I got him weighed a few weeks ago but only cause Aimee was seeing the GP so I thought i might as well while I was there.

Just wondering.

I dnt see a MCHN... had a disagreement with her at nates 8wk checkup and told her where to go!!

I seen her last wk at a class i went to..and have to see her nxt 3 tuesdays... hehe i overheard her saying something about me on tues and confronted her and asked her if she had a problem and she was like no...she asked me if i had a prob with her and i told her if she did her job properly and didnt spend 3 hrs talking to my inlaws instead of her job when she did the home visits maybe there wouldnt be a problem!

KatKyle
20-11-2008, 21:06
Sparkley - Being my first, I guess I just go to confirm a few things, like I'm doing the right thing and stuff. We had issues with thomas's weight from the beginning, and I stopped going for about two months, then found a CHN who wasn't too bad, so went every fortnight. Mainly just to get him weighed on the same scale.
My Dr is very busy, so I have only been to see him for the immunisations as well, and guess I just worry the rest of the time, hoping I am doing the right thing for him.

Anyone else get hit by that storm? Wow some rain coming down with that one, I was doing 40km down the road cos I couldn't see a hell of a lot apart from the rain!!!

Hope its not like that tomorrow!

I loved Spicks and Specks with the wiggles. I have to show it to my DH, cos he loves u2, and he really did a great job!

Catch you all soon...

Oh, thats right, I do photographic guestbooks at celebrations. Memories in a Flash has a website, I can PM you if you want to have a look. Basically its a guestbook at say a wedding, or 21st, where I take a photograph of every guest, and then that guest scrapbooks a page to the guest of honour with the photo. (digital camera and portable printer) I really love when the albums start coming together, people can be so creative!

Good Morning Mummies

KK - Oh your business sounds fab...what a fantastic idea. I wish I was creative enough to start my own business.

TGO - Good on you for standing up for yourself. Sometimes these CHN's need to be told that what their saying is just not cool.

Sparkley - I used to see a CHN for advice with Charli. More me panicing that I was making the wrong choices. But since being told I was making Charli fat coz I formula feed I have stopped going and only see my GP for injections and general health check ups.

Jess - Sounds like you are going really with with your PT sessions. That is awesome hunni.

Us - Well last night was awful. Charlotte was up all night. She is still being really difficult. She is so over tired...she just needs to sleep (and so do I for that matter) Oh well. Just another day of being a mummy I suppose.

Hope everyone has a lovely day. :flowerz:

LilMrsC - Hope your day was OK and that Charlotte has a better night tonight. How did you go with your Doctor today??

KatKyle - Your business sounds fab. Sorry to sound dumb but do the guests make their page on the night?

Majeevch - Oh I didn't see that Spicks & Specks but I suppose its probably on YouTube (what isn't!). I said to my DH when I took Gem to a Wiggles concert that the new yellow Wiggle has the best voice :)

hailsntwang - Hope the CC'ing goes smoothly for you. I can't remember are you back at work yet?? Hope you guys get some good sleep soon.

Big HI to everyone else........sorry can't remember too far back.

I had some piccy's done of Max on the spur of the moment at my local shopping centre. $9 for a session including a free piccy, they had noone there when I walked past & could do it straight away.........so I thought why not. Took 4 weeks for them to print them up and I got to see them yesterday. They're quite cute actually.........have a look:

Missus S - gosh max is a stunner! hes gonna have the girls pouring off him ;)
and no, no party planning here yet!

babydesigner - :D

lilmrsC - naww i hope miss charli starts sleeping properly for you, its sooo hard on mum and dad when they dont!

Well, i got home from our last brissy meet yesterday to DH telling me that he got "let off" from work... :banghead: so now we have, bills, debts, a $300k mortgage, 2 kids, another on the way and NO income! im soooo annoyed... cos he was working for a company (a) and they onsold the cardboard contract to company (b) and dan had to go with it... no worries, except DH was doing the same job for $33k a year less!! the owner of (b) sat down with DH & I and said he would start him on $55k p/a (he was on 88k with (a)) and when he got back from his overseas holiday he would put it up (2wks later) so 4 weeks after starting there (yesterday) DH hit them up about a payrise as agree'd and they said "oh we cant afford to keep you dont come back on monday"

seriously, can they do that?! aghhhhhhh

so now we are both job hunting, whoever gets a job first goes to work, the other stays home. or if they are both good paying then hiring a nanny and we both work.... agh

great timing!

QTB - Oh no!!! In reality, no, I don't think they can do that legally, but so many companies get away with stuff they shouldn't and unfortunately us little people always get shafted. Good luck with the job hunting for both of you!

Sethandrubysmum - thanks hun. I know he's fine in my gut, but I just end up doubting myself when other people start :ecomcity:, so not going again.

Babydesigner and ladybugblue84 - and welcome. I looooove this forum so much, whenever I ask my mum a question, she's like, well what do they say on bubhub??

I'll have to google where seven hills is, cos I don't remember... Hope to see you at the next meet.

QTB - That stinks!! Was your hubby in a union or something? It'd definitely be worth checking out to see if he has a case against them. I know the company I work say it's really hard to get rid of someone..............unless of course they get a huge redundancy payout or something. Can't hurt to look into it. In the meantime....................CONGRATS :D I had a suspicion it was you

Ladybugblue – Im new here too :D

QTB - Good luck to you and DH job hunting. I cant believe they did that to your DH, how disgusting!

KatKyle - I love this forum so much already. I was a regular on another forum but a feral member practically forced me to leave and the mods on that forum did nothing, and to think I was a paying and regular member *pfft*
Every one is so friendly and helpful here any way, no ‘groups’ where people stick with certain people and don’t respond to others. I like it here, think ill stay :D:p

Nothing to report here, Isabells beeing a angel at the moment. YAY.
What are you all buying bubs for chrissy? Im horrible, I havent even started yet, but I have no idea what to buy her.
Oh and if any of you wanna add me to FB my profile URL is http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=680277453&ref=profile

QTB & KatKyle thanks for the invite & I am sure to be there. Seven Hills is near Camp Hill, Norman Park, Morningside.

Bubhub is great! I did start coming on here occassionally when I was pregnant & googled questions & they had already been asked/answered on here! It's a great source of information.

I thought I'd tell you a little bit about me: First of all I'm 24 with a 7 month old little girl (as you can see from my signature) and I do have a partner but I have moved away from him as of last week as I feel he has some growing up to do. We lived at his parents house in an apartment style area under their house but I am currently staying with my dad. I can't wait to get my own place! My little girl is yet to crawl, get some teeth, clap & wave but all of this fun stuff is sure to come in the near future. This is such an exciting age I am finding as everything is on the cusp of happening! My little girl is what you would describe as a chubby bubby (always has been from about 2 weeks) and was 9.5kgs at last weigh in at 6 months. She is on the top of the scale for everything! My current dilema (apart from my relationship, living situation & financial position ;)) is April sleeping through the night - it has never happened! She wants to sleep with me but now with a single bed at dads place it's not very comfortable for me. I feel guilty about letting her cry in her portacot 'cause I feel like it's my fault she hasn't been able to get into a rhythm 'cause I move her around too much so I always give in & let her sleep with me. Once I have been at Dad's place for a little longer & she has gotten used to it I will try & convince her sleeping in her portacot all night is a good idea

Anyway that's me & I can't wait to get to know everybody else!!!! Chat later

Vicki – How is Natey going?

KK – Your business is really great! It is a fantastic idea you’re so clever! How is Thomas going?

Nic – Yeah I am loving my PT sessions and I actually feel like I am getting back into shape though it is costly but it was my b’day present :D I can’t believe the CHN told you that you were making Charli fat it’s cr@p I mean DP and his sister (and niece and nephew for that matter) were way bigger than Charli like DP is just funny to see his photos but now they are all healthy size so don’t worry what she says she’s silly! I hate it when they get over tired just makes things worse

Baby Designer – You were up late (or early) last night! Well we are definitely glad to have you and yes it is a great forum! Yay for Isabell being an angel! For chrissy we got Evie a FP baby grand piano and FP basketball ring and some books and dvds both of our parents are going nutso with the toy buying LOL so there is no need for us!

QTB – Oh sweety that sucks about DH has he spoken to his union? I think that’s illegal what they did? Are there any other companies he may be able to get work at? Big big :hugs: to both of you and big CONGRATS about number 3 so so exciting! Are you guys going to find out what you are having?

Rosie - :hugs: sweety, hopefully as they paed said it doesn’t mean much, I know a lot of people can have a gene like that and still be fine it may only present a probably if his future DW/DP have a child and they have the same sort of gene, but definitely ask to speak to a genetists who can give you all the facts!

CK – How are you going hunni?

Us – Well Evie is standing up on everything! And she has moments where she puts her bum in the are and then tries to stand on her own, eek I’m not ready for that just yet! What is everyone doing with there bonus from K-Rudd? I think I am going to get my cloth stash up (as DP was going to let me buy them but then said no we don’t have the money at the moment so yeah no excuse now lol) and I’m going to get Evie some new clothes!

Well anyway I must head off as Evelyn (lol I call her that when she is in trouble LOL) is now standing with the help of the coffee table and is banging her hands on it looking at me while trying to get everything on it LOL….does anyone else have a tantrum thrower already, we say no or take something away when she is misbehaving and man she chucks a big one lol….speak to you all soon hope everyone is well xoxox

Goodness - I haven't popped in here for a chat for ever!! How is everyone doing???? Think i just got to busy and always felt guilty for not having time to write personals.

Your new place looks awesome QTB - bet you can't wait to move in!!

Noah's Mum - Wow congratulations!!!!! Very excited to hear your news. Who else is cooking up their next bundle of joyfulness?

Well Miss Georgie is doing wonderfully. She is trying to crawl and rolls all round the place like a maniac trying to keep up with her big sisters. She also does this hilarious commando crawl on her back. She is turning out to be a bit of a character with her own way of doing things. Still no teeth - but a happy little eater regardless. Generally she is just a wonderful little 7 month old!

Ok - well a big 'Hello' to everyone and I'll try to find time to drop by a bit more often and get updated.

Hi ladies

I left as a 23 year old, I return as a 24 year old!!

The weekend was fantastic. Ryder's cousin turned one on Saturday so we went and stayed at DH'S sister's place in Melbourne.

His party was good. It wasn't a kids party, more like an adults party with kid's food (he slept through most of it anyway so it didn't matter). Nearlly all of DH'S family were there so we all just sat around, drank and ate.

Ryder got along very well with his cousin now that he can keep up. He is a lot rougher then his cousin, we can already tell who is going to be the leader out of those two:yes:.

On my birthday (Sunday) we went shopping at DFO. Mum and DH had both given me some money because I had absolutely no clothes. I'm a little stocked up now so I'm little bit happier. Now all I need is some more clothes at Winter.

JESS - Ryder is doing what Evie is doing. He is using everything (coffee table, couch, his toys) to stand up and lets go, stays standing by himself for about 10 secs before he falls.
He is growing up way too fast for my liking!!

He is starting to walk along holding on to the furniture aswell now, i'm really starting to freak out that he will be walking well before he turns one. He's such a handful now, I'm just not ready!
I love your idea for Evie's first birthday!!

LADYBUGBLUE84 - Welcome to April mama's. Do not be afraid to ask us anything, we are all here for each other and welcome you with open arms:wave:

BABYDESIGNER - Isabelle will start crawling before you know it and you will soon be longing for those days where all she did was stay in the same spot. Word of advice, start BABY PROOFING NOW!!! LOL. We left it a little too late:D

SILLYSIDE UP - Glad to hear Georgie is doing so well. Ryder doesn't have any teeth either yet (they are there, just haven't cut through).
Babies don't like to be left behind do they!!

SETH'SANDRUBY'S MUM - I'm glad to hear that Ruby's excema has cleared up.
Hope all is going well at the moment.

MISSUSS - How is everything? I'm with Jess, i'm interested to know what ideas you have for a first birthday party

QTB - I can't believe what they did to your DH. That is disgusting and it sure doesn't sound legal to me! People that treat their employees like that make me so angry:banghead:

LIDDY - Hope everything is going well with you and Jade. I saw you got finance for your new car - Congrats. I have to admit i'm a little jealous. I want one of those new holden station wagons. DH said we can look into buying one in a few years time.

KATKYLE - Hope all is well with you too. Hope to hear from you soon

ANGROC - I thought you were posting today?? I'm still waiting!! lol!!

The control crying did not work. He is still not sleeping and I'm sick of trying to force him. It's frustration and makes me want to pull my hair out but i've got my fingers crossed it's just a stage he's going through and that he will come out the other side soon.

Take care everybody!!

p.s - did we want to do a christmas card thing where we all send each other chrissy cards. Let me know if you're interested.:xmastree:

Hi Girls

Hails - there needs to be a little smiley with its tongue poking out  happybirthday

ssu - I hear you on the lack of time. I think that is why I havent been around much lately either. I feel guilty about not being able to get to everyone. Georgie sounds adorable. Her style of crawling sounds interesting lol.

Mel (QTB) - That completely sucks about Dan's job! Has he found anything else yet? Harlan is such a cutie, it was good seeing you guys on Friday.

S&R mum - Solid poos are pretty gross hey? They smell way worse than just BM ones!

Babydesigner - Hello and welcome

Majeevch - Evie sounds wonderful. Such a little character. I definately have a tanty thrower with miss Poppy. She has been doing it since she was about 3 months old. We get the whole arched back, red face and now we get feet kicking as well. It is a sight to behold when she is in full force!

ladybugblue84 - welcome to you as well. We would love to see you at our mothers group next year. They are a great group of mummies and it is great to just catch up and have a goss and eat lots!

mum2snugglebug - How are you? Work is nearly over for the year. Do you have any time off?

Noah's mum - Congrats!!! Wow, that was fast lol. You knw what they say, you have one then all you need to do is look at your hubby and your are preggers! I am glad it happened that way for you. Lots of :babydust2: for a nice sticky pregnancy.

Ashlyn - How are you and your beautiful twinnies? It must be nice having your DH around a bit more now that he has another chef.

Liddy - Wow! Another possible utd mum. Let us know how you go with the test. I am glad you have found a good man. He sounds like a keeper.

Us - We have been doing really well here. Poppy is almost crawling and getting quite frustrated with her inability to move forward. She is such a character and is really responsive to singing. Her fave is row row your boat (with actions of course). She loves the part when we throw Poppy overboard. Lots of giggles. She is sleeping really well during the day now but I will add myself to the unsettled bubbas list at night. I dont know what it is but over the last 4 nights she has had a good start to the night then from about 1am on she wakes constantly! I hope it is just a short term thing, I am shagged.
We are weaning from BF'ing now too. Poppy is having 2 bf's and 2 ff's a day now. After a shaky start, Poppy has really taken to formula which is great. I am def ready to have my boobies back! Even with the reduced feeds over the last couple of weeks, I am still producing enough milk to feed a small country. I think I will have to go to the docs and get the tabs to help dry up my milk.

I think that is us for now. Lots more has been happeing but nothing really noteworthy :)

Sorry to anyone I have missed :hugs:.

Have a good day girls :flowerz:

Ang and Poppy Mwah!

Hails the house is pretty baby proofed already, there is really only one concern and that’s the oven, its built into the bench so bub could easily get to it.
Angroc Thanks for the welcome =)

Isabell is being a bit unsettled today. Not sure if its more teeth but I cant see any  she just doesnt want to do anything but sook. Driving me a bit insane really.
Im lucky coz she sleeps thru the night, usually 12 hours but she has been known to sleep 15 hours before, but I cant let her do that other wise it messes up her daytime sleeps so once she hits 12 hours I have to wake her. She does have the occasional night where she will wake at 4am, but I havent had that for a very long time.
Im bored
Hi to every one else! Hope you and bubs are all great!

Max's birthday is April 1 and Gem's is April 28 and I wasn't sure whether to give Max his 'own' party for his 1st birthday but then we saw this fantastic act at a fair recently:

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=wZUMyOK358Q

They were awesome and had all the kiddies going off :D So I thought blow it, I'll just have a big combined party with these guys as the entertainers. So I guess it will be a cheeky little monkey party...........a cute unisex theme :D

I am just loving this age of Max right now...........so cute and cheeky!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well we had an appointment with the Maternal and Child Health Nurse yesterday.

All is good, he's dropped down in weight (only 8.39kilos) but she reackons it's normal to have a drop once they start moving (and boy is he moving!!).

He was trying to talk to her (which she thought was gorgeous) and even climbed up her leg at one stage into a standing position which she thought was hilarious. He definetly won her over:D

I asked her about his bad sleeping habits both during the day and night. I explained how we had tried control crying, having my shirt in the cot, having a stuffed animal in there, every bit of advice regarding sleeping we have recieved we have tried.

She told me to just go with him. She said that some babies do not repond as much as the parent can try, these babies are the stubburn, persistant type and as much as a parent will try and fight - they will never win.

She said he will grow out of it eventually and as long as we are comfortable with him in our bed, it's ok to do so.

She did however give one more peice of advice (LIDDY YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED TO TRY THIS TOO), put an old mattrise on the floor in your child's bedroom. When they wake up night, lie down with them on this mattrise, once they are asleep go back to your own bed.
It's far easier to sneak away then it is to put them back into their own bed.

This way, they are not in your space, they are still in their room and get used to staying in their own surroundings.

Worth a try!!!

Also she told me to start introducing finger food? Does anybody else do this and what do you use???

Mmm Dessert
26-11-2008, 08:16
Hails, Evie loves her finger food. I give her milk arrowroot biscuits, cruskits, pieces of chicken, bits of pasta. Anything that fits in her hands, really... She loves it, and it's a good way of keeping her occupied while we're eating dinner too.

I think you got some good advice from your MCHN. Sometimes you just have to remember that everyone is different and what works for one baby may not work for another. You can follow the 'rules' as much as you like, but if they continue to make you frustrated and upset then there's really no point. Good on you - it sounds like Ryder's just wonderful.

Ang, please please please tell me how you got Miss Poppy to take a bottle. I have less than six weeks until I go back to work and, despite my best efforts, she just won't drink from a bottle or cup. :hair::hair::hair::hair:

Ohh, it is a tricky one. We had been trying Poppy on the bottle for ages. I think it is more of when they are good and ready :o. Look at it this way as well, if she is hungry, she will drink. I made a point of not making the breast available when she was due for a feed but still held her as if I was bf'ing just subsitiuting with the bottle. I think with Poppy it is more the cuddle time with me that she enjoys (and I love that part too). Has your dh tried feeding her a bottle? I also found that as long as she couldnt see me she fed a bit better initially too. Most importantly I think is not to put too much pressure on yourself or on Evie. She will fight it even more.
Are you using formula or expressing breast milk in the bottle. Poppy refused to take bm in the bottle but went for the formula. I also mixed her farex and custard with formula so she had the taste for it.
Another thing I tried was to lay her down on a blanket where she can see me, while I potter around and give her a bottle with a bit of milk in it and just let her get used to it. She mainly played with it to begin with but as soon as she found out she could get something out of it she started feeding really well. I had to get the bottles with the handles for this to work. I think the teat is really important too. Does Evie take a dummy? Try and get a tea that is a similar shape to her dummy - she would be used to having that in her mouth, so then the teat wouldnt be too different to that.

I hope that helps. :) Good Luck.

Hails Isabell was one of those stubborn babies, Im just lucky the CC worked for her coz then I would have been all out of ideas. I havent started Isabell on finger foods yet, purely because she cant even get lumpy purees down, she gags on them and spits the lumps out, so im still working on that one!

Will&Evie Good luck, angroc gave you great advice there and it makes sense.

Isabell fell onto her head last night, I felt so guilty, and I couldn’t stop checking on her throughout the night. I was so scared she would have a head injury, but she appears to be normal. It was our first big accident and I was really shaken up by it.
I think she is cutting a 3rd tooth, but I cant be too sure. I think I can see a little swelling on her top gum, but she hates me looking in her mouth so I didn’t get a good look. She is also being a little bit sooky and seemingly very tired (she was like this yesterday so I don’t think its got anything to do with her falling on her head).

That’s all from me for now, Hi to every one else

Oh hello hello lovley ladies!!

As I always say after coming back for a while, that I'm always reading along I just don't seem to post!!

Here goes for what I can remember:

MissusS - Oh, those cheeky dancing monkey's are great! I was bopping along with them, the kids will love it! I have started thinking about the party yes, I seem to have more of an 'adults' party for their first couple of years but still with all the trimmings of a 'kids party'. Not sure what I'll do this year/sorry next! lol

Babydesigner - Welcome. How lucky are you having your little one sleeping through the night!! Man, I would kill to get more than 4 hrs at a time at the moment. I'm just starting to wean him today to see if that helps with him sleeping, I hope it works!! lol

Mel (QTB) - OMG, I can't believe what happened with your DH's job, I'm with everyone else, we own a business and know how hard it is to sack someone when you want to, it's very hard to do it by the books so to speak!! They have NOT done it legally so I would look into it! Oh, and congratulations on the BFP! how exciting, I'm thrilled for you, everything will be fine I'm sure, don't stress yourself out, not good for you or the bubs, you need to take care of yourself. xx

Hails - OMG, I can't believe Ryder is crawling and 8.3kg! what a little champ!! Glad to hear that all is going well for you now that you're a happily married lady! lol

seth&ruby's mum - That's great that you have an appointment tomorrow but it's better that you are feeling happy too!!! That's fantastic! Lachlan too is a finger food eater! I offer him toast with vegemite or avocado, vegemite sangas or avocado, rice cakes, cheese haven't done the arrowroot yet, but will buy some and I've just got some little pasta for him to try. He seems to be ok with lump bits too, a little gagging going on but I'd rather keep trying him on it as it gets them used to trying to swallow it!

Will&Evie - Oh yes, i give Lachie Chicken as well. I give him the drum stick to chew on, of course ridding of all dangerous bits, he loves it!! it occupies him while I'm cooking dinner as well so it's great! So you're trying the bottle thing too!! I agree with Angroc with all that she suggests. I'm lucky, lachlan takes a bottle not too bad! Yet to see today how he'll take it more than once per day though. I find that he definately drinks better when I'm not offering it too him so if you can get DH to give it to him, might be better for the beginning. They tend to smell you and your milk and would rather that, that's what I find too!! I'll keep reading along with you as I'm starting the weaning today! sad sad moment though. I think I'll try and keep one maybe two bf's going per day though, not sure!! see how things go. Good luck though.

Ladybugblue - Welcome, i'm a long termer but don't get on very much anymore, as much as I try but I'm a mum with 3 kiddies so life is pretty busy!! Hope you enjoy being here.

SSU - No teeth here either! I swear that Lachlan has been teething for months but no teeth are showing yet! My other two didn't get their first tooth until just after 9months so that's what I'm expecting to happen with Lachie. He's 8 months next week so it's hard to think that teeth will soon be coming!! arggghhh... Glad to hear that all is well.

Liddy - Congrats on the car! Nice car at that too, that's great. So, did you get a BFP?? I hope that you get the answer that you want. Jade is just gorgeous and sounds like you've got a happy little family on your hands. :)

Angroc - So, here we both are trying to wean!! could be a long week yet!! lol I'm expecting it take a full 2 weeks or so but that's ok, slowly does it! I think I'll try to bf at 7am, bottle at 11am, bf at 3pm then bottle at night and see if that works for me and then just cut one more bf out. what is your plan?? Lachlan has always been an unsettled baby wo I was in that group a loooong time ago! I think that they do go through small stages though!!

Well, I think that's about all I can remember for now! I'll keep up during the next couple of days and so a big hello to anyone that I've missed!! mwah.....

So, us, well, life is pretty busy but loving it all the same. Lachlan is now 72cm long and weighs 7.4kg, long and lean! He has 3 solid feeds per day and snacks in between on some days. he sleeps well while I'm out and about, sleeps great during the day but still a little turd at night! the last 4 nights for me also have been him not sleeping past 1am, he's having to come into our bed which we haven't had to do for months so I'm hoping that I'll get him out of that really soon. My DH is going away this weekend so I think I'll try the CC for those 3 nights while he's not here and disturbing him and see if that works. Between that and weaning, I think I'm in for some drinking of champagne to get me through!! LOL Other than that, he's just a little ball of fluff!! I love him to bits. He is sitting up all on his own now all the time but isn't crawling and still hates being on his tummy unless it's in the bath.

Glad to hear that all is going well with everyone, I must get some updated pics on here!!

Kristy, :hugs:. There's always someone here if you need us.

Mmalt and Ang, thanks so much for the tips. DP is always on bottle duty when he's not at work, but he gets a little impatient... I guess I'll just keep trying.

I'm actually wondering whether Evie's getting her top teeth at the moment. She's been very whingy, which isn't like her at all and, after a blissful week of sleeping through (which also isn't like her:p) she's started night waking again. She's also getting very frustrated that she can't crawl or stand and get to the things that she wants. I think I'm going to have a long few weeks until she works it out.

Hey Ladies

Just quickly posting whilst Ryder is in bed.

Something amazing happened last night, he went down at 8:30pm and did not get up again until 9:00am this morning!!!:yelclap:
I could not believe it!

I fed him some bread yesterday which he loved. He smooshed it and then tried to push it all into his mouth before he figured out it's not the most smartest thing to do. I also made some pasta and gave him some but he didn't like that too much because it had no sauce on it.
I'm going to boil up some potato and carrot tonight which he can eat whilst we are eating our dinner.

NOAH'S MUM - I'm truelly sorry to hear about your bad news.
I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through.
My thoughts are with you and your family during this trying time.:hugs:
I hope the storm passes soon and you are blessed with the beautiful baby that you deserve :fingerscrossed:
We are all here for you and wishing you the best.

MMALT - Wishing you all the luck for this weekend and your attempts at the control crying. Lachlan does sound so long and lean. Can't wait to see some updated photos!!!

SETHANDRUBY'S MUM - I am over the moon to hear that you are starting to feel happier with everything:smiliedance:.
Good luck with your appointment tomorrow.
Ruby sounds like she is going so well!

BABYDESIGNER - - Ryder was spitting out the lumps too at the beginning. I found that if I kept the spoon in his mouth until he had taken it all off the spoon he ended up swallowing it because he wasn't given the chance to spit it out.
It still works.

Kristy, I am praying that everything turns out ok for you.

QTB, I sort of remember your DH was let go from his job a few months ago and wasn't this one his new job? The reason I ask is cause if he was on a one month trial they can let you go after the month if they feel you weren't performing (that could be their excuse). If this wasn't his one month trial and he had a signed contract etc I would find out if there was a reason for letting him go, was there any problems or whatever, if not then I would definitely look into getting some legal advise.

We're off to the Dr, I feel like I live there. Myles only has a cold and I feel like an idiot bringing him to the Dr but his breathing has gotten very fast so I just want to be sure. I am such a time waster taking up a spot another patient could have used.

Hope your all well and I am praying for you Kristy.

Kristy - :hugs::hugs:. I dont know what to say to you so I will send you big hugs instead. My thoughts are with you hun.

Cora - concern for your baby is never time wasting with the doctors. It is always better to be safe rather than sorry! I hope Myles feels better soon :)

Hails - You lucky thing! Yay for Ryder sleeping through. I worked out last night that the last time I had a solid nights sleep was about 10 months ago. Yay for the third trimester and a bladder the size of a pea!

W&E - your dp sounds like my dh! The patience of a gnat! I ask him to put Poppy to bed and 2mins later he comes out saying she isnt tired! Good luck with the weaning. I hear you on the whingy bub too! Poppy has been constant. Alot of it stems from frustration with crawling too I think!

Mmalt - Good to hear from you. Lachie sounds exactly like Poppy. We have been weaning for the last 2 weeks and I am reluctant to give up all of the bf's. They are especially handy if Poppy wakes during the night, no bottle to make.

Babydesigner - Dont feel too bad about Isabell falling. Whe Poppy was 8 weeks old I tripped up the stairs and dropped her. I can relate to the feelings of guilt. As all the lovely mummies said on here, there is no point beating yourself up about it as accidents happen. Our little bubbs are tougher han we give them credit for I think.

Hey ladies

WE HAD ANOTHER FULL NIGHTS SLEEP LAST NIGHT!!!!:yelclap:

Well, atleast it was until I woke him up.

I had a nightmare that he had stopped breathing and woke up in a panic. It was 4:00am and I just couldn't shake that something was wrong with Ryder. I went into his bedroom and couldnt' see his chest moving so I tried to find his pulse which woke him up;)

He was fine, but the dream just seemed so real, I quite happily put him in our bed this morning:p

BEX - Hope everybody recovers pretty quickly. I hate the flu!

SPARKLEY MUM - How did your doctors appointment go?? Is it just a cold?

ANGROC - I hope you can share in the amazement of a full nights sleep soon. Oh I woke up and felt so refreshed. Normally I'm a zombie from morning till bed time at night, but not yesterday! Truelly amazing.
I have my :fingerscrossed: you're next!

Myles has croup. It was a terrible night again last night, it was touch and go as to whether we were goign to have to bring him to hospital but we lasted out the night and I think his breathing is a little better today, it still sounds like like an 80 year old smoker with lung disease but its slowed down alot, so he's not gasping. The cough is a bit worse but thats ok. He's day 3 with the cough now and it usually lasts 3-5 days.

I am totally and utterly exhausted. I've had hardly any sleep for 3 days and Myles is not sleeping at all during the day as he gets really distressed when lying down, so no rest at lunch time for me. I am hoping DH will be a bit of help to me this weekend but he is a bit rubbish when it comes to helping with the kids. He loves cuddling them but when it comes to the feeding, bathing, changing and anything else that involves work he's just rubbish.

I am hoping we have a good weekend, we have lots on, i will have to try and cover the black bags under my eyes with alot of make-up.

Is everyone getting ready for christmas now? I cant wait to decorate the place. My house is so drab but when the decorations are up it looks great. I wish I could leave them up all year round hahaha. Aimee is bursting to get the tree up. Everyday she asks 'mum, is it Christmas now?'

I hope Myles gets better soon sparkley - and you get some much needed rest! We put up our tree yesterday, Liam is obsessed. He came out of his room after his nap yesterday and ran to me and said Muuuuuum - theres a tree! LOL - I had put it up when he was asleep.

Hails - you lucky thing! Scary about the dream though - I've had to wake bub a few times in a panic as well.

Bex - hope your house feels better soon.

Kristy - I'm sorry to hear that :(

I am about to take the kids to the doctor - Liam is covered in spots on his arms, legs and tummy and Millie has just sprouted some on her tummy. They have both had flu symptoms this week so hope its nothing too bad!

Hi all! Sounds like there are a few sick bubs, kids & mums I hope everyone gets well soon

sparkleymum I cannot wait to get the decorations out at my Dad's place - I have been trying to hold out until the first of December tho.

At the moment I am doing all the paperwork required in a break-up involving a child. There is so many people I have to ring & so much on hold music. I haven't even really had a chance to deal with the emotional side yet as there is just so much to do & I rarely get any time to myself staying at my dads where 4 other people live. I'm just holding out for when I will be able to get my own place & get my life back on track again.

April is still not crawling yet & for some reason I just can't wait for her to start even though I am aware I might wonder why I couldn't wait after she starts & I can't keep my eyes off her for a second ;) She is still not sleeping through the night -far from it in fact waking at about 10pm, 2-3am, 4-5am & getting up at about 6-7am (this was last night anyway). Thinking I might try & start one of those routines from the "Save our Sleep" book & see how it goes. It will be amazing when she starts to sleep through & I am sure I will wake thinking she must not be breathing at first!

Ah does anyone know if its bad to make a baby sleep in a portacot for a prolonged period as it is a bit harder than a cot mattress? April has been sleeping in her portacot since I have been out at Dad's (half the time prob spent in my bed though) & I am starting to worry that it might be a bit uncomfy for her???

Anyway better get going I hope to check back soon

yep thats right, he got told a month ago that they had onsold the cardboard contract, but he went with the contract, his work contract goes with him. so he was still permanant at the new place, which means they have to give notice to him, or pay him out. they havent done either, we have sent emails etc, and yesterday Daniel got onto the workplace rights Obundisman, so now they will make them pay dan.

anyway,

Kristy - my heart is totally breaking for you sweets, i know what you mean about bad luck ttc :hugs: i dont know whats happening here still.

Sleeping through is Ryder's new routine - 8:30pm - 9:00am!!! I can't believe it. This has happened for four nights in a row and I can't believe how well I feel after having a full nights rest (sorry, I'm not boasting (not intentionally) I'm just astonished!!)
I don't remember feeling this good after a full nights sleep before him, weird huh, the things we took for granted before children!!

We went shopping yesterday and bought some christmas presents for Ryder. We are not going over board, I don't think kids his age really need a lot of toys, just enough to entertain in times of need.:p
It was both frustrating and exciting, i'm not one for crowds so after a few hours I had had enough!

Ryder has bruises all over his forehead from standing up on the furniture and then trying to walk whilst holding on. He's not had much luck past 2 - 3 steps yet but he is so determined to get it. You can see his brain calculating what he wants to do, he sizes up how far he has to travel and then tries to do it.

I need to give him a slow down pill:laughing:

We have needles tomorrow morning (how fun), i'm hoping he doesn't get as grumpy afterwards as he normally does.

Will do personals tomorrow when I have more time - see ya

Hi Girls,

Cora - Phew! Lucky you took Myles to the doc. I hope he gets better soon :) Boo for Mr Avon not helping much. DH can kind of be like that too. Its like I have to point out really obvious things that need doing or I end up doing it all. My prob is though, I usually just think I will do it myself to save the drama!

Hails - Good for you having Ryder sleeping through. I hope he keeps with that routine now! I am not goign to say too much, but Poppy has been sleeping a bit better the last couple of nights too. I hope she keeps it up, waking 5 times a night is getting tough!

QTB - Empolyers can be buggers hey? Hopefully the company pays Dan out sooner rather than later. Did he have a written agreement with them? Are you having probs too??? Aww, I hope not. My fingers are crossed for you :fingerscrossed:.

ladybugblue84 - I think the porta cot should be ok for the time being but as you said April may be a bit uncomfortable in it long term. Can you set up her cot? That may have something to do with her waking so much during the night?? I was the same with Poppy crawling. She has been nearly crawling for the last 2 weeks and finally started really moving on Sunday. The whingeing has dropped noticeably too

Bex - Sorry you and your family arent feeling well. We are getting over the same thing here. How is the new house? I bet you are glad to be settled before xmas.

CK - How did you go at the doctor. I hope the spots werent anything serious. Its been pretty hot, maybe heat rash?

Kristy - Heres another :hugs:. I hope you are ok?

Liddy - How are you hun? You havent posted for a bit. Do you have any news??

Us - Well, as I said, Poppy is finally moving forward instead of backward. She finally worked it out lol. She has been an absloute rotter when it comes to sleeping at night with the exception of the last 2 nights, although I am not holding my breath that it will stay that way! We put our xmas tree up on Saturday - I jus couldnt wait any longer. We got all these new decorations and I wanted to see them in action  I was thinking Poppy wuld take a real interest in it but has so far ignored it! A good thing I suppose! Poppy has started clapping. She claps a couple of times then realises what she is doing, plasters a huge smile on her face, looks at me and claps away! Its georgous!

Thats it for us. Hi to everyone reading along . Stop being slackers and let us know how you are doing lol.

Ang and Poppy Mwah!

Hello ladies, how you all doing?

QTB - hows the job search going for both of you? Fingers crossed for you both...

Ang - thats so cute about the clapping. Thomas hasn't got to that yet.

CK - how the spots doing? did you get a diagnosis?

Hails - good luck with the slow down pill... Thomas needs one of those too! Especially when trying to change him the rotter! Won't lay still...

Sparkley - hope Myles is doing better.

As for us, moving along nicely. thomas had tests done to see if there was a reason why he hasn't been putting weight on a quickly as 'they' would like, and everything has come back normal. So I am no longer worried about it!!! Yay!!

He is now pulling himself up onto furniture and toys etc, he just loves standing up!! He will also walk when on fingers etc, so cute..

And - he is now cutting his first tooth. Growing up so quickly, its scary!

I had a call yesterday from my old old boss, two jobs ago, and he offered me a job. Its on the north side, but sounds like almost too good to turn down. He mentioned working from home, and flexible hours etc so def something to think about.

Just wondering though, can I cut out the lunch time breastfeed and will it affect my supply for the rest of the feeds????? Anyone???

Thanks, and there is now only 23 days until Christmas!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!

KATKYLE - You lucky thing about the job - I'm so jealous!! I hope it all falls into place for you. Sounds perfect!

ANGROC - I really have my fingers crossed that you are next with getting a full nights sleep. Yay for Poppy working out how to move forwards!! It's all bumps and bruises from here on in!! lol!

We had the needles yesterday. Ryder was really grumpy all day and did not want to be put down. He slept well last night though and is back to his usual self today.

WE FINALLY HAVE A TOOTH!!:yelclap: It is down the bottom, on of the front two. He bit my ear last night, that's how we discovered it. No wonder why he's been gnawing on my coffee table:laughing:

I have recently applied for a job as a secretary working 8 - 12 hours a week. I'm waiting to hear back.

Hope all is good with everyone else and hope to hear from you all soon

Hi All, I love this thread as I can see what all of the other babies April's age are up to! Some very quick learning bub's out there too!!!! April has started crawling in directions other than backwards, YAY, but only about 2 "steps" sorta things. It's so cute seeing her do the motions tho. I give it a week & she will be doing the full fledged crawl. She is also trying to pull herself up on things but only gets to her knees & eventually falls forward. I guess it doesn't help the thing she's pulling herself up on is not stable but a toy mirror thing. I think it's funny she's trying to pull herself up when she hasn't even learnt how to crawl properly yet? I'd be thinking I'll master this before I move onto my next challenge ;)

Angroc thanks for the feedback. Yea I can go get her cot but I am trying to avoid my ex-partner & he is always home. I also think it might make him angry so have been putting it off. But making April comfy & potentially helping her sleep through the night means so so much more! Also if crawling stops the winge factor I am gonna be on the ground encouraging April to crawl full-time until she gets it!!! Oh & I have been trying to teach April to clap did Poppy learn it all by herself?

hailsntwang I am sooooo jealous! How I wish April would sleep through the night but 8.30pm-9am oh that sounds ideal! Seriously I am just not functioning right due to sleep deprivation & I am just so frustrated. I have a few tricks up my sleeve which I am going to try on April & I hope in a week or two I will start to see some progress :fingerscrossed:

As for Christmas gifts for April I was thinking a computer keyboard, a mobile phone, some keys, an xbox remote, some TV remotes, some random cords, a big bundle of junk mail or a newspaper (heck I'll give her both), a wet washer from the bath, a baby wipe (both of these to suck on) & a bright light she can stare into! Seriously these are the things she seems to love the most but I am always trying to keep her away from! I think she would be in heaven if I gave her all this ;) I'll probably try & find variations of these i.e. a toy computer keyboard.

Also YAY for the tooth!!!

KatKyle congrats on the test results & the flexible job how nice for it to have sort of fallen into your lap!

Anyway just wanted to check back, talk to you all again soon...

Thanks Hails and Ladybugblue for your congratulations. yep, am going in to MD's (work) on the 15th of December to see how it all works (again, just to make sure it hasn't changed too much) and then will probly start on the 29th of December. Scary that it fell into my lap, but if he keeps all the promises he's made, it will be awesome!!

Ladybugblue - thats so funny about what you 'should' get April for Christmas. It's pretty much what I 'should' get for Thomas cos the list is pretty damn similar.

I would exclude xbox remote, since we don't have one, but include CD's, my glasses, and the blinds. And it would be a perfect day I think!!!!! Oh, and the wrapping paper....

What he's actually getting will be a whole lot different, but hopefully he'll like it all just as much! Or at least play with the packaging that it all comes in!

NOAH'S MUM - I have my fingers crossed for you today. You will be in my thoughts:hugs::hugs:

I have a dilema. A job has come up which is full time. I'm quite confident I can get it as I worked closely with these people whilst I was at the Council and always got great reviews, I just don't know if i'm ready to go back full time. Yes the money would be nice but is it worth missing out on family time. Apparently this job requires you to work some weekends and public holidays in addition to Monday to Friday.

I am seriously freaking out about it and want to do the right thing. Please help!

Angroc
04-12-2008, 08:18
Noah's Mum - :hugs:. I hope all goes well for you today.

Hails - Hmm, its a tricky one. I guess you should ask yourself some questions. Do you really want to be away from Ryder all week as well as some weekends? Is the money that good to justify it? Will the cost of child care wipe out your earnings? Is the job a 'love' job or just a 'like' job? It comes down to personal choice I suppose. I chose to give up my 'love' job because I knew Poppy wasnt happy in her centre and unfortunately day care costs didnt justify me working. There is alot you have to look at. Good luck. I will be looking at going back to work part time probably in Feb but only for a max of 24hrs a week. I just dont want to be away from Poppy .

Kat - that is great news about Thomas. Did the docs just put it down to a fast metabolism? Good luck with your job :)

lbb84 - Bummer about your ex always being there. I dont think he will begrudge April a good nights sleep though. I am suprised he didnt help you move April's things when you left.
Poppy did the whole clapping thing by herself. I dont think she knew what she was doing. I started making a big deal - laughing and smiling - out of it and sang a song about clapping with her and now she does it all the time. Good luck with the crawling :)

DH and I had a heart attack last night. We saw flying termites around our house! I am hoping like nothing else we dont have them. We have a guy coming out to do a termite inspection early next week. :fingerscrossed: they havent decided to make a meal out of our house. We are all ready for xmas. I cant beleive how organise I am. The tree is up, presents are wrapped and under the tree, all the non perishables have been brought for xas day. All I have to do is go shopping on xmas eve for groceries! I am NEVER this organised.

Have a good day girls

Ang and Poppy mwah!

KatKyle
04-12-2008, 11:09
Ang - Fingers crossed for the inspection!! Scary stuff....

Hails - Hmm, good luck making that decision. I guess it comes down to your pros and cons list! List what you would like about going back to work, and what you would like about staying at home. Whichever has more on it, is probably the way you want to go....

I don't want to go back to full time work personally, and am freaking out about leaving Thomas for two days!!! And he'll be with his daddy!!! Hmm, Mums, what can you do.....

Noahs mum - good luck with your appointment today. I have my fingers crossed for you... Nothing wrong with the night fill job if it fulfills your needs! Sounds like a perfect fit to me!!!! I was even contemplating doing something like that myself, and we'll see how this job goes, who knows, might still be on the cards!

22 sleeps until Christmas ladies, how exciting!!!

Hi Girls

I'm here reading along just having a very difficult time with Evie, DP and studying at the moment...

basically DP gives into Evie everytime she whimpers and now refuses to settle unless she sleeps with him and it's driving me nuts but because apparently I don't get up at night (my lupus gets really bad at nights) then I really don't have a say in how things are run at night which just means I get pushed out of bed and she is so over tired because she doesn't sleep properly and I don't sleep properly so its all blah

Plus we are fighting about xmas and money and where we are living it's just all cr@p, bascially we got a massive bill for our energy and I'm spending too much (which is bull) and he doesn't want to move because he likes the lifestyle down here but I can't continue to live pay check to pay check and I can't get a job down here there is nothing.....so right now not sure on everything its just all doing my head in...

Plus evie is being so clingy during the day that I can't get any housework done and am struggling to get my study done.

I promise I'll try to get personals back done, sorry about the blah rant.

Kristy - :hugs: have been thinking of you sweety! Big big :hugs: and I have my :fingerscrossed: everything is ok.

Hi Everyone,
Well we have had a nightmare week and thank god its all over. Myles went into respiratory distress (sever difficulty breathing) during his sleep on Saturday night and ended up in hospital. It was so scarey, I was in complete pieces. I have cried so much over the last few days I don't think I even have a tear left inside me. It was due to the croup, the swelling just got so bad that he couldn't breath. He had steroids in hospital and it decreased the swelling within about 2 hours and he was breathing normally again. On Monday, I guess the steroid effect had well worn off and he had some mild breathing difficulties, like wheezing and fast breathing, sucking in his chest etc, so more Doctors and two massive doses of steroids later he is now better. yesterday was his first day being well.
It was so frightening, his breathing was pretty bad for days before the respiratory distress. I don't know if I should have gone to hospital days earlier, everyday i thought it was so bad I should go but DH said no he'll be ok. So I dont know. The Drs did say there is a good chance this could be a recurring thing now until he's about 3 so next time I will go straight to the hospital instead of waiting.

Sorry I haven't read everyones news, I am pretty exhausted and feel sick (probably from lack of sleep for the last 6 nights). So I am going now to relax.
Hope everyone is well and looking forward to Christmas.

Angroc

Cora - Big hugs! You must have been so worried! Poor little Myles. At least he is on the mend now and you know what to look for next time. What a scare. You take it easy and relax now, you have earned it!

Majeevch - Sorry to hear things arent going well for you at the moment. Unfortunately the money issue is a fairly universal problem. What one person sees as an issue the other person doesnt. Can you live in the same area but move to a cheaper house? Evie sounds just like Poppy at the moment. She wont play unless I am sitting there with her, she whines when I get up and walk out of the room for 2 seconds. It is hard to get anything done!

Kat - Have you left Thomas with his dad for any period of time before? I have found that by leaving Poppy for a couple of hours at a time its been ok. I had to take my dad to the airport last weekend and was gone for 6 hrs and DH and Poppy were fine. The first time was really traumatic for both DH and Poppy but they got over it lol. Maybe you can start going out by yourself for a couple of hours at a time and leave the boys to it :)

KatKyle
05-12-2008, 11:52
Ang - Yeah, Kyle has looked after Thomas a few times. He gets him for an hour or so three times a week when I go to the gym, and he ha also had him a few times at night when I've had jobs (weddings or 21st's etc) to do.

He doesn't do so well at night, but during the day should be fine. I hope to only have to be away for 6 hours during the day.

Will find out in two weeks anyway!!

Cora - that must have been so scary - I hope things are better now!

Hi All,

Noah's Mum I hope all is Ok with you after yesterday. Nightfill sounds like an ideal job in that you get to spend all day with your little boy. If only they had marketing jobs that worked those hours!

hailsntwang it's quite a dilema. I myself only finished uni a year or so before I had my bub so I have a strong desire to want to get back into the field & work my way up. It doesn't help that I feel all my friends who are child-free are outdoing me in the career path stakes (I am a bit competitive) but I feel that I want to spend more time with my little girl. I'm thinking I'll go back to part-time work beg next year & I try not to look on careerone or seek to see what opportunities are passing me by.

Angroc my x is still quite angry (& hurt) I have left so wouldn't be suggesting helping me move  luckily his parents are very nice & know how difficult he is & they brought out April's cot & change table this morning. She is sleeping soundly in her cot now & I am rejoicing that I no longer need to bend in half to try & comfort her in the porta cot ;)

I am sure the clapping & crawling will come in their own time but I love encouraging her to learn. It will be good when it all clicks in her head & she realises she's got it!

Majeevch sorry to hear you are going through a rough patch. Living paycheck to paycheck is never fun. April is also clingy & it can get very annoying, she doesn't play by herself for very long. Angroc I was hoping learning how to crawl might elleviate this? I know you mentioned it helped the winge factor? Anyway Majeevch I hope things start working out for you.

sparkleymum it really does sound like a nightmare experience. *touch wood* April has not been sick yet but I can't even imagine how it would feel to see your baby in such a sick state. My sisters bub was admitted to hospital with a urinary tract infection & a strand of the rotorvirus at 6 months & I really don't think I could have handled it as well as she did. Sounds like you handled/are handelling it well & you must be so relieved & grateful that your little boy is feeling well again.

KatKyle I don't really like to leave April either for long periods of time (I leave her to duck out all the time). I am a bit of a control freak & think others won't know how to do it right. The only exception to this is XDP mum, she looks after April well & will be who I am leaving April with when I go back to work (YAY no childcare fees) but anyway what I meant to say is I did leave April with XDP once & he did really well & was so proud of himself! It made me happy to see him happy with himself & made me feel glad that he could look after April! I just gotta let him learn. Dunno if your reasons are similar but it might be good to step back for a couple of days. It will give Kyle a chance to bond more & take more responsibility. I found leaving her a little longer each time really helped. Now I have split with DP I have to leave her for longer anyway so he gets decent time with her too.

Anyway this post is prob really huge so better go. Chat later

KK - RE your breastfeeding question - no, giving up the lunch time feed should not affect your supply. Over time they have less and less anyway, so it's just speeding along the natural progression of things. Anyway... keep up the good work and well done for BF this long :)

Hails - RE your job question... I don't think I'd go back to work for any amount of monet. That's just me though. I don't think I could put a price on this time with Lily. I'll never get another chance to have this time again. But you do what you feel is best in your heart of hearts. If you need the money hun then there isn't much choice.

Kristy - Good luck, will be thinking of you.

Ang - Well done on being so organised for christmas! You superwoman you :)

Jess - *hug* Have you heard of a book 'Save Our Sleep' by Tizzie Hall. Seriously has saved my sanity. Both you and Matt should have a read for sure.

Cora - My gosh! So sorry to hear about poor little Myles! But you know what, I am so happy to hear he's OK. Take care and have a good rest.

As for us... Lily has got one bottom tooth and one on the way. She's sleeping heaps better now, sometimes going from 7pm to 7am which is just fabulous! I'm so looking forward to her first christmas, I've been wrapping all her presents this evening and I'm so excited. She's into everything now. She doesn't crawl yet because she gets around so well just rolling. But she's happy doing that so I'm happy :) I'm not in any hurry for her to crawl. Things with Elliot are going good, still on the road to getting back together sometime in the future (I think), but slowly slowly, I'm in no hurry to rush into anything.

Anyway, I'll try keep up a bit better from now on haha

ladybugblue - Thanks for that. Yeah, I'm confident he'll be fine, that they will both be fine. I start on the 15th, so only have a week, and he's sick at the moment, so I'll probly just leave it till then. He doesn't have a choice now anyway....

Melc - Yay!!! So good to hear from you and get an update on Lily... Thomas was the same with the rolling thing. He didn't need to do anything else for ages, but just in the last four days, he has mastered crawling and now wants to pull himself up on things and start walking!!!!!! And it feels like it literally happened overnight!

Thanks for the answer re bf. I want to continue until at least 12 months, so we'll just see how it all goes!

Thanks for the answer re bf. I want to continue until at least 12 months, so we'll just see how it all goes!

No probs :) I want to keep going til 12 months too. Don't forget the breastfeeding section on bubhub and the ABA if you ever need any support or need a question answered. Goodness knows, the bubhub breastfeeding thread has saved me a worry or two. I'm so glad I stuck with it through the difficulties, it's one of my fave things to do with my bubba :goodvibes:

Anyway... we're off to State Swim today for an intro talk about lessons and hopefully Lily will start lessons next week! Then I've got my nephew's birthday party tomorrow at adventure world (rides, water slides etc) so that should be lots of fun too :)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend x

Hi everyone,

We're still around very messed up mummy here don't know what to do anymore am facing some big decisions very stressful and upset will speak soon!

Majeevch - I hope you are ok? If you need to chat feel free to pm me. DH and I have also had a bit of a rough patch lately - thankfully though we have been able to put things in perspective and work things out. Big hugs. I think this time of the year puts alot of stress on relationships.

S&R mum - It seems like you have a more positive outlook with counciling to look forward to next year. You have to love a new year, lovely fresh start :). Lol about Ruby sucking your finger, it obviously did it for her haha.

Melc - Good to hear from you :). Let us know how the swimming lessons go. I would love to start Poppy early next year too. I think it is really important for bubs to learn to at least know how to keep their above water. You never know hey? Yay for things going well with Elliott. One step at a time huh? Lucky you with Lily's sleep! I would love to have a full nights sleep, I can dream though lol.

Lbb84 - It is good you have a decent relationship with your ex in laws. April must be a different bubba sleeping in her cot now. It must be good for you too lol. Nice having your bed to yourself haha? As Kat said with the clapping, crawling and climbing, it all seems to have happened overnight. Poppy went from zero to 100 overnight. It is hard to keep up with her now lol.

Poppy had her last BF on Saturday night :( I was ready to stop and I also noticed that Poppy was getting more excited about the bottle than the boob. I am definately glad to have my boobs back - as is dh lol. I will def miss bf'ing though.

Poppy got into the xmas presents yesterday and now I have to rewrap 2 presents - not hers of course! I got it all on video too the cheeky monkey. She was having a great time lol.
We have a super busy week this week. I am looking after my nephew who is on school hols, babysitting a friends kids today, having the termite man and tree loppers come over on Thursday and Friday and my inlaws are coming to spend the day tomorrow. I am looking forward to the weekend!

I hope you all have a great day, the weather is beautiful in Brisvegas today. Not too hot or humid and lovely blue skies!

Ang and Poppy Mwah!

Hey ladies

I withdrew my application on the job. I have decided I want to be a part time employee and a full time mum, not the other way around.
Everything happens for a reason and the right job with the right hours will come along soon.
DH was really supportive so that helped a lot.

JESS - I hope all is ok, I'm here if you want to talk.

Anyway i'm not feeling to crash hot today so just a quick one to let you all know I'm here and alive (only just, I feel awful).

Will pop back on tomorrow if I'm feeling better

Take care

Hey ladies

Besides the lack of sleep I'm feeling much better today:yes:

I couldn't work out why I couldn't sleep last night. It turns out the cold and flu tablets I took last night are day ones and cause Sleeplessness. :p

I'm not doing much today. I've already done two loads of washing. I've gotta clean the house and then I'm off to Mum's cause she is on holidays.

Hope all is ok with everybody.

Has anyone heard from Liddy??

Gotta go change a smelly bum - seeya for now

Hiya  beautiful mummas, remember me? It's been a loooooong time between posts and this one's just a quickie to say hi and promise to do some personals ASAP!

It's great keeping up with some of you on facebook but i am missing the bub hub updates. The twins are no longer eating/sleeping/pooping machines but are now becoming a couple of real people (and handfuls) so my internet time is pretty limited.

Astrid and Rylan are the most beautiful, placid and happy babies, I am a very lucky mummy. They each have two teeth now and are not quite crawling but scooting around on their bellies so fast and getting up on hands and knees to rock so it won't be long now til the proper 'cross crawl' begins. The safety gates are all in place and the playpen is around the xmas tree!

They are having a lovely long sleep atm and Freya is back at pre-school after two weeks off sick. We have all been hit really hard with this rotten cold virus and no one is getting much sleep with all the coughing. Freya is well enough now but still coughs at night and the twins and I are still suffering. It really sux. I think one of the worst things about being a mum is when you're sick and you can't just collapse in a heap or go to bed; you have to keep being selfless when it's the last thing you want to do.

Anyhow, we are all looking forward to christmas as i am sure you are too and especially those of you for whom it's your first chrissy with a child. I really think that christmas is so much better with kids. Apart from anything else, it's a chance for us to be kids again!

I am sending lots of love and positive energy to those who need it atm. I'll try to catch up on what's going on and post some personals, but I have read along enough to gather that some of you are having a hard time of it and my thoughts are with you.

Lots of love, Kate xxx :hugs:

Hi every one,
Its been a while since Ive posted. I never really get around to it. When Isabell is asleep DF uses the computer, when she is awake he does the housework so I have to look after Isabell with no time to sit down and have my time.
Isabell is being a real pain for me. Im getting sick of her. Im getting sick of being a mum.
Its like she hates me. Like she is bored with me. I spend so much time with her, i do so many things with ehr and for her. But she is never happy with that. She cant just play with me, she cant just play with herself, wont sit and relax with me, watch TV, nothing. All she wants to do is do this rediculous forced cry.
I try and feed her and thats a battle, she wants the food but does this rediculous thing with her tongue and pushes the spoon out, or growls so the food splatters out, or even closes her mouth when the spoon is half in and the food comes off the spoon.
She only drinks half her bottles, so I go through bottles like there is no tomorrow, but I dont have the time to do more coz she just wants to scream her face off at me.

When daddy is awake of course she is a perfect angel, and I dont think he believes me.

Im really having a hard time atm, and Im really struggling. I dont know what her problem is or why she is being like this, but i really cant do this any longer. i feel like telling DF to stop working these rediculous hours so that he can actually help me for once!

I feel so angry right now, and all I want to do is cry!

oh Meg, my heart goes out to you, it sounds like your going through a hard time. being a mum can be really tough. It sounds like you are doing everything you can think of.
Is bubs teething? Have you tried some panadol or nurophen incase she is in pain. What about the milk, is this a new formula? perhaps its not agreeing with her (obviously if she's always been on this formula then thats not it). What foods are you spoon feeding? have you tried something like parsnips and carrots (lovely and sweet) pureed with some philidelphia cream cheese? babies love that its sweet but creamy and a nice consistance so easy to swallow.
The other thing I wanted to ask was if you think there is a chance you could have post natal depression? how do you feel you have coped over all since bubs was born?

i think it would be a good idea to bring bubs to see the Dr, just to be sure there is nothing wrong and maybe have a chat yourself. There is no harm in just having a chat to see what the Dr thinks.

good luck, i hope things get better soon

Cora, I think that advice is spot on.

Meg, we all have days when we struggle to be a mum. While this can be a beautiful age for our babies, it's also incredibly frustrating. They have so many new things going on (learning to crawl, learning to self settle, starting solids) that it can all seem to be a bit much for them. I know Evie has been a lot more clingy and whingy lately. Believe me: you are not alone.

Hails, in answer to your Liddy question, I think I read somewhere that she wasn't happy with the response she got to her possible pregnancy on BH, so she left. I noticed that most of us were removed from her fb too. Whatever. Bit childish if you ask me...

We're all still plodding along here. Evie's getting really frustrated that she can't crawl anywhere, but apart from that she's still wonderful. We went to the Wiggles yesterday and had a great time. Will danced up a storm, and Evie slept through the whole thing. Glad we didn't have to pay for her ticket!!!

BABYDESIGNER - I'm so sorry I didn't come on yesterday and read your post. I've been so sick but it looks like you've been struggling quite a bit too.
I hope things settle down for you, the advice cora gave you is worth considering. Even if you go to your GP just to talk.
Thankyou for trusting us and telling us exactly how you are feeling so we can help.
I hope things improve for you soon. I know Ryder can be difficult like that sometimes so I just walk away and go outside for a few minutes. If you take yourself out of that situation even for a few minutes, when you go back in you feel like you can survive and that the world isn't going to come crashing down.

We are all here for you.

JESS - I hope things with you're situation are looking a little bit sunnier. I don't fully understand what is going down but I know that you dont' sound too happy.
We are also here for you and evie. If worst comes to worst, come for a little holiday to my neck of the woods. I live only 4 hours away, would be lovely to meet you!

WILL & EVIE - I hadn't even noticed that Liddy took me off her Facebook. I didn't think I was being unsupportive, just telling her to be cautious and not to throw all her eggs into one basket so quickly. I think it's a real shame that she acted this way, when we have been so supportive of her all along. I kinda hoped that she would've noticed that.
I really do hope that things turn out the way she wants them all to. :o

ASHLYN - Long time no hear!! That's fantastic that the twins are doing so well! They must really be keeping you on your toes!!

As for me, I'm still not feeling the best. DH has a christmas party on tonight and I'm not really sure I'm going to be able to make it.

Mum has taken Ryder for the day so I can stay at home and rest. Gosh this thing is really doing my head in. I never used to be sick for long but ever since I had Ryder, when I get sick, I really get sick. It seems to hang around for ages no matter what I do.

Hope everybody else is doing well and will chat soon - luv ya

Hi Lovely Ladies

I've been reading along when I can, love hearing all your updates...........time is such a premium for me these days!

Max has also been sick over the last few days. We tried a tiny bit of potato with him Sat night and he got sick the next day so I was thinking it was linked to that but my GP said no he's picked up an URTI. His ears were infected and his chest was crackly..........my GP was quite worried about giving him his 1st lot of anti-biotics seeing he's such an allergic baby but we had no choice this time because he could have gone onto get pnuemonia, plus ear infections are so nasty. Luckily he's been OK with the AB's so far apart from the odd screaming session where I think he gets tummy pain from the liquid he's not used to.

Hanging out for our gastroenterologist appt on Monday the 22nd Dec to hopefully get some answers about what's going on with him.

Apart from that he's just absolutely gorgeous..........just so happy and totally on the go!!

Rosie - I'm sure I read in the paper about a new Government program offering up to $12K for early intervention for autism disorders. Do you know about this? If not, let me know as I think I'll be able to find the ad in one of the papers I've got here.

Babydesigner - Glad to hear your day is better today. There are plenty of moments where seriously you just have to laugh otherwise you'd go crazy :o

Hope all the sick Mums & Bubbas get well soon :hugs:

yes we got told about that.. but i dont fully understand it.. but were waiting on it.. hopefully seth gets in sometime next year..

hello everyone.. well ruby is well and truly moving on all 4's but most of the time army crawls.

she is very confident on sitting now..

she tries to clap but just holds her hands together.. she loves holding her hands  soo cute.

she loves her brother. and loves bath times.. crawls up to the gate when the water runs.. so does seth.. we dont bath them together all of the time.. it gets too much on seth if we do that.

he is going well.. we know for sure hes teething because so yesterday and today when the teething gel stops working he bites our feet.

Hi all!
Time again for my occasional drop in. Have just been having a quick read back to try and catch up on everyone's stories.

NOAHS MUM Did you get some news? My heart breaks for you having to go through this. I know so many women do and can't begin to imagine how painful it must be. :hugs:

Meggs How are you going. I couldn't find your post but gather from some other ones things have been tough. Hope things are getting better. - Keep scrabbling with me - cause I'm so nice and let you win so often (lol!)

Hails Glad you came to a decison about your job. It really sounded like you were struggling to leave Ryder. Despite all the pressure of full-time mummying I can't imagine how hard those mummies who have to use full-time care find it. I'm such a softie - I'd run back into the centre the minute I heard the tears.

S&Rmum Does Seth have ASD? Hope you are getting all the right help and support you need. There really is a lot available but sometimes you have to make some noise to get the right type. Don't be scared to be a very very squeeky wheel!!

Bugger - wish I could remember more of what been going on. I'd love an update on who is pregnant and what is happening. I just don't get time to get on here very often. (Spend far to much of my spare time playing scrabble on facebook actually!!!)

Anyway we are doing wonderfully. For those of you thinking about it the 3rd baby is a charm. I've heard so many people say how easy the 3rd on is and its pretty much true. Georgie is so relaxed and such a good sleeper. She is sitting well and still doing her funny backward/upsdie down commando crawl. She make me laugh as she get so frustrated not being able to keep up with her big sister! It's a cackle!!

Isn't it weird to think 12 months ago we were all big fat complaining pregnant women!! Time has gone so very fast and I'm so aware that I need to make the most of my kids - because they'll be grown up before I know it.

Better wish everyone a very happy and blessed christmas now - as I double I'll get back on before then. Thanks again Hails for my fb aprilmummy SS pressy. Can't wait to open it!!!! I posted mine the other day! - hope it arrived safe.

VICKI - That sounds truelly terrifying:no: I remember when Ryder was only about 3 weeks old and I couldn't wake him, how absolutley terrified I was, (I told you all that story).
Reading that has really got my heart pumping.

Is there going to be ongoing tests?? What exactly have the doctors said? That is so damn scary. I've taken Ryder's moniter away, maybe I should put it back?

My thoughts are with you:hugs::hugs:I hope you get some answers soon.

BEX - Happy Birthday! happybirthday Hope you had a fantastic day and got very spoilt! Charllette sounds like she's going very well! She'll be keeping you on your toes in no time by the sounds of it - lol!!

SILLYSIDEUP - I'm glad to hear that the 3rd baby is the charm! You must have your hands full so atleast she makes it easy on you - lol!
I'm finding one hard enough

You're right about the pregnant thing. DH keeps reminding me that this time last year I was whingeing about how uncomfortable I was. I was looking at my pregnancy photos yesterday and couldn't believe how big I got!

SETHSANDRUBYSMUM - You're sounding more and more upbeat everytime i hear from you.
Seems like things are going well. Ruby sounds cheeky, Ryder hasn't even tried to clap yet! When you do it to him he just sits there looking puzzled - lol.

I'm glad to hear that Seth is going well.
Ruby and Seth will grow up to be the best of friends by the sounds of it!

MISSUS S - I hope Max recovers soon. It sounds really nasty.

I have my fingers crossed that your appointment next monday goes well and that you get some positive answers.

BABYDESIGNER - How have things been since you last posted? I hope you are getting the outside support that you need as well. I've had days like yours babe, I think we all have. That's why we can all offer the advice you need.

JESS - I hope things are improving with your situation too. Long time no hear. By the sounds of it, little Evie is growing up a bit too fast aswell. It takes your breath away sometimes doesn't it!

As for us, I'm finally on the road to recovery. I had some really sick days last week, I actually had to get Andrew to come home from work because I could barely get off the couch to chase after Ryder. Yesterday was my best day in over a week so fingers crossed I don't go down hill again.

I did end up going to DH's Christmas party on Friday but we only lasted until about 11:00pm. It was an alright night but the food was sh*t as usuall and the entertainment had double booked themselves.

It was the first time DH'S mum babysat Ryder and although he behaved during the night, he was a bit naughty in the morning. He whinges whenever you leave the room. He gets over it quick but Nan doesn't realise that and kept running back to him which he picked up on very quickly.

I think she was happy to hand him back.

Hello Yummy Mummies

Once again I have been MIA. Working in retail at this time of year is insane. My goodness work has been flat out.

Hails - I'm glad you're starting to feel better hun. There seems to be a lot of sickness about at the moment. I hope everyone gets lots better before Xmas.

Tgo - My goodness hun what a scare. That would have been awful . So glad that your little Nate is ok.

Bex - Oh your little Charllette is such a cutey (love the pics on FB).

SSU - Hello...so lovely to hear from you. I love it when MIA mummies pop their heads in to say hello. Miss G sounds like a little angel. Maybe she can give the Charli monster some lessons....Charli seems to be going to "evil" school at the moment .

S&R's mum - Oh Ruby sounds so cute. Charli isnt clapping yet....and if I clap she just grabs my hands and starts sticking them in her mouth

MissusS - How is little Max going now? Poor little man. Its so awful when they are ill. Did you enjoy Enchanted the other night? Its been years since I have been to one.

W&E - Charli gets frustrated about not being able to crawl as well. She gets up on to her knees...does a funny little bobbing thing and then falls out flat. She seems so close but yet so far haha.

Babydesigner - How are you after the other day? I hope things have got a lot better. We all have days where we wonder what is going on. Infact I am having one of those days today. I just dropped the monster off at my Aunties for a couple of hours...I need some time to chill out because Charli has been seriously testing me over the last couple of weeks. :hugs: for you hun.

Jess - How are you going sweetness. I hope things have got better for you. I'm always around if your in need of a chat.

Noah's Mum - How are things going with you? I just wanted to send you a huge :hugs:. And a little ray of :sunshine:.

Sparkley - How are you? How is your little Myles? It sounds like he has been quite ill poor little guy?

QTB - Is it this week that you move into your new house? I hope it all goes well. How very exciting.

Ashlyn - Sounds like you and the twins (and Freya of course) are going really well. So glad to hear. Well done on finding time to pop in...you truely are a super mum

Ang - I hope you had a nice relaxing weekend after your super busy week last week. Also a huge thankyou to Miss Poppy for Charlottes SS pressie. Its placed in a nice special spot under our tree.

Melc - How did you going with Lilys swimming? Charlotte has been going swimming for about 3 months now. She loves it and next year she starts in the intermediate classes...She has learnt so much so I totally think the lessons are worth it.

To anyone I have forgotten :hugs:. I hope we are all getting super excited about Xmas. I am going to spend this afternoon wrapping all the Xmas pressies. Now all we have to do is wait for Santas arrival :xmas:.

Hi All,
Can't believe its only 9 sleeps till Santa comes!!!
We're all well and enjoying Christmas time. The kids are loving turning on the lights and watching the decorations, especially the ones that move and play music.
DH is off work now till the new year, so its strange having him around so much, although he is about as useful as an under water hairdryer, but what can you do. haha.
I think this year we are staying in our own home and just eating, drinking and being merry. Aimee is old enough for us to play board games with now so we will probably eat nibbles and play games all day.

Myles has lost 0.7 kilo in the last week and a half so I guess he is starting to even out now. He is back on the chart now between the 90th and 95th centile, so thats good. he is even feeling lighter and looking not as pudgy.
He's teething like mad at the moment, 3 teeth came up last week and believe me, he let me know about them. He looks so funny now, he has loads of top teeth and only two bottom teeth.

Last week I saw one of our April bubbas WALKING, well cruising (walking while holding onto the furniture) seriously, I couldn't believe it, Myles is not even close to that, he is crawling and thats it, nothing more hahaha, Ah well thats ok, they can all walk and talk by the time they start school so there is no rush.

I am so happy, I cannot believe I have two beautiful children this christmas, I feel so blessed and so lucky. I think I could burst into tears of happiness everyday. I have woken up for the last 3 days with Aimee having crawled into our bed and she is kissing my cheek whispering into my ear 'i love you mummy'. It is the best feeling in the world to wake up to, how lucky am I? Myles is adorable and always smiling up at me, when he is crying or upset if I storke his cheek and sing twinkle twinkle he stops crying and smaile, it makes me feel so loved and I love them so much.

Oh I am getting all emotional and soppy hahahah.

Well I best go, Aimee is hungry and asking for a yoghurt.

If I dont get a chance to write again before Christmas, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to hearing all about it.

Hi all, haven't been able to get online due to not having the internet. I'm also just so exhausted I haven't had the energy to sit at the computer. Been doing heaps like camping & Christmas shopping & wrapping presents. April is still not sleeping through the night :( seems to be getting worse actually BUT she has cut her first tooth so that probably has a bit to do with it. All I want for Christmas is for her to sleep through the night!

Anyways I am looking forward to Christmas which has come so quickly. I have my prezzies for April - fisherprice activity table thing, fisherprice swing, inflatable barrel thing for encouraging crawling, bath toys & some blocks. Have to stop myself from buying anything else as I know she doesn't need any more toys & what I have already bought will be more than enough for her. Her birthday is in April (as you all know) & that will be apon us before we know it & she will be spoiled then. :D

Anyway just wanted to do a quick post. Chat to you all later!

P.S. Does anyone elses bub's HATE shopping??? It's my favourite thing to do & I have come to realise that I just can't do it with April as she hates it!

DH is off work now till the new year, so its strange having him around so much, although he is about as useful as an under water hairdryer, but what can you do.
:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Sorry, just rushing in for a quick squizz while both kids are asleep, but couldn't resist commenting on that. Too funny Cora!!!

LBB, I'm also asking Santa for a baby that sleeps through. I go back to work in just under three weeks and I'm having big panics that a) she doesn't sleep and b) she refuses point blank to take a bottle. :hair:

LilMrsC, I'm always so impressed with your personals. I'm glad your new job seems to be going well.

Hails, are you all better now? I really felt for you last week being sick. Every time I wanted to wish you well I was interrupted though!

OK, sorry for the lack of personals, but I'm in the middle of doing some Xmas pressie cooking. I always cook up some goodies for Will's daycare - nothing like sucking up to the daycare ladies with copious amounts of chocolate!!!

Big mwah to all I've missed.

Noah is soo close to crawling it's not funny he has a little trouble holding his own weight i think LOL! We still only have 2 teeth but my god there are about 10 teeth budging waiting to poke through, we are going away at xmas so i'm guessing we will have alot of sleepless nights, Noah tends to cut teeth when we go on holidays LOL..

 Mammoth post, as promised...

Hails – Good to hear that you are on the mend. We still haven’t fully recovered from our bout and it’s been over 3 weeks. Sick mummys is not good. Great that you managed a night off! Cheeky Ryder knows how to work his Nanna huh?

TGO – OMG, my heart was racing reading your post. Any results yet? You must have freaked. Hope all is ok and thank goodness for your monitor. BTW, your facebook avatar is the cutest!

Melc – Have you started swimming lessons? It’s such fun, although I started Freya much later and I think I’ll start the twins sooner than her. Good to hear that you were able to find such support from the bf section on bub hub and how cool that you were able to support Katkyle too. To me, that’s what bub hub is all about and that’s what us mums should be doing for each other. It renews my faith when there are so many judgemental and competitive mums around too.

CK – Congratulations! Wow, that’s so exciting; I’ll bet you’re really looking forward to it. I look forward to hearing how it all goes. I think it would be a wonderful job and I think that you and your sensibilities will be such an asset to the profession.

KatKyle – so is young Thomas walking now?! It’s amazing how quickly they go from one milestone to another but I’ll bet you’d be happy for him to hold off on the walking for a bit yet. I’m sure crawling is keeping you busy enough!
Bex – Hope you had a fab birthday you old chook ;) Charlette is such a beautiful baby, and I am v.impressed that you got such a great photo of all 3 kids.

SSU – How fantastic that Georgie is such a cruisy baby. I’m sure it helps that you’re so much more experienced now, but what a relief! Astrid gets v.frustrated too with not being able to keep up. I think it probably spurs them on though to get moving. Great to hear from you J

Babydesigner – I have been reading along and want to send big hugs to you; it sounds like you are having a tough time of it atm. You’re in the best place to vent and to lean on some of the kindest and most supportive friends you could hope for.

S&R's mum – Clever Ruby! The twins love us clapping and making them clap, but can’t quite get co-ordinated enough to do it themselves yet. You are sounding really good, as long as there are enough good days to get you through the bad ones, you know it will be ok. What sort of early intervention is available for Seth?

MissusS – I think you are the supermum, working all day and then coming home and still finding the energy for two kids (and DH)! How is mighty Max now? Any better? Your facebook photos are divine, the professional shots are just gorgeous.

W&E – Astrid gets so frustrated at not being able to crawl. Rylan does the commando and goes pretty fast too, but Astrid gets up on all fours and rocks and lunges forward then collapses in a heap and YELLS!

Jess – Sounds like you have a lot going on honey. I hope that you are ok and that you are getting the support you need. Your little Evie just gets cuter and cuter and I love looking at your facebook pics. Big hugs sweetie.

Noah's Mum – Have caught up on your situation now and I’m sorry that I didn’t send you some love at the time, but here’s some now xxxxxx. Hope you are able to enjoy a special Christmas with your boys and start afresh in Jan. :hugs:

Sparkley – Poor little Myles! Sounds like he has been very ill. Is he all recovered now? Aimee sounds so sweet with Myles, you are a lucky mummy.

QTB – How goes the moving? Probably not the best time of year but I’ll bet you’re excited anyway. Harlan is such a little honey, have been admiring him on facebook.

Ang – How cute is Poppy!? I am better at keeping up with facebook thesedays than the bub hub and I always love the Poppy pics. Hope you’ve been able to slow down a bit now.

Freya and I had a fantastic time at the Wiggles concert yesterday. Those guys deserve every cent of their $50million fortune!
She was asking where the show was on at and we’re like,
“Is it where I saw Possum Magic?”
“No, where you saw Hi5”
“Oh, where we saw Justine?”
“No, remember the place where we saw Dora?” DH thinks that she has been to more concerts in her 3 ¾ years than he has in his lifetime!

The twins are sooo close to crawling. Rylan is super fast with the commando crawl and they both get up on all fours and rock. Rylan gets upset and cries when he can’t go anywhere and Astrid just gets the s*&ts!
I got my first Santa photo this year as Freya still has serious santa phobia! Whilst we were at Wiggles, DH took Rylan and Astrid to David Jones and got one done. For some reason I was really shocked at how big they looked. Maybe it was just seeing them dressed up nicely and sitting with santa but, I don’t know, all of a sudden it hit me that they are 8 months and it’s just flown by. It probably helps that my best friend had a much longed for daughter 3 weeks ago and I’ve been looking at her and then looking at the twins and wondering where the time has gone. Probably on hundreds of nappies, and breastfeeds, and hours of broken sleep!
They are still waking once or twice a night to feed but that’s all good. Breastfeeding is still going well but I‘ve had to stop feeding them simultaneously. They fight! They kept grabbing each other’s ears, noses, hands and my boobs! They are also too big to balance on the pillow in the football hold and like to perform acrobatics whilst they feed. They are so lovely togheter though; Rylan likes to rub his head up against people like a cat and he does it to Astrid all the time. He also sucks on her head at every given opportunity which is better than sucking on Coco’s (Freya’s baby born doll) head, because that makes Freya freak out.
Astrid’s hearing tests are showing that she is progressing just as a hearing child should be at this age and the only issue we are having is keeping the damn hearing aids on. It is a constant battle. As you know, everything goes in their little mouths and not only is it not good for the hearing aids (hers are all corroded inside from drool), but they are also a serious choking hazard. It’s too hot now for the little bonnets that kept them on through the cooler weather and she’s got better fine motor skills now so she’s trickier about getting them off too. The audiologist recommended those baby head bands so I bought some today at best and less and ripped the huge flowers off. DH is going to hate them; he loves to tell people who put them on their little girls that he ‘knows a good doctor who can remove that’. I don’t care, anything to keep them on and out of her mouth.

I can guarantee this will be the last post I do before Christmas and probably for a little bit after too! So, Merry Christmas to all you gorgeous Mummies and may you all have a happy and prosperous 2009. Thank you all for your kind words, your shoulders to cry on, your wisdom, your wit and for sharing your stories and your beautiful families with me. xoxoxo

Hi ladies

No personals today (sorry).

I will say though a huge hi to each lovely lady on here:wave:

I am much better, I just have a damn cough left which is driving me nuts but not much I can do about that.

DH goes on holidays after Friday this week. I am eagerly waiting for his time off. Ryder is keeping me so much on my toes with his standing, attempted free standing (letting go of all furniture and just standing up right), him walking from one end of the couch to the other and attempting to go from the couch to the coffee table (resulting in some hiddious bruises to the forhead:o) and his super crawling ( now you see him, now you dont - lol).

He has also been tipping all the toys out of the plastic box, flipping it over, pushing it over to the t.v cabinet and climbing on the box in order to reach higher:( - I don't know if it's calculated but I've caught him doing it 3 times now and he always looks guilty when he's caught. He's going to be a terror!
I really don't know how those with twins do it!

Ryder is going through a stage where he doesn't want to be hugged by Daddy, he only wants mummy, it's making things hard because whenever I leave the room he screams, as soon as you poke your head back in the room he smiles and laughs at you.

It sure does keep life interesting.

We've been saving up hard for a new t.v and DH finally went out and bought a plasma. I don't know if we need one that big but he seems to think we do. It just go delivered so I gotta go.

Chat soon xoxo

Oh dear hails - sounds like you have your hands full. Enjoy your new TV!

S&R - Merry Christmas to you too!

Ashlyn - Merry Christmas to you too and thanks! I was very surprised to get in and can't wait to start, especially in helping new mums breastfeed. Sounds like Astrid is quite cheeky. DS is going to the Wiggles tomorrow, can't wait!

Noah's Mum - thats great about Noah loving preschool. Millie starts at the end of january but I'm already being sooky about it.

LBB - sorry, can't compare - my kids LOVE shopping (take after their mum!) Liam asks to go to the shops daily :o

sparkley - merry christmas to you too.

I'm getting so annoyed at DP. He won't do any housework these days and I'm really struggling. I asked him to help clean the living area yesterday and he just watched Foxtel. Now Liam was up at 2am with the runs so I was up with him for a few hours, he was up again at 6am so I've been looking after him since then (kind of, ABC Kids has helped LOL) and DP has not moved off the bloomin couch. grrrrrr I am so knackered and cranky.

I've hardly brought anything for Moo for Christmas. Just a dress and a soft dolly. Liam still has all his baby toys so I'm just putting in fresh batteries in them and wahoo, new toys. LOL. I kind of feel bad because we could get more but I'm a little sick of so many toys lying around unused.

Right-o, hope you all have a fab day/week/Christmas! :snow:

This is a fond farewell to my best girls. I have been thinking about this alot and how to say goodbye to you so I will just speak from my heart.

I used to say a perky good morning to you every day and a happy good night. Now I am lucky if I see you at all (we just dont seem to be in the same place anymore). We used to go everywhere together and now you always seem to be arriving after me and I miss you altogether. We had some good times - I remember the outfits we shared and how you looked fantastic in them, the highlight really.
You nourished my beautiful girl and did a bang up job too if I might add. Poppy is doing wonderfully.
Bye Bye perky boobies, you will be missed. If at any time in the future you would like to come back for a visit, you will be welcomed with open arms and a spare chest!

Lol - sorry girls, I had to have a eulogy for my boobies. They seem to have died a very sad death now I have stopped BF'ing.

CK - We are getting foxtel disconnected as soon as our contract is up for that reason. DH finds it sooo distracting and I find it a complete waste of money. I cant remember the last time I watched telly either! As my dad keeps reminding me, bub wont remember the first xmas so the content of the presents doesnt really matter. Get loads of pics of her opening her presents (even if they are Liam's recycled ones rewrapped) and she will think it is great when she gets older.

Hails - glad to hear your are feeling better. Isnt it amazing how essential a plasma is to every household. You just HAVE to have one lol. Poppy has been going through the same stage as Ryder for the last week. She is really mobile and crawls after me whingeing now instead of being in the other room. Thankfully she is still ok with DH holding her :) Keep telling yourself it is only a stage. It seems like one stage ends and another takes its place right away hey?

S&R mum - Hi :)

Ashlyn - good work on the mammoth post! Astrid and Rylan sound georgous! You must be so fulfilled with your 3 beautiful kids. Busy too I bet! Good work still bf'ing. I was well and truly ready to give it away at 7.5mths. So was Poppy I think. She didnt want to lay in my arms for a feed anymore. :(

Noah's mum - Noah sounds like he is doing really well. It is good he likes day care. I hope you are doing well too. Lots of luck to you for your appointment in Jan.

W&E - How did all of your cooking go? I would love to do some today but it is going to be 37 degrees here so cooking is the last thing I will be doing thanks lol.

LBB - Sorry from here too - Poppy loves shopping! I would say her restlessness was from teething. Have you tried panadol or nurofen before bed?

I have to scoot girls - Poppy has just woken up and I have washing to hang out and shopping to do (sorry lbb lol) i hope you all have a good day and I will try and get back on later today after my hair cut and colour and monobrow (lol) wax and finish personals.

Hello Ladies,

I have a quick question for you all, if you could post...

How often are your babies waking up during the night, and do you feed them if they do?

My mum has got me paranoid now that I shouldn't be feeding Thomas when he wakes up. He's just started not wanting to be in his own bed at the moment (well when he started teething it started), so most nights we have him in with us, and he still wakes two or three times...

Just wondering if its totally abnormal or not...

Kate - Thomas is not quite walking by himself yet, but it won't be long. He pulls himself up, and walks around the coffee table, and goes between the coffee table and couch - he can almost touch both at the same time... His daddy lets go of his hands all the time to see if he can stand by himself, and sometimes he does...

Well, only three more sleeps ladies!! Can't wait, so excited!!

sparkleymum
22-12-2008, 20:55
Kat, Myles stopped waking for feed around 3.5 months, has slept 7pm till 7am ever since.
At around 3 months I stopped offering milk when he (and Aimee when she was a baby) woke.
This is just my way of doing it, and is not necessarily right or wrong, but I feel at 3 months they were both getting enough milk during the day and didn't need any night feeds to maintain a healthy nutritional balance so when they woke I gave them water. After about 3 nights of water they just stopped waking and started sleeping right through. What I did was I cut back the volume of milk from 200 mls to 160 mls the next night, then 140 mls the next night then 120mls and then water, so I slowely weened them out off the night feed. BUT they were both getting more than enought milk in the day and were really only waking out of habit.

It really depends on how much bubs is drinking in the day. I think most babies start sleeping through at around 3 or 4 months but small babies may still wake for feeding, and there are lots of other factors like some breast fed bubs may still wake cause its hard to monitor how much they drink and sometimes they can snack alot, or poor feeders will still need night feed to make up volume, some babies will wake during growth spurts, or if they haven't taken to solids yet they may need extra bottles and alot also wake out of habit.
So I don't think its 'abnormal'. I think most probably do sleep through by now but its certainly not abnormal not to and I bet there are lots of mummies here who haven't had a full nights sleep yet so your not alone.

If I were you i'd go with what you feel yourself, if you believe he still needs a night feed then do that, as a mum you have a pretty good instinct when it comes to your childs needs, so you will know best. Every baby is different and has different needs, you do what you feel is right for you and your baby.

KatKyle
22-12-2008, 21:50
Thanks Cora, that makes me feel better!! Who knew this mummy thing would be so hard. He is still BF, so I don't know how much he gets, and cos of all the issues with his weight and stuff, i worry, so feed him if he seems like he wants it!!

I'll stop after Christmas... probably.... maybe... I dunno....

22-12-2008, 21:56

Kat, its completely your call, but I am just saying if it were me I would continue feeding him at night because he is little and still trying to get his weight up and he is breast fed and like you say its hard to judge how much he is getting. He also seems to be on the move BIG TIME so is using alot of energy. I would continue feeding, maybe when his weight increases a bit more and you feel confident he is getting all he needs in the day you can wean out the night feed.

Ah your doing a great job. I was seriously pulling my hair out until Myles slept the night, I dont know how you do it but your defo doing whats best for your little man. And who knows, maybe when you start with the bottle or even expressing and feeding it with a bottle you can keep track on the exact amount he is getting and have a better idea of what to do. I do think while he has still some weight to put on you should persevere. Could you express so Dh could do the night feeds over christmas to give you a break?

KATKYLE - Ryder goes through stages where he will wake really early in the night and end up in our bed or other nights he will sleep the whole night through.

I have not fed him through the night since he went into his own cot which was about 9 weeks I think - but that's because he was a good sleeper back then and never woke.

Even when he wakes up through out the night i still refuse to feed him because I don't want him to start expecting it and making it a common occurance (Which Ryder would do).

Each to their own though, not feeding him works for me, whilst feeding bubs works for you, I don't think there is any "right" or "wrong" way. As other girls have said, trust your instincts.

SETHANDRUBYSMUM - Sorry to hear you're having sleep problems again. I really hope it all calms itself back down soon :hugs:

MEGGS - Wishing you a very merry christmas too!! Have a great day babe:xmastree:

Kat - I will add myself to the 'not seelping through' list too. Poppy is a shocker and still wants a night time feed too. Unfortunately she wont settle without it.

Cora - I really like your idea for weaning them off the night time feed. I might give it a go. My sister keeps telling me that my nephew didnt sleep through until he was 18mths old! Bugger that! I am determined that Poppy is going to be a good sleeper (at night) by the time she is one (cough, cough, choke) - yeah we will see lol.

Meggs - Good to hear from you. I try to keep track of you on FB but barely get time to get on the computer anymore! I am glad to hear things are going well for you and beautiful Emmy.

I was just looking back at preggy pics of me and oh boy do I miss being pregnant! I am sooo clucky now! We have been unofficially trying but I think we will have to start really trying early next year. How exciting!
My Brother is arriving from Mt Isa tonight to spend xmas with us. My mum and step dad arrived yesterday too. It is going to be nice to have all of my family together for xmas day. I am really looking forward to it.

A big merry christmas to you all. I dont think I will get back on before the new year but will look forward to hearing what Santa left for you all then!

KK, hugs to you! Mills doesn't sleep through either  I actually get DP to try and settle her first now and it seems to help - but she still wakes sometimes screaming for a feed. Breastmilk digests much faster than formula - but if you want to try and stop the night feed, you could try and offer water in a bottle (which is super if bub actually takes a bottle ). My GP rolls his eyes when he asks if she still wakes and if I feed her - but I'm not into screaming babies at 2am waking cranky toddlers. Millie is still only about 6 1/2 kg so I fear if I don't feed her, she will wither away.

Millie starts kindy in a month so I am trying to get her on a bottle, but she's being pretty stubborn about it. I think if I'm not there and she's hungry she will be better about it.

Ang, merry christmas :snow:

I would like to jion this club. Charllette wakes anywhere from 2 to about 10 times. I try to settle her without feeding her but she gets histerical. Shes always been a snacker and She is lucky to have a cracker and a small dinner in a day. Sometimes when I try and give her solids she goes of like I am trying to pioson her.

DS1 was waking once a night till 11 months. He had started having 3 meal a day instead of 2. (maybe a month or two before) So I started to give him water when hes woke. Hes my little routine lover so It was more a case of breaky routine than hunger.

DS2 Slept through on his own at about 4/5 months.

I can't not feed charllette cause she get histerical. I can't give her water cause she refuses to take a bottle so. I to am sleep deprived with no sign of relief.

You know, I just plod along, and do the best I can, but as soon as someone questions what I'm doing, or says oh, they should be doing xxxxxxx, then I start to go, oh, really? And question everything.

Guess I'll just keep going for now, I really don't mind it, and I know everyone says, oh, you don't want him in your bed, he'll never leave. Still haven't heard of a 15 year old sleeping in his parents bed...

Well, if I don't get on tomorrow, Hope everyone has a fantastically superfragilisticexpealidocious Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to say KatKyle I might be a bit late but I want to join the not sleeping through bandwagon! April has become terrible especially now she can stand up in her cot. She's tired & her eyes are shut but it's as if instictively she knows she can stand up so she rolls over when she's almost asleep, sits up, then stands at the railing of her cot speaking or crying too me! It happens 3-4 times a night. It must have something to do with teething because I just don't understand why she would do that when she is clearly very tired & almost asleep.

Today I am getting my ex to bring out my queen size bed so we can share a bed again (me & April not me & him ) & maybe that might help!?!? Will also look into some pain relief to see if that might help too. I need all the help I can get!

I also feed April when she wakes up sometimes even though I know she doesn't need it (she's 10.5kgs) but I sometimes hope it will put her in a sleep induced coma like it used to when she was younger but that trick just doesn't work anymore.

Anyway better get going.

Have a great New Years!!!!

OMG Max has turned into Jaws  He now loves to bite our shoulders if we're holding him

I think it is a teething thing as his top 2 are coming through now. Gemma never got any teeth until after 12 months so we never had this problem. It's just been the last couple days but OMG hope he learns to stop soon :o

We had a fab Christmas..............have only stopped today after 5 days of constant parties & BBQ's. Both kids have been really good for us.

We had the gastroenterologist appointment last Monday. For $315 for a 30 minute consult I don't think he told me anything I didn't already know  He just thinks its multiple food allergies and suggested we now see a dietician who we've got on Jan 10th who will help me with food trial & error. He is organising for Max to have a fructose and sucrose breath test on 2 different days where I have to fast him.............looking forward to that, not :( This is just to test for an additional problem of malabsorptions here but we can't do them till mid February. He said Max could also be a coeliac but its too early to tell at this stage. But at least its nothing too sinister and hopefully he'll grow out of these problems by age 1 or 2 :fingerscrossed:

Hi ladies

I hope you all had a fantastic chrissy:noel:

We had a busy one. Lunch at mum inlaws and dinner at My mums, home at 11:00pm.
Ryder was spoilt rotten. Thankfully DH and I only bought him 2 prezzies because his Nana's, aunts and uncles went all out!

DH and I can't believe that another year has passed by so fast!

I also have some news to share

I am officially off the pill and we are TTC!!!:smiliedance:

We had a huge discussion about it on boxing day and as Ryder is coming up to 9 months old we just feel that the age gap is perfect to start trying for another one.
I am so excited about adding another baby to the family!! Ever since we decided to start trying it has just felt so right.

Due to problems I have always suffered with (pcos, A F problems) we are unsure as to how easy it will be to conceive. It may take 4 weeks, it may take 4 years, we're just going to see how it goes.

Start sending your baby dust this way!!:babydust2:

First things first

CONGRATULATIONS JESS AND MATT ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT!!!!!:yelclap:

Wishing you the best for your future together.

Our New Years Eve was a quiet affair. My brother came over and we had a BBQ and then spent most of the night playing Buzz whilst drinking frozen cocktails (yum!).

Nice, quiet but full of great company.

I am so excited about TTC, I want to be pregnant NOW! (which for a long time I never thought I would want to be again). We aren't hoping for any particular sex and don't even think we will find out the sex this time round, although that is going to make it more difficult with choosing a name as we will have to agree on two names instead of just one.

I have been having some symptoms lately, really, really sensitive nipples (sory if it's tmi) and extrememly sore breasts, cravings for savoury things (normally i'm a sweets kinda girl), bad headaches (which I got during the first trimester with Ryder) and severe leg cramps (which I only got during Ryder's pregnancy). I'm not going to do a test yet though, just wait to see if it's all in my mind or may actually be true.

I hope you all had a great New Years Eve no matter what you did.

Love ya xoxox

Wow...............Congrats Matt & Jess :valentine:

Hails - TTC is so exciting.........hope it happens soon for you :babydust2:

meggs - Why did FB make you unhappy? Was it taking up too much of your time?

Question..........Have most of you guys turned bubs car seat around yet? I haven't and Max is 9.4kg's now. I know it's safer having it rearward facing which is why I'm wondering if most people have done it yet? Think I'll do it this weekend.

I'm still just on the Mini Pill since stopping BF'ing a few months ago and it sooooo doesn't agree with me. It's made my skin yuk and my hormones are all over the shop. Think I may get one of those Mirena IUD's put in soon..............hope they work OK

Wow - so quiet in here these days.

Meggs - I'm really going to miss our fb games. I can appreciate you wanting to get rid of the things that make you unhappy in your life (life is to short for that) but I'll miss the regular contact with you. Everyone knows I'm hopeless at keeping up with Bub Hub!! Enjoy the extra time it gives you. FB scrabble is my biggest time waster (after the kids!).

MissusS yep I've turned Georgie around! She is happily facing fowards and loving being able to see everything!

Jess - Wahoo - once again congratulations!!!!

Hails - I though maybe you were already!! Fingers crossed. Can't wait to hear some news.

Hi all hope you had a great New Years!

hailsntwang - TTC sounds so exciting I can't wait til I'm in a position to be able to do that but it won't be for a long long time now. Hope to hear some good news soon ;)

(Sorry) I am a bit unsure as to who Matt & Jess are ATM but "congratulations on your engagement!!!"

meggs - I am also a bit curious as to how FB could make you feel bad? I am a bit addicted at the moment but basically I only use it to "stalk" my friends particularly the ones that have recently had bubs. I love looking a baby pictures!!!

Missus S - I turned April's seat around ages ago but I wasn't aware that it was less safe at the time (silly me) I was just thinking she would like it better that she can see me & everything out the window.

April & I are going good. Still living at my dads but can't wait to get my own place. There is so much here April can get into cause my 2 brothers live here too. April loves to get into the computers & playstations & cords & all of their stuff. I have to keep an eye on her 24/7 or she is ejecting discs from the ps3. When I have my own place it will be completely baby friendly then maybe, just maybe she will be more interested in her own toys????

Anyway catch up with you all again soon!

I haven't turned Millie's seat yet but she is not even 7kg yet. I don't think I'm turning her around till at least 12 months anyway. Luckily Liam plays with her so she doesn't protest too much being backwards.

Millie starts daycare on Monday :crying: Am feeling v. emotional about it. I have a few weeks with Mondays and Tuesdays being childfree before uni starts - no idea what I will do with myself! I think I'm going to do a big clear out of the house whilst I have no little hands helping - and have a few nanna naps too

We turned Ryder's car seat around Months ago. I can't remember how old he was exactly but I think it was around 5 months old (sounds bad of us but he needed it done), ever since we did it he's been a lot more settled on car rides, plus I like being able to see what he is up to.

LADYBUGBLUE - Jess is MAJEEVICH (I hope I spelt it correctly). You will know her when she comes on next;)
It sounds like April has you on your toes permanately!

Fingers crossed you find your own place soon!

CHEEZLEKAT - Hun I hope it all goes well with Millie's first day at daycare. It's a big step to take so take your time.
It's ok to feel emotionally and ok to cry if you want to:)

SILLYSIDEUP - Nope I'm not yet but hoping it happens soon. Hope all is good down your neck of the woods

MEGGS - Looking forward to hopefully catching up. I'm a shy person at first so if we sit their in silence please know it's not an ackward silence, it's just me!!! I don't mean anything by it.
I have your mobile number in my phone, I sent you a message on facebook with mine but will send you a message anyway so you have it.

Ryder has been really sooky today. I think he has another tooth coming through - poor fella!
Hopefully it cuts through soon.

MissusS - I turned emmy at 6mths she never liked being rear facing and is much happier now she can see everything and we can play games hehe....

Hails - it was so funny that I had jsut put ur number in my phone when you texted me hehe... I cant wait to meet up!!! dont worry we will have plenty to chat about and i can see your beautiful wedding pics in the flesh!!!!

Sillysideup - Maybe Ill sneak back on just to play scrabble with you hehe.... We can still chat on msn too....

LadyBugBlue - emmy gets into everything else but her toys too...she is clever enough to find the hidden phone cord under the mat...and everything else she shouldnt have!!

After spending about a week crawling properly we have decided its a tad boring and so trying to stand to walk now....where did my non-moving baby go!!!!!

Re the fb thing - a couple of mums up here became nasty spreading lies and breaking up friendships and it was upsetting me to be the target and seeing on mutual friends walls things from them and meet ups im not invited too and just basically all the **** that kept upsetting me so rather than deleting lots of people i decided to leave....after some time passes and wounds have healed i might go back on...

Hey Meggs that sounds understandable. I got quite cut one day when I noticed one friend asked another of my friends for pic's from her birthday celebrations & I was like "What The???" I wasn't even invited!!! I left a confrontational msg on her page. Turns out it was a misunderstanding & I wouldn't have wanted to go anyway as it started at 11pm in the Valley, but things can get a bit skewed when you rely on info from FB. Also sometimes your on there & your tired & crabby & you say things you normally wouldn't say 'cause you wouldn't normally be speaking to your friend at 11.30pm on a Monday night when you should be in bed!

Meggs, oh chicken, I am so sorry for what happened on FB. People can be so nasty but you have to remember, not everyone is as honest as you and this is the internet and although we chat to each other the really sad thing is not everyone is as they appear. I know that sounds really sinical (sp) but I only count my friends as being people I meet up with, hang around with, that kind of thing. I dont have anyone from BH on my facebook, only the 4 girls or so that are now my friends in 'real life'. Thats to protect myself from this kind of thing but also cause I put pictures of my children up and I only want people I know having access to that. The internet can be a real cruel place and is the number one place for bullying. It sounds like you have become the victim of internet bullying. I know it really hurts but why dont you delete the nasty people off your facebook and keep using FB as a way for communicating with your real friends and people who care about you.
I hope it gets better now and whoever is being so cruel takes a look at themselves and thinks 'is this what I want my bubs to grow up to be?'.

I am totally exhausted, there has been so many work parties from DH and we have been to people houses for BBQ'a and had a new years party in our house, up last night for my birthday and now I am shattered. I am so happy there is nothing planned for the next week I dont think my body could take it (and my liver certainly couldn't hahaha).

Myles is going well, lots of teeth, lots of crawling and LOTS of mischief. I cannot take my eyes off him cause he is into everything he shouldn't be.
Aimee had a great christmas and LOVES Santa hahahaha.
I had a great Christmas, I have made lots of lovely friends recently and am starting to feel really settled here. I think friends really make things easier when your far from family and home.

Hope you all have a great new year. I am sure I'll post again nearer the first birthday when we're all getting excited about our bubbies turning 1. (I can't believe how close that actually is)

Hi Girls - Happy New Year!!

Firstly - A Huge Congratulations to Jess and Mardi. What an awesome christmas present!! And about time too lol. Details Girls????

Hails - :babydust2: for you. We are also trying here for real too. I got a lovely visit from Aunty Flo on xmas day for the first time since before TTC the first time so all systems are a go. How exciting huh?

Cora - Happy Birthday for yesterday! It sounds like you have had a super busy holiday season. Yay for Myles getting around now. I bet there will be no stopping him now. I cant wait to catch up again soon.

LBB - I feel your pain again on an unsettled bub at night. Poppy is def teething and has a lovely red bum to show for it the poor chook. She is having really acidic poos. I guess four teeth at once will do it though. April sounds like she didnt need a visit from santa, playing with everything but her toys!

Meggs - :hugs: People can be big arses! I dont have friends on fb that I see on a regular basis apart from the mummies that I meet up with. As much as I like it for networking etc I can see how it can go pear shaped pretty quick. I'm not really on it enough though. Our April group is pretty safe and we love you here Meggs! I look forward to seeing more posts from you.

Missus S - Poppy has been forward facing for about a month now ever since she hit 8kg. She helps me drive by making car noises. Very helpful . I have tilted the seat back just a little bit so it is still comfortable for her to sleep if she wants to.
Isn't it always the way with specialist appointments. I hope little Max gets sorted with his allergies soon. I also hope he doesn't have coeliac disease. Good luck with the appointment on the 10th.

CK - :hugs: Daycare is a necessary evil I reckon! It is soooo hard leaving them - more so for us then them I think. Millie will be fine :)

Well, chrissie in the 'I' household went really well. Poppy was spoiled rotten and has a whole new toybox full of toys that sit idly by while she plays with the remote control.... The poor chook is teething like mad at the moment. She has finally cut one of her top teeth and has 3 more coming through. I dont know what it is at the moment but every time I look at Poppy I think how lucky I am to have her. She is just such a joy and so happy all the time. I find it hard to believe she is mine :goodvibes: Must be the clucky hormones.

We were very naughty yesterday (thank you Mr Rudd) and went out and brought a new i Mac with a 20 inch screen. OMG it is sooooo much better than a PC! No pop ups, no lagging no problems! Woot lol. Can you tell I love it???

I am calling my old bosses on Monday to see if they will have me back hehehe. TBH I cant really be bothered looking for a new job when I know that it wont really compare to my old one. Depending on how many days are available at the day care centre I may go back full time. We will have to see. I am actually looking forward to going back now. I really dont think I was ready when I went back earlier. Hopefully they will have me back. It will just mean working in the city again which I am in two minds about. I have found a good local child care center for Poppy so hopefully it all falls into place.

Well, I better get off the computer and spend some time with my husband lol.

Have a good weekend girls

Ang and Poppy Mwah xx

MissesS, I can't remember when I put Myles forward facing cause it was a while ago, but I think it was either 5 or 6 months. He was to long and his feet were up against the back seat so I had to turn him. He has been way more comfortable and alot happier now. He loves watching everyone in the car.

QTB, I am sorry about your pregnancy, it must have be hard even though you knew somethign wasn't right.
WOH your going back to work, thats great. Are you putting your kidlets into day care or have you got someone to look after them at home?

Aimee didn't start crawling till about 10 months and walking (on her own without holding on) till around 15 or 16 months. Anyway as Myles started crawling at 5 months, alot earlier than Aims, I thought everything would be happening earlier, but he's been crawling all over the place now for almost 5 months and hasn't tried standing or anything, is that wierd??? I think its wierd cause when i lift him he always tries to stand on the floor and can hold his weight well and steps in walking motion, but still no effort to do it himself. Mind you I am not worried or upset about it, he is so much trouble just crawling, i think life would be 100 times harder if he was walking. He is in the freezer, every drawer, likes chewing wires and plugs. My hands are really full with him right now, if he was walking and standing, nothing would be safe hahahahaha.

I took down the christmas decorations yesterday so mylo can now crawl all over the house again and not confined to the playpen. before I could only let him out if I was free to keep my eye on him.

I bought my last 4 tins of milk the other week. Only 2 more months and I am done with formula and bottles forever, can't wait. He's been drinking out of a sippy cup now since around 5 months or so but I still give his milk in a baby bottle, probably in the mext month or so I will start giving the milk in a sippy cup and at 12 months I will probably stop bottles altogether and it will be cows milk in a sippy cup. Can't wait. I hate doing all the scoops and stuff, I am so lazy hahahahahaha.
Gosh I was just thinking as I wrote that, I should have dropped the day time bottle by now shouldn't I? He's almost 10 months and still has 3 bottles, thats terrible isn't it, I just got stuck in the routine and forgot to move it on..if you know what I mean. I am going to have to work out now how to drop that daytime bottle.

Now that I have created more work for myself I better go.

QTB :hugs: ...... glad to hear the move went well. To think you spent Chrissy about 100kms away from my place!! hope you all had a ball. How's the new place. Looks so nice in the photos. Enjoying the pool??

ANGROC - Yay for work. Sounds like you've been doing some serious planning. Hope things all work out. Poppy sounds like such a dream bubby. I love hearing mums talking about their babies with that gushy all adoring tone. I think that's the way all mummies should be.

MEGGS - I feel a little sad when I see you've dissappeared of FB. Your comments are still on my page but you just come up and annoymous. Still - I really hope it's working better for you and I support you 100% in your 'do what makes you happy approach to life'. Hope Ems is doing well.

SM- Hi there. Hope things are doing well at ur place. Myles sounds like such a grown up bubba now. Yay for getting rid of bottles - I fully understand - I'm already counting down.

LBB - Hi there. Sorry to sound rude but did you have another user name in the past. I can't remember who you are!! :o

Well, here's me back on BH again. Must be getting back into the swing of it. Georgie is wonderful. She is my commando crawling bub. Gets all over the house and has lost all her baby chubbs due to the excercise.

I've just realised I simple adore babies in bonds suits. (taken me 3 to work it out). I love the look of them in those stripey cute little bonds numbers. So innocent and adorable. I've just bough Georgie one of those funny ones with the bum flap in a size 0. She looks good enough to eat.

Life here is doing well. Busy busy with 3 kids - but wouldn't change a thing.

CONGRATULATIONS MARDI ON YOUR LONG OVERDUE ENGAGEMENT

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy for you and Jess. Being engaged was great, being married (is really no different but it's also great cause I hated my old signiture, my new one is so much better:laughing:).

QTB - It's so good to hear from you. I hope the move went well and that it's a new positive beginning. I'm wishing you all the best for this year and with everything you set out to do.

ANGROC - Perhaps we will be due in the same month again?? Good luck for your :bfp:.

SILLYSIDEUP - I'm happy to hear that life is going so well. 2 older kids and a cammando crawling bubs must be keeping you on your toes!! lol.

SPARKLYMUM - I know how you feel. I'm just counting down the days until I can give Ryder milk straight out of the fridge.

He is still having up to 4 - 5 bottles a day. He's still not liking his finger food yet but once our highchair arrives it will be easier for us to feed him. (at the moment we're doing it on our laps - not working so well).

LBB - See ya on Facebook!!!

Dh took us for a surprise trip to Bright yesterday. It was beautiful weather. we walked up and down the little shopping district eating icecream, it was a really enjoyable day. He's not often spontanious so it was pleasantly different.
