View Full Version : June 08 Mums Chat #3
Hi, I'm back. Had a nice lunch... will be re-imbursed for it too which made it even yummier! ;)
sk6, sorry I can't help much with your DDs friend question. I would be curious what others have to suggest though as I would be thinking the same things as you really.
On one hand you can't really tell your DD who to be friends with but I wouldn't let my daughter or son sleep over anywhere that I am not comfortable with. For now I suppose you can continue to say she's too young for sleep overs and hope something happens - maybe this kid might move away or they might stop being friends or something... then problem solved.
Another idea could be to get her involved with other kids yourself. I think you mentioned scouts or cubs or something a while back. Would this not encourage her to mix with other kids? Being a little girl, if she becomes really good friends with a different girl, then she might not want to hang out with this one so much anymore.
I'm sorry I don't have many more ideas. I hope you figure something out other than moving interstate!

Thanks Dramaqueen :ecomcity::p
SK6 - People can be a bit rude, can't they? I was getting Panadol for DD the other day too, and she said once she gets to 12kg you'll have to swap to the next panadol... although she looks a fair way away from that. I just said, yep okay, then she asked how old she was, I said 5months and she immediately said 'ohhhh, so how premmie was she?' Now she was 3 weeks early, but I don't consider that premmie. Was a bit of an assumption on her part. Like C Khirra has a little double chin and knee rolls! lol
ETA - not sure about your problem with DD.... Mum was suss on one of my sisters Dad - gave her a creepy feeling, and she just told Jayne she would prefer if her mate would stay with us... she was happy with that I think, just for the sleepovers sake. It was that, or nothing.
K8y - Could well be the beginnings of a tooth! That's how's Kizza's started out on Sunday, now we have 3 white dots - looks like 3 corners of the teeth - not sure if it's actually broken the gum yet, or if they're sitting riiiiiight at the top of it.
Have added lots of you lovely ladies on to Facebook! :yelclap: Will have a look through when I get a chance!
Have to go find a pair of togs to wear to Khirra's swimming lessons tomorrow :crying: I'm so not ready for bearing any of this body
anyone know where I can find a good reliable chart on introducing baby solids?
I wanna print out a copy and stick it on the fridge
also, with those charts, if it says introduce something at like 9 months, based on a standard introduction at 6 months, if I started solids at 4 months, does this bring the 9 month food introductions earlier?
stg I think those recommendations are based n the maturity of the average digestive system at so many months... IYKWIM?
The cousin's not good. He can't move anything and is relying on a machine to breathe for him...
Oh and my Dr gave me a printout re solids. I've just Googled and found it on the internet. If you Google "Sanitarium Infant Nutrition 4" and it's the first one that comes up, that's what I was given. He's only a GP but sees so many babies as he's really good with them so... up to you whether it's good for you or not...
sk6 - not sure about your DD friend, I guess getting involved in something else like MOS siad would be good, it is a hard one...if I remember I'll ask my mum what she said!!!
I can't believe we need another thread already :ecomcity::ecomcity:
well DH has gone back to work, back friday night :( my SIL is coming up tomorrow afternoon and spending thursday with us...not sure what we will be doing, never really spent time alone with her before....also want to keep my routine of at least walking if I don't get to the gym so hopefully she is keen for that.
hmm...better finished getting ready for football..chat tonight or tomorrow

ems when it started was the area inflamed or look irritated? Summer's gum's just look normal, not irritated at all or red, just that white spot. She is very drooling and when I offer my knuckle she bites hard on it, almost like she's angry!
Good luck with togs. I bought a tankini when I was pregnant which I wear now as I never got to wear it when pg anyway as my bikini fit fine, but now my boobs don't fit so lucky I got that tankini. From Sunburn at DFO for $20. Then I just paired that with a pair of DP's boardshorts and hey presto, swimwear outfit LOL

Thanks MOS, I've bookmarked that page for myself too.
How are you feeling today?
Had lunch with the ex. We had a bit to catch up on but also felt a little bit awkward at the same time. He's not into holding babies though. Not been around them much so bit nervous, though he's great with little kids. So I asked him to hold Summer while I ducked to the loo and said, are you alright with holding her, and he said yeah it's fine. He was trying to hold her but looked awkward lol. I said don't you run away with her! and he looked at me desperately and said make sure YOU come back! LOL when I got back she was whinging loudly, it was so funny  He bought me lunch though, it was lovely to catch up. We were together for 7 years or so, so I know all his family/friends well.
Summer so whingy today. Am trying to get her to sleep but she won't have a bar of it  We've been in and out of the car all day and she's been grabbing catnaps here and there so think shes a bit p!ssed off and overtired and perhaps teething.
oh meant to say will add you to the list stg.
Is there anyone else for the brissy list? Will give it a couple more days, then we can work out a day/time/place :smiliedance:

No, her gums just looked normal. They looked like they were a bit swollen yesterday, but that looks like it's gone down today as well. I think she only got the blood because that's how I teethed - apparently the first tooth that came through Mum woke up to find me with blood caked all around my mouth - freaked her out until she found the problem! Some bubs teeth relatively easily without too much fuss. Khirra's drool definately went up a notch about 2 weeks ago though. She is honestly like a tap, and just ends up drenched...along with whoever's holding her.
Did Charli's gums get red or anything Stg?
ETA - Happy birthday Kotakai!
happybirthdaykotakai!!!!
sk6 id go with your gut, dont let her go just keep with the she is too little for sleepovers. maybe keep suggesting oh lets invite another girl over to play? maybe u could ask the school to put the two in diff classes next yr? i found my dd is always best frineds with who ever is in her class lol

Oh my goodness.I can't believe we are up to the second thread already .. it is only the 11th! Although I must admit that when I log on and the last post is still mine, I feel a little disappointed that I don't have anyone's stories to read!
sk6 - My sister has a kind of similar problem with her 8 year old.. he likes going over to his friend's house but doesn't like staying the night. He told my Mum (his Nan) that he was crying over there one night and wanted to come home, and his friend's Mum just told him to go back to bed. My sister was really upset about it because she always says "if he wants to come home, just call and we will get him!" The same Mum keeps bugging my sister to let him go and stay at their house again, but she just says that she wants them to spend more time together as a family and that maybe he can come over another night. It is such a hard situation, but I would trust your instincts on this one.
Speaking from a different point of view, I was extreeemely shy when I was a kid. I didn't have many friends and if I did and they were nasty (like it sounds like your daughter's friend is), I didn't want to spend time with them anyway.. I just didn't want to say so in case they got angry with me. Does that make sense? Maybe your DD is intuitive enough to pick up on that as well. She may be looking for an excuse to get out of that friendship, but just doesn't know how to deal with it. Have you spoken to her about it? I second what MOS said about maybe getting her involved in scouts or cubs or something? Maybe something with kids that don't go to her school, so the dynamic is different and she can start with a blank slate. I would have loved to do that when I was her age. I hated the kids I went to Primary school with - they were all nasty snobs! Just something that might help boost her self esteem a bit, and help her to develop confidence. Also, don't feel like you can't talk to her teacher about it. Chances are, the teacher puts them together a lot for group work etc. because she thinks they are good friends (especially if your daughter is quiet and shy).. but maybe if she was in a different reading group or something like that, she might be able to make some new friends without the other one hanging around?
I hope that makes sense. Best of luck to you!!
Not sure now who was asking about the dress colour, but I think I'm just going to go with ivory. :) If we ever renew our vows I will do the blue
Bit of a bad day today. My nephew (the one I mentioned) has been admitted to hospital :( He has an infected abscess on one of his teeth, and his immune system isn't coping well with it at all so he's also developed tonsilitis and his groin is all swollen etc. Poor little guy. They are putting him under a general anaesthetic to remove the tooth, and have him on a drip for antibiotics and stuff. Hopefully they will let him come home tomorrow! He has been sick for a few days and was on antibiotics at home, but wasn't getting any better so my sis took him to Westmead Children's Hospital. Mum and I went up to visit today, and I tell you what, I have never clutched Elliot so tightly to my heart as I did when we left that place! I am so blessed to have a happy, healthy son, I tell you what! How scary.
Meanwhile we are looking after my sister's other kids tonight and they are just so funny. Somehow we got onto the topic of genitals... My 4 year old nephew got hit in the 'plums' by his 5 year old sister and was very annoyed. "My poor plums!" My niece says "At least they're not hairy like daddy's!" hehe
Love kids

That would really upset me if I knew Nick was somewhere and didn't want to be there anymore and the mother just told him to go back to bed!!! :( Poor kid.
Your poor nephew...how old is he? I hope he gets better soon, poor guy. And kids do say the darndest things!!!
I just created a group on facebook for June 2008 Mums and sent you all invites! I don't really use my 'groups' thing too much, but thought I'd create one since there's so many of us on there. See how it goes?
Off to watch TV with DH.
and happybirthday kotakai. I know everyone is just figuring out where your name came from, but I've only just figured out its kotakai and not kokatai. I looked at your kids names and thought "Its close, but not quite from their names" and then realised I was saying it wrong in my head all these times! :raspberry:
Thank you everyone!!!!!!!!
I can't believe we need a new thread already! I wonder is that some sort of record?

I hope your nephew is feeling better tomorrow. I know exactly what you mean about the hospital. That's where Dakotah had her chemo, so we were there quite a bit & I used to always think, yeah it sucks she has cancer, but we're so lucky compared to a lot of other kids there. It really puts things in perspective.

 Isn't it funny that however you 'say' someones name in your head the first time, that's how you always say it!
sk6 -I was going to suggest the same thing about the classes. Does your school have more than 1 class per year? Maybe go & speak to the school & ask if they can be separated next year. But I say, def go with your insticts! If you don't feel comfortable sending her there, then I wouldn't.
Lambkin, your poor nephew. Let us know how he goes. :hugs:
Can't chat as everyone just got back from the hospy. I think they're switching the machine off tomorrow. I'm doing a short 4 hr stint at work instead from midday in an empty office.

Yay! I've sent out invites to more June bubhubbers on facebook too.
lambkin that is so funny about the hairy plums :D
I would be horrified if my daughter cried to come home and they didn't ring me and just told her to go to bed. I was a real sooky when I was young and sometimes there were late night calls to my mum as I was crying and wanted to go home  so I know how it feels :o

Hey, Well thought I'd post a proper one now. DH just made a comment today that Sam doesn't have that orangy tinge to his hair anymore. I think it's gone! Yay! :smiliedance: Nothing wrong with red heads but I'm not and neither is DH so it was a little strange... He's got lots of short little hairs growing and his head feels kind of spikey - it's very cute! And DH got his head shaved this week so they're looking very similar.
He's also really started picking things up and looking at them closely this week. He kind of uses his fingers and feels things a lot. It's great to watch. I love how he's so much more interactive these days. He smiles in response to soooo many things. Remember when we used to say we couldn't wait for them to just smile? Now I can make him smile whenever I want... Aaaahhhh... :D
Shereejoy, glad to see you're back (on Facebook anyway). If you're reading this, jump on and let us know how your trip went. You don't need to catch up on our :ecomcity:. Just fill us in on your stuff first!
I answered a post on another part of BH as someone was new to the area and wanted company walking around the local park with her 5 week old baby. So we're meeting next Thurs. That should be good. A little scary but she seems nice enough. And I do need some more things to do that don't make me want to spend money!
I had something funny to post before. DH said something and I thought I'd have to share it with you guys. But I've been sitting here staring at the screen and it's not coming to me. So good night. You may hear from me again!

hard to say she never let me see. she stuck her tongue in way all the time or licked me lol but drooling was... collosal
Thank you everyone!!!!!!!!
I can't believe we need a new thread already! I wonder is that some sort of record?
remember the last thread was made a week approx before nov started
She woke up with conjunctivitis real bad again thismorning.
This is the third day..
I have these drops for them, the pharmisist said if there isnt improvement or if it isnt pretty much gone in 3 days, take her to the doctor.
Thing is, her eyes are better than they were, but still a long way off...
but the drops are about a month out of date as I got them for a previous infection.
Should buy fresh drops (dont want to spend money unneccesarily) or should I take her to the doc...?
stg - if you go to the doc, they normally bulk bill for babies (well my doc does) and the drops they prescribe you usually clear it up in a day or two...
well i have been so busy the last few days, our drains kept blocking up so we called a plumber in and now they have to rip up half the driveway and front yard to replace all the old pipes, so they will be here for the next two days doing that, so i have to get out of the house and go visit a friend as we wont have water on.
i am so glad we don't have to pay for it, the plumber said it's going to cost a small fortune!
i am going to get some professional photos done of the kids tomorrow, it will be there first lot done together, and it makes for a nice xmas present for the family.
i am also going to buy a wii tomorrow :smiliedance: i have finally convinced DH to get me one, he is even going to buy a chip to put in it too and i will get a wii fit in a few weeks time.
how has everyone been?
Kobi was so clever the other day he rolled from his back to his belly and then back again, i think he shocked himself a bit, he got a bit upset but i was standing there clapping my hands cheering (being a bit too over excited) anyone else get really excited and act like an idiot when their bub do things for the first time? or is it just me?
well better go get ready before the plumbers arrive.

Casey's hair looks auburn/ginger...DH & I don't have red here, know one in DH's family does we are thinking its a throw back from my dads dad who I never meet.... One of my Boyfriends from years ago was a real red head he was a horrible person...so I think that has put me off the colour...but I dont think Casey will be that red as its only a tinge....now it has grown on me & its a gorgeous colour  maybe its because Sam & Casey have fare skin aswell.

Casey woke @ 1.30am last night  I could hear this noise it was his arms hitting the side of the cot,I went out to him & he was wide awake:rolleyes:
but I wrapped him again put his music on & he went back to sleep till 6.30  when down @ 8.30pm,DS1 woke at 6.30 came upstairs & said BIG sleep mummy...awwww cute
He is using the toliets lots more for no1's & 2's :yelclap:
I tested my luck yest thought I'd try no nappies all day,put him in the carseat & said tell mummy if you need to go etc,he then said mummy i need the the toliet.................you guessed to late!
wet car seat...argh well least he told me so hes getting there.
Hes off to nanas today:D so I have a few jobs to do....
Have a great day
She woke up with conjunctivitis real bad again thismorning.
Should buy fresh drops (dont want to spend money unneccesarily) or should I take her to the doc...?
I reckon go see Dr. Anti-biotics tend to clear that kind of thing up much quicker than the eye drops.
If you look at some of the vids on our FB pages I'd say we're all the same. We all have that crazy, posessed high pitched voice of excitement... And the baby just stares at you like he knows you're not all there!
Another bad night's sleep again. Sam slept until 3am and then in with me. When he wakes at that time he's so hysterical I don't want him waking up the whole house I do what I can to stop the screaming. This morning he's woken up with dried snot all around his nose. Should I make a Dr's appointment??? Think since it's just a cold or something I might look a little neurotic. He's had it a week now but he's breathing much better this morning....
Well the house is empty. DH is at work but the IL's are at the hospy. They're turning the breathing machine off at 10am this morning to see if he breathes alone or not. If he does breathe, that's all he can do. Very sad...
Told my boss on the phone last night that I ignored the other girl's note about the phone calls and he said he knows and he just told her I was doing something else. I don't think he fully understands me when I tell him I'm not doing ANY phone calls. I HATE THEM. It's her full time job. None can be so important that I have to do any. They don't have to be done on a certain day but she just hates doing them too so she leaves them for me. When I only do 2 days a fortnight, NO THANK YOU! And I don't even WANT to be working but he begs... so me-thinks I have the upper hand! ;) Will discuss it again today I hope...
I'm taking Sam in again today and will do midday to around 4pm unless Sam gets painful earlier.
Well best be off to start getting ready. I hope I can time his nap to start as I get to the office... :fingerscrossed:
anyone else get really excited and act like an idiot when their bub do things for the first time? or is it just me?
Oh yeah, I do haha

One of my Boyfriends from years ago was a real red head he was a horrible person...so I think that has put me off the colour...but I dont think Casey will be that red as its only a tinge....now it has grown on me & its a gorgeous colour  maybe its because Sam & Casey have fare skin aswell.
Yeah charli is snow white skin. I have naturally blonde hair. Charli has out of the ordinary hair colour (usually our babies in the family are snow white hair or like me when I was young, so fine that I had none til I was 3!) she has a light brown but it has the red tinge in it. Its like a strawberry burgendy.. the type chicks pay money to get out of a bottle :cloud9:
and happybirthday kotakai. I know everyone is just figuring out where your name came from, but I've only just figured out its kotakai and not kokatai. I looked at your kids names and thought "Its close, but not quite from their names" and then realised I was saying it wrong in my head all these times! :raspberry:
OK, Im not getting it either, so what am I missing, lol.
Thanks for all the help re DD1, I think I will ask the teacher if they can be split up next year. I think scouts would be good for her, will have to chase that up.

Happy Birthday Kotakai. Sorry I'm late. Did you get up to anything exciting?
I was meant to have a g/f over today but she has now cancelled. Shame I had bought some lovely raspberry/chocolate cupcakes for us to have. Kirilly got a smack last night because she pulled them off the kitchen bench to eat them. Poor thing now I feel bad because my g/f didn't even turn up.
Oh well just sitting here eating them with my cup of tea.
Fluffball (Hurricanes and butterflies)- welcome back hun. We missed you.
Lambkin - the dress is lovely. There is a picture of matt rogers (rugby league player) in this weeks ok magazine. His fiance chloe maxwell wore an emerald green alex perry dress. She looked fantastic. I had to look a few times because intially I though she must have changed into it but nope she said green is her fav colour!
MOS - hope there is good news for the relative. Maybe we should try somewhere else next week instead of Burkenhead Point.
Well I'm off to finish orgnaising Michael's christening invitations and our trip to Coolum.
Kirilly'sMum, you should meet up with stg and sk6 while you're on the Sunshine coast! :D
Birkenhead is still fine with me but does everyone know there's not much there at the moment? There's a lot of construction there so many shops are closed and there's only 2 places to get a coffee - the coffee shop down the bottom of the ramp bit and Michel's inside near Coles. I don't mind flopping boobie out in public if needed so don't stress about parent's rooms. On the other hand, if there are any other suggestions I'm cool with that as I'll travel anywhere. Not sure about the others.
And sk6, kotakai's combined her two older kids' names: Makkai and Dakota.
OK, Im not getting it either, so what am I missing, lol.
kotakai is made up from kota-Dakotah & kai-Makkai. I'm not very imaginative! It's their nicknames.
 thanks MOS, I must've posted at the same time.
What about maybe Carlingford or somewhere like that? That's sort of in the middle for everyone, isn't it? Not sure what's there though.

Im thick as a peg, lol!
We call DD1 Spudley, maybe I should change my username...

Im up for a meet, happy to travel!

Carlingford's good for me... as is everywhere! They've just had their facilities all done up recently. All new parents rooms.
I'm feeding. Got 15 mins to finish, dress the boy, finish getting myself ready and out the door.. hhmmmm... YEAH RIGHT! :D
Have a good day all. :hugs:
PS have we decided what day we're meeting? Didn't write it down and unless it is, I'm lost!

Hi super chatterboxes!
MOS, so sad about your relie...:fingerscrossed:he breathes and improves...but the odds don't sound good.
I must confess I've been saying Kotakai....as CA -toke- ie...so didnt get it either...:p
Stg ..go to the Dr it's gone on long enough, you don't wana stuff round with eyes.
MOS as he seems to be geeting better, unless his sputum sudenly turns green or yellow..or he gets worse..ie starts getting temps etc. I'd not go to the Dr. Most viruses lat 5-10days. As for his brething the other night. Its normal for babies to have irregular breathing, and more abdominally based. Time to worry if the amount of effort to breath is obvious..ie sucking in under the ribs..or of the rib cage as they breath..or making grunting noises. And /or they are going blue (thats pretty obvious) or looking pale and exhausted.Or obviously if they stop for longer then 20secs.
Went to Playgroup with my Mothers Group yesterday... their babys worry me. None of them are rolling ..or even looking like it yet. *(they are all within a day or so of each other ...and all full term excpet the twins who are fogiven as they are 6 weeks behind) And most barely lift their heads. They just lay there on their blankets staring at the roof....while Gabe motors off the blanket, spews on the carpet, grabs and stuffs every toy in site into his gob and then rolls onto his back an sucks his toes... All the mums gasp and remark how advanced he is...but going on what everyone on here's babys are doing I'd say he's in the middle of average. hmmm
Anyhow...can hear hes awake from his 20 minute nap (nothing changed there).. Need to go to loo before he starts to cry..
Off to get needles this arvo:(
Two quick things...
I remember talk about trays for freezing bub's food, and went to get some ice trays today. But ended up finding a set of 3 bambino trays (with covers) for $10 at The General Trader.
I almost don't want to say anything about this, for fear I'll jinx it ever happening again, but Nicklas slept from 7:15 until 3:15 last night! His feeding schedule got off a bit yesterday, so I gave him some pureed veggies at 5:30, followed by both boobs, then we bathed him at 6:30, and at 7:15 I gave him the boob again but he fell asleep after less than 5 minutes. Put him in his cot, and next thing I know its 3:15!! Fed him he was asleep by 3:45 and then he woke up at 5:40.
Needless to say, I'm going to try and do everything tonight exactly the same as last night!! :)

I've only caught up on the last few pages on this new thread, since we were kicked out of the old one AGAIN.
I am at the start of this 3 day toilet training program. Yes i know everyones thinking impossible right... well I have taken nappys away as of this morning and my big girl has been telling me all morning before she needs to pee and has made it to the toilet almost everytime and just before her nap did a poo too. I am so proud.
Kyles i guess well just wait for MBQ to confirm a date and place. I'll send her a message through facebook incase she misses this post. Next week is good, any day bar Mondays are fine for me. Yeah through Bacchus Marsh and along Ballan Rd, you'll hit wyndhamvale.
Hope those who are teething are feeling ok, teeth are horrible things. Lara's teeth dont seem to have even started moving yet.
MOS hope the family member breathes on his own and recovers. That is just an awful story. I feel so sad for his family.
Lamkin i'm glad you've found a dress, you will look fantastic.
 fluffball.
Well i should get going have to do what i can while Chaise is asleep as this program means that i need to be by her side all the time for the next 3 days. This morning we played with lego, drew, painted, played with playdough, read some books, watched 2 movies. And alot of running back and forth to the toilet. Oh and trying on ALL of her new knickers, too cute. So it'll be a fun few days.

c38 Summer rolled a couple of times, but it seems she's given up as every time I lay her down, she keeps trying to sit up and gets halfway. She's going to have some hot little abs lol. I guess I still need to give her more tummy time, I can be a bit slack. Usually she sits up most of the time now as she hates laying down unless I'm in her face playing with her  I hope she's at least average for her age, I feel a bit guilty about the lack of tummy time I give her :o
Babywez thats awesome. If you try again and it works, it might become routine
I had a bit of paper just before in one hand and a piece of licorice in the other. I went to open the cupboard and put the bit of paper in the bin, but I ended up putting the bit of paper in my mouth and my licorice in the bin :o

Hey everyone:wave: we have been away down the coast for a few days. It was so nice and relaxing Q loved being outside and seeing as we don't have a backyard she was so intrigued by all the trees. We were in Aireys Inlet on the great ocean road for anyone who hasn't heard of it went to visit the light house and down to the beach. We are lucky because its my cousins holiday house(who lives overseas now) and she lets us go there whenever we can summer there is going to be great!
Anyway so much :ecomcity::ecomcity: going on so i'll just go from here but C&L's mummy i will be happy to drive to your place, i am easy on days too anyday except wednesdays really. Ok Q has just woken up, it is so hot here today i miss winter
Hi all!
A couple of days away from the Hub, and we've hit the 500 thread count again! Im very impressed!:ecomcity:
OK, Ive had a quick read of all the goss. Not really any time for personals, as I have Liam next to me playing with his gym-thing, but it looks like hes nearly over it....
Have just come back from Mothers Group. We all just went to the park and lay down on blankets and chatted for a couple of hours. Liam slept through the whole thing - and so he should, we've had a couple of rotten nights with him, which Im putting down to the warmer weather. Am like a zombie today, and havent felt like this since the very early days.:fingerscrossed: he acclimatises soon.
Also, the thing I was wondering about has happened. For the last 2 nights when Liam has woken up and Ive gone to get him, Ive found him rolled over onto his tummy in the cot:eek: All his wrap was all tangled around his legs, and hed wriggled out of his blanket. Am so worried that he will strangle on his wrap. So ladies, do I try him in the sleeping bag thats size 6-18 months? Do I leave him unwrapped totally (thus freeing his feet to play with as opposed to going to sleep) and still undoing all his blankets etc. Would love to know, for peace of mind.

OK all gotta dash. Make the most of this hot weather and hang yet another load of washing out:rolleyes: Hopefully will have an early and peaceful night tonight as well! Take care all:flowerz:

Well done on the toilet training, it can be so hard.
Kyles the sleeping bag is all that is needed apart from their clothes. No wraps or blankets required. Just make sure it's a good fit so that bubs can't wriggle down in it or anything.
Good luck! I am still trying to teach Summer how to sleep without being wrapped as being wrapped is her cue that its sleep time
c&lsmummy we knew what you meant

How did the needles go C38?
The cousin is breathing on his own and has twitched a foot and moved an arm a little but his blood pressure had been rising so... who knows...
I can't believe those babies aren't moving or anything. Do you think that maybe we're all similar in how we do things so have maybe helped our bubbas a little and encouraged them because of what we've been reading about each other on here? How else would the BH babes be more advanced than the others? We have friends who have a 10 mth old baby and she only just started doing some of the things that Sam's doing now. But they don't encurage their baby much. I tend to put Sam down for tummy time and play time on the floor when I read about it on here so maybe we are all helping each other by reminding us to do certain things...
I almost don't want to say anything about this, for fear I'll jinx it ever happening again, but Nicklas slept from 7:15 until 3:15 last night! How cute about trying on all the knickers. What a wonderful bonding experience though. She must feel so proud of herself. Well done! A few accidents are bound to happen long the way but she seems to be doing exceptionally well.
I had a bit of paper just before in one hand and a piece of licorice in the other. I went to open the cupboard and put the bit of paper in the bin, but I ended up putting the bit of paper in my mouth and my licorice in the bin :o
You made me laugh k8y - I've done some similar things in my time.... even before I fell PG! I remember once I was scrubbing the grout in the shower with an old toothbrush and gumption... and I suddenly forgot what I was doing for a split second... but long enough to put the toothbrush in my mouth and start brushing! Heheheheh... I made the mistake of telling a friend and she STILL reminds me of it!
Also, the thing I was wondering about has happened. For the last 2 nights when Liam has woken up and Ive gone to get him, Ive found him rolled over onto his tummy in the cot:eek: All his wrap was all tangled around his legs, and hed wriggled out of his blanket. Kyles, I'd try the sleeping bag. Are you worried it's too big or something? Otherwise, is he perhaps getting out of his wrap as it's not long or big enough? Maybe try wrapping him in a sheet so it goes around him twice and there's no chance of him pulling a houdini?
I went to work today with Sam and he was amazing once again. He grizzled a little but never for more than a few mins. I worked with him on my lap a little but still managed 2 hands free to type. I got lots done... plus the boss' wife was in the office so she was able to see I don't bludge and am able to keep working even if Sam's with me. It worked out well.
I have been given a form to fill out too. It has questions like "Do you want more money?" and "What tasks do you think you're good at?" and "What tasks do you enjoy the most?". They said it's mainly for the other girl but I'm really happy because it means I get to put down what I am thinking in writing. I am going to point out that I don't particularly WANT to work but don't mind doing the odd day here and there to help out. I'm going to suggest they not rely on me as we're planning an OS trip and hopefully another baby next year. They've been pestering me to come back full time so that should stop that... but I'll offer to help train a new person for them so help out but I also won't do phone calls as it's not worth the headache for a few hours' work! Yay!
And oh yeah..... I suppose we shouldn't joke anymore about being kicked off the threads...:p

BB - Congrats on Jake's toilet training - sounds like he's doing really well! :yelclap:
MOS - I'm not sure about taking Sam to the Dr... DD hasn't had a cold yet (touch wood), but I guess there's not a lot they can do if it's just a cold... although there's a lot to be said for peace of mind .
Kirilly's Mum - Yum. You've given me a sweet craving now
Babywez - good work with the sleep! Hope it happens again for you!
C&LMum- Yay for Chaise's toilet training efforts :yelclap:
k8Y - bugger about the licorice
MyBabyQ - The coast sound lurverly - I'd love a few day a away
Kyles - not sure about the wrapping thing, sorry hun :( I don't wrap DD, but she doesn't seem to toss and turn too much during the night... does work her way up to the top of the cot at times though, which isn't great.
We have friends who have a 10 mth old baby and she only just started doing some of the things that Sam's doing now.
Yeah, same here. Charlotte is more advanced than a friends 9 month old.
Im not feeling well.. fluey mastitis not well.
I either am getting the flu.. achy and funny in the head, or its mastitis.
But my boobs arent sore.. all I can think of though is my right nipple has really been hurting the last day or two when she feeds from it.. kinda lik it did in the early days when the nipples were getting used to being "working boobs" not just "show boobs"
But would mastitis cause nipple pain and tenderness.. I havent noticed inflamation on the breast

Evening ladies,
Had a busy-ish day today. Took Khirra to her first swimming lesson - was great, she loved it :D Took some piccies, so will post them, if I can get our computer hooked up to the internet here... have been using Mum's laptop since I've gotten home.
Her tooth has pushed through some more, poor little thing. How long to they take to get through??? I noticed the first bit on Sunday, and the whole length of it still hasn't made it up though the gum - just one half..like it's working up on a slight angle
One of my friends came over to meet DD, which was lovely. She's trying for a bub at the moment, and just had a MC, but is in good spirits still. She's 34, so she was sort of glad in a way that they 'checked her plumbing' so to speak afterwards and now knows everything is as it's meant to be. And she fell after just 2months of trying, so that's encouraging. And very exciting - she'll be such a wonderful mum :yelclap:
Anyway, DP is at squash tonight, so it's a quiet one... might get to bed early and make the most of sleep before Kizza wakes with her teeth

Kyles- Thursday sounds great to me. I also suggest a gro-bag but it depends on how big Liam is. They have a size chart on the packet, we just bought a summer one in 0-6 months because even tho Q is a little long for it she is 1.5 kilos to light for the bigger one and it would probably slip over her head at least thats what i imagine. Anyway i am pretty sure its min 8.1 kg for the 6-18 months and 70cm.
:hugs: stg. I hope for your sake it's not mastitis. I hope you get better soon...
And ems, let us now how long it takes for that tooth to come through. I'm interested... but then I'd expect they'd all be different.
In reference to the sleeping bags. I've got 2 for Summer, both made by mamas & papas, but same thing as grobags. For 0-6 months, but I find her elbows can slip inside, hence her arms, so I'm hesitant to use one on her yet until she gets a bit bigger.
stg hope it's not mastitis. Maybe ring the ABA for advice?
MOS it is a bit lovely that all the babies on here are average or above I'd say just from pictures and things people post. K8Y..Summer is fine..she can roll both ways even.. Gabe doesn't do back to front, like Summer he can go days without rolling... But he can do it. There are at least three babies in the group (not including the twins that were prem) that when put on their tummys can barely lift their heads. And they dont grab objects as yet. They do put their fists in mouth.laugh and smile... but thats about all Ive seen.
Was kind of flattering today when I went to get his needles. One of the MumsGroup was there too. She went in before me. Then when I went in the Dr remarked...are you sure he's ony 4mths....look how he's reaching for things with both hands...look at how well hes swallowing..look at how he's turning that toy around and swapping it from hand to hand...hes like a six moth old...you're in for a ride with this one. That friend of your's baby is nowhere near him. (A bit unethical I know but I do know the Dr and the nurse ).
Anyhow made me feel good, but scared:laughing:. And he's not doing as much as a lot of the bubs on here...
He was fine with the needles..cried for a second ..but stopped as soon as I picked him up. I gave him some Panodol this evening as one leg is obviously a bit red and swollen (and I was hoping for an early settle as well.....but it made no diff...still fought until 915)
Had to laugh to myself at k8Y posting that you're trying to teach Summer to sleep unwrapped as wrapping is her signal.... Im still trying to teach Gabe to sleep LOL Hes NOT advanced in that domain...:laughing:
STG could be mastitis..hope not for you
Kyles I agree with the others try the sleeping bag. I wasgong to try Gabe in one, but I only have teh winer weight ones... Some of them (well I know my Grobag one does) have an extra button in the arm hole..that keeps it tighter around their arms if they are a bit smal, so they cant slip into them.
C&Ls mummy... well done with toilet training day1
um was going to say something to BB but forget, and your posts not on the end,,,,hmm ah well:wave::wave:BB..LOL

Hi all!
Good news about my nephew. He has been sent home tonight from the hospital so that is great. He had TEN TEETH removed, the poor little bugger. He had all his remaining baby teeth, his wisdom teeth, and the ones causing the abscess. Crazy.
Had a busy busy day today with my sister's kids here. It was hot so we were playing in the paddling pool, but Elliot doesn't like it so much. Too cold for him, methinks! Then I accidentally sprayed him with the hose and ohmygosh how he hoooowled! I'm a bad mummy. ;)
I had planned not to tell anyone about ordering my dress after the bad reactions I got when I mentioned dress shopping, but I have to send off a whole bunch of measurements and I don't want to risk stuffing them up by trying to do them myself. SO I told my sister (and DP obviously as it is his money as well). Hopefully she will do the measurements tomorrow and we can get the ball rolling. There's like.. 16 measurements! Bizaaarre.
Am having a friend 'round for coffee in the morning. I haven't seen her for maybe 3 years, so it could be either really good, or really awkward. Fingers crossed for the former.
Hope you and all your gorgeous babes are doing well xxx
love, us
can't remember much and didn't multi post duh!
MOS- good to see you that shereejoy is at least of FB Shereejoy- let us know how you are!!
MOS good news about your relative,it is still awful though.
c&Lmummy - well done with starting the toilet training sounds like a great way to do it.
k8y and mos- love your forgetfulness stories...ugh gumption in the mouth.
c38- interesting about the other bubs??? one of my mum's friends was looking after a 5month old who had never been on the floor lying down...poor thing didn't know how to talk to the parents.
stg hope it is not mastitis
ems84 glad the swimming went well.
I can't remember what else is going on sorry!!
for the sydney meet- wasn't it on thursday so kirrily's mum could come...I am not fussed where as long it is not down south, but I don't think anyone lives down that way anyway, just that I will be travelling down that morning.
well I have a question for , or anyone else just to confirm it is 150ml/kg/day for FF bubs....I ask as Pip has typically been offered 200ml 5 times a day which includes one dream feed, though the last 2 nights she hasn't had the dream feed ( 1st night cause it was quite late for the 4th feed so didn't want to feed her so soon) and she still slept through and last night to test it a bit, i was expecting her to wake around 3ish but it didn't happen. so she is around 7-7.5kg which means that if I only give her 4 feeds I don't think it is enough, but she doesn't seem to worried about it...should I up the 4 feeds I give her or just leave it???
she doesn't take all of the bottle all the time???
anyway we are good here, my sil is staying hence the late posting, it is all good.
c38 thats good to know about the grobags with buttonholes in the arms for the smaller bubs. I will go check it out. I guess forking out the few extra dollars for the grobags rather then mamas and papas would have been worth it  Now the ones I have are wasted as they're not fully winter ones, but not ones for summer weather either grrrrr.....
Thats great that Gabe is so advanced. Summer has been holding objects for a while now but she's only been reaching for them for 2-3 weeks (I think). Sometimes when she reaches to grab a toy to put in her mouth she doesn't quite get it and thinks she's putting it in her mouth but all she gets is fist - so cute!
Gabriel must be really alert - doesn't want to miss anything by sleeping  poor mummy though

great news about the nephew and OMG 16 measurements seems so many, but probably makes sense.
Hope your meet up goes wellI have caught up with so many friends since I have had Pip that I never thought i'd see again and it all went smoothly, mind you we all had the one thing in common again now...bubs, where before it was like school or uni!!
I dont think he's super advanced... I think the Dr was being kind. As I say, he doenst do a lot that some of the others on here are doing.. But YES he is very alert..which I think is exactly teh problem with sleep. He doesnt wind down very eaisly. For example..if you cover his pram with a bunny rug to down stimulation, he becomes more alert..and lays there looking at the pattern on it...or stares at the sunlight coming through the stitching in the pram hood (well I think that's what he's looking at). He doesnt seem to be able to fall asleep without physical contact....
Ahhh well ..he wont be little forever.
It is hard though. My mum cant settle him of an evening. She tried a few times. So it means I'm reluctant to do anything...including my work dinner and a Crouded House Concert (Ive SO loved them for years) But I know I wouldnt have fun worrying that he was home screaming, and that um would be all stressed. But there will be a Christmas dinner next year...and I can buy the Crowded House CD for less then half the price of the concert.:D
Okonky: yes its a 150ml/kg;day for formula fed..though it goes down to 120ml/kg/day at 6mths ...so if shes happy and growing I wouldnt be too stressed. Maybe offer 220 each feed if shes only having 4
well I have a question for , or anyone else just to confirm it is 150ml/kg/day for FF bubs....
Chais only has 4 bottles most days of 200ml each. (well it's actually 180ml, but when you mix the formula it goes up to about 200ml)
I do sometimes try & get that 5th bottle in, but it doesn't happen very often.
He has them at roughly 6am, 10am, 2pm & 6pm. He has a jar of food after the 10am & 6pm ones & very occasionally a little bit in the middle of the day.
He's not quite 7kgs yet, but doesn't wake up hungry & is putting weight on, so I guess it's OK.

 what a night.................. poor casey he is either teething or coming down with something,we put him to bed as his usual time but I could hear him squirming & moaning so I said to DH maybe he has wind? or a sore tummy? so I picked him up & it took a few mins but he managed to burp,so I put him back down but he was still making that same sound(he had been a little off yest I think) so I gave him some Gripe water....well my fault I gave it too him lying down(slowly into the side of his mouth)but then it must have went down the wrong way as he then starting to vomit........out of his nose :crying:everywhere,of course only milk....poor thing.
He was pale & shaking a bit,so I checked his temp 38.3... I gave some panadol which he does not like at all:rolleyes: he had 2 bottles over night, not the full amounts but as he throw up he was hungry again,he is not himself this morning, has rosy cheeks & his gums are swollen so Im thinking its teething as he has no rash as yet which usually comes with a virus...I hope he cuts the tooth soon,DS1 was a bad teether.
Argh well this is prob just one of the many nights to come.
I just get so worried about them when they have temps etc......

The CHN told me its 120mls per kg of body weight for FF babies up to 6months,as she worked casey's out,as they get older it becomes less.
C38 knows aswell.
Good morning ladies!
In the mornings when I wake up, Sam's already awake and lying next to me. So I put the computer on the other side of him and I reach over him to hit page down as I read. That way I get to give him his morning kisses and cuddles. This morning though, whenever my hand wasn't on the mousepad, his was! It was so cute. He kept on putting his hand on it and moving it around like I do! So cute!
Lambkin, funny about the hose! Not a bad mummy at all. :p
I am still getting these stomach cramps but not as many. The first morning I got heaps starting at 3am going for hours really strong but yesterday and today it's only a few, not so bad from around 7am until around 9am (at least I hope it stops around now like yesterday!)... Not sure what's going on. It is definitely in the same dept as my uterus...
Sam just won't leave his feet alone. His fav thing at the moment is lying on his back with his feet in the air playing with them. I helped one to near his mouth this morning and he opened his mouth then I let it go and he jumped then tried to get it back for ages! So it won't be much longer before he starts sucking on his feet - how gorgeous!
When Sam has a BM bottle, he takes 175mls... so BM is different eh?
Sorry about your bad night BB... sounds like a bit of a saga. Hope it doesn't happen every night for you.
Sam sucks his thumb now... OFTEN.
Well he's starting to yell out to me now.... in addition to putting his spew catcher hand towel over his face! I pull it off, he puts it back on, I pull it off, he puts it back on. Man he's going to be a painful child!
And about the meet, did we say afternoon so you can make it for sure oconky? I have a BAD memory!
c38 i dont think dylan is advanced, he is very alert and still not into sleeping either like gabe but he is slowly getting a little better.
he can roll both ways but hardly ever does, he mostly gets around on his back by pushing with his feet gets all around the lounge room like that. and he holds toys reaches for them, is just starting to pass from hand to hand a bit and just starting to grab for his feet but he is one of the oldest bubs in our group more than 6 weeks older than gabriel and he was just under 3 weeks early so not considered premmy. i think he is prob right on averageish. he has no clue about sitting yet lol. i think he mostly working on his social skills, he is a very socialbaby i see him spot an old lady now at the shops and start trying to get her attention his arms and legs start flapping he starts squealing and babbling and laughing and blowing rasberries showing off as much as possible till they notice him and start fussing over him then he is all smiles and laughter. cheeky little thing:rolleyes:
mos dylan sucks his thumb a lot too its cute but im trying to encourage the dummy instead. he sucks his wrist a lot too not sure what thats about and he chews his blankets? teeth are sooo diff for each bubs my dd wehardly noticed when she got one but ds arghh:hair: it would be weeks even months of total misery every time

Morning,
Chaise stayed dry the whole night! Came in this morning and went straight to the potty for a wee. No accidents so far today. Oh please let it work, i want her out of nappies.
We had a reasonably good night Lara only woke once, but Chaise was up at 6.30.
Mybabyq, i'm jealous i need a holiday. We were thinking with this money we will get for the kids in december going on a holiday before uni starts next year.
Thursdays good, i'll pm you my address, what time? I'm easy so whatever times are easiest for you guys to travel with bubs.
well ive officially started weaning my boy, or rather he has officailly started letting me. and after only 3 diff formulas and 4 diff bottles:rolleyes: so he likes the heinz nurture and the mam bottles with a squashed wedge shaped teat. he haaaates those tomee tipee ones that apparently EVERY other baby in nsw likes:rolleyes:
so he has 1 bottle the last 2 days, ill prob up it to 2 bottles tomorrow. he still has 7 feeds a day cause he thinks he still newborn, plus solids no wonder he is pushing 8kgs!!! im hoping he drops a feed or 2 going onto formula like the feeds in the middle of the night would be great.
wow chaise is doing such a great job!!:yelclap: clever girl

Thats great, i'm wondering if i should put Lara on formula maybe that would solve some of our sleeping and settling problems. She feeds heaps too, 3 hourly during the day and now twice overnight. So probably 6 or 7 feeds.
I am so proud of Chaise she is doing fantastic.

Aww Elliot does the same thing with the computer! He taps the keys and gets so excited. Just like Mummy! haha So cute.
And he is pulling his bib over his face aaall the time now as well. Maybe they are playing peek-a-boo? ;)
It's very cute but can get a little messy.

Eliot still feeds every 3 hours, 24/7. I think the reason he eats so much at night is that he's so distracted when I try and feed him during the day that he never really gets a full feed.
Just waiting around now for my friend to arrive. Nervous as we've known each other since we were babies but I haven't been in contact with her since her 21st - over 3 years ago!! I feel like I am going on a date or something! My hair is a mess and I have a pimple and I probably smell like spew, but oh well.. hehehe
Elliot has gone to sleep so I can't even use him to distract her if I am boring!!
I've been meaning to send a cloth nappy out for a swap all week but we have been so busy I haven't done it yet! I feel so slack. Hopefulyl I will get to the post office this arvo. I asked DP to go for me on Tuesday and yesterday after work, but he got there just as they were closing both days. Bugger.
Has everyone started their Christmas shopping?? I think I'm going to do photos for some people. Do you guys think that would make a nice pressie? If someone gave you a nice, enlarged photo of your bubs in a frame? I want to do it for my sister's, but don't want them to think I am just being stingy!!
Morning everyone!
Thanks for your feedback re: the sleeping bags. I think the time has come to try Liam out in his. Having said that, I wrapped him and put him in the cot as usual last night, and not a peep out of him until 6am this morning! Which was just as well because I was exhausted and in bed by 9.30 myself! (Can you tell Im someone who LOVES their sleep) I think the settled night may have had something to do with the big feed of farex before bed.
The cousin is breathing on his own and has twitched a foot and moved an arm a little but his blood pressure had been rising so... who knows...

MOS, this sounds encouraging.:fingerscrossed:its a goos sign for your cousin.
[quote=ems84;3243883]Her tooth has pushed through some more, poor little thing. How long to they take to get through??? I noticed the first bit on Sunday, and the whole length of it still hasn't made it up though the gum - just one half..like it's working up on a slight angle
:hugs:to Khirra and the teeth. How did she go last night? I too would be interested to know how long it takes for a tooth to fully come through.
He was fine with the needles..cried for a second ..but stopped as soon as I picked him up.
Well done to Gabe with the needles! Such a brave boy!
Hi all!
Good news about my nephew. He has been sent home tonight from the hospital so that is great. He had TEN TEETH removed, the poor little bugger.
Thats great news about your nephew! Good luck with the measurments for your gown (a snooty sales woman was horrified when I called my wedding gown a "dress" - I learned my lesson quick smart!)
BB - heaps of :hugs:for Casey with his teeth.

While I'm in photobucket, here's a photo of my tattoo. It's on the side of my stomach. I was going to somehow add Chais's name, but I'm glad I didn't cause now I'll need to add the baby too. I'm thinking I'll get something similar with their two names on the other side.

I used to always give my family photos as presents & they loved it. They have no wall space anymore though, so I now make a DVD with the photos from the year on it & one of those photo books (like the one big w sometimes has on special for $10) That way they can still look at the photos. I think they'll love photos, especially as it's his first christmas.
kotakai, what's POAS???
And I love your tatt. I have a tiny blue and purple butterfly on my ummm... how do you explain it? Just on the top corner where your bikini line comes to a point? Well - there!

Not stingy at all. I love pics. It's especially nice if you put them in a nice frame as it's something they weill keep forever. I've given so many pics in frames to my IL's that I can't do anymore as I don't want to out-number the other grand children on the walls and it's stating to look like he's a favourite... but only because I'ven been giving them to them so not their fault!
I've got a few things for Sam for Chrissy and my nephew. I've got to suss out one of the niece's Pandora bracelets then I'll get her a charm... but that's s far as I've gotten with it.
I just had a wax. It turns out many more family members go to the same lady and they all think the SIL is annoying. One even commented that they feel sorry for me living so close and living with the IL's, etc! Will have to be careful what I say to her me thinks! ;)
My legs are allsticky. I hate that. I paid $25 and got 1/2 legs, bikini and underarm done but it means I have to come home and shower otherwise my undies stick, etc. Can't complain, she's very cheap...
id love to get a pic of my neices or nephews for xmas! def sounds great

Casey has let out a few high pitched screams today sounded like he was in pain  gum @ the bottom feels swollen to one side.
I am going to get a tattoo done:thumbsup:I figure if I can have 2 c-sections(which hurt like hell) then I can get a tattoo :laughing:It will be Jacob & Casey's names joined together in a circle :D If I have another child....hmmm not sure maybe put them in the middle

MOS POAS means pee on a stick ie. do a preg test! I was thinking the same thing!:D And LOL at the fact that your family members go to the same waxing lady - the world really is a small place isnt it:yes:
Kotakai I havent heard of a woombie, but Chais looks so comfy in it! I'll have to look into them
Well, its really hot and windy here today. Liam cannot settle in cot at all, DH has taken him for a walk to see if he will rock to sleep. I need to do a million things while they are out, but somehow I wound up back here;) Really must get motivated. Enjoy your Thursday ladies:flowerz:
Maybe I just might POAS then! Am off to Woolies a little later to get some more veggies for DH's lunches. Not sure if I should cook for the whole family tonight as it's family dinner night but they're all at the hospy all day again. Might not even come home... so don't know what to do.
Just spoke to my mum and the reason she wanted to bring my brother to visit was to get him away from there when she has him one weekend as he just sits on the computer the whole time, etc. So no spies in our midst!
I have a long list of things to do today and am slowly plowing through them. I've been on the website for the T Way fine I got and I actually saw the pics they took of my car. It's definitely me! But the road is not red and there's just a pic in the middle of the road which I am STILL not familiar with. I don't even know what it's supposed to be... They are lenient if you can prove a 10year+clean driving record. Doesn't include P plates so I think I fall just under at about 9 and a half years... Might call the RTA later and ask just in case I get lucky. Will try writing the letter anyway - can't hurt.
BB your tat idea sounds nice. I want to get an "S" somewhere, maybe the top of my foot or something. Not sure yet. I just like little small ones in places that can be hidden if I change my mind about it. I've had my butterfly for about 6 years now and I still love it so I think I'm safe!
Gotta go get washing in... and feed grumble bum first as he's getting antsy!

[quote=Kyles72;3243201]Hi all!
Kyles - my DD has been in her 6-18mth grobag since she was 4mths, as she was kicking off her sheet and blanket and I always found her cold in the morning. I got the 1 tog one and she loves it - I dress her according to the weather, and if its over 25degrees I don't put her in it.

Oh my gosh, I have a cranky, cranky little girl today. Not herself at all. I'm hoping it's just the teeth, and she's not coming down with something. DP has her at the moment, and I'm making myself sit on this computer and zip my lips, but he complained today that 'nothing he does is right' - apparently I make suggestions too much when he's putting her to sleep... or by telling him that rubbing his stubble against her face is probably going to hurt her. So I'm shutting up and he can deal with the cranky baby by himself. I tell you what, I love that man to death, by I'll be glad when he goes back to work  He gets so restless and grumpy when he has nothing to do.
Ohh, POAS MOS...hehehe, I'm a little bit excited for you! They do sounds like weird cramps though... might just be things kicking back into gear down there, if you're not UTD?
Love the tattoo Kotakai. I have a fairy on my tailbone that's sprinkling 'fairydust' so I'm going to get the kids names sprinkling down with the dust... if that makes sense...
BB - Hope Casey feels better.... I know what you mean about wishing for sleep
Kyles - good sleeping effort by Liam!! What I wouldn't give
C&L'sMummy - well done Chaise :yelclap: That's such a great effort - she must be so proud of herself!
Lambkin - I was going to do the photo idea for Chrissy too ;) Or maybe get one of those digital photoframes for the grandparents.
Supermum - you poor thing with the bottle efforts. His Dad must be proud he's such a boobs man though, :p
Oh my gosh, Khirra is SCREAMING. It annoys the bejeebies out of me that he lets her get to this stage. And doesn't even sooth her with his voice.... Ugh, I think I'm going to go in.

Okonky - DD has 250ml 4 times a day.
Aah thanks C38 - I was wondering about the milk when they get older. I went to a talk on solids yesterday and the CHN said once they start solids not to increase their milk anymore. Also when you are feeding them 'meals' rather than spoonfuls and before their milk rather than after, bubs will eventually tell you once they've had enough milk so you can reduce it then.
I hear you Ems - I have to zip it when my OH is looking after DD but then when I can see that she's getting really overtired I give in and have to tell him to put her to bed. He's so good with her but with not spending all the time that I spend with her, obviously he's not as quick with her signals. Not sure how he'll do when I go back to work in a few weeks. I have a feeling my little DD will be a DVD addict on Mondays and Tuesdays !

:(Poor Casey had a temp of 39.2 before,I have given him panadol but its still high but he is asleep, doesn't help that Hobart is stinking hot today....how is MR G C38? I have the aircon going but upstairs there isn't any,I could have casey down here but Jake thinks its funny to wake him..grrr
I think it maybe a virus? I dunno....

ok so now I think hes awake
We are meant to go to Nan & Pops tonight as its Poppy's bday,I will see how Casey is perhapes DH can just take DS1 if Casey still has a temp.
seems like every baby is sick and cranky today, mine too
he is soooo grumpy and keeps screaming like in pain and he has been pooing a lot even when not in his car! his cousins have the spew/poo bug so looks lke i might be in for some fun:rain:
Awww.... :hugs: BB & SMO3. I hope your bubba's get better soon.
I have the same problem with DH sometimes. He gets Sam for all of 15 mins while I make HIS lunch each night but he just lays there watching TV and every now and then he shushes Sam... Duh! He needs a little more work than that! Sam gets bored very fast with DH.
And the "tests" were on special in Woolies for $5.50 so I got one... just to humour you lot! AF had not come back yet so I doubt I am UTD. Will let you know in the morning. I think it's better done with the first morning pee, right?
aw mos we cant wait till morning!!! u shoulda got the 2 pack so when nothing shows up this arvo u still have one to do properly first thing in morn. how can u be patient enough to wait? that would kill me. i remember testing like nearly every day last time waiting and even after i got my bfp i did another one a week later cause i panicked and thought imagine if im not really preg?
 SMO3, that reminds me of when I found out I was PG with Sam. I did a test on a Sunday morning but saw the Dr the next day. She gave me some info and told me to come back in 4 weeks for a referral to the OB... and that was it! I said to her "Aren't you going to do a test?" and she repled "Why, do you have a reason to think you might NOT be pregnant?". I said no but I thought Dr's do a test to confirm. She said they would do the same pee on a stick test that I've done and they don't give out false positives so I'm definitely pregnant. I think I was just too excited and it didn't seem real!
Aaaahhhh makes me want to do it all over again reminiscing like that... Even though I was only like 3 weeks PG, it made me realise why I'd almost fainted at the markets the week before and my (.)(.)'s were KILLING me!
39.2 is pretty high bb did it come down much with the panadol? poor little man
:hugs: BB for poor wee Casey. Poor little munchkin has a high temp.
SMO3 :hugs: for little Dylan, theres some sick bubba's today.
Summer has been okay since spotting the white spot. Nothing too narky. She saw the paed finally today. He confirmed the silent reflux diagnosis and also said that it does sound like she has a slight cows milk protein intolerance when I told him the changes in her poo's since cutting out dairy products.
Also, she's jumped from the 50th percentile in her height to the top 90th percentile  but she is still in the bottom 25th percentile for her weight, same growth line for months, so paed says she is growing beautifully and is just a naturally tall and slim bubba (which I knew already of course!). It was also paed's b'day today, so I took him in a mini mud cake from Michels Patisserie - so hard not to eat it :crying:
DP also the same with Summer. The crying doesn't bother her so he sits there patting her back while he watches tv and her crying just escalates until I have to come in in the middle of cooking dinner or something and just grab her to calm her down again - MEN!
Hmmm what else?....
MOS - TAKE THE TEST NOW!!! We can't wait till morning :crying:
I remember my test when I was PG. A faint second line. So I took it again that afternoon, a stronger second line. So I bought another test and took one the next day and that afternoon, very strong line. Then booked in with Dr and blood test to confirm. I was soooo excited. I had to keep all my sticks (ewww I know) for a few days so I could keep looking at the positive line lol. DP wouldn't let himself believe it until I saw the Dr and had blood test, no matter how many POAS tests I took!
' OMFG! The MIL has fallen over and broken her arm in 3 places leaving the hospy..
OMG MOS your poor MIL, that must have hurt :(
On another note, anyone having probs getting on to facebook or is it just me?

Thanks for all the comments about the photos guys! I was going to give them photos of their own kids, but I'll see what happens :)
Casey is a bitt off today, just not himself :( & Im so tired & both boys don't want to sleep
Casey has let out a few high pitched screams today sounded like he was in pain  gum @ the bottom feels swollen to one side.
I am going to get a tattoo done:thumbsup:I figure if I can have 2 c-sections(which hurt like hell) then I can get a tattoo :laughing:It will be Jacob & Casey's names joined together in a circle :D If I have another child....hmmm not sure maybe put them in the middle
aww poor Casey! I hope he feels better soon.
And you won't even feel the tattoo after two c-secs!
I swear I could have written this post about my DP! Sounds similar. I know how frustrating it can be, you poor thing!
seems like every baby is sick and cranky today, mine too

 SMO3, that reminds me of when I found out I was PG with Sam. I did a test on a Sunday morning but saw the Dr the next day. Ahh how strange! I got sent for a blood test. I remember when I first thought I was pregnant. DP poked my boob gentle and I went "ow that hurts!" and then we both gasped, put our hands over our mouths and stared at each other. I'd only ever had sore boobs once before that ever, and it was when I was preg (I mc'd at about 7 weeks.)
' OMFG! The MIL has fallen over and broken her arm in 3 places leaving the hospy..
Oh no!! Your DPs family is having such a horrible time at the moment! :( No fair.
OMG MOS your poor MIL, that must have hurt :(
On another note, anyone having probs getting on to facebook or is it just me?
Facebook is fine for me k8y. Maybe open up a new browser??
Have to turn off the smileys as there are too many.
Am trying to do a big shop at Coles online for our new place. Need to start from scratch so it will be HUGE and I'm not willing to attempt it with DS. It's so annoying though because there are hardly any pictures! I have no idea what brand stuff I by, I just know what they look like. oh well.
It was nice catching up with my friend today, although I just rambled about how great DS and DP are and probably bored her half to death. Was good to catch up - I don't knwo what i was worried about
Hi All
Trying to catch up as usual...
MOS, thats terrible re you MIL
All the cranky bubs, Im with you girls. Miss C was as cranky as hell from 4pm, finally went down at 5.15pm, just as DH was driven home with a migraine. Its a bad one, hes loosing vision, so hope both kids good and QUIET tonight..
What else, is Casey OK or still has a temp?
Im not ignoring anyone, just exhausted helping mum with move and life in general.
Bit the bullet and Miss C starts one day a week at childcare, its on the way to Dh work, but still about 25kms away...Im soooo worried what will happen now that ABC is going down, think there will be many families w/out CC if the govt doesnt buy them out, we will see what happens. So we have jumped in to get a place incase abc does go down. BTW we DID NOT want a place at abc, no offense if anyone sends their big kidlets to abc).
Anyway Miss C was fasinated by all the other bubs at the CC centre,
We will do a trial couple of hours on Monday with me staying, and she will go cold turkey on Tuesday. I know she will be fine, but the centre director was so worrried.. told her I work from home and Im 15 minutes away.

Oh, I'm so glad you girls have said your DH's can do the same thing! I was beginning to think I'd picked a dud
Well, me going in there went down like a tonne of bricks. We had a massive arguement. I pointed out he only wants to do things 'his way' when it suits him - never at 1am in the morning - I'm free to do things the way I always have then, but anyway. :hair:
So I've handed her over this afternoon. I'm not stepping in, and she's hoarse from screaming again. I'm going to have to go for a walk in the rain in a minute so I can't hear it, or I'm going to burst into tears.
Sorry girls, my vent for the day.
MOS, your poor MIL!!! Hope she's alright, the poor old thing.
SK6 - I can't believe the director was worried?!? It's her job to take babies into care? What sort of reassurance was that meant to be for you?
And no K8y, no problems with Facebook on my end...

No I think she thought I was a worried Mum...Of course I am, But I been there before with DD1
Well she's going in to get her arm plastered and then she's coming home... I guess I'm going to get what's been coming to me - I'm going to get to do my own washing... and Sam's and theirs and the cleaning, cooking and so on... :o
 It's her RIGHT arm too!!! Oh boy...
Well I made crumbed chicken tenderloins with my fav salad. It has lettuce, tomato bits of bacon, chopped cashews, avocado, mango and a dressing of lemon juice, olive oil, cream and French mustard... Mmmmmmmm... It's my fav and the chicken's almost ready so gotta go!
How was your walk in the rain ems?
uh oh my little man hasnt drank more than a few mouthfulls really all day as in 12 hours or so im getting worried i keep offering and he has a few sucks then thats it. hes pooed about 4 times and he usually only does 1 every few days. and to make matters worse ive given him a bottle the last few days so my supply is dropping back and he hasnt feed today and i still feel kinda...empty. im just worried now my milk may dry up and he is getting sick, what if he only wants boob? so ill just keep offering boob for the moment i guess and hopefully my milk keeps coming.
Oh :hugs:SMO3. Could you express???
oh i spoke too soon he is having some boobyjuice now finally. feels like not a lot in there though. i didnt give him any dinner he usually hAS solids but i wanted him to take milk first
yeah im not sure to do. i want to wean him but he has been sooo fussy about bottles i just didnt expect my supply to drop off so quickly. and because he has been so fussy about it im just worried he might stop taking bottles if he is sick. he still on boob now im giving him both sides to make sure he gets plenty. was starting to worry about dehydration he has had a few sips here and there today but no proper feed until now

Didn't end up going for the walk MOS, DP ended asking me to take her. I got her down to sleep and DP made dinner. We managed to talk it out, and everything's hunky dory again :valentine: I just can't stand to hear her crying like that - like loosing her voice - when she doesn't have to. I'm a sook *sigh*
MOS - that salad sounds sooo yummy!
Supermum - :fingerscrossed: Dyl drinks plenty and keeps it up!
SMO3, I meant to keep your supply up. You don't have to give it to him in bottles but if he's sick and is only not eating for a day or so, you could help keep your supply going by expressing. Doesn't matter now as I suppose he's doing that himself. I hope he gets better soon. :hugs:
aw ems :hugs:, i cant stand it, i HAVE to stand over and tell dh what to do:o well only if dylan is upset. everyone tells me to let them find their own way but im a control freak and honestly sometimes my dh is totally useless:rolleyes:. dylan will be whinging and rubbing his eyes and yawning and dh will start trying to jangle a toy in his face a be all loud and silly im like ugh give to me ANY idiot can see he is tired:o. unfortunately patience is not one of my strong points
 My DH hands him back saying he's hungry!!!
Well she's going in to get her arm plastered and then she's coming home... I guess I'm going to get what's been coming to me - I'm going to get to do my own washing... and Sam's and theirs and the cleaning, cooking and so on... :o
That was my first thought too when you told us. Be careful what you wish for  Your dinner sounds divine. We had roast chicken, but I made it with steamed vegies and a mushroom and white wine sauce. Now am about to have one piece of lindt 70% dark choc mmmm (got to stretch it out lol).
ems glad you sorted things out, but sounds like a few of us definitely know how you feel  I can't stand hearing them scream like that either, when most of the time there is no need for it as they're just overtired or wanting some attention, not just a couple of disinterested backpats while they watch tv or play on the computer.
SMO3, I would have said to express too just to keep supply up if nothing else. If things get desperate, would he drink from a sippy cup? Mum says I wouldn't take a bottle and I went straight from boob to the sippy cup
lambkin I meant to post earlier that I think photos make lovely presents. Very good idea. I was looking on rabbit photo and you can do up your own calendars from photo pics etc. I was thinking of doing one for mum. You can add your own designs, captions etc. Looks like fun and not overly $$$ either. I got an email saying they were 40% and that price was $13.95, so full price wouldn't be too much, maybe $20 or so.

Oh SMO3 I am the same  only DP doesn't take too kindly to me telling him what to do and cracks wallies at me. It's so hard. I hate telling him what to do, but seriously I know best because I'm with her all day and he can't see that. He's getting better, but he can't even wrap her properly and never puts her to sleep in the cot as he never knows what to do. When I ask him to bath her I have to get her clothes etc as he has no clue what she should wear. I cleaned her drawers out yesterday and I gave him a run through of what was what so that he could stop asking me what she is suppose to wear
thanks for all the info re: FF and amounts. I have decided not to do the dream feeds, but will see how it goes, she had 5 bottles again today because she was up at 5 so figure it will work itself out!
:hugs:BB and ems and others sounds like a lot of potential teething bubs around, I think Pip is as well, a bit more whingythan usual and there is a ridge on her bottom gum, but no white there.
MOS- your family seems to have no luck whatsoever at the moment hope they are OK and I guess you'll get to cook for a bit!
DH's are soo hard, you try not to tell them but end up dealing with a bad end result !!!
wow about all your tatts I like them on other people but am a wuss.
MOS- I don't think we confirmed a time for next week, I will send around a PM.
anyway I am really tired...going to have a shower and bed :fingerscrossed: going for a walk with some of the mother's group tomorrow and then better tidy up before hubby comes home.

No worries.
Have pm'ed you the link if you want to have a look as it's all done online.
If anyone else is interested I can pm you the link too or it's just online on rabbit photos. It's full price now as I think the sale is over, so it's $24.95.
Yeah, great idea k8y. I might do a few. I could do one for the IL's with all of their grand children and one for my um with Sam and my sis' baby... great idea!

Morning everyone hope you all had a good nights sleep!
Mos- thats awful about you MIL, their family really doesn't seem to be having any luck, i hope you enjoy doing ALL of the washing and ALL of the cooking and ALL of the cleaning!!!
SM03- i hope dylan is feeding better today, a few of the mums in my mothers group are also trying to wean and finding the baby won't take a bottle, if they come up with a magical solution i will let you know!
BB i hope that Casey is all better today.
C&L's mummy- Well done Chaise!! Hope she stayed dry all last night to for you.
K8y how good is that lindt chocolate! and who would have thought it was dairy free? thanks for the tip on that C38 or i never would have looked
Ok so a huge dilema here my IL's have offered for us to move in with them! basically theire other son mobed overseas for work and his bedroom was huge so they have 3 spare rooms and we would have two of them they would even swap their room just so Quinn would be next to us. It would be rent free but paying our share in bills and only for 18months max which would be when DP finshes uni and gets a job. We are so torn and only have until monday to decide because we have to sign our new lease by then. Basically it would mean the difference between buying a house and renting for the next 3-4 years arghh so confused as to what i want. Both his folks work but his mum is a teacher so summer would be me and her although i do get along with them very well and i have lived there before. Any thoughts would be great, MOS i knwo you are living with your IL's how hard is it to stand up to your MIL about leaving Sam alone? i think that will be my major problem i can never tell people to back off!
MBQ I'll tell you what I've found from MY IL's but remember they're all different and yours may be better... or (hope not!) even worse!
At the beginning, you try to shut your mouth to keep the peace but then it's too hard. You realise that if you're going to live with them for an extended period of time, something needs to change.
What you should REALLY think about is what your DH is like. Is he the type of man who will tell his mum off if she over-steps the line, or is he a mumy's boy who would NEVER speak back to his mum? Mine has always put his mum in her place, even when I've over-reacted. He is gold and he sticks by me. He also knows that, for this to work, I need to be comfortable.
When it comes to letting baby cry in their cot a little, if someone else steps in, it can be VERY frustrating and you will explode if you don't say anything... so I say something and I know she's not listening as she walks off waving her hands saying "I know, I know...". :hair:
The annoying thing about MY MIL is that she doesn't listen, so if you ask her to do something or NOT do something, she waves her arms about talking over you about how she knows, etc, etc... and then does what she normally does anyway.
I think a major part of my problems is the language barrier. I say to her this morning as I'm looking at the little table in front of her on the lounge "Oh you've got water?" (seeing the bottle). She says "No, I've already got some, thank you". It's OK in THAT situation but when you're discussing her not picking up your baby the second he starts crying as sometimes he cries in his sleep, etc, etc, she fully "knows", waving her arms around cutting you off but half an hour later he cries and she's in there like lightening!
My point is, if she was more like my mum... no, bad way to put it. If she wasn't so stubborn about HOW to do things. IE. If I was able to just do the dishes without being told I was doing them in the wrong side of the sink, it would be much easier here. She's a control freak and won't let you do anything your own way... even if you did move out of home 10 years ago!
The other night I was cutting up veggies for DH's lunch like I do EVERY NIGHT and she was WATCHING ME - and she says "careful you don't cut yourself"...... WTF?! I'M 28 YEARS OLD!!! :hissy:
Poor thing though, she's had to sleep sitting up. She slept in the lounge room half sitting on a lounge. The Dr said she should stay as elevated as possible. They've put a half plaster on her to see how she heals and then she's seeing the specialist in a week. If it's set right, then all good and she gets a full plaster. If not, they operate on it. At the moment, she can't dress or shower on her own.
The sister and SIL were here first thing this morning trying to sort out who does what. I've said I'm going to do our washing and the dishes and generally keep the place tidy but one of them will help me with a massive house clean every second Sat. The MIL does it every Sat but she's a FREAK! ;)
They were also trying to sort out when I have to go out so that someone can sit with her if I have to leave. Oh boy, what a shock that one was. So if I have to go out, I need to organise a baby sitter for the MIL before hand. The FIL has picked some beans from the garden today and he wants them for dinner... I don't have a recipe for beans and I'm sure he'll want them as the MIL normally does them for him so don't know what to do there either...
The cousin has been moved into palliative care to just let nature take it's course. He has an infection but there's no point in treating it as it can then appear somewhere else in the body, etc. Plus, he will have no quality of life if he did survive the infection as he's totally brain dead.
So there you go... I'm just sitting here waiting for someone else to come and sit with her so I can go out and do an assignment I'd already committed to doing.
DH asked why I wasn't at the pools and I said because I have to stay here with the MIL. He went nuts saying she doesn't need baby sitting, it's just a broken arm, his sister always over-reacts, etc, etc... Not my place though. If they need help, I need to be offering to help them.
Well the nieces are all here I think so better go.
I'll be here later...
Morning all
I'm sooo tired & starting to feel like c r a p. Now I remember why I'm not a happy pregnant person
myBabyQ- I personally say go for it! What a great chance to be able to save a bit of money & have a bit less stress. I would def sit everyone down though & have a chat about some 'rules' & the way you do things with Quinn. My Mum lives with us & it's such a help. There have been a few times where I just need to duck down to woolies or somewhere & Chais is asleep, & it's great to be able to leave him at home. Also if they're having an unsettled period, an extra set of hands is wonderful. But, on the flip side, do you think they'll try & take over or tell you how to do things? That could get very frustrating if they do.
MOS -your DH's family has had no luck lately. Hope they're all doing better today.
It's already quite hot & muggy & I need to be doing housework today & it's the last thing I feel like doing :(
DP might be going to golf on Sunday, which means I need to take Chais in for his swimming lesson. That'll be fun putting a cosie on!
We've decided that DP is going to try & find a new job. One that hopefully pays a little more & is closer to home so I don't have to be driving so far each night, as I'm so tired all I want to do is go to bed. The last 2 nights he's had OT so I've had to pick him up at midnight!
Well I'd better stop procrastinating & get on with it.
Talk to you later
Woopsy, didn't mean for that to sound terribly negative. The reason we're here is to save money and maybe end up with a house rather than going back into our tiny unit and never being able to afford a house. One day I hope I am sitting in my house thinking this time was hard but I'm glad I did it, otherwise we wouldn't have a beautiful house... and room for the 3 ids we want to end up with in the end!
If it was awful beyond the imagination, then I wouldn't still be here.
By the way, just POAS and I'm not UTD! :D Kind of wish I was though.... :o Might discuss that with DH tonight...

:sleeping:OMG im so tired.......another bad night, poor casey had temps all night, panadol only brought it down slightly,so I have brought nurofen today,I finally got him to sleep @ midnight:eek:then he woke @ 3.30am(slept next to his mummy:D) he was awake for awhile grizzly & hot, then woke @ 7am he only had a nappy on but is used to being wrapped so i think he found it hard to sleep without it....he had a temp this morning but I think its down now as he had panadol,im thinking its a viral thing as hes not really chewing too hard on things but in saying that his gums are swollen:rolleyes:
but no other signs besides a temp....any thoughts c38....
hope tonight is a better night!

Supermum and K8y - you have both described DP and I at times!! Men, i tell you, you want a job done right you have to do it yourself :p
OConky - have fun with mothers group today!
Oh Kotakai, you poor thing :hugs: That's the reason I'm hesitant about trying to get UTD again in March... I was soo tired and :barf: the first four months. I don't know how I'll do that with a 9month old. DP will probably clear out, lol, I'll be so cranky :o
Nevermind MOS.... sounds like your DP was keen to try if you are anyway....;)
MybabyQ - Moving in with the inlaws would definately have its trying moments, but I guess if you had a goal and an end, it would be worth it. Good luck deciding!
BB - Poor Casey! And you! I really hope he gets better - he's had that temp for a whilev now
Well, I'm meeting my sister for lunch today - gonna have sushi train for lunch!! YUM
Poor Casey. It's definately more then teething. I'd get him checked just to make sure there's not an ear infection or uriny tract infection. Though it probably is viral. Becareful with nurophen... unless they've changed things I'm pretty sure you aren't meant to use it under 6mths. Definately don't use it if his intake is down as it's excreted by the kidneys.
MOS :hugs:to your MIL. Um is your FIL not home most of the time???ie cant he sit with her.
Poor Kotakai.. I cant imagine finding the energy to be patient during those first months. I dont know how you can drive so late...at that stage of preg the norama;;y night owl me was unconscious by 9.
Gabe his usual self. Took 30 minutes to rock/bounce him to sleep. He lasted 10minutes then I could hear him playing. Left him...20 mins later startes grumbling...10 minutes later is crying...go in try to console in bed..end up picking himup...by this time hes sob/screaming. 20 minutes to calm him and get him back to sleep. Lay there sobbing in sleep for 10 minutes then woke screaming again. Has just BF. I thought he would drift off..but NoPE. He's bright andalert playing with the cushion cover here on my lap. :hair::hair::hair:This child just seems to hate sleep
Has everyone elses view changed too..orhave I clicked something.
The posts are wider and the adds are coming down over the words.....aghhh annoying
This is the post I was going to post last night, but my internet went down, but I saved it, so here it is. Ill then get up to date with whats been said between then and now...
well ive officially started weaning my boy, or rather he has officailly started letting me. and after only 3 diff formulas and 4 diff bottles so he likes the heinz nurture .
Ive heard heinz nurture is good ill have to try charlotte on it... id prefer s26 cause you can get satchets and stuff and its more convenient..
Charli feeds every 2 1/2 hours but sleeps through the night
And I love your tatt. I have a tiny blue and purple butterfly on my ummm... how do you explain it? Just on the top corner where your bikini line comes to a point? Well - there!
ive got a "z" on my left shoulder on back..
id love to get a pic of my neices or nephews for xmas! def sounds great
boo, just gave dylan his bottle and he rejected it
dont you hate this. sometimes she loves it, sometimes she wont. Im very unnearved about starting the weaning process because of this
I am going to get a tattoo doneI figure if I can have 2 c-sections(which hurt like hell)
Id be more afraid of csection. A tattoo really doesnt hurt that much
O
Aah thanks C38 - I was wondering about the milk when they get older. I went to a talk on solids yesterday and the CHN said once they start solids not to increase their milk anymore. Also when you are feeding them 'meals' rather than spoonfuls and before their milk rather than after, bubs will eventually tell you once they've had enough milk so you can reduce it then.
see this is what I dont understand!! when do you start giving them more "meals", how much equals that, and when do you give meals before milk?
Im really confused about all that and hear so much conflicting advice.. I dunno what to do
' OMFG! The MIL has fallen over and broken her arm in 3 places leaving the hospy..
what the..??!
BTW we DID NOT want a place at abc, no offense if anyone sends their big kidlets to abc).
I used to work at ABC. Really didnt like it. The people. Ive met lyn-eve. the owner chick.. She is the biggest pretentious horrible cow. me her at the ABC early childhood training college
Well me, last nmight was bad.(being the night before last) I woke up at 12.30 boiling hot sweating. Fever. HEadache. Chills.
And you know when you have a fever, you get those real abstract disturbing dreams and you wake up and go back to sleep to the same dream? yeah the hwole night was like that.
Charli slept til 6.30 though which was good.
Well I better get to bed im so tired
night all

Kirilly's Mum - Yum. You've given me a sweet craving now
You could have come over. I would have shared 1 or 2!
I dunno....
The poor thing. I hate it when they are sick. Kirilly has had a temp of 39.6 after being on panadol for 3 hrs 3 times in the last few weeks. No other symptoms. Each time I take her to the medical centre they look at me like I'm an idiot. They just keep saying give her panadol. Which totally frustrates me as I don't know what is going on.
Last night she woke up screaming and wriggling in pain for 15 mins but no fever. I spoke to Michael's chiro and he said he will have a look at her for me. But he said it might be a urinary infection. I'm going to have to take her to our regular GP but I find it hard as she only takes bookings.
' OMFG! The MIL has fallen over and broken her arm in 3 places leaving the hospy..
MOS I wonder if someone has placed a curse on the family. Too many bad things happening.
I was hoping our meet would be in the morning so I could make it. But I guess if the afternoon works best for the rest of you I wont be able to make it. Bummer.
Fingers crossed. But it looks like Michael's reflux might be under control. Not sure if it's a combination of the meds, the chiro or the solids. Whatever it is he is not chucking much. :smiliedance:
C38 - Have you thought of triyng sleep school for Mr G? You would know better than me but they do have the ones that believe in the soft approach rather than controlled crying.
Yes my posts changed too. How do I change it back. I can't read the whole thing now. Mods are you out there. Please change it back!
Kyles - Michael loves being wrapped too. But he is getting to strong and unwraps himself. I have now put him in the grobag (6-18months) and wrap him over that. That way I know he is warm even if he pulls the wrap off. And he gets what he wants by being wrapped. Make sense?
Kotakai - you will look like one sexy pregnant mama in the swimsuit.

C38 - I worked out how to change it back. At the beginning of the thread it has a toolbar called display thread underneath the page numbers. Click on linear thread and it will take it back to how it was.
Its POURING rain. All the clothes are dirty, i washed them and now they cant get dry. Charlotte has nothing to wear to bed tonight. ugh
I have to opportunity to go out for dinner, movie and few drinks maybe tonight. My grandmother who I live with to babysit.
I feel like I should take the chance.. Since im a single mum I want charlotte not to be real clingy to me I want to be able to leave her with others.
But ill be leaving at 6pm.. its a tough time of night and the only time of day she really has her solid routine of milk feed, solids, bath, quiet play, nap, then wake for bedtime feed, then sleep for the night
I dont want to be obsessive but Im just a bit concened..
and im a bit unwell. not sure what to do

Nurofen can be used from 3months onwards its alot kinder now on the stomach etc, its best to give it when they have a full tummy though,I used it with Jacob aswell found it worked better for teething, yes I will get him checked see if I can get him into docs today incase its his ears.
Thnks Kirillysmum. Just read that it was a glitch on the site for about 10 minutes. There's a thread about it.
hi all,
c38 love your new avatar very cute.
Kirillys mum it is a bummer about the meet, but I am sure there will be more!!!
BB- your boys seem to be sick alot you poor thing.
stg- can your grandma settle her? if so I'd probably go out.
well DH got called into work so won't be home until midnight tonight :(
vent time- went and played for my brother's indoor soccer team last night and ran into another lady I play with, she wanted me to play for her team as well as they were short, no notice or anything. Pip was at my parents and I said so...she just said "your mum won't mind" yes I know she won't but maybe I do. I always ask my mum even though she will pretty much always say yes and it was 6.30 so time to organise to get Pip home for the evening. I just think she is my child and whilst time out is good, I can't and don't want to just do things at the drop of a hat now. she has also told me to bring Pip and her BF will look after her...yeah right, I don't know this guy from a bar of soap. it is funny as she has 3 kids now 17-20 but when we were all younger she used to just come to our place and ask mum to look after them, which is very rude! so she obviously has this trait.
in the end I didn't play, and she has the poos with me now...oh well
Pip is now awake....talk later
:hugs:Okonky She sounds a rude cow. You do what you feel comfy with. I was at my workplace yesterday and got the eyes roll look from a few people when I said I wasn't going to the Christmas Dinner as it's just too hard with Gabe at the moment. One commented that my Mum would surely love to have him. And yes she would, but I know how difficult he is to settle of an evening at the moment, and she cant always settle him... I have trouble, but kind of have routine that works best. Someone then made the remark well if he doesnt settle well for you either whats the difference who he crys for!!..No way I would enjoy being at a dinner worrying that he's home distressed and also chances are I would be arriving home to an even more then usually hyped child and taking until even later to get him to bed. He wont be a baby forever, and there will be a Christmas dinner net year.
Same as Pip wont be, and in a few months you may feel its ok to do such a thing.
People should just butt out..it's our lives.
Too many pages to catch up on, so no personals, just what I can remember.
I took *4* pregnancy tests. One in Italian (we were in Rome), one in German (we were in Switzerland), then 2 in English when we got back to the states. The first one I took was actually the most positive. It came up quickly and very dark, there was no question. But I was in denial, and took the other tests. DH about shouted out the window to all of Rome when the first one came back pos.
Then back in the US, our friends all had a going away party for us, and I was literally the only one without a drink, and when they asked where my sangria was I said, "I can't..." and they all were like "Hu....? WHAAAAAAAAAAT SERIOUSLY???" it was fun.
Nicklas fell asleep in the car on the way home from my grandmother's today, so I have all the doors open and the garage door open and he's still in there. If I had known he'd sleep this long (over an hour now!) I'd have put him in his cot. Now I'm worried if I move him he'll wake up. He is fine in the car, its just through the kitchen, and there's a bit of a breeze, so I guess I"ll leave him. Just would feel better if he was in his cot.
The last 3 nights, he has been a different baby. And I think its because I've been giving him some pureed veggies with his 6 pm feed. He loves them! He also hasn't been doing the "Scream until I'm bright red and lose my voice" since starting on the veggies. BUT he also hasn't had formula since I don't remember when and I wonder if that has anything to do with the screaming stopping? I don't know. Will have to try and express tonight/tomorrow morning b/c my mum is going to have him for about 4 hours so DH and I can have some alone time.
That's about it I guess!
And yes, my DH is the same. Nicklas cries and he just sits there and pats him or he stands there and sways back and forth - never tries several things to try and calm him down. Then usually just gives him to me b/c he knows he'll calm down then. Grrrr.
OH! Lastly, a college friend of mine had TRIPLETS yesterday! OI VEY! All bubs and mum are doing well. She had 2 boys and a girl, the girl was only 3 lb 2 oz, boys were 3 lb 9 and 4 lb 5 or something like that. Boy are they going to have their hands full!
hello ladies
well been flat out the last few days, lots of things on.
i bought a Nintendo wii yesterday, they are so much fun, didn't want to get off it last night.
i have been TT DD too, she has had a few accidents but this morning she came and asked if i could take her nappy off to go to the toilet and she did a #2, was so proud of her, just got to keep at it and hopefully she will be out of nappies soon.
how is everyone, haven't had the chance to catch up yet again.
the plumbers are coming back on tuesday and wednesday to replace the pipes out the front, not looking forward to the noise and destruction!
well better go and bring the washing in and fold it while Kobi is asleep.
have a good weekend all.

Rant time - my g/f is having a baby next week. Unplanned pregnancy but nothing wrong with that. But since she became pregnant she has become a nightmare. All of a sudden she is the world's expert on mothering. To the point I'm trying to avoid her.
Her advise to keep Kirilly in control is to put her in a playpen.......! She's a 2 year old not a cow.
Anyway she is having a c/s next week. Boy did she have some comments about women having 'elective c/s' in the beginning. Now she will be one of those statistics.
She and the b/f have decided to have a baby shower Sunday night. Only thing is only adults allowed. So anyone that wants to attend has to get a babysitter for their kids.
I'm going to go but I feel offended that my kids have to go to a babysitter! Am I being out of line here?
Boy are some people going to get a shock when they have a baby and they have to take them with them.
Rant over.
Oh Kirrily'sMum - sounds like Kirrily's not the cow but maybe someone ELSE is??? Why say no kiddies at a baby shower - it's a BABY shower! If you're not going to be able to put up with them at that point in time, you're in real trouble! :shame: I'd be offended too.. .or just wouldn't go - say you can't get a sitter!
And C38 and oconky, people should just BUTT OUT! It's nobody's place to tell you what you should and shouldn't do with your own child. And C38, I bet everyone would have been quite cynical over the fact that you can't settle Gabe yourself going by the comment you said one of them made. It's none of their business if you just wanted to watch telly instead of going to the bl00dy Christmas party EVERY YEAR!
MOS :hugs:to your MIL. Um is your FIL not home most of the time???ie cant he sit with her.
Yeah DH said the same thing but she worries about him. He got up with her this morning (as they wake up around 6am) and made her coffee and toast. She was telling the SIL and I about it and she then whispered to us "I worry for him, you know... I really worry for him"... They all think because he's a man, he doesn't know his way around the kitchen! He is wonderful. I love my FIL. He is such a gentle sweet old man and I know he'd do ANTHING for her. He just comes up to me and gives me random kisses on the cheek and stuff. He's amazing. She needs to give him more credit.
ive got a "z" on my left shoulder on back..
What does the "Z" stand for? And I think you should see how you fee and if you feel up to it, get out - you're still young! Do what you feel comfortable with.
babywez, congrats to your friend. I couldn't even imagine having THREE babies at the same time!
But I have to ask - were you travelling when you found out you were PG or were you living in these other countries? Sorry if you've posted it before...
I can't wait to travel again. We're going to most probably do it in May but I'd rather go to 2 or 3 places and spend some real time there rather than packing and un-packing every few days. That's my only regret from last time.
We had a call from our property manager today. Our tenants have given notice. They said they can definitely find someone else to go in the same weekend so no problems but it means we're now going to be locked in for another 6 months. They always push for 12 months and DH suggested it too but I said I'd rather 6. At least that way, if we DO go back in there, we can be sure to be in there by next Christmas. If they sign up for 12 months now, plus the 60 days written notice when we want to go in there, we won't be in there for Chrissy next year. I told him I can spend ONE Chrissy here but I don't want to spend 2 here... so 6 months it is.
I feel grumpy. The SIL has half cooked dinner which is good... I got beeped at a Stop sign on the way home. There were no cars but I did that proper legal "STOP... 1...2.." and the idiot behind me beeped! It wasn't a lengthy stop at all - just barely enough to not get booked. I'm trying to drive PROPERLY... DUH! So my finger went up and I started effing, etc... with my niece in the car! :D Oh well, she's about 14 years old so I'm sure she would have heard them before! She was off sick with a "headache" today but I was still allowed to take her out on a mystery shop with me!

Jacob was never sick until we moved to Hobart thats because he started daycare,so what he gets so does Casey:rolleyes: but on average a "normal"child gets anywhere from 6~10colds a year sounds like alot but when they are in contact with other children all the time its bound to happen.

Well what a afternoon,I rang a ambulance as Casey looked terrible pale/shivering he then threw up & went limp his temps have been over 39...highest today 39.7:eek: so I just freaked out,I was worried he may have a convulsion~I cancelled the ambulance as he started drinking his bottle & getting colour back in his skin,I did have a docs appointment in a hours time, doc said its viral infection ears etc all ok,no other signs besides temps,I said how his temp doesn't really go down with the panadol he said it wears off after about 3hours,top him up & lots of fluids hes hardly had any milk :( still has wet nappies though, he said the panadol is making more comfortable which it is,he said to try the nurofen overnight,he seems ok now just grizzly but has been smiling & laughing :cloud9:
I had the dog barking, Jacob crying :crying: & im holding Casey who is looking sicker by the min....lucky for me nan & pop came over to watch Jake,I should be used to all this with Jake but it doesn't get any easier.
I have never worried so much as I do now that I have kids.:hugs:
Oh BB, howawful. I don't know how you do it. I would be a complete mess! :crying:
:hair: gggrrrrr! Here I go again!
So I come home and find dishes in both kitchens. I do the ones inside and then I do the ones outside... just as I'm putting the first cup on the draining board (where there are 2 glasses, one mug and one bowl), the SIL walks in and says "Now I don't want to get all pedantic on you but when WEEE do the dishes, we like to clear away any that are already dry from before...".
I WAS GOING TO DO THEM ALL AT THE SAME TIME - THEY STILL GET DONE!!! :banghead:
Thank you.....

:hugs: BB, you're alot more together about it all than I would be! I'm dreading DD's first really high temp and illness... I'm honestly worried about my capability to be calm and in control and handle it like a 'mum' :o
Speaking of which, Kizza is a bit warm today and has come up in a rash around her neck/chest. Mum said it's just a teethig rash. Her poo today was very runny, and it's not even 'poo day', so hopefully that tooth is going to make another move.
And she got herself up on her hands and knees today in a proper crawling position :yelclap: Held it for a bit then face planted, then repeated the process a few times. Bit exciting as she's been doing an army crawl type wriggle for a while but hasn't been able to hoist herself up. Will have to take a video...and try not to let my voice get too hysterically excited like I do :o
Oconky - She's a bit silly for getting her knickers in a twist over that. You did the right thing by you and Pip, so bugger her.
And you too, C38! I agree people should just keep their opinions and eye rolls to themselves. I've never noticed how opininated and know-all people can be until I got pregnant.
Killy's mum - I think it's totally valid to feel offended. Don't worry - it'll come back and bite her in the bum when she has kids.
Babywes - Triplets! Oh my gosh, I'd find a cupboard and hide! lol Glad Nic is doing so well - you must be relieved! I'd love to avoid a screaming match before bed lately! I leave DD in the car if she's out to it too. I usually keep a magazine in there so I can sit with her as the car is nowhere near the house.
Candiee - Yay for your DD's TT efforts! All these big kids about! And I'd love a Wii... would be hard to convince DP to buy one though...he'd tell me I'd use it twice, and that'd be it... and he's probably right :p
Mos - I've forgotten where you said you were going to travel? Just back to England, or all over?

You should have told her to go right ahead. You wouldn't want to mess with the devine order of things
Sorry no personals but I've forgotten everything after reading BB's post.
:hugs: BB. You must have been so frightened. Your poor Casey being so sick and you must have been beside yourself with worry for him. Our bubs are all just so precious.
MOS FFS if they want you to help with the MIL all broken then they should butt out.
Oh c38 and oconky too and Kirrilly's mum (the posts are coming back to me now). Does no one understand that all babies are different, and so are parents. It's so frustrating :hair: Gabe has trouble sleeping and it's not like your going to have a great night out c38 when you will be worried about him being upset and unsettled, and oconky fancy expecting you to play another at the drop of a hat. And Kirrilly's mum, no babies/kids at a baby shower? I'm flabbergasted at all these ignorant people.
We had a busy day, shopping and visiting and driving everywhere. Poor Summer would just conk out in the car and we'd arrive at our next destination  She's overtired now so is doing her mantra cry in the cot. She'll conk soon, just a few tired feeble little wails coming out of her as she fights it, the little doll.
I need to vent because I'm feeling very teary.
Most of my friends don't have babies so they don't understand what life is like with a bub. My bestie doesn't seem to have a clue. They've been having reno's on their house and I've made a few comments about loving to come see them etc but she never invites me over. Then I see pics of her on facebook after a night out with some friends and wonder why I never get invited to anything  The other day she made a facebook comment in passing (after I mentioned to her she didn't have to worry about looking in the city for me for a christening dress as she works in the city a couple of days a week) that Summer and I mean the world to her.
Then this afternoon I see a post on her status an hour ago, saying '........ is busy getting the house in order and preparing some food for when the girls come over tonight'.
Talk about feeling left out :(
I'm just feeling a bit fed up with her atm.

She just might not realise you're happy to leave Summer for a little bit yet? I know it'd be nice to be asked, but maybe she doesn't want to put you in the position where you feel bad saying no and having to explain yourself?
Oh k8y. :hugs: Could she mean her "sisters" or "nieces" or anything innocent? That's not fair... I think you should write a comment on her status... or something like this:
??? :-(
Mos - I've forgotten where you said you were going to travel? Just back to England, or all over?
We're hoping to go and visit family in the UK but we also want to make a big holiday out of it. So the options are: world ticket and go to heaps of places... or just get a return to England and then make a nice big stop-over on the way home or maybe a week on the way there and a week on the way home. Thing is, there are so many places we'd like to go but no places we'd LOVE to go to... other than Vegas but DH seems to think it'd be no fun with just the two of us and a small baby. We have some friends from Noosa though who say they'll go at the same time if we go in May... I dunno...
You should have told her to go right ahead. You wouldn't want to mess with the devine order of things
Oh that's GOLD! :D I think I'll use that one next time!!! I love it! :yelclap:

:hugs: Maybe you could mention to her that you can leave Summer now as she will take a Bottle so you are keen for a girls night out! Mention it on FB...I would also say....in a joking way but not really...where's my invite..hahaha & see what she says.
Good evening lovely ladies and gorgeous bubbas!
dylan will be whinging and rubbing his eyes and yawning and dh will start trying to jangle a toy in his face a be all loud and silly im like ugh give to me ANY idiot can see he is tired:o. unfortunately patience is not one of my strong points
I could've written the very same thing about my DH! Because he works and doesnt get to spend much time with Liam, Im sure he ignores all the tired signs.....and then when Liams overtired and overstimulated, DH hands him back to me as he cant get him to settle in 5 minutes:rolleyes: or:
My DH hands him back saying he's hungry!!!
Aaarrrgggghhh me too!!
PS) hope your MILs arm is on the mend!
He's getting better, but he can't even wrap her properly and never puts her to sleep in the cot as he never knows what to do.
Have I married all your DHs? This happens to me also, DH finds it hard to put Liam in his cot, his excuse is Im left-handed and hes right-handed and where the cot is positioned its easier for me to do it.
Mybabyq - if I were you Id bite the bullet and move in with the in-laws. 18 months really isnt all that long in the big scheme of things, and it will help you and your DH save up for a house, but it is a big decision for you to make.
Stg - did you end up going out?
Babywez - huge congratulations to your friend on the triplets!Wow! That would be so fantastic! Yes, I said fantastic!
BB - OMG how frightening for you!:hugs:Poor Casey, really hope he starts to feel better soon. I would've lost it completely
K8y - I understand how you feel about being left out. I recently found out that work had their annual ball - found out by finding some photos on a friends facebook. When I went on leave I was told someone from work would ring me about the ball, but they never did.....
gotta go liam just woke up. catch you all soon
stg- can your grandma settle her? if so I'd probably go out.
she can settle her. well.. i decided to go but my grandmother was too sick to look after her. Im so bummed.. They were going to dinner, movie and drinks. gah. oh well.
Charlotte has been screaming for the past couple hours. Unsettled all day. Dont think she is well. her eye is cleared up but dont think she is well... dont know. ive just given her some panadol arghh
Okonky She sounds a rude cow.
People should just butt out..it's our lives.
i have so many people give me the same attitude hey. its horrible
OH! Lastly, a college friend of mine had TRIPLETS yesterday! OI VEY! A
noo... the thought of twins scare me enough! are they identical? if not, were they natural of cause of IV?
What does the "Z" stand for? And I think you should see how you fee and if you feel up to it, get out - you're still young! Do what you feel comfortable with.
Long story. But its from an anime (japanese animation). Im a bit of a nerd. I like scifi, anime, gaming, and it was just for a reminder to always be myself, I ccan like what I like and that I conform to no one stereotype that I like lots of differnt things and thats just being me
Well what a afternoon,I rang a ambulance as Casey looked terrible pale/shivering he then threw up & went limp his temps have been over 39...highest today 39.7:eek: so I just freaked out,I was worried he may have a convulsion~I cancelled the ambulance as he started drinking his bottle & getting colour back in his skin,I did have a docs appointment in a hours time, doc said its viral infection ears etc all ok,no other signs besides temps,I said how his temp doesn't really go down with the panadol he said it wears off after about 3hours,top him up & lots of fluids hes hardly had any milk still has wet nappies though, he said the panadol is making more comfortable which it is,he said to try the nurofen overnight,he seems ok now just grizzly but has been smiling & laughing
I
never take chances.
My cousins son, when he was 13 weeks old had a flu or something, he got taken to hospital and was in for a little while cause of it. then they released him. my cousins and his wife protested, they said he was still sick. but doc said take him home. They took him home and not even an hour later took opics of him. His eyes were wide like dinner plates and he was limp and ill. Half an hour later he stoped breathing. Was airlifted to brisbane hospital. His breathing stopped for 15 minutes
He is now 2 years old with severe cerebal palsy cause of the no breathing for so long and heart stopping...and he cant do anything.
Turns out the reason for it all, was get this, dehydration. He should have never been released from hospital. Its why he stopped breathing and all that. The hospital did it to him.
He was such a happy baby. at 13 weeks laughed his head off.. and now his life is ruined cause of morons at Caboolture hospital.
But yeah they are suing. Its open and shut case more or less.
But yeah dont hesitate when it comes to sick babies. Go with your instincts
gggrrrrr!
:banghead:
Thank you.....
idiots. lol thats all I have to say

I get this alot.. I dont seem to fit in with the friends( only few of them) that DO have kids, and my old friends.. yeah it changed things. I have one male friend who is still a great friend and we do stuff but other than that its real tough to keep in touch :(

Hey girls, just a quick one. Had a shocker last night. Had my stepdad's brother and his wife over last night, and she was nursing DD and got her to sleep. She said she'd go put her down, and I didn't think a thing of it. About half an hour passed, then I heard this awful scream from her. Raced in and look in the cot, and she wasn't there - and then I saw her looking up at me from the floor! She'd put Khirra on our bed, and Khirra rolled or army crawled her way off. :( I guess she maybe didn't realise Khirra was so mobile, but geeez. I was trying to be calm about it, I just sort of said, oh yeah, she's moving a fair bit down, so we have to make sure she's in the cot for sleeping... she was very apologetic, og course. Anyway, I didn't know how badly she hit her head on the way down, so we got a locum out to check her, rather than go down to emergency. Rang the 24hr nurse line and they said because of her age she did need to get checked. She was fine, but man. My first yucky scare as a parent :dizzy:
Anyway, hope you all have a great day girls. We have to head up the coast to visit some mates
 OMG Ems! Surely you either put the baby in the COT or YOU ASK! That seems a little... ummm... airy fairy? Ditsy? How strange...
Glad she's OK though. :hugs:
She'd put Khirra on our bed, and Khirra rolled or army crawled her way off.
isnt it a heartbreaking cry they do from a fall :crying:
Morning All
BB hope Casey is better today
K8Y :hugs:Peoplejust don't get it. I feel a bit the same at times, but then I think... I don't call them much either now..
OMG Ems... what an idiot of a woman!! I'm glad bubs is ok.
Well DH & I had a long chat last night and he told me next time the SIL picks on how I do something, to remind her of her own situation. She lives with her IL's and I'm going to ask her how she'd feel if one of her SIL's came into her house and started telling her how to do things.
So this morning she took her mum down to her place (4 doors down) to shower her. While they were gone the FIL came home with fruit and cucumbers. They walked passed me vacuuming the lounge room and into the kitchen and said "oh no, you haven't put the food away!". I said it's not going to die in an hour then stopped vacuuming and did it. I washed the cucumbers to put in the fridge and the SIL says "do you wash them?", I said I like to eat them CLEAN so she said "oh that's why they don't last".... I old her I haven't ever washed THEIR cucumbers, just my own in my own house. She said SHE normally washes them as she uses them. I said "well before you go, is there anything else here that has to be done in a particular way?". She didn't get it. She just looked at it and said no that's fine..... :hair:
I just wanted to curl up and cry. I woke up early, showered myself, fed Sam, did dishes in BOTH kitchens AGAIN, sorted the washing so it's ready if the sun comes out, vacuumed the f**king house ALL WITH A BABY... and then she has the nerve to pick on me because I WASHED THE F**KING CUCUMBERS??? :banghead:
More than anything I am angry at myself for not being more obvious with her and saying what I was going to say. I considered it but the MIL was standing watching it all so I chickened out.
Our BBQ this arvo will most probably be cancelled but I'm still going to go out and prtend it's still on. I hate this. I am not a nurse nor a paid house keeper so shouldn't be treated like one. I am also most probably going to quit work... for a while...
Okonky She sounds a rude cow. You do what you feel comfy with. I had the dog barking, Jacob crying & im holding Casey who is looking sicker by the min....lucky for me nan & pop came over to watch Jake,I should be used to all this with Jake but it doesn't get any easier.
I have never worried so much as I do now that I have kids.
:hugs::hugs::hugs:BB how scary...take care
gggrrrrr! Here I go again!

gosh it just gets better....that is more than pedantic!!! I've read your other one too....she just doesn't get any sarcasm does she!
BB, you're alot more together about it all than I would be! I'm dreading DD's first really high temp and illness... I'm honestly worried about my capability to be calm and in control and handle it like a 'mum'
Speaking of which, Kizza is a bit warm today and has come up in a rash around her neck/chest. Mum said it's just a teethig rash. Her poo today was very runny, and it's not even 'poo day' so hopefully that tooth is going to make another move.
And she got herself up on her hands and knees today in a proper crawling position Held it for a bit then face planted, then repeated the process a few times. Bit exciting as she's been doing an army crawl type wriggle for a while but hasn't been able to hoist herself up. Will have to take a video...and try not to let my voice get too hysterically excited like I do
that is soo exciting but scary to think some bubs will crawling soon
I need to vent because I'm feeling very teary.

k8y that is a shame, i'd be asking her about it...I am a bit the same with my friends not having kids...which is why I like mother's group and our meets!!

oh ems how scary, does seem bizarre with the cot just there glad she is OK. enjoy your day
well all good here got up early as DH had an early appointment and I went to the gym, planned to go to a local cafe from brekky but it was shut????? so ended up cooking at home.
have to make a witches hat today for a party we are going to tonight.
anyway better get onto some other stuff...have a good weekend all
Well I stewed on it and ried and then I walked down to her house. When I got there I already had tears in my eyes and I told her I need to talk to her and she said "did I upset you?" and I nodded through the sobs. I really got to say what I needed to say.
I told her I moved out of home 10 years ago and find the way she tries to mother me quite offensive, how it shouldn't matter HOW something's done as long as the end result is the same. I pointed out that I know she'd probably be copping the same thing from her SIL's and she said she used to cry about it all the time but she's learned to "get over it". I said I can't live down the road if this is going to happen all the time. I said I appreciate her help as I can't do half of the things she does for her mother (bathing, dressing, etc) but when I'm doing something, LEAVE me to do it without criticising. I told her I already feel self conscious enough cooking for her family as I know they're set in their ways and I can't cook Lebanese food but she makes me not even want to try when she picks like she does. I said lots of things about how she mothers me but I have a mother and she hasn't mothered me like that in years. I said her an her mother make me feel like I'm no longer a woman, wife and mother but a 5 year old child. Either that or neither of them have ANY faith in my capabilities.
Oh it was awesome! And I learned they're all relying on me to watch their kids after school on Thurs when I told her I'm busy all day Thurs. She's going to sort herself out! I told her I am meeting up with friends and one of them is travelling down from the central coast for it so I really want to make it! :D So YAY! All sorted.
I feel soooo much better and she's asked me to say to her "I've got it under control so please butt out" the next time she does it (because we all know she won't remember our conversation for very long!).
As predicted, my friend has cancelled her BBQ (she always does it so it was expected!) and so now we have to find someone else to visit as I really want out of this house ASAP! I haven't told anyone in the family it's cancelled because then we'll be expected to stay home and I don't have anything prepared for dinner.
Have a wonderful weekend all. :hugs:

Thanks girls...Casey's is still not 100% but not alot I can do lots of cuddles....he has no other signs of anything but temps,strange.....he is better today but temp was slightly raised before.
We went to a christening this morning but only stayed at short while afterwards as Casey is still not himself, they had it on a Navy Ship ;) pretty neat,windy/cold lucky the rain stayed away, the mum & dad used to be in the navy,DS1 loved it! He was such a good boy too :cloud9: he has been a good boy latley Jake...hope I dont jinx myself here:laughing:.....well better dash casey needs me:D
Charlotte had a few spots yesterday, now todayt have multiplied. They are head to toe on her. bottom of feet to top of head.
Any idea what they are.
They are just very slightly raised bumps
She has been whingy all day but have no idea if its related to that
http://groups.msn.com/June08-mumsnbubs/stgkerripics.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=655
Has she been hot and sweaty? Could it be heat rash? It can't be a reaction to washing powder if it's all over... Have you covered her in a new cream or tried a new soap in her bath?
My vote would be a heat rash... But if they go blistery, worry about chicken pox!
C38 will know.
HI All
Hm Stg could be a lot of things. If its chickenpox You'll know soon as the spots will turn to blisters. Often they have high temps and are miserable the day before the spot coming and that first couple of days. If they dont turn to blister but she has a temp then its probably a virus. If no temp then it's probably a heat rash or some babies get a teething rash
MOS glad you got thing off your chest with the SIL.. be intersting to see how long peace lasts. Shame about the BBQ.. go and have a nice quiet diner somewhere with sam and DH:thumbsup:
Do you ever have those days you just want to do something but you're not sure what. I feel like that today. decided at the last minute Id go to a country Ag Show to watch my Belly Dance Group perform as the weather was better outside then it looked. got halfway there (40minute drive) and could see the clouds coming. As I'd only grabbed the sling not the pram (thinking it would be easier in the paddock it sheld in) I ended up turning around and coming back to town and going to Salamanca Mkt..where I enevitably dont buy anything except food. So a spring roll, a steamed bun (which I tossed most of as it was yuko) and a sausage with onion and sauce later I got back to the car with a tired and whingy boy (who had actually slept in the car and sling..but obviously not long enough)..who screamed the whole way home. He then had a sleep and a BF while I read the paper and started on the fudge that I actually brought as presents for the girls from work who just had babies... He's been down and had a play but was whingy still so he's back in bed..and I'm trying to avoid more fudge.
Oh Ive lost 900gm...well had until I ate the fudge:D
That's about my day. Still feel like I want to do SOMETHING...

C38 I have a question for you...........:D
Now Casey's has woken from his sleep yesterday & today(this arvo) shivering with really cold hands & feet & blue lips also looking very pale,I took his temp & it was low 35deg(this happen yest so I knew it was going to rise as thats what it did) & sure enough it has,I gave him some Nurofen hes also been having panadol, the doc said yesterday Nurofen is ok some babies/infants it works for really well & its longer lasting.
My Question~ is that "normal" for a fever to go from 35deg(looking pale etc) then rise quickly?? I know about febrile convulsions etc yest his temp reached 39.7:eek: he now has colour in his skin....could the doc be missing something?
No other signs besides temps,no rash etc doc said most like to have a viral infection? not teething(although he has swollen gums)
Off milk, drinking small amounts, but is drinking some water, nappies are still wet but taking a bit longer to fill naturally, doc said yest no sign of dehydration.....I just want him to feel better.
He is grizzly one min then happy as larry the next  poor thing
Any advice ?????
Thankgod for c38:yelclap: & congrats on the weightloss!!
BB: Babies sometimes drop their temp when they are sick as well as it going up. The shivering sounds a bit like a rigor...which is also a reaction to temp changes. Its common to get really rapid changes in temp with a viral illness ..this is also what causes febrile convulsions...ie not the height of the temp..but the rate at which it is rises....hense Panodol/Nurofen don't necessarily stop them from happening...its just whether the child's prone to them or not.
What's he like in himself... obviously cranky.. but is he listless, floppy, pale??? Does he have interest in things at least on an off??
Did the GP take any bloods or test his urine??
If you dont think he's any better then yesterday...which he dosen't sound.. then I'd be goin to the RHH and asking that they at least do some bloods and check his urine. He may also be getting near to needing fluids if he's not taking much. Water is better then nothing but they need the energy from their milk when they are really unwell.... the low temp could be from low blood sugar.
Sorry don't mean to panic you. Obviously it's hard for me to say without seeing him. You will know in yourself if you think he's getting better. But from what you are posting he sounds quite unwell still.
It probably is a viral thing...but there are some nasty viruses out there too. And it's kind of weird he's not got a snotty nose or red throat etc.

Thanks C38 :D He is now laughing with his daddy I can hear him in the other room :rolleyes:
No bloods etc were taken,he seems good now  I think I just panic etc,he is grizzly but has drunken a bit more of his bottle,he is not pale or floppy now, only pale when he was shivering,Nurofen is making him feel better so thats the main thing.
No snot or red throat...he slept better last night slept through infact,I could hear him cry out a few times but he went back to sleep....he is interested in playing etc....
If he gets worse I will not hesitate in taking to RHH or Calvery they are great there too.
Temps can last a few days cant they? as the virus passes?
Yeah average virus 5-10 days
If he's laughing thats good. It's obviously when they are miserable and just want to lie there not relly interested in much that you worry. Like I said you will know in yourself if he's not right, not getting better. Sounds as if he is ...just slowly. The temps of a virus typically swing up and down...but the height of the peak that it gets to decreases if that makes sense ( ie doesnt go up as far each time). Where as with a bacterial infection it teds to go up and stay up...or only go down a bit before it peaks again..and the swings are not as dramatic.... (though obviously some kids have different patterns...just to throw you off...)
It must be horrid. I will be the biggest wuss the first time Gabe gets sick.. I'm fine with other peoples familys... but hopeless when it comes to my own.... I used to drive my dog to my mums at 630am for baby sitting if he was sick and I had to work, as I hated leaving him.
I recon the minute Gabe hits daycare he's gonna be hit with it all:cool:.
:hugs: BB for you and Casey. c38 I agree, I too will be such a wuss when Summer gets sick. She's booked into daycare starting Jan :(
Thanks everyone re my 'friend'. I am just going to let it go. I'm worried I'll sound whingy if I say anything. Now I feel I don't have a best friend anymore while all my other friends have their bestie. Makes me feel very much alone. Summer will have to become my psuedo bestie now lol.
On a brighter note, DP and Summer came home from swimming today with 2 dozen different coloured roses for me that they picked out together :cloud9: So lovely :valentine:
I'm tired. Big day cleaning and stuff today and Summer has been overtired all day so very whingy. Been trying to trial her in the grobag today but it hasn't been the best day for it.
Watched Get Smart on dvd last night while DP at his footy semi-finals. Very funny for anyone who loves Steve Carrell movies

Thats where Jacob picks up his bugs....daycare:(....but being @ family day care the lady is quite strict & wont accept the kids if they are sick eg with temps etc
Thanks for your advice,he was cranky pants before he has rosy cheeks aswell....I think he is teething aswell, jake would sometimes get a cold when he was teething,he suffered really bad with his 2yr old molers:crying:

she can settle her. well.. i decided to go but my grandmother was too sick to look after her. Im so bummed.. They were going to dinner, movie and drinks. gah. oh well.
Charlotte has been screaming for the past couple hours. Unsettled all day. Dont think she is well. her eye is cleared up but dont think she is well... dont know. ive just given her some panadol arghh
i have so many people give me the same attitude hey. its horrible
noo... the thought of twins scare me enough! are they identical? if not, were they natural of cause of IV?
Long story. But its from an anime (japanese animation). Im a bit of a nerd. I like scifi, anime, gaming, and it was just for a reminder to always be myself, I ccan like what I like and that I conform to no one stereotype that I like lots of differnt things and thats just being me
never take chances.
Go with your instincts
idiots. lol thats all I have to say
I get this alot.. I dont seem to fit in with the friends( only few of them) that DO have kids, and my old friends.. yeah it changed things. I have one male friend who is still a great friend and we do stuff but other than that its real tough to keep in touch
Oh that is so sad
Hey girls, just a quick one. Had a shocker last night. Had my stepdad's brother and his wife over last night, and she was nursing DD and got her to sleep. She said she'd go put her down, and I didn't think a thing of it. About half an hour passed, then I heard this awful scream from her. Raced in and look in the cot, and she wasn't there - and then I saw her looking up at me from the floor! She'd put Khirra on our bed, and Khirra rolled or army crawled her way off. I guess she maybe didn't realise Khirra was so mobile, but geeez. My first yucky scare as a parent
Anyway, hope you all have a great day girls. We have to head up the coast to visit some mates
:eek:Oh my gosh.....glad she was alright I would have freaked out!!
More than anything I am angry at myself for not being more obvious with her and saying what I was going to say. I considered it but the MIL was standing watching it all so I chickened out.
Our BBQ this arvo will most probably be cancelled but I'm still going to go out and prtend it's still on. I hate this. I am not a nurse nor a paid house keeper so shouldn't be treated like one. I am also most probably going to quit work... for a while...
:hair:
So YAY!
 Good on your MOS!!!! :yelclap:Lets hope she got the message loud & clear......
ems that is dreadful :( I am so glad she is okay. I always worry about Summer falling or being dropped as our house is fully tiled, so it's quite a hard fall. Something that I feel anxious about every day  The lady who put your bub in there must have felt awful, but seriously, how come she put her on your bed and not in her cot?
Thanks BB bestie :shakehands:
Thankgod for c38:yelclap: & congrats on the weightloss!!
ohh no poor bubba. Hope he is well soon.. Im feeling your pain at moment.. Charlottes blistering.. I think. A couple on her head have started to blister. SHe was grizzly yesterday and all day today.
Poor little chicken. She is head to toe in calamine til I can get to the chemist tomorrow for that stuff you bath them in..
I gave her special treatment. There are two things she LOVES and is OBSESSED with that I dont let her have usually - remote controls, and my phone lol. I gave her both to play with while I put the lotion on. She's had these really pained squeels and cries today. Throw in the mix a bit of reflux. :(
I guess its the chickenpox.. wonder how the hell she got them!?
Poor little Charlotte... if they are blistering up..then its definatly "the pox".. poor possum. Who knows how she got them but liek where do you get a cold from....they are contagious from about 24hours before the spots come out up until they have all burst and crusted over.......just takes someone brewing them to sneeze on her...
Have you had them stg??/ Adults usually suffer more with them then kids:confused: I can vouch for this..had them when I was 23...was AWFUL
K8Y So lovely for Dan and Summer to bring you roses:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::valentine::valentine ::valentine:
Anyway she is having a c/s next week. Boy did she have some comments about women having 'elective c/s' in the beginning. Now she will be one of those statistics.
She and the b/f have decided to have a baby shower Sunday night. Only thing is only adults allowed. So anyone that wants to attend has to get a babysitter for their kids.
I'm going to go but I feel offended that my kids have to go to a babysitter! Am I being out of line here?
Boy are some people going to get a shock when they have a baby and they have to take them with them.
Rant over.
I had 3 friends with toddlers come to my baby shower, and 2 asked if they could bring them. We had to say there wouldn't be anything there to occupy them, but we had it at my grandmother's house, and to have 15 people at my grandmother's house...well my grandmother panics when just me, DH and NIck are coming over! She would have REALLY freaked out with toddlers there. But yeah, sounds like this friend of yours will be in for a shock! I'll be intersted to see if she changes once the baby gets here. There were lots of things I said I'd do or not do as a parent, and I've already re-negged on most of them!
babywez, congrats to your friend. I couldn't even imagine having THREE babies at the same time!
But I have to ask - were you travelling when you found out you were PG or were you living in these other countries? Sorry if you've posted it before...
We went to England, France, Italy and Switzerland over 25 days before we moved from the US to Australia. It was wonderful! At the time though it seemed so long, esp. when I found out I was pregnant. I was SOOOO tired, but that was the only symptom I had, so I really had no clue. I thought I was tired from walking all over London and Paris! We LOVED Italy and are dying to go back there and take Nick!
Well what a afternoon,I rang a ambulance as Casey looked terrible pale/shivering he then threw up & went limp his temps have been over 39...highest today 39.7 so I just freaked out,I was worried he may have a convulsion~I cancelled the ambulance as he started drinking his bottle & getting colour back in his skin,I did have a docs appointment in a hours time, doc said its viral infection ears etc all ok,no other signs besides temps,I said how his temp doesn't really go down with the panadol he said it wears off after about 3hours,top him up & lots of fluids hes hardly had any milk still has wet nappies though, he said the panadol is making more comfortable which it is,he said to try the nurofen overnight,he seems ok now just grizzly but has been smiling & laughing
I have never worried so much as I do now that I have kids.
You poor thing! I would have been completely freaked. I know what you mean about the worrying thing. Problem is I was a big worrier BEFORE bub, so its just worse now. I worry mostly about going to check on him during a nap and he's not breathing. Its an awful feeling climbing the stairs and thinking like that !!
Talk about feeling left out
I'm just feeling a bit fed up with her atm.
It is really hard when you have children and your friends dont. My bestie doesn't have kids, and has recently decided she doesn't think she wants them at all. Its tough b/c you don't want to hear about their work/social life all the time and they don't want to hear bout bub all the time. In the space of about 5 or 6 weeks my bestie invited us places 3 times, and each time asked if we could get a sitter. So we get the invites, but its like, "Can you leave bub behind?" and I just feel like she doesn't get it sometimes.
I dunno...
I know its easy to say since I've been there, but you're not missing much in Vegas!! And I think your hubby's right, it wouldn't be any fun just the two of you and a baby. What about Dubai? It seems fairly central between Europe and Australia. We looked at stopping there when we were going to come to Australia straight from Europe (we ended up going back to the US and coming from there).
G
Babywez - huge congratulations to your friend on the triplets!Wow! That would be so fantastic! Yes, I said fantastic!
I could see how having your family all in one shot would be great, and how when they're all older it would be great. But I think the first 10 years are going to be REALLY tough!
noo... the thought of twins scare me enough! are they identical? if not, were they natural of cause of IV?
Not identical. I think they must have been IVF, she didn't say and I didn't ask...I felt it was kind of a rude question as we're not super close. But I know they had been trying for a baby for a LOOOONG time, so I'm assuming it was IVF.
Hey girls, just a quick one. Had a shocker last night. Had my stepdad's brother and his wife over last night, and she was nursing DD and got her to sleep. OMG. Poor little thing! I would have been a bit mad! But I'm sure she was horrorifed enough as it was. Y'know, when Nick was just a couple of weeks old, DH put him on a STACK OF PILLOWS and he rolled off and fell onto my laptop...the screaming was awful. And I ended up screaming at DH and then felt bad for making HIM feel even worse than he already felt...even our midwife that taught our birthing class said one of her babies rolled off the bed. I guess it happens, but jeez you try to be careful eh.
Only have TWO christmas presents left to get! We ended up getting Nick a few things today, even though we weren't going to. He's got a Cookie Monster toy (my DH is obsessed w/ CM), a Eeyore soft toy (Nick loves watching Eeyore go 'round and 'round on his mobile), a little pool (not an inflatable, sides just hold up w/ the water), and building block bowl things. Hard to explain. Gosh I think that's it. We got floaties for the pool, too! We were going to start swim lessons Saturday but all the pools on the GC are closed, possibly for up to 5 weeks!!!!
k8y, can I be your bestie too? :D
stg, you poor thing. I hope you've had the chicken pox before. I've never had them but also heard you get them heaps worse the older you get. I got vaccinated bout 4 years ago. I figured if I was going to start trying for a baby I didn't want to end up with the chicken pox when my kid brings them home from kindy... so I got vaccinated and then we didn't end up starting to try back then anyway... but I'm done now so all's cool.
We had a wonderful dinner tonight. Some other friends called us and invited us over for dinner and it was much better than it would have been at the other friends place! :p They have 2 kids, so gorgeous. Their younger one, a little girl called Olivia is just learning how to walk so I helped her up and walked her towards me and then she didn't want to stop. So her dad sat opposite me and she took turns walking between the both of us. She had the biggest smile on her face every time I clapped and cheered for her. I can't wait until Sam's doing that. :yelclap:
babywez, I've been to Vegas before but DH hasn't. I liked it but wasn't old enough to gamble. We are both poker freaks but most of all I love anywhere that I can lie by a hotel pool so as long as it's sunny, I'm not too fussed. I just want to go somewhere I haven't been and somewhere sunny. We did the trip 2 and a half years ago, just before we moved to Noosa and we went to: Manchester, London, Paris, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam and Dubai on the way home. Dubai didn't do much for me at all... to me is seemed like the Gold Coast but with more cranes and more dust/haze from all of the construction - nothing special. Oh and asian countries or places where I have to worry about what I'm eating don't appeal to me either. I guess I am a little picky about where we go, eh?!
BB your heart must have been breaking to see Casey shaking like that. You poor thing. :hugs: I hope he's on the mend now.
And about babies rolling off beds, I remember the midwife at the hospy telling us how easy a baby can roll, even when they're a day or two old. She said there was one lady in the hospital who left her baby on the bed to quickly duck to the bathroom and heard a thud and next thing she knew, bubba was on the floor. Not sure if that was to make a point or true or not though...
Well tomorrow I'm making a roast. I've ever made a roast in my life. Just never bothered doing such a big piece of meat for just the two of us... I'm sh!tting myself! How do I know how long to cook it for? And the SIL rubbed it in garlic and prepared it for me today so do I put some oil in the bottom of the baking tray? I sound stupid. I can cook the most obscure dishes, beatiful pastas, mussel soup, fish, gourmet pizzas, indian, chinese... but do you think I have ANY idea how to cook a roast?! NOPE! So I'm stressing.....
Monday I'm cooking my lasagne for all 3 households by request. That's 8 aduts and 6 kids. That doesn't scare me like this bl00dy roast does!

Hey girls,
Just a quick one as we only just got back from the coast, and I'm buggered.
I'd vacuumed our room earlier in the day and piled cr*p in DD's cot. She has a granddaughter not much older than Khirra and apparently her mum just puts her on the bed with pillows around her, so she didn't see any harm in doing the same with Khirra. She did feel awful, so I didn't want to make a huge deal out of it when she already felt bad. I have to admit up until about a month ago, I sometimes slept Khirra on our bed with pillows, but I know she's very capable of moving now, so stopped when I knew she was getting mobile.
I wish had of just called out to me to move the stuff out of her cot. But no harm done in the end, I guess. Khirra's really been getting the hang of rocking back and forwards on all fours today.
Oh stg, meant to mention, Khirra's teething rash looks kind of like blistery little pimples... but hers is just on her chest/neck area. Hope it's not the pox for Charli's sake, poor poppet!
Well, I am buggered, going to hit the hay. Personals in the morning!

Yeah I'm not too keen on going to any asian countries either! I think Europe would be so much better if you lived there for a year and tried to go somewhere two weekends a month. We "only" had 25 days, but there is so much to see. We had a list as long as my arm of places we wanted to go, but had to cut it short. We wanted to spend a few days in each place, rather than do as many places as possible and forget what we saw where! And we want so badly to go back to Italy but I also think there's so much else we should see before we go anywhere a second time! Our next big trip is back to the States, which is a bit of a bummer. But we have to go see family.
As for a roast...I have a slow cooker which is sooooooooooooo good and so easy. You just put the meat in on low for 2.5 hours/pound (I think it is) so usually I do a leg of lamb or a roast pork for 5 hours and it is perfect. Other than that, I have no idea how to cook a roast in the oven! Sorry :(
This is the latest I've been up since I-don't-know-when. But not gonna make it much longer.
Thanks babywez, wish I had a slow cooker! But at least I don't feel so bad for not knowing how to cook a roast now! The friend who we had dinner with had no idea either - what's happening to our generation?! ;)
And I know what you mean about seeing too many places in such a short time. We had a month but spent 2 weeks with my family in Manchester so the rest was all squished into a short amount of time. I even got the departure day wrong and we turned up to the airport a whole 24 hours late to come home. We were very lucky 2 people didn't show for the flight that night and we were on stand-by so we got on. Emirates were so wonderful and didn't charge us a cent for me screwing up!
And I'd love to see Venice again but like you, I'd rather see a new place first.
DH suggested Alice Springs the other night. Then I realised I haven't seen much of Australia. I've been to Melbourne and driven between Sydney and Noosa and been to Cairns and a few islands. But I've always wanted to see Tasmania and Broome (Cable Beach!) and Alice Springs...
I have a cousin on the water in Spain but it doesn't exactly break up the long flight much...
No more rambling. Chat tomorrow!
Ooh, must add - I've just added pics to FB. One of them is that funny face but the pic isn't the best one... and it's not as obvious as he normally does it but you get the point...
Poor little Charlotte... if they are blistering up..then its definatly "the pox"..i had them when i was like 4...
its 3 am.. been up for 2 hours her crying. she finally asleep in my arms just now
As for a roast...I have a slow cooker.
i love slow cookers

:sleeping:Another very rough night here........Im not used to it now after having Casey sleep through....Im going to ring the after hours clinic this morning & see what they say if I should bring him in.
He still had high temps all night,I noticed in his spew( little milky spew) there were brown bits in it  it looks like old blood????? DH doesn't seem to think so though but Im like what else can it be?? he hasn't cut a tooth yet so its not his gums,he did it last night & this morning.....Its only specks of it but I have kept it as its on the blanket then I can show the docs if they want to see him....I just worry,as his temps keep going up & down which is normal of a fever.
He's drinking half the amount of milk he needs & drinking a bit of water, hes very grizzly & times has these screams that are high pitched like it pain....then is laughing the next ......I dunno poor thing....hes pale this morning but not limp or anything, still hasn't got a runny nose or anything either...strange virus if thats what it is.
Better go keep ya posted:cool:

K8y - was it you saying your bestie has no interest in kids? If so, thays very normal. Peolple who dont have kids arent interested. Before I had DD1, I was a workaholic who worked a minimum of 50 hours a week. Couldnt stand being around children.
MOS - what type of meat is it? and What cut? You need to go and buy the original "Commonsense Cookery Book" first published more than 40 years ago, has all the basic stuff in it! i still refer to mine.
Well, you know how I commented about DD1 best friend, how I didnt like her dad...well on Friday night I was working on the tickets for the school disco, and the creep tried to come onto me....FARRKK... asked me to the pub, was learing down my cleavage. Told him Im working, so no thanks. It wasnt an innocent invitation, IYKWIM. Told DH when I got home, he agreed we really need to try to sterr DD1 away from this friendship. See I knew he was a creep and a sleeze.
Miss c still isnt rolling, Im not too concerned, or should I be?
Off to hang out the washing. Another hot day here.
Meant to add, I ordered some photo calendars for Xmas pressies from the Big w website, only $14 each on special, and you can totally design it yourself, backgrounds, colours, comments etc, a diff photo for each month. be warned it Sh1tty software to use, but ok once you get the hang of it.
MOS http://www.roastingtimes.com/
stg:hugs::hugs:to both of you..poor itchy little girl
Sk6: is she holding her head up when on her tummy?, smiling/laughing/ reaching out to toys/ sucking her hands..
As long as she doing some of these and not just lying there i wouldn't be too worried...most of the babes in my mothers group aren't rolling as yet either and its still considered average. milestones have quite a wide age of achievement level...by 12 mths most have caught up. If you're a bit concerned then have a word with the CHN they'll tell you when you should be worried and refer for help.
BB reflux babies do sometimes arch if they have pain the theory being it legthens the esophagus so the acid has to go further to cause the pain. Though if a bubs (anyone really) been vomiting a bit over a few days with an illness its not uncommon to get tiny tears that bleed...so the brown speaks are most likely blood. Has he been vomiting with this?? If not it might be a sign he has silent reflux and needs meds if hes that sore..the reflux prob made worse by the illness.
Personally I think you should go to one of the EDs as its been going on sometime so I'd want tests done...most GPs wont take blood etc. At his age, with such high temps and history of less then half his usual feeds/ wet naps.. he should be a fairly high priority...so you shouldnt be waiting too long. Time it around a sleep time.... ie walk in with a pale listless baby..you should go straight in then!! Obviously Id go to RHH as theres a high chance they would call the Pead Reg to see him. Though there area few seniors there who have done a lot of paeds. Hbt Priv and Calvery also have some good paeds experienced people if you fluke right shift... though cost you heaps.
Must be the phae of the moon or something..we had one of our worst nights here. G settled easily lastnight about 9ish. Woke at 1230...I dozed off feeding him, at 115 tried puttung him back into bed..he carried on..so ened up rocking him...He woke at 230..wouldnt settle with dummy/pats/rocking so put on boob...finally in bed at 330. woke t 430...similar story...finally slept 515 to 7.. Finally just drifted off in my arms again.
I had tummy pains and one lot of runs yesterday and still feel bit off..hope he's not getting it:(
MOS - what type of meat is it? and What cut? You need to go and buy the original "Commonsense Cookery Book" first published more than 40 years ago, has all the basic stuff in it! i still refer to mine.
I have that book and it's GOLD! It's packed in a box in the garage somewhere though... might try and un-pack my recipe books...
And thanks for the info on my roast ladies. The SIL came over and she asked me how I'd like to do it. I told her I've never cooked a roast as huge slabs of meat aren't normally my thing. So she helped me put the oven on (so old she had to get her mum AND dad to come and help!) and it's such a high temp I think all instructions will go out the window! The MIL said if you turn it down too far it turns itself off.
I think I'm in for some fun times! :yelclap: :D
BB go to the hospy and let us know how you go. :hugs:
C38 hope you get better soon and Mr G doesn't get it.
BB all the best for Casey today and let us know what happens at the doctors. As c38 said, dehydration can start to set in so make sure the bloody doctors listen to you and they take care of the little man (I feel quite protective of him you know - poor little bubs) as we've all chatted for so long that all the bubs become more precious to us then just anyones baby IYKWIM.
MOS you can be my bestie too, you and BB :D I'm not the best with roasts, either under or over done. Mum keeps telling me to buy a meat thermometer as it's the best thing ever for getting it perfect. I just buy the pre-marinated cuts of meat as it's hard to get them wrong, as being marinated they are always nice and tender!
I didn't know you could do roasts in the slow cooker  I always do saucy type meals or corned silverside. I will have to google how to do that.
c38 what a tough night  Hope you feel better. Do you manage to nap when he naps during the day? Everyone always told me I should do that when bubs came but I've never been a day sleeper.
babywez I was going to reply to something on your post but have forgotten what it was now.
sk6 Summer has rolled maybe 3-4 times now but she just doesn't seem interested in it. As c38 said, when she does lay there, she's constantly lifting her head like she's trying to sit up and eats her hands, chatters, grabs toys and eats them. She's mostly happiest when sitting up now more then anything. Is Miss C similar?
ems did she lay pillows around her on the bed and Khirra rolled over the top of them
Summer was doing her tits last night laying on the bed with DP and got so angry with him she rolled over. It was so funny. She has quite the temper some times. Gosh, she is going to keep me on my toes. Don't know how I'm going to deal with the temper tantrums in the middle of the supermarket aisles etc.
Hot hot hot here today and lots to do so best get going.
We're buying some new blinds for the study (eco shutters from Freedom as they're having a sale) and I'm sanding down the bookcase and computer desks as I want to re-stain them. They're quite old and done in a reddish stain so I want a more modern stain colour on there. Should be lots of work, but at least next door has a sander I can borrow!

Hi ladies!
Big hugs to all of you guys with sick bubs, cranky bubs, stressful in-laws. :hugs: :hugs:
Sorry no personals, but I am short on time so just did a quick skim through of what I have missed.
Last night was our first night in our grannie flat and we had a great night. The King Size bed is awesome, and it was so nice to just have our own space. I even slept naked which I haven't felt comfortable doing in Mum and Dad's house but I really missed!! ;)
All of the furniture is in, but not really our 'stuff'. We have no food either so we're still at Mum and Dads a bit.
The internet carked it at Mum and Dad's after the big storm, and no net in the grannie flat. I am in the office atm typing this, but probably won't be able to get on until it gets fixed once Mum goes back to work tomorrow.
My surgery is on Tuesday, so I might not be around for a little while anyway. Elliot still won't drink from a bottle and spits out whatever he gets in his mouth from a cup so it should be interesting.
Alright, I better go before DP starts to wonder where I am.
Lots of love xxx

Oh, and I forgot to say that Mother's Direct have a special on at the moment where you buy a Hot Milk nursing bra and you get matching knickers for free.
I got really excited, but I've grown out of the largest size Mother's Direct stock in the Hot Milk brand :(
I found a 20G at Zodee though so I am ordering 'The Age of Allure' one which is beaaaautiful, and hopefully it'll be a better fit. No free knickers though. Darn.
p.s. if anyone else is a size 20 band, Zodee are the only place I can find that stock Hot Milk in a 20.
I didn't know you could do roasts in the slow cooker  I always do saucy type meals or corned silverside. I will have to google how to do that.
I just turn it on high or low, then add a small glass of water, and put the roast in! Easy as that. I am pretty sure its 2.5 hours/500 grams on low, b/c I usually leave it in for 5 hours, and our roasts are never usually bigger than a kg.
Took Nick swimming in my mum's pool this morning and he didn't know what to think of it, but didn't hate it as much as last time. We put floaties on him too, but he wasn't too keen on them. I told DH they weren't going to hold him up, and all they did was make him float on his back. Pics are on facebook. It was quite funny.
Have to go buy new sunnies...mum stepped on mine yesterday and smashed them! Any excuse to go to Target, and bub's asleep, so DH will stay home with him. Look out Target!!!
Thanks for the Mother's Direct tip Lambkin. And best of luck with your op this week. I hope it all goes well. Please let us know as soon as you're back. :hugs: We'll miss you. :crying:
I've been a busy little bee this morning. I fluked the roast. I turned it once half way then next thing I looked and it seemed done. I didn't have time to put the veggies in so I just boiled them afterwards. I like to let any meat sit in foil for 10 mins or so to tenderise a little anyway. DH & I washed our car and theirs while it was cooking, I got 2 loads of washing out and Sam had a nice nap. I'm feeding him now although he's just fallen asleep on the boob.
People visit out of respect when bad things happen so some people are coming around this arvo to see the MIL. DH is out there cleaning up now. He's cleared the fridge out too which is awesome. He's such a big help. Then we're off to dig for my recipe books. :smiliedance:
Gosh we'll miss you lambkin :crying: best of luck with your op.
No personals from me either. Just a quick skim of posts. It's soooo bloody hot here today, it reached 31degrees by 10.30am :sunshine:
I've put Summer down for a nap without a stitch on, not even her nappy. It's too hot. Can't wait for air con.....
I'm off now to sand the window sills in the study to paint them gloss white before we install the white shutter blinds we bought today. Going to look great
Just got back form hospital. Thismorning she woke at 6. Crying. Sky high fever. Gave her a shower to get ready to 7 day doctor... 30 minutes away. She threw up .. like projectile alot then was quiet, limp and lethargic. I gave her panadol then left.
7 day doc didnt take appointments, just first in sorta thing. 1 1/2 wait, so I went to the after hours clinic at the hospital.
They said it was a viral infection. and if she gets limp and lethargic again to take her to emergency room.
She's perked up a bit thisafternoon but still whingy as anything and miserable.

To think I've had the heater on intimitantly here.
GOODLUCK Lambkin with the op. I'm sure El will be fine :hugs:
Hmm think I've figured his restless night. remember I mentioned buying fuge yesterday...well it was coffee flavoured. reading the ingrediants...contains coffee beans!! Poor baby been getting lattes (dont know how to get the stroke thingy above the e) I can smell coffee in my pee and milk this am...:o Can't be too bad as I can't handle trong coffee...gives me palpitations and makes me restless..and I felt fine apart from my gut pain. (had the tummy upset before I brought the fudge.)
He did a similar thing once when I had 2 cans of cake at a friends house.
Poor BABY:crying:
BAD Mummy:(
He has also had x1 greenish slightly loose poo...so he's probably got a bit of my tummy bug too
K8Y..I can sleep during teh day...but generally as he only naps 20-40 minutes byt eh time I get to sleep he's awake. He slept40 minutes theis am...then woke and cried a bit then just lay there plaing for 20... But I didnt sleep much as I knew he was awake and would yell any minute...
He's asleep now though..hoping for 1-1 1/2 hrs.
My parents are coming to take him and dog for walk later this arvo so I can get a garenteed hour. I dont feel too bad at the moment....it will hit at about 4ish

BB and STG - Just wanted to give you both lots of :kiss::kiss:.
MOS- I make the best roasts. Too bad I didn't get on here in time to tell you what you need to do. It was the first thing I learnt to cook and now I think I have perfected it. Next time you make it let me know and I will help you. Or come over here. I'm in Glebe and I can show you what to do. Only takes about 2 hrs at the most.
Well girls I have decided not to go to the childless baby shower. Kirilly has a fever and is very congested. So I told my friend I'm not going to take her to my mums and risk her getting worse. She said she understood my child was a priority but she didn't sound too happy. Might need a new best friend here too!

All these poor sick bubbas (and poor mummies having to deal with the worry) :hugs: Hope they all start picking up soon :fingerscrossed:
Lots of warm thoughts for your op Lambkin - we'll be thinking of you hun. :goodvibes:
MOS - sounds like you've done a fantastic job with the roast! :chef: And been very productive today! It was so hot here today, I've been hanging out in the media room where the air-con is just so Khirra could sleep (also doing the no-nappy naps K8y!)
C38 - I have the same problem with sneaking naps in with DD - by the time I'm drifting off, she's waking up. Frustrating! Hope you get some decent sleep in soon... it's amazing what a different person you can be just for an hours extra sleep!
Just thought I'd post a couple of vids of Kizza getting up on all fours. About to post some pics on facebook too - a couple will be of my best friends baby, Attley, who's only 6 weeks older than Khirra - you should see the size difference!! He looks like a one year old...but he's just totally adorbale :D

Argh. Im so hot and bothered. The stormstill hasnt cooled things down.
Charlotte got to the point after a feed she was laughing her head off, then she had solids, thne in the shower with her nana and she usually loves it but screamed.
I got her out. Calamined her up despite the fact i doubt the spots are itchy. She is sobbing and loosing voice from screaming at this point.
Then I try and settle her. She only wants to be over my shouder. Settles then screams settles then screams.
Then I give her infant gaviscon.
She settles. happy for a bit, now just restless and tired and whingy.
I am so fed up. I mean, does this mean her screaming last night was reflux? was it reflux the screaming in the shower? Or was it a coincidence?
Should I take her to chiropractor again? Should I demand reflux meds from doc again despite the lack of real evidence she has it. Is it just her sick?
She has been constantly demanding for the past 3 days its wearing me down mainly the fact I dont know what the hell is wrong with her.
and the heat just makes things 10 times worse
And the fact I have no one to offload her to for a while.
Sorry I needed the vent
:hugs: stg. Sorry I don't have any ideas on the reflux etc but maybe just wait and see how she is once this virus passes...
Did anyone watch the swiming thing on ACA tonight? It was awful watching those babies crying in the pool and learning to float until theuy're rescued if they ever fell into a pool. It was even worse listening to the parents of the drowned toddlers. I only just held back the tears. :(
Yes today was very productive for me. Got 2 loads of washing done in addition to my yummo roast. The SIL came over and she made a meal for dinner which was a nice light salad-y dish. I helped a little but not much. I went for a walk to Woolies and got the ingredients for my lasagnes tomorrow (cooking 2) and we also managed to find my recipe books in the garage and un-packed them. So I can't wait to get back to some of my cooking. It's a shame that the MIL's kitchen utensils, pots, pans, etc are such antiques though. I'm used to cooking with lots of gadets... I love my gadgets. One day it'll be like Christmas when I get to un-pack my pink pots and pans and my lettuce spinner, vintage kitchen scales, grater, etc, etc...
Today the FIL picked this year's first cucumbers from his garden and we washed one and gave it to Sam for a few photos. There's something about the youngest boy touching the first cucumber of the season - supposed to make sure we get lots this season or something...? Anyway it went straight in his mouth and he loved it. He can't bite as he doesn't have teeth but just loved sucking on it (yes it was clean). Am just about to post pics on FB so you can see there.
you sound like a busy bee MOS, i love cooking but never get the chnce much anymore, but at least ive larn new skills such as one hand typing like i am now..
charli started screaming again. i had a little cry along with her. i was so fed up i was not trying to setlle her.. like i was so worn down and fed up i just held her. then i had to put her down an try an calm down.
my grandmother came and took her. within minutes she settled an fel sleep.
i feel so worthless an so guilty.. she must have picked up on my negative energy thus wouldnt settle.. i feel like such bad mum. an she was so heartbroken when i jus put her down. she now back in my arms asleep...
:hugs: Lambkin...will be thinking of you.
MOS I wanted to watch that on SM but we were at my friend's house for dinner when it came on and we left shortly after. Isn't drowning the leading cause of death in children under 2 or 3 or something? So scary!
Poor sick bubs  I dread the day Nick gets sick. I think I'll be around the corner at the ER faster than a ... whatever would get to the ER fast!
I have to tell you, you've all crept into my every day life. DH said Nicklas "scooched" himself about a foot this afternoon, and I said, "That must have been how Khirra fell off the bed!" he said, "Who?" And I realised it sounded like a good friend of mine's baby had fallen off the bed. I had to explain it was a "Bubhub bub" !!! And something came up the other day about living with inlaws and I said, "Well MOS does it but it sounds awful" and he just looked at me like "Who?" Had to explain then too!
Awww stg we all have our moments. We're human - plus you have the added pressure of Charli being sick and the stuff with her dad (or donor or whatever you want to call him!). You're pretty much everything to her and the pressure would be hard to handle sometimes.
A few times I've felt sorry for myself and sat here and cried with Sam just looking up at me. I felt so bad because I can't imagine what he must have thought... if anything. I know that I remember seeing my mum cry when I was about 6 or 7 years old and it was afwul. She was the world to me. It was just her and me at the time so we were very close... and I felt soooo sad for her. I don't want Sam to ever feel like that or worry about his mummy (I was a BIG worrier as a child - always had a sick feeling in my stomach over something!). I wonder when they start to REALLY understand that we're crying and are sad?
I think you're safe for now stg and don't worry about Charli. I think their memories are so short at this age she won't remember it the next time she wakes up.
And yes I've done that short course too - the one-handed typing course! :p
I have to tell you, you've all crept into my every day life. i very much agree! i have thought things like that too lol
Babywez, I do that too - I showed DH Khirra's vid of her getting up on all fours a little earlier and he said "Who's that?" and I said "that's Khirra"... I had to explain as it also sounded like she was a close friend's baby. Well she is in a way - we just don't REALLY know each other that well!
And I didn't mean to put you off living with your IL's. I think you should go for it really. My life has gotten soooo much more bearable since the MIL has been confined to the couch. Oops, that's not nice, eh? Well it's just given me a new-found freedom! I love your ideas about sitting down and setting boundaries up front. I wish we'd done that. And at the end of the day, our goal will still be worth it so we stay. Once our goal becomes not worth this living situation, then we're outta here - that's the way I'm thinking of it. DH gave me the option the other day of going back into the unit but we decided to rent it out again for another 6 months. I'm waiting to see it on the real estate website. I'm also going to go to the open house just to check it out as it's been a few (almost 3) years and I want to see what it's like now.
I was supposed to go to the chemist yesterday... and forgot... and forgot today too. So no pill in 2 days. :o Oops! DH said if it happens, it's meant to be. I doubt it will as am still waiting for AF to return... I have a feeling I'll be waiting FOREVER!
I'm meeting up with a girl on Thurs morning at our local park for a walk and then a coffee afterwards. She posted on BH asking for company as she's new to the area, etc. She has a 5 week old baby girl. So I'll be meeting her and then heading off to meet you girls afterwards. I can't wait really... although I'm a little nervous too! :smiliedance:
No more rambling from me - someone please remind me to go to the chemist tomorrow? Good night all.
hi everyone!
Hope you all had a good weekend. First of all, huge :hugs: to Stg and BB - hope Casey and Charli are feeling a bit better today.
This is pretty much the same pattern we had here last night. Very frustrating, but the worst part is, once I have been woken up (as opposed to waking by myself), it takes me AGES to fall back asleep, Im talking up to an hour, by which time Liams awake again. Mustve got some quality :sleeping:though as I dont feel too bad today.
I have to tell you, you've all crept into my every day life.
Me too. I was telling Mum today how Im meeting up with MybabyQ and C&Lmummy this week and trying to explain that although I dont actually know you, I know you.......I know that makes sense to you guys, but Mum didnt get it at all:laughing:
Well I hit a new milestone in my career is a Mum today - I breastfed in public! Mum and I went to the annual Spring Fest at the lake today, and there were people everywhere. Id fed Liam before we left, but we spent longer than I thought and he was loudly telling everyone he was hungry. Now I hate hearing him cry, so I marched over to a public seat in the park area, and facing the lake (facing away from the public walking track) fed my child. I know its completely legal and right etc, but I really felt modern and 21st century doing it:thumbsup:
Hey, we tried feeding him some mashed banana the other night - he wouldnt have a bar of it! :laughing:And then last night we tried pumpkin and sweetcorn mash (in a jar - BAD mummy!), but he didnt like that either. Oh well, only another 9 tries until he eats it........ or not.
Am spinning out this evening. I found an old friend I used to play with when I was a kid in Melbourne on Facebook - and we moved from Melbourne in 1980!! Hopefully we will keep in touch.
OK, all from me. Fingers crossed for a settled night, and that bubbas feel a lot better tomorrow. Take care:flowerz:
MOS - Dont forget to go to the Chemist tomorrow!
Stg don't feel bad. You did the right thing you put her down safely and had a cry...and your nan took over. Gee I cry with Gabe at least once a week some weeks. It's really hard when they cry and youve tried everything ..yet just cant seem to find what they need/want. In fact tonight I just sat holding him/patting his bot while he screamed his head off ...for no real reason other then he was tired and didnt know what to do with himself. He'd been asleep in bed and had woken up and found himself there after feeding to sleep. Usually I walk around or bounce on the fitball, show him the running water in the bathroom etc etc. but tonight I have no energy...he wouldnt go on the boobie so I proped my arm on a cushion and just sat it out for about 5-10 minutes...I figured he was safe..he knew I was there patting away. He did eventually calm down and take the boob and go off to sleep.
You poor thing.. it must be hard knowing she feels sick and not being able to make it all better. hats probably what the tears in the shower were all about. Her reflux is likely to play up more when she's sick as well.
She knows your always there for her and so when shes's feeling cr@p she just wants you to know...shame they have to be so loud about it.. Im glad you've got your nan there..
MOS, Kyles and Babywez... I talk about you guys quite a bit as well...(well not just you three...LOL). I used to call you all my online antenatal group.. Now I say."one of the girls in my online mums group...blah blah"
Kyles:fingerscrossed: for more sleep tonight (hasnt been a good start...went down at 930..woke at 950, took until 1030 to get him back there)
Weirdly I dont feel too bad either. Was feeling worse at 7am. My parents came round and took Gabe and the dogs for an hour and a half walk this afternoon so I could sleep...but I read the paper in peace instead.
Oh you guys reminded me about my slow cooker. I brought it when preggers but only cooked about two things...whihc I didnt really like, so its just sat there. I had some lamb shanks in the freezer and a packet sauce base thing... so I've just put it all in to cook for tea tomorrow... The first things I cooked form the booklet were too watery. This only had two cans of rushed tomatoes as fluid...and there is thickner in the sauce base...so hopefully it should be better.:fingerscrossed:
My tummys finally feeling better. Gabe had one looser then normal greenish poo today, but otherwise has been his usual self. So maybe he had tummy ache lastnight too...though Im sure it was the coffee fudge. I swear I could smell coffee in his vomit..and on his breath.. Mum recond he smelt like vanilla:rolleyes:
Just watched "Walk the Line".. (well the end of it) I love that movie...Will be singing Jackson to poor Gabe for the next week or so now..LOL
Anyhow off to get some zzzzz
Oh MOS..you writing about Sam and the cucumbers reminded me of a friend who's son was in family day care with an Indian family. His first foods were aparently pureed chickpeas with spices, cucumber and homemade yoghurt, folloed by mild currays...first vegie ones then meat. To this day (he's16) he loves currays, and eats cucumbers like apples. (Mind you I eat them like apples too..can sit and eat a whole one)
What do the In-laws do with all the cumcumbers??
Ok I must be tired Im :ecomcity::ecomcity:too much
:wave::wave::wave::wave:
Morning all
Hope all the sick bubbas are feeling better.
I've felt really dizzy all weekend. I'm going to the dr this morning to get some blood test results, so I thought I'd get him to check my blood pressure.
Love the video of Khirra! She's so strong. Chais really tries to do that but has no strength in his arms at all. He's at that frustrated age where he wants to be on the move, but just can't, so he lays there & whinges.
And yes, I talk about you all too. My friends know who I'm talking about now
I forget everything else I wanted to say, so sorry if I missed replying to something.
Hey, we tried feeding him some mashed banana the other night - he wouldnt have a bar of it! :laughing:And then last night we tried pumpkin and sweetcorn mash (in a jar - BAD mummy!), but he didnt like that either. Oh well, only another 9 tries until he eats it........ or not.
My kids have only ever eaten food out of a jar  But on that, have you tried the Only Organic one? I get mine from woolies, but other places might sell it. He LOVES these vegies & eats them without a prob, & he hated vegies till I tried this one.
Morning all
Much better night. After teh rough start he slept until 345..then until 530, but I think he was more cold then as the temperature had dropped dramatically as it does here...I put him to one side of my bed once hed gone off to sleep and he slept until 745. So pretty good for Mr G YAY
Ems Just watched your vids, shes amazing. Hope you've started baby proofing!!
Mr G is more like Chais sounds... He can turn circles around using his hands, but gets really frustrated as he wants to go forwards... PAinful to listen to.
As for travel MOS... Aww SE Asia is wonderful. Vietnam is one of my favorite places ever...and I never had any problems with the food. There's a really nice honeymoonish type place called Langkawi in Malaysia..that would be great with a young child. There's an island there with a lake (lake of the pregnant lady or something like that) It's supposed to improve fertility...Hundreds of Malaysian women travel there to swim as a cure for infertility. I swam in it...:D.Singapore is lovely too if your looking for a shopping stop over. I'm not so keen on Bangkok.
I recon Vagas still worth a look..though obviously you wont be able to be up all night gambling. Vagas is near LA..so you could do Disney..Sanfran further up the coast..One of my favorite cities, then there's New York, you have to take Sam shopping at Sax on 5th Ave and FAO Swartz (?sp) the toy store.
Hmm where else... Oh Ireland...Northern Ireland has some gorgeous spots. Canada would be fantastic too....
How about you get eh round world tickets and ust go to London...and Ill use it for the rest of the world:D

i havent been on for ages, well a few days but thats enough to get behind.
MOS- ouch for your MIL that would have hurt, but great that you will actually get to take control for a while. Well done with your SIL too, how silly so long as it gets done who cares. AND it's not even her house so why would she worry.
Stg- I hope Charli is doing better today, when i looked at the pic i thought definately chicken pox. They do get imunised against chicken pox but maybe it's not until 18months. Well thats one needle she shouldn't have to have.
Lambkin- :smiliedance: for the granny flat, you definately need your own space with a baby. I am so jealous of the king size bed. I WANT ONE! A queen is just not big enough for 4. Goodluck for tuesday.
Ems84- That vid is gorgeous, khirra will be crawling very soon, time for you to do the crawl around your house to see what she will be able to get into. It's funny but so true you don't see everything until you get onto their level.
We're doing good, TT is going fantastic, hardly any accidents now and she has not wet the bed once. We had my nephews b,day party on sat, was good but i worry about my nephew. He is such a little dare devil and is always hurting himself doing crazy stunts. He climbs up ontop of the couch dining table etc and jumps off. He is only 2 so always falls and hits his head. He already has a scar at the back of his head and one above his eye. I really do worry i kinda think if he will either kill himself or seriously injure himself before too long. His dad is already classed as disabled after a motorbike accident broke his back.
Mybabyq and kyles, cant wait for thursday!
Ok must get ready playgroup starts is 25 mins.

That's great that she's doing so well with TT. Your nephew sounds like a typical boy. I used to say if Makkai gets to 2 without breaking a bone it'll be a miracle as he was such a dare devil! We've got to 5 so far without any probs  so :fingerscrossed: he keeps it that way.
Hi C&L'smummy ,
Good to hear from you again and wonderful news about the TT. Well done Chaise! :yelclap:
Well the cousin died around 1am this morning. At least that's what time the phone rang...
DH had asked me to put Sam to sleep earlier. He wants me to get him into a solid routine. Up until now, when he's tired he sleeps, when he's hungry he eats, etc... So wish me luck! Anyway I put him down at 8pm (instead of the usual 10-ish) and then he woke at 11:30. The phone woke him up at 1am and then I settled him again until it rang again at 2am... so I gave up at that point and put him in with me again. It's becoming a habit but I was soooo pi$$ed off because DH's mum thinks because they're overseas, she must YELL DOWN THE PHONE! :hair:
So we had a crappy night but the MIL is going out today. She's not supposed to but she really wants to go and pay her respects to the family so they're taking her today while it's not so busy she'll get bumped. Then the house will be full again tonight as the SIL is staying here watching all of the kids while the rest of us go and pay our respects.
Well best be off. Want to go for a long walk to the nearest chemist and then come home and make 2 lasagnes.
hi girls:wave:
hAVent been on as dylans been sick and miserable for a few days and now im sick:crying: ...and miserable too lol. been up all night and morning vomiting and running fever. im so lethargic and dizzy and achy oh poor me:gloomy:. days like this i just feel so defeated and alone. i have noone to help me ive been up all night with dylan and me puking. and now i just wanna sleep and the boys are miserable and cranky. my legs feel like jelly i just went to pick dylan up from the floor and nearly trod on his hand just felt it under my foot before i put my weight on it then stumbled and nearly fell right on top of him, bad mummy:shame:. hope evryone is feeling better than me seems like all the bubbas are sick at moment
I missed some posts. Thanks for the chemist reminder Kyles and doesn't it feel strangely liberating when you BF in public for the first time? I still don't feed in front of the FIL but have no probs in public - go figure!
And C38, thanks for the travel tips. Lang Kaui sounds nice. Some friends of ours went there on their honeymoon and loved it. Might look into that one.
Oh and the MIL stuffs the cucumbers with meat and rice and cooks in a tomato based soup. Plus everyone here eats them like apples to!
oh yum mos thats what i need soup
Hey all how are yas thismorning
Charlotte is alot better. Getting back to the feed play sleep routine and not AS whingy
The girls, her little cousins are over and she is laughing and playing with them which is a good sign.
She is getting up on all fours and trying to crawl. She pushes off with her legs but her arms dont move so she face plants and laughs at it.
She is soo close to crawling.
But she gets around everywhere rolling to where she wants anyways
Its rainy here and freezing. Im so bored. I need to get out of the house.
ems what a clever little Khirra - she is sooo strong :yelclap:
MOS I watched that storie on ACA last night too. It was dreadful. Listening to the parents of the drowned toddlers I just started crying. It's amazing how much more you feel for parents like this now that you are a parent yourself and imagine how horrific it must be for them. I almost couldn't watch it....
stg your doing a great job, so don't feel bad. We all have our days where we struggle and need time out, even those of us with partners who can hand them off  perhaps as c38 said, the reflux is playing up with Charlotte being sick
babywez I too mention bubhubbers by nicknames to DP too. One of my good friends I worked with understands it all as I used to sit on bubhub all the time at work while preggers
MOS am sorry to hear about your cousin. There has been some bad luck in your family so I hope some good things are there on the horizon! Good luck with the routine! I have Summer on a semi one but she still eats when hungry, sleeps when tired. She usually feeds every 3 hours though, so it's easy to have a semi-routine that way.
Oh Dr Phil just started and it's on parents leaving kids in cars.
ETA: oh it's on the fine line between parenting and child abuse. A lady left her 2 yr old in the car to go to Salvation Army for a minute, the car was parked 2 car lengths away (30 feet/10secs) and could clearly see the car and her bub. It was sleeting outside and cold and the bub was asleep and cosy. When she got back to the car, she got arrested. They're showing a video now and she was 30 feet from the car. Sounds similar to me as to running in quickly to pay for fuel.
SMO3 you sound sick you poor thing and poor little Dylan. Soup might be just the ticket. I know it's hard but try and rest if at allllll possible.
well i had some tinned soup and :barf:. reminds me of being pregnant and its enough to turn me off:o. i think dylan is so cranky cause my milks not much chop due to all the:barf: but he wont take a bottle as he is too stubborn:p
yeah i never leave mine not even to run in and pay fuel, each to their own i guess. well id leave my 11yo but not the 5yo or baby. im a bit obsessive though i dont really let my kids go/be anywhere without me. i didnt watch the show but getting arrested sounds a bit extreme in that circumstance
dylans hands are like icicles today
Hi everyone! What a lovely day it is here!
Kyles:fingerscrossed: for more sleep tonight (hasnt been a good start...went down at 930..woke at 950, took until 1030 to get him back there)
Glad to hear you had a better night last night. We did too. Liam woke up at 12.30 and then 5am - but with the 5am feed, even though he fell straight back to sleep, every time I put him down he fussed and gizzled and woke himself up. So pick him up, a minute later hes sound asleep on my shoulder, put him down, grizzle and fuss. In the end I just kept him up and he flaked it at around 7.30am, by which time Im wide awake. Aaahh, hes just keeping me on my toes I guess.
My kids have only ever eaten food out of a jar  But on that, have you tried the Only Organic one? .
This is the one we tried that he didn't like. LOL. Not worried though, will try it again tonight.
Ems - loved the video of Khirra! You've got a very strong little lady there:D
MOS - so sorry to hear that the cousin passed away. Hope theres some good news coming for your family soon .
SO3 - Hope you're feeling better soon, maybe its a 24-48 hour bug? I couldnt imagine feeling so sick and having to look after little ones too.
Well, Id better scoot. I dropped my car in to be serviced today, and they just rang to say its ready and can I pick it up very soon as they have all been advised the company has folded and they are all out of a job at 5pm today! How horrible! That's not much time to be advised of such a thing. Im dreading collecting my car and what the mood of the place will be.
Quick rant...I'm on QANTAS website booking flights to LA (2 for 1, but not really 2 for 1) and I couldn't figure out why it was $500 more than it should have been...they're charging us $496 for Nicklas!!!!!!!! he won't even have a seat! What is the charge for? I'm so ****ed! Debating whether to call and check if it is right or just book it. Would be $3700 all up, so a good deal (compared to $5500 on VAustralia!) but that just really makes me mad! I should call and say "So do we get an extra seat for that then?"
babywez, I was told the other day that it's 10% for no seat and 75% for a seat. Maybe they DO provide a seat for that price - I'd hope so! Good luck.

ohh awww I hope everythings ok
Awwww I hope BB and Casey are back soon. How horrible. :crying: Good on you for asking C38 - we have contacts! ;)
And jess...... don't know what to say about you and your nose but isn't it funny when someone hurts themselves?! You know when you KNOW you shouldn't be laughing but you struggle to hold back the laugh?! Too funny! I don't know how you do it without your man most of the time. I'd go nuts without my DH...
Well I'm not going up to pay my respects today. I might go tomorrow with the SIL. Sam's been quite demanding booby-wise for the last week or 2. I don't know if he needs more now in the way of solids or if he's just getting into bad habits. He feeds more often during the days and now wakes during the night twice again like he's decided he's a newborn again. His naps during the days aren't as long either. Anyway with about and hour's drive each way and arsenic hour back again I don't want to leave him with anyone. At least if I go tomorrow, DH can look after him and I don't mind it if Sam screams with him. He knows how to settle him pretty well too. Sometimes he just gets lazy and sits watching the telly ignoring the crying but I doubt he'll do that if I'm not here!
Wow, so (back to BB) I guess that would have explained how Casey would have been crying one minute and then happy the next. The poor thing was probably in pain when peeing but then happy again when it stopped... how sad. It's really sad that babies can have things wrong with them but they can't exactly say "mummy it hurts to wee", or "mummy I have a headache".
I'm going to visit a friend tomorrow and another friend will be there too. My old school friends sometimes get together at one of their places with they toddlers and babies. So they're doing it tomorrow and I'm invited this time. Although not many others are going... which is fine by me as one of them if the one who cancelled the BBQ Sat night and it erks me how she often pikes out at the last minute with some flaky excuse... so I'd rather not bother with her right now. I'm a b!tch but at least I can admit it!
Anyway I'm going to bake a lemon cake and take it with me. I'll either do that later on tonight or first thing in the morning.
Hey, do you think BB would be staying in with Casey? Sorry I keep on going back to them again. I'd just be so worried myself. Hope she's doing well.
:geek: OH BUGGER! I HAVEN'T GONE TO THE CHEMIST!!! Sam's asleep and DH is in the shower as he's gotten home on time today. Oopsy...
ohh soo much to catch up on.
BB:hugs: about Casey- c38 thanks for the info hope he is better soon the poor little thing. I actually read your post wrong and thought something worse so was relieved ( though sad for the other patients).
stg- glad Charli is getting better and :hugs: to you and all the others with sick bubs, I too will be a big wuss when Pip gets sick.
MOS- a few posts back now but glad I could be of use to you in getting out of babysitting on Thursday!! bugger about not going to the chemist.
about Thursday, though I am not sure if I am coming down anymore, one of my close friends' mum is really sick- cancer and apparently the care is only palliative now:gloomy: after months of not knowing what was wrong. She wants to catch up thursday and I want to let her have a break etc, her bub is only 3 weeks older than Pip. sorry about this, but I figure she needs something to either distract her or to look after her bub for a bit. I'll let you know.
well been busy here did some chrissy shopping today, DH thinks I am going overboard, but I don't think so!!! most of the stuff we would buy anyway so at least it is for xmas!
also gave Pip some farex yesterday, didn't take a lot but seemed to enjoy it OK.
take care all...
:hugs: to your friend oconky. We'll see you next time then. I'm still in though. Are you two still in, kotakai and butterflies & hurricanes? (or is the other way around?)
Oh poor BB, hope Casey gets better real soon.
All booked for the States. Just have to get our in-country flights now. We are going to be there May 29th to June 25th and have to split our time between friends in Atlanta and family in Detroit, so trying to figure that out now. The breakdown showed $117 for Nicklas, but over $1300 in taxes. Isn't that ridiculous!?
Speaking of ridiculous...Nicklas fell off the bloody bed this afternoon. I had to take my laptop upstairs to print our travel itinerary, so I put Nicklas on the spare bed vertically. He was FINE, rolling from side to side. Then I was looking at my computer screen and hear this awful THUD and I look and he's face first off the end of the bed, not the side! I have NO CLUE how he did it! He started screaming, but it didn't last more than 10 minutes. Poor kid. Scared the **** out of me, but we're ok now. Just can't figure out how he did it! He must have scooched to the end? I dunno, next time it will be the very middle of the bed, or the jolly jumper. Or the floor! Can't roll off the floor....
Hope BB and Casey are ok :( Poor kid, I've had several UTIs and they are NOT fun!
I keep on thinking of you guys when I put Sam on our bed. It takes him soooo much effort to roll from tummy to back once and he can only roll halfway the other direction, so from his back to his side. I think he just doesn't like his tummy so doesn't go any further! But part of me knows that one day he will surprise me. I should stop putting him dwn on our bed I know...
Babywez, congrats on the holiday too. Now you can start counting down the days! :smiliedance: I was going to say before it might be taxes. The travel agent told me it depends on the country but the US has higher taxes than most others.
I'm cursing Lambkin - I so want the "Confidence is Radiance" set by Hot Milk! :geek:
Hi all
First of all :fingerscrossed:that now they know whats wrong with Casey, he'll be on the improve really quickly, poor little tyke, and :hugs:to BB at this time too.
Well, Im absolutely exhausted at the moment. Liam has been feral all afternoon, whinging and screaming - not in pain, just whinging and overtired. Im overtired too and sooooo not in the mood for it. Tried a bit more of the pumpkin and sweetcorn with him, he really wasnt too impressed with it and OMG did it make a mess!! I struggled to get him down for a nap at around 5pm today, and 10 minutes later the phone rang and it was a telemarketer:hair:Needless to say Liam woke up and we had to begin again.
Ive p[ut him down for tonight though and had to laugh as I laid him in his cot, he let out this HUMUNGOUS belch! It rocked his whole body:laughing: That mustve been what the matter was as he dropped straight off to sleep.
OK all from me, Im going to have an early (peaceful?) night, hope you all have the same.
PS) Lovin' this Christmas smilie:noel:
fairly quiet tonight...hope that means people are getting some much needed sleep.
sydney guys, definitely missing out on thursday as I am not meeting my friend until at least 10.30.....sorry to pike,:fingerscrossed: for the next one!! it sucks in some ways as I too think of you guys as my friends just as much as my RL ones:laughing:, so :( to be missing it when we book in advance, however I know my friend could do with the distraction, spoke to her tonight she is going OK
ems- meant to say that Khirra is amazing with her getting up to crawl....gosh.
babywez- glad Nicklas is OK....must have been scary. I have to remember not to put Pip down on our bed anymore!
well forgot to mention in my post before but it is my weigh-in day today....900gm less so total 1.6kg in 2 weeks very happy...just got to keep it up...
night all..
PS I too love the :snow: smilies

C38 - thanks for the update on BB. How awful for poor Casey, the poor little darling  Hope you're doing okay BB... can't even imagine how awful in must be to have your little man in hospital :hugs:Glad Gab had a good night for you!
Kotakai - How did the doctors go this morning? Was your BP a bit low? Hope you start feeling better hun... I still am in awe of how you're doing it - superwoman!
MOS - sorry to hear about the cousin. Surely things can only get better for your poor family!
Stg - Glad to hear Charli's feeling a bit brighter, poor chicken! Hope you're feeling a bit better too hun - it can be so draining some days, hey? Physically and emotionally. Sounds like she's going to be mobile soon too!
C&L'sMummy - Chaise sounds like she's being a champion 'big girl'! Yay for her! And great advice about getting down to the bubbas level - will be doing that one!
Supermum - hope you're feeling better hun. Nothing worse than feeling blegh. Particularly with kids who aren't going to let you rest!
K8y - I started to watch that, but DD starting cracking it, so that was that. Poor thing though, as if a million parents don't do the same thing every day.
Kyles - wow, those poor workers! Got in in the nick of time! :hugs:for the exhausting afternoon - hopefully that burp was what he needed!
Jess - Oh my gosh, glad you're all okay after the accident - sounds like it was pretty hairy. lol about your nose though :p nothing worse than doing something like that, you just want the ground to swallow you up, haha. And sounds like Mia's not far from crawling either, clever little miss!
OConky - Chrissy has been my excuse for getting what I want for Khirra, that DP probably wouldn't have let me buy otherwise ;) Congrats on the weight loss!
Babywez - Bugger about the cost of the flight. They know how to rake in the extra dollars, don't they? And poor Nicklas!! Kizza was right in the middle of a queen sized bed, with pillows around her, so don't underestimate him!
awesome on the weight loss oconky. I have been so slack
babywez glad nicklas is okay. Happens so easy. I'm with you MOS in knowing that it could happen anytime now and have to stop leaving her on the bed to duck to the loo or get a drink etc.
c38 thanks for letting us know about BB and Casey. Poor little tyke, what a relief to know now what is wrong and to be able to start treating it asap.
Did anyone watch Domestic Blitz? so sad, that poor poor boy.
I have a few raised moles on my back and I had them removed today for 'cosmetic' reasons. 9 in total, so I got needled 9 times and it hurts! they then 'shave' them off. I had 2 on my tummy that I had done when I had my mole cut out 2 weeks ago and they healed lovely so I had these done today when I got my stitches out. Now I've got gauze and tape over my back everywhere, looks ridiculous lol. Now I've got to try and have a shower
We got Summer's mozzie net up today. Took some pics (with her posing in her cot of course) so will add them to facebook in a minute. Still got to have a shower yet as for 2 hours have been wet (Summer got very splashy in her bath tonight) and chucked on.
Tomorrow am having lunch with some friends I used to work with so am looking forward to that.

Not much on our end today, just went to visit a mate.
DP and my stepdad are going to build some gates for the doors around here - there's two large sliding door in the living area that goes straight out onto the deck, and no screen doors, so we have to do something so DD can't get out there once she gets moving. Plus the house is right next to the dam... not really a baby-friendly house. So hopefully we can move out before she gets too into things.
Anyways, going to head to bed. Think khirra's teeth are on the move again tonight...
Anyways, going to head to bed. Think khirra's teeth are on the move again tonight...
I think Nick's are bothering him, too. Or he has a headache from falling off the bed, but that was over 6 hours ago, so surely it didn't take that long to get it? Tried panadol, Brauer's Calm...music, nothing worked. He'd sleep for 5 minutes and wake up screaming. He's finally in bed with me and asleep, I'm trying to make sure he's actually out this time before I close this thing and try to sleep myself. He's also soaked through TWO shirts with all his drool today. It HAS to be teeth, no baby drools this much otherwise!
 hoi everyone
So sorry to hear about the sick bubbas, what an awful feeling. :fingerscrossed: for a speedy recovery. It is so much easier when a toddler is sick as they are able totell you what the problem is, or able to verbalise enough that you can at least guess. And of course to the sick mums I hope you are feeling better, often when we are sick there is no one to care for us! I had tonsilitis last week, the worst I have ever had, and felt like I was going to die lol. Reminded me of morning sickness and seriously dented my resolve to have another child...:o
Thanks for the tip about the hot milk lingerie. I have ordered age of allure in 12f,am hoping that it fits me! I have also ordered the french knickers, they look pretty cute. I really only have 1 maternity bra that I am generally happy with (triumph flourish), my other 2 make my boobs look quite saggy...
I have had a couple of drinks tonight - I needed it! Very early Sunday morning my DP fell into a fire. He drove home from the campsite (about 90 mins drive) and I took him to local emergency, he was transferred to the city hosp and today had skin grafts on his palms. He also has 2nd deg burns all over his forearms, upper thighs, torso and left toes. He is a bit of a mess. I saw him after his surgery today and his hands are completely bandaged, he cant do anything and is in quite a bit of pain. I couldnt stay long as had both DDs with me. This all happened the one weekend that my ILs were away so couldnt leave DD1 with them to see DP. Theya re back tonight so I will leave DD1 with them tomorrow so I can see DP, we havent even really had a chance to speak about what happened, every time I have seen him I am so worried about DD1 (she is 2 and a bit) jumping on him, or wandering off around the hospital that we havent been able to sit and talk. He is going to be off work for quite some time. I didnt look too closely at his hands when I took him to hosp (they looked awful from what i saw tho) but they were just one giant blister. they looked so painful.
So things are very crazy here, DD1 has been a bit fragile, keeps asking about daddy and whether he's still in the big bed (she says 'daddy still in hopstbul' - so cute) and feeling better. Also my mum is coming to adelaide tomorrow for a breast reconstruction (in hosp for a week, a pretty significant operation), the hosp she is going to is the other side of town, well over an hours drive, and its looking like I will just be driving from one hosp to another with 2 little girls in tow! Ahhhh deep breath, should be in bed as need to get up early and get DD1 and I to Hi5 concert tomorrow morning, should be fun tho. But thru all this hannah has been an angel, just happy to be lugged around in the car and stroller, what a champ she is.
Hope you girls in brissie are still in one piece, my sis has a bit of damage to her place.

Morning everyone!
I havent been around for the past week as my Uncle passed away. We had to fly down to Geelong for the funeral etc. Although the circumstances were not good, it was lovely to see all of my extended family, and lovely to be able to spend some time with them all. It was also the first time that they have seen Austin, so that was a welcome distraction i think. He was perfect on the plane on the way there - but screamed on the way back....oh well!
Dondons - Sorry to hear about your DP! We will be thinking of you. Remember to look after yourself too - sounds like you will have a busy time rushing back and forth. :fingerscrossed: for a speedy recovery!
:hugs: to all the sick bubs and double:hugs::hugs: to their mums! Esp BB - Must be scary to be in hosp.
Gotta go - Austin is calling - he has been waking himself up the past couple of mornings by rolling on his tummy in his sleep, and then when he wakes he screams the place down in fright!

Morning everyone, i am so sorry to hear all the bad news that is going around. BB i hope Casey gets better quickly and Dondons how awful for your DP. I can't believe he drove afterwards that must have hurt.
K8y- Wow Summer is so long! and cute too i love how her room is set up. I saw the end of domestic blitz but i am not sure what happened to the boy? i read that he almost drowned so he didn't die?
MOS- how awful for your MIL, and about their cousin, your family has had a fair amount of bad luck recently i hope this is it for them. And thanks for the advice on moving with the IL's we have decided to do it and have our sit down and talk about boundaries session on the 30th after DP's exams so i am going to be strong and say what i feel. I think it won't be soo bad but then maybe i am kidding myself!!
Jess- i am sorry but i would have laughed too if i had of seen you run into the door!! hope it feels better today.
ems- wow khirra is strong! i was amazed at the video she will be crawling in no time.
C&L'smummy- Glad Chaise is doing so well for you!
Babywez- How exciting booking your trip!! Quinn and i leave on the 3rd of march so only 31/2 months to go!! i can't wait.
Well i just got back from a training session kinda netball preseason that some of us are doing early and i :barf:that is how unfit i am!! it was awful but i think i will feel good in a couple of days once the muscle aches are gone. Q was perfect slept form 6:30 until 5 am so i just fed her then expressed at 5:30 and left at ten to 6 so it worked out wonderfully! :fingerscrossed: next week is the same!
Oh and thanks Lambkin on the tip i bought a set not sure what it was called bit not the age of allure the other hot milk one! can't wait til it comes told DP i was getting something i needed and that he would appreciate too and as its his birthday in 3 weeks i said it could be part of his present!
oh and i also learnt my lesson with babies rolling off beds but i luckily had a pillow on the floor which she landed on perfectly so it was a lesson without any harm thankfully but i won't forget her cry as she fell scared me so bad
Whoa, Bella, I hope your DP is OK. He can't work for a while? Did this happen at work? Is there some kind of help he will get because of that or are you guys going to be in real trouble? I hope he gets better real soon either way. It'll be no fun running between hospitals. :hugs:
MBQ, maybe we should start an online support group for those who live with their IL'S! It might be an idea to keep a list handy of things you think of during the day and jot them down as you're sure to forget things when it comes to sitting down and talking to them.
Well my (normally nice) SIL is here and has woken me up early in a frazzle thinking I had used her mince and not replaced it. Today is her cooking day (I've done it for the last 3 days in a row and they all wanted to take turns), so she's here now preparing her spaghetti sauce. She bought mince the other day and I said I'd use hers then buy her more. I needed 2 packs so I just froze hers and set an alarm for this morning to take it out and de-frost for tonight. I didn't know she was preparing it early this morning. Anyway she's stomping around the house in her heels'.
I'm going to feed Sam and get the rock outta here. I told DH last ngiht I miss my walking around the local shops so I'll go and do that until I'm supposed to be at my friend's place. I told her I'd bring lemon cake but we ate half of it last night so I've cut the rest up and put it on a plate for today. Is that too tight? I'm going to a friend's place but there's only 2 of us and she asked me to bring something so I figure 3 of us aren't going to eat a whole lemon cake! Plus it's DH's fav so I can't not send him to work with some, etc...
dondons you busy girl! Your poor DP, thats dreadful. Hope the blisters heal soon, must be sooo painful :(
jessiika I sometimes wish I'd gone on a pink frenzy lol. Anyway I bought the white net (because it matches) but also because you can dye them if yours is the cotton type one that mine is. I thought that way when she is older and wants to pick her own colours (god help me!) then we can dye the net for her if she wants. Bleach may get it back to white too if you want to change it later on. I also got a single bed size so she can grow into it as I know when I was young I would have felt like a real princess sitting in my bed with my netting surrounding me lol such a girls thing.
Honeymoonbub Welcome back!
Sorry about your Uncle :hugs: but glad you had a safe trip. Hope you didn't have to come back to any devastation from the storms? We faired fine here, just some heavy rain.
mybabyQ the boy slipped through the fencing (apparently something was broken in one and they didn't know) and he almost drowned. Mum got to him in time but now he is disabled and in a wheelchair. Such a shame to happen to such a beautiful sweet boy  I shouldn't watch all this stuff - too upsetting :crying:
BB hope to hear from you soon and that Casey is doing great like the little trooper he is.
MOS gosh must be tough juggling food now. I agree, just get out of there and go for walk around shops.
If your lemon cake is that great, I would be p!ssed off if you only turned up with half a one :p
Gotta go, Summer asleep and am suppose to be blowdrying my hair as it's dripping wet
Thank you ladies for all your lovely comments on Summers room. It's such a cheery room, I do love it.
:hugs:DONDONS hope dh heals soon...sounds awful
:goodvibes::goodvibes::goodvibes:to Lambkins who will be under the knife as I type...well today sometime.
Oh Dondons, hope oth you DH and mum make a speedy recovery, you poor thing.

Oh Dondons, your poor DH! The poor bugger must be in so much pain - skin grafts! Hope he recovers quickly. Hope your mother's op goes well - my friend had a breast reduction when we were about 18 (they were GG and she's not a big girl) and it was quite a big recovery.
Babywes - all that drool definately sounds like toothy pegs... DD's went into overload before hers started showing. Oh on that note, they haven't moved up anymore, but I asked my bestie how long it took her little man's to come through - and they pushed up from nothing to two half teeth in about 48 hours - so I guess it all just depends on the kid.
Honeymoon - sorry to hear about your uncle hun :hugs: Hope your family are doing okay.
MybabyQ - you poor thing! I'd probably spew too if I had to do anything too physical! My legs were jelly just from having to squat in the water for half an hour at DD's swimming lessons last week :o
MOS - It's not stingy taking a few pieces - just tell her she's lucky she got any at all - it's that good you had to fend people off to just to save those bits for her ;) I took some camembert and biccies to my friends yesterday, and I swear she got about 3 bits of cheese out of the whole thing :o
Thanks girls. I found some lamingtons in the fride so I filled the plate up with those. Just feeding before I go.
The SIL this morning left me instructions on how to finish her dinner. Gggrrrr! :hair: So I'm going to do the walk around the shops after lunch so I won't be here to do it. She said she will if I can't and I just want a day off! Must go to chemist....
Your poor DP Dondons!! That is so scary! I can't believe he drove himself all that way after falling in!? Was there no one else there? Hope it all heals quickly and as painlessly as possible!
I took half a chocolate cake to our friend's place the other night just in case my pavlova wasn't any good. She said, "Where's the other half!?" I said, "At home in our fridge!" haha. I just had hte last piece of it actually...DH should have taken it to work with him. You snooze you lose!
My dad is 60 today and has invited us over for a BBQ. The weather is awful which means we'll be cooped up inside their unit with my sister that I don't talk to. not sure if her fiance (the reason we don't talk) will be there or not. Might be able to get out of it tho, b/c dad and his mrs have been sick, so can always say we don't want to get Nick sick and I'll just drop his pressies off at a later date. He told her all he wanted for his birthday was for us to be talking again. I told him not to hld his breath. DH has a brother he doesn't talk to, either. Actually that brother has distanced himself from the whole family. What is with families these days??
