Any Young Mums Playgroups?

Hi Ladies, I am fairly new to Bub Hub. I am 26 and have a 2 year old boy and am due to have a baby girl in 9 weeks. I was wondering if anyone knows of any Playgroups with fairly young mums SOR. i have been to one where the Mums were alot older and I did not really relate to them.

ring the playgroup association,number in white pages.i know of one playgroup sor for young mums and it costs 2 dollars per time,it's also advertised in the parents paper.

I'm Roxy (28) I have 3 children and we live SOR in Maddington. I had my first bub when I was 20 and I was the youngest mum at playgroup for about 4 years - so I really know how you feel. I felt the odd one out for quite a while especially at the first playgroup I went to where I was the youngest by 10 years.

I did a quick search for Playgroups near you and these two came up

I'd advise ringing the playgroup association to get the contact numbers for them. Then ring each playgroup and say you are specifically looking for a playgroup session with some mums around your age (tell them your age) and the playgroup's contact person will be able to tell you if they have any members of your age group and which session is best to attend. (Most playgroups run more than one session and there is a different group of mums at each session so ages can vary alot).

If you get really stuck you are always welcome at Our Playgroup (The Huntingdale Cherubs Playgroup). Although we are in Thornlie so it's a bit of a drive ;).
We have alot of Younger mums on a Tuesday and a good mix on Mondays and Wednesdays. (Our youngest is 18 and Oldest 42). I help organise the Tuesday session and I'm one of the oldest out of the 12+ mums that come every week.

Hi Kylie,

I am also SOR in Bateman. From the previous post I am guessing you live in Applecross/Adross area, which isn't too far from me.

I am 25 with 2 boys aged 3 and 1. I go to two playgroups in the area which are great but not strictly young mum ones. Finally as I get a bit older I feel less out of place at things like playgroups. Let me know if you want any details on the playgroups I attend.

Hi everyone. Thanks for yor replies. I have tried the playgroup at Heathcote and did not relate to those mums as they were a lot older.

Sarah, Are you able to give me any details on the playgroups near you in Bateman?

If I have no luck I will contact you Roxy for details on your Playgroup I dont mind travelling there as my mum lives in Canning Vale anyway.

Just wanted to suggest, maybe starting a little playgroup, type of thing ourselves, i too, am a young mum at 23, not that my sisters think im young, but i live in morely and find it hard aswell to find them. Also can someone please tell me where i can find the parents paper, or how to get a hold of it, thanks!

Well you can find the Parents Paper outside any coles or woolworths shop and lots of other places! I will get one for you!!
