I've been waiting two months since my last d&c to have some follow up tests. They thought they saw an AV Malformation when they did an ultrasound when I had retained products in March. This is basically an area of increased vascularity in the uterus and an artery and a vein meet up. It can cause serious bleeding at delivery and therefore possible need for a hysterectomy following childbirth. So, they wanted me to come back in two months to check whether it was just some inflammation from the retained products, or if I really had this malformation.
I've been a bit stressed for the last couple of months, just imagining that with my luck they would say something like "yes, malformation is there, you can get pregnant, but it will be high risk and dangerous etc".
But today, I went for the tests and everything looked (to quote the ultrasonographer) "boringly normal". The consultant then checked everything and gave me a clean bill of health and sent me home with an instruction to TTC to my hearts content.
It was so nice to get some GOOD news from the hospital for a change. I was so used to phoning my DH in tears from the hospital saying "please cancel work for the rest of the day and come here, we've had bad news". I was honestly expecting bad news again today because I have become so used to it.
But, it was good news. The first reason to be optimistic for a long time.
Time to do a happy dance. :smiliedance: :smiliedance:
