View Full Version : Move over stubby holder, make way for the BUBBY HOLDER

To cut a long story short I have been having SOOOO many problems with James' feeding and sleeping - feeding no more than 100ml per feed and last night a measly 30ml per feed. He has been screaming all day and I have been at my complete wits end trying to figure out the problem. I even wasted over $50 on new formula and teats yesterday only for it all to be rejected.

So I was feeding him today and as usual he started crying after about 80ml, then I had a :idea: - what if the milk is getting cold too quickly and he doesnt like it? So I zapped it for 5 seconds and he took the lot, which made me think....how can I keep this bottle warm?

I have now fashioned 'The Bubby Holder' - about 10 layers of alfoil with a layer of face washer in between, all wrapped together with packing tape!!!

Just fed him and VOILA!!! He drank his whole bottle happily with not a drop to spare!!

Maybe I should market the Bubby Holder!!! :smiliedance:

LOL!! Glad you worked out what was wrong!!

I actually have some bottle holders!! I got them from a cheap shop for $2!! Where all the baby stuff is. A little easier to use I think :rolleyes: :D

Would a stubby holder do the same thing? Or is that only for keeping things cool?

OH NO! you mean my idea has been thought of already??!! :gloomy:

I have never seen anything that is snug around a bottle for feeding, although I havent really looked. I dont know if stubby holders are just to keep things cool.

A stubby holder would work fine!! Would it be too wide though? I guess it depends if it's a wide neck bottle or not :rolleyes: ?

A stubby holder would work to keep somthing warm or cool.

We have wide-neck bottles though, and they wouldn't fit - so brilliant idea! Well done, I'm glad you solved your problem!

Wouldnt it be funny if someone saw me feeding James out of a Coopers stubby holder!!! The looks on peoples faces would be priceless! If only they made pretty ones!

yeh but come on, surely my alfoil and brown packing tape monstrosity looks better than these commercially produced things??!! :rolleyes:

For sure - your creation is probably better on the pocket anyway! Idea - do the foil/tape then put the stubby holder on! Then go shopping, and feed him near some old grannies - wait for the reactions! Hilarious. Hopefully no one from child services walking by.....

Great idea Carls! (glad you found a solution to your worries!)

I have seen Bottle Holder's that look very similar to the old Stubby holder (made out of the same material etc.) sold at our local Chemist in the babies section - kind of like a gift set and the holder has a cow hide pattern (black & white), so you may have missed your mark - bummer!

i have the avent bottles which fit a stubbie cooler perfectly and i use them all the time!!! even in public! the old ppl look at me weird but i mostly just get comments of 'oh wow thats a good idea' and such.... Works good for me!!

I got pulled over for a breathalyser with the stubbie cooler in the front drink holder.

From the get-go the policeman said to me "this doesn't look good you realise." I had to pull the babies milk out of the stubbie holder to show him what it was!! :laughing:

Found they don't keep it warm for long so hopefully your invention works better !!
