who makes their own?
What do you use?
:D
( Dan says I'm turning into a hippie!! )
LOL - I often state clearly that I am NOT a hippy !!! :D
I have wipes just made out of flannel (edged on the overlocker...) - on a good day - the wipes match our nappy  they are made out of scraps...
some people use more spiffy stuff though.,.. softer more expensive stuff :) (but I'm a tight - arsed hippy  )

he he he....
Ok so by flannel... what is that? Is it flanelette? ( I bet that is a really dumb question!! :o )
What do you use to moisten them with? Just water or something else?

Yep Flanelette!;)
I keep a bottle of demineralised water at the change table (ironing water) it does not go off as quickly as normal water!
You can buy a 2L bottle fo about $1buck!

Oh cool!!
I have heard that some people add essential oils or baby wash?
And what do you do with it? Does it go in a spray bottle or something?
Full of questions... you lot will be sick of me!!
some people use chamomile in the water... or other stuff I guess??
we just use water.. (if Jack is really grotty we use an actual wipe  - we actually use the huggies ones when out... - then wash the chemicals off with the water :) )

As Veve said you can put Chammomile in the water etc. Essential oils are good too but make sure you get the right dilution for them as some will burn bub!;)
A spray bottle works really well! Or a pump bottle!;) We use the pump type of bottle!

Oh I forgot to say that by adding things like chammomile etc to the water it will go off quicker ;)

We use flannelette with water for wet nappies and tissues with sorbolene cream (or a coles wipe) for pooey ones. :)

I use facewashers for either type of nappy lol.
Sometimes if bubs is lucky i do the chamomile thing but its usually just plain water here.
Im a mean mama ;)
I use cheap facewashers (about $1 each). I like the terry loops to them because they make messy clean ups much easier (they seem to 'catch' better) and make sure you get the thin ones. I thought I'd be fancy and get some nice thick ones but they are more difficult to use.
To wet it - these days I use just warm tap water and a little squirt of Vegesorb to help clean the teething poos off. In the begining I would make up a chammomile tea solution with a little bit of vegesorb or almond oil (to lubricate and moisturise) and sometimes a drop of lavander essential oil (skin soothing properties). Because we were doing so many nappies changes per day, I'd stick all the wipes into a small ice cream container and tip the tea solution over it to soak. This would last a day without spoiling. I had tried the spray bottle thingy but it was just too fiddly. We only get one poo per day now so I leave a stack of dry wipes in the bathroom and only wet when needed.
When going out, I would place a wet wipe in a glad zip lock bag so that it was ready to use whenever. Again, because I don't expect a poo when going out these days, I just take a dry wipe and wet with a water bottle if needed. Also, if I was using disposables (away from home and no washing facilities), I would cut up chux cloths in half and use them because DS gets red whenever we have tried commercial wipes. So that's just another idea.
...I use wipes from the store, but for my baby shower a friend gave me a box of home made wipes with the recipe. They were made from Veve paper towel...soaked in Olive Oil and boiling water. They smelt beautiful, and worked really well. If anyone wants the recipe to make them feel free to p.m. me.:D

I made some from Double Muslin. You get it at spotlight. It's thick enough to use without getting your fingers 'gooey' but also thin enough to wipe between the folds. And it's not too expensive either.:)
