Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any advice for which oils to avoid when TTC??

I currently use Jurlique facial and body products, most of which contains lavender. In particular, essential oil of lavender is used to soak the face (dilluted in water).

I remember reading something about which oils to avoid, but can't find anything currently.

Thanks

Lavendar is safe to use in pregnancy, so I presume it is ok when ttc as well.

Follow these links. They mention oils you should avoid and oils you may be able to use:

I run a (very) small business making natural skin care products and deal with a large range of essential oils on a daily basis. Last year I found out I was pregnant (surprise!) at about 5 weeks and I started to get really worried about all the exposure I had had. I took precautions from that point on and ALWAYS wore gloves when making soap or products and I made sure not to handle the really potent ones at all. (Dh to the rescue). I also ensured good ventilation and regular fresh air breaks. I eliminated all oils from my own personal products just because I felt I was exposing myself enough. There are a few lists available of what to avoid in pregnancy and most are available on the net. Search for essential oils in pregnancy or similar titles. But, make sure you ust the Australian sites as some of the US ones are pretty blase about it. The Aus ones will be relevant to the essential oils available in our country. if you still have concerns, PM me and I can send you some more detailed info.
Oh, and my bub turned out fine-no effects from oils at all!:)

I have a bottle of 100% pure essential oils here and it says to always dilute essential oils in carrier oil (for massaging etc). Its directions state 2-4 drops (they are big drops) in 50ml of carrier oil for massage.
