Hi, I'm just wondering if people have use Ashford and what their experience was? I am also wondering if anyone has seen Dr Linda McKendrick and what she is like? Any info would be useful. This is my first bub and they ask who I want for an Ob. How would I know???? This is such an exciting time but so much to learn, know about and checkout!
Thanks

Hi My name is Alisha and i gave birth to my little angel 4 and half month ago. I too live in Adelaide and was faced with the same questions and decisions not knowing who was who.
My partner and i decided to firstly go through the Womans and Childrens hospital. Fistly because if you go into labour pre term (4 weeks or more before due date) any other hospital will turn you away and send you to the wch anyway and also because if there are any complications you and your baby get sent there anyway. The wch is excellent. they are the leading womans and childrens hospital in the country.
We had a wonderful experience there.
Now you can either get your own personal ob or you can go through the public system and get seen each week by the same midwife and get the same care. I can tell you that i had the most wonderful midwife and my birthing experience was so much better because of her. We though about going through a private ob, but at the end of the day if he/she was delivering someone elses baby or was away, you would get some one else that you may not even know but you'd still recieve the bill.
You have to do what is right for you and your family. you'll make the right choice no matter which way you choose to go..
Good luck

Hello.
I have just found out I am pregnant for the first time and have been booked in by my GP to see Dr Linda McKendrick. Have you been happy with her and would you recommend her to other first time mums?
Thanks.
