I was only 28 weeks and i had all the signs showing that i was in labour so i was transferred down to the RBWH and was taken to one of the biirthing suites. we went around the cornr and all i can remember was alot of birthing suites, we only hav two on warwick and the prep room. we stopped in and they said that they are all full but one has just been cleared so in i went. they told me to stay on the trolley. BUGGER OFF, i need to wee. i went into the room and i did my business. gee they have pools in there. i wanna give birth in here. that was long lived as a dream. i got back on the bed and was hooked up to the CTG for over four hours to see what was happening. yep contractions but irregular. so at 2 in the morning i was taken into a ward. with only bed in there. score. the next morning i woke with more contractions and stil irrgular. then i had to go get a ultrasound done to see what was going on and i was effacing. i hadn't dilated yet but i was close. 12mm was how thick the cervix was. usually 32mm. **** i thought. i kept trying too keep my legs closed and then that night, i lady comes in and says 'samara jane lundon' yes that's me what's happening? i asked ' blood test darling' 'show me your arm' i didn't even know why she was doing it! i asked but she completely snobbed me. then a couple of days later i had the glucose test done and that meant even more needles. they came back irregular so the next day, i had only just woken up, and the midy walked in. she told me i need to get the tests done tomorrow because i had to fast for it. i told her i had something to eat last night and that was the last time i ate anything so i had them done that day. for three hours i had to have a glucose test done. drink the drink, wait an hour then have the test. that went on for three hours. next thing you know i'm just waiting to have the needle put in and i feel al queezy. i hate neeedles. so they did even more tests. only to show that my glucose levels were on the borderline and i was low in iron and vitamin c. it was **** but thats cool. i went for my ultrasound a week later and surprisingly my cervix thickened back up.
even though the doc said it can't thicken up and wanted me to stay down there til 40 weeks. i came back home 10 days later and had to make regular trips to towoomba until 36 weeks. on my last trip to toowoomba, that morning i had a show but didn't mean a thing to the doc so i hung it out. was great. i didn't listen to a word the doc said. both of the docs said to take things easy, no strenuous work or anything like it. so here i am 35 weeks pregnant and i thought the car looked dirty so i got up and cleaned it and then got on top of the bonnet. the next door neighbour just starred. i still hadn't popped by 38 weeks. or 39. even though i was told by three peoples that i would be lucky to make it to 37 weeks. Passed that one easy.
my point is to listen to your body and make your own decisions. sometimes we women need help but we don't need decisions made for us.
WOMEN CAN DO ANYTHING IF THEY PUT THEIR MIND TO IT.:ecomcity:
