Time Capsule!!!!

For my DD first birthday, i'm planning on doing a time capsule where every one puts in something and DD will get to open it on her 21st birthday.

I want to write a letter to her, but not exactly sure about what to write about. Has anyone got any ideas? Also does anyone have any suggestions about what to put in it. So far i have come up with photos, magazines, Advertiser.

I brought a time capsule for my DD before she was born and have been putting bits and peices in it since.

In it come a little note book and it has a section where you right down the price you pay for things... like.. milk, bread, the paper, petrol, Just basic every day things that by the time she is 21 will most probably be a lot more expensive.

It also had a part where you can right down todays most popular, actor, actress, car, song ect.

Maybe you could do up something like that yourself.

Another idea i had not long after she was born that i havent done yet is to buy some blank cards and give it to her great grandparents or maybe her grand parents if they are quite old and get them to write her a 21st birthday card as you never know whats going to happen and they may not be around to give it to her in person. Maybe take a photo of her with them and put it in the cards also. :D

i think its a great idea.

obviously in your letter you would tell her how beautiful she is and how much she is loved etc, but what about writing about your typical day with her... if she is sleeping through the night, what her favourite toys or foods are... etc. etc. these will be interesting to read.

You could also include some baby clothes/shoes she has grown out of or a particular toy and also include a photo of her with that toy.

What about a lock of hair...

Just sit down with a pen and paper and write exactly how she makes you feel and everything you have shared and your most precious moments with her and the things that make you laugh and smile and even get mad at....whatever comes to you write it down...

Another thing to include in the time capsual...a mixed CD with songs of whats popular this year...or the year she was born (you know how you get compliations?)

Reciepts for nappys/formula and wipes/baby food etc so she compare prices. Maybe Tape the local news or international news on her actual bday so she can see what happened in the world when she turned one.

Her favourite outfit....Photos, maybe even buy her a locket and put a photo of you and her in it...that would make a beautiful 21st present...

You could write a poem? - maybe even get the grandperants to put something special as mentioned before, whether it be a note, card, letter or even something special that they would like her to have (that they can part with now)

Cut out pictures of magazines to show the fashions of the time....or a photo of you and her dad in your favourite clothes - its sure to get her laughing when she is 21!

I was thinking how about the dress she wears on her 1st birthday, that will be kind of cool to have later on.
