Just thought I would come and introduce myself...

:wave: I'm Bec! I am 26, married to DH for 1.5yrs and I am currently pregnant with our first - 26wks so far and due on the 11th Feb 09. I am living in Holt - and working in Fyshwick (I promise I dont work in 'that' industry though!)

I have heaps of 'mummy' friends, but sadly they all still live in NZ (DH and I moved here 3.5 years ago) SO... I would love to meet some people in Canberra with kids, or who are preggy too!

I have had a quick lurk around this board and it seems like you are all lovely and I am hoping you would like a new face around the place!

I am Candice and i have DD Alice 2yrs old and DS Kobi almost 5 months old.
we live in Spence on the north side (migrated north from south side about a month ago.)

congrats on the pregnancy, do you know what you are having?

as Kieren was saying we have regular meets where the kids can have a play and the mum get some adult company and conversations.
so you are more than welcome to join us at one of our meets, we are all really nice and don't bite.:laughing:

I am so glad I found this place... I have another board I belong to, but it is NZ based so not like I can meet up with them very often, so I am pleased to have found something closer to home!

Rach I am giving birth at Calvary... I just hope they are good there!

Candice (we started off in Fadden when we moved over, but have been on the north for about 3 years now!) Anyway.. yes, we know what we are having and it is a healthy little boy! I cant wait to meet him - but for now I will just settle for his scan pics on my fridge!

I am Jenna and live in Nicholls with my dh and our little girl Maddison. She is almost 4 months old and I gave birth to her at Calvary, they were very good and I had a pleasant experience there. Which midwife have you been seeing so far?

As the others said, come along to a meet and get to know some of us and our little ones. One has arrived in the last couple of days, another due very very soon and a few more on the way.

We moved over from England 2 years ago and down to Canberra only 8 months ago, everyone has been great and I am sure you will make some friends here also. PM me if you ever need to regarding Calvary and hope to meet you soon.

Oooohhhhh YAY Im not the only pregnant one around here then! Glad to hear all the good stories about Calvary... Jenna I have been seeing Kathy who I am really happy with so far!

How often do you guys normally have meet ups? I am guessing you probably do them during the week with most of you having little ones? Hopefully I can make it to one soon :yes:

Yes we do weekday meets.. that way it gives the girls with partners weekends to spend with them and so the partners can spend time with the kids.

would love to meet up sometime, always happy t o go for coffee if your ever over this side of town and as the others said we always have meets and most of the time it is weekday meets but sometimes we try weekends.. they dont always work though..

im Ciehann and i have a 4 1/2 month old little angel Madeline. i live in Bruce with my Husband and we only moved here a year ago. Maddie was born at calvery. i had no real issue except for on midwife who was a b*tch but she was there for only the first little bit of the labour. the one who was there for the rest was wonderful!

I hope to meet everyone towards the end of the month, I have just had surgery (got out of hospital yesterday) and can't drive for a few weeks so I am house bound for a while yet.
