hey all

so ive been going to the doctor surgry in aitkenvale i think?? its along ross river rd the the family link i think its called, not sure of it tho because all the docs are not very easy to understand and they don't understand me very well.

can you please suggest a doctors place that is good with kids preferable with a female as i am in desperate need of a papsmare and don't feel comftable doing it with a male doc and also one that does bulk billing?

im living in garbutt atm so anything close by would be good

thanks in advanced!!!:)

Hi I like Dr Flory Ecube and Dr Adiele Heyer at the The "Doctors" in the mall. They bulk bill Health care holders, and for others it no more than $25. You can make a appointment

Healthlink at cranbrook (on ross river road) bulkbill. i only trust Dr Garcia there. It can be hard to get in to see him sometimes. His wife also works there i think she is Dr Zoe... something. She seems very nice from what i have seen of her in the waiting room.

The only other doctors we go to are Dr Keyes and Hickey cnr Mill dr and Fulham rd, but they do not bulk bill, its $60 upfront then get 32ish back from medicare. they have a nice young lady doctor there I can't remember her name tho.

Unfortunately most of the medical centres that bulk bill are full of overseas dr's we only go there when desperate, be careful at "The Doctors" in the city as one dr prescribed something for my DD that she shouldnt have before 2yrsold and she was only 3-4mths at the time luckily the chemist told me she didnt want to give it to me so after that I refuse to go back Id rather pay then give my child something they shouldnt have... although Ive seen Dr Flory McEube and she was really good but she is pregnant so not sure how long she will work for and not sure if you can pick your own dr there or not? Ive been the health link too which i think is the one you go to and found them not too bad but only been once...but with the scare I had recently with my DD being quite sick Ill prob pay for the afterhours GP if desperate....

I go to Annandale Medical Centre and they dont bulk bill but they are excellent the dr's are fab and i went there through my preg for antenatal care the female dr's are really good!!! Although Im prob biased as its owned by family but i know they are choosy about picking really good dr's!

Good luck with it all....:)

Hey!!! I would totally reccomend Health & Wellbeing, in North Ward... They have a few female doctors (Michelle White I would personally reccomened) and I find them absolutely amazing, especially how they deal with children... They bulk bill all children under 16, but you would have to pay for yourself to be seen, but well worth it if you ask me, and regardless you can get half back on Medicare... Hope this helps, good luck, Kat...

I would recommend "Twin Cities Doctors" which is on Thuringowa Drive in Kirwan.

It's not that close to Garbutt but sometimes you have to travel to see a good doctor.

They bulk bill everyone and I've never had a problem with them. Dr Shukla and Dr Bangoy treat my son (depending who is available) and I see the female there. I can't remember her name since it's been a long time since I've seen her.

They are foreign doctors but they are fantastic and speak very clear english. They talk to my son more than they talk to me and he's very comfortable with them.

We've never been given medication that wasn't necessary unlike most of the bulk billers I've been to that just hand out prescriptions like jellybeans.

I have been there... its pretty good to go there just for a pap smear.

They are called Townsville Family Planning or something close to that.

The waiting room is quite large and jam packed with toys so it would be alright to take the kids there

I have been going to Family Planning since I got my period 14 years ago!

They have always been very good.

They have moved out to Castlemaine St in Kirwan now. There number is 4723 8184.

You just pay a $10 service fee. Well worth it to keep such a good service going I think.

Good luck!
