Hi everyone just wanted to hear your thoughts, as Iam new to all of this. Iam inmy 5th week so its early days but have noticed my (.)(.)s changing and of course they are quite sore. I read in several mags that you shouldnt wear underwire bras during pregnancy, all my bras are wire should I go and just get 1 or two that dont have any?

Hi there...congrats on your pregnancy! Apparently wired bras can interfere with the development of your milk ducts (or so 'they' say!).

I found that I had to give up my underwire bras really early on in this pg, my bbs were just too sore! I just got a couple of basic, soft cup bras - no point spending a bomb because you will probably have to change sizes a few times during the pg - I've just gone up a size again last week.

Hey & welcome to bubhub
I gave up the underwire bras too! Mainly because they made my boobs sore i didnt know that you werent actually allowed to not wear them.

When I was 10 weeks pregnant I went and invested in 3 maternity bras, because my bbs had become bigger, and were very sore . These three bras saw me through my entire pregnancy (I did buy one or two others as well), and I still have them (and wear them occassionally!) DD is 10 months old.

If your breasts are changing, a couple of other suggestions are:

-Crop top type bras - they're inexpensive, non-underwired, give small bbs enough support - obviously not an option if your b cup or bigger
-Inexpensive non-wired bras, not neccessarily maternity bras
-A bigger bra size OR
-maternity bras.

If you're planning on breastfeeding, I would say go get professionally fitted for maternity bras - that way they're more likely to see you through your pregnancy and beyond.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone, I have just gotten home from purchasing two new bras.
I ended up getting proper maternity ones as atleast they are a little bit pretty!!
They have plenty of room at the back to go bigger so I figure that I might be ok for a while. :fingerscrossed:

I cant believe how comfortable Iam now, they are like heaven compared to my old ones
