Hi Everyone,
My husband and I are TTC #2. We have only just started trying however I would love to talk to others who are also trying. We fell with Grace without actually really trying so after reading other people's posts I feel I am the only one who has absolutely no idea about the whole tracking ovulation etc. Can someone enlighten me?
Thanks
Paula :)

Hi Paula
We too are trying for No. 2. Bub No.1 arrived safely 4 months ago and we didn't really try to conceive him either - he just made his presence known a month after we got married. It actually took 2 years for him to arrive, but we weren't stressed about the time thing. But now that I want another one, I wonder if it will take as long the second time around. Like you, I'm not up on all the ovulation monitoring and whatever.
By the way, your daughter has a great birthday - its also mine! :)
Would love to keep in touch if you are interested my email is grennan@bigpond.net.au or on MSN at nicki_lives@hotmail.com
Take care
Nic
Hi, girls
We're also trying in June, for our first bub. We think we came close last month, but couldn't make it last beyond week 4 - a common story, I'm sure! I've been in "preparation" for about 8 months now, and have found the Maybe Baby ovulation test kit really useful. It uses saliva to track oestrogen levels and help you identify your fertility zone.
One question someone might be able to help me with, though: my Maybe Baby results have been a bit odd the last week or so. Instead of the fern/no fern results, I'm getting something that looks like little linked lines and squares, kind of like a drawing of a chemical structure (from what I can remember of Chemistry classes!). Could there be something amiss with my test kit, or the way I'm using it?
Best of luck to those of you trying!

Hi. I'm a bit new here. I'm 26 and my husband is 27. We've been married for 4 years, but waited to ttc so I can finish uni (only a few months of study to go). I would like to be pg before christmas so that I have a response to the eternal questions of where I will apply for work next year. We're ttc in june, for the first time. I'm a bit scared of trying actually, as I just found out on monday that I may have polycysic ovaries. I have butterflies in my stomach, I am going to the doc in 2.5 hours to find out the results of my blood test. If I do have something like that, will I be able to deal with the rollercoaster ride of hoping for a positive test result and then being shattered every month? Periods are all over the place, 36+ days, so it all seems a little hard. I'm one of those people who is either up or down - I find it hard to be as calm and sensible as my husband.
Happy trying to you all - remember "practice makes perfect" ;) .

Hi all,
I am also ttc in June! I am 33 and my husband is 37 but we hadn't decided to have kids for sure until early this year, so once we did, we kind of thought we better hurry up about it! This is only my 2nd 'real' month of trying and I have everything crossed right now that I might have conceived.
To Nic and Paula, once I decided to get pregnant I hunted around on the internet for the best time to conceive and came across this whole temperature charting thing. WELL... have I become addicted to that temperature or what??!! :-) It's actually quite fun and very interesting to see the way your temperature shifts throughout the month.
So how it works is you get a fertility thermometer from the chemist - not a fever one, the fertilility ones (or basal body temperature - BBT) are more accurate with 2 decimal places - and you take your temp at the same time every morning before getting out of bed, talking, drinking, eating etc. Note the temp on a chart and watch the pattern...
At ovulation time you get a sharp rise in temperature which means you have ovulated (ie. too late to fall preg. after the temperature has gone up!) There is often a temp. dip before ovulation to indicate it's about to happen - that's the best time to try! If you've conceived, your temp should stay high for the rest of your cycle because of the progesteron staying in your body. If you haven't it will drop and you will get your period.
You can also check your cervical mucus, but I haven't really gone for that myself - way too much trouble. But apparently eggwhite and stringy is the key sign you are fertile.
As for temps - don't be put off thinking it's too much trouble. I really look forward to doing my temp each morning and hubby asks me every day what it is. You can chart online for free at fertilityfriend.com and it's quite fun to watch the pattern - they have loads of information you can access too.
oh, and even if you don't think you need to do it just now, I think it's quite helpful to start charting because in a few months if nothing has happened and you go to see your doc about it, it helps them to see a record of your ovulation pattern and charting is the perfect way to do that. While we don't want that to be the case, it's worth thinking about!
Well, I think I've raved on enough. I hope that's useful to some of you - and good luck!!!!!

cosmicchick thanks for that,
I have actually been doing this BBT thing for 3 days now on FF.com I have also been doing the CM tracking as well. How much is the tem supposed to drop before O? Also how long is the window of opportunity so to speak so you can try?
So sorry if I sound really vague about this? With Grace I just was a bit slack with my pill and voila!!!
Cheers

Hi Paula!
Good work with the CM! To by honest, I think I'm abnormal because I don't seem to have any...?! Not much ever shows up on my undies (lovely conversations we have about these things!) and the one or two times I looked inside - nothing. How do you do it??
Anyway - not that I'm an expert with temps - and to be honest this month I wasn't going to do it until I couldn't stand the suspense so I only started on Day 12 of my cycle and on that day it was 35.98. For me that was quite low because last month I was up in the 36's all the time - and up to 37 or more on the high temp days (but I was having a regular glass or two of wine which I have since cut out which would explain the higher temps).
So I'm assuming I was at the low point if I was about to ovulate around Day 14-ish..
So I went (day 12 onwards) 35.98, 36.05, 36.19, 36.39, 36.46, 36.68, 36.69, 36.89, 36.79, 36.58, 36.79, 36.69.... and that was today!
If you chart that you can see the gradual rise for about the first 6-7 days and then it just hangs around up there. FF kicked in and told me I ovulated on Day 16 based on those temps (I think it waits for 3 consecutive high temps). My feeling is that it was more like Day 14-15 but who knows?
As for the timing - sperm can live for 5 days but eggs only survive 12-24hrs so the idea is to have those spermies hanging around in your cervix when the egg is released so they can pounce!! Hence sex anywhere within 5 days, but more likely within 2-3 days before ovulation and 1 day after is what I have heard/read.
Some people recommend every second day so improve the quality of the sperm but I've also read that doesn't make much difference and daily is ok.
Hope that helps!!!

By the way, Min, I was interested in your comment that you think you came close but didn't make it past 4 weeks. I have read that that happens a LOT and people think it's just a period.. I'm wondering how you know the difference..? Because I had a feeling that might have happened to me last month.
Can't help with the Maybe Baby thing sorry.

Hi all, this will be my 3rd month tcc. It will be our first baby when we fall. I spent the first couple of months obsessing and have now relaxed a little on it all. I thought i was going crazy and knew if i kept it up then if a hadn't fallen by the end of the year i would have gone insane!
It really does seem like one of those important and significant decisions in life you make and then have no control over! Its not like deciding to buy a puppy - and then actually going and buying a puppy the next day!
The woman in my family are very fertile. Im the oldest of 6 children and my sister already has 2 girls. They only have to look in the direction of their husbands and WAM! Pregnant! So I cant even understand why i havent even fallen by accident!
Kacey, i can identify with your situation the best. DH and I are 25 and will be married for 4 years in December. I also have irregular periods which changes your definition of monthly cycles. It has crossed my mind that i may have PCOS (based on what ive read in posts and such) but wouldnt even know where to start with that. I have a morbid fear of Doctors and my blood pressure sky rockets at the thought of going to see a GP. ( I know, i know - how will i have a baby if i cant 'do' doctors? i guess i will cross that bridge when i get to it as i want a baby so much. Knock me out for my check -ups maybe! Thank goodness for my DH - he will hold my hand!)
Please keep in touch as i would like to know how things went with your appointment and test.
This little phrase keeps me going:
"All good things come to those who wait"
I hope so :)

I too have being trying in june and i looks like it worked!!! :D I did a hpt the day after my period was due and two blue lines came up!!! I went to the doctors to get a blood test and the results came back that my hcg level were low; meaning im either only just pregnant or the bub "hasnt stuck" so im playing the waitting game for the next week. :o
Hopefully everything works out. Best of luck to you all, i found the best time to fall is 14days after your period, its when most of us ovulate, and it worked for me..
BABY DUST TO YOU ALL!!!!! :)

Hey Firstbub! Congratulations on the positive, I am looking forward to hearing of your HCG levels shooting up (I think you are the first June-baby here yeah?). You must be so excited, is your partner strutting around like a king? ;)
Can't wait for an update!

In answer to your question, Cosmic: although I can't prove that we were successful conceiving, I'm pretty sure. For starters, I had some classic pregnancy symptoms - regular but short bouts of nausea and tingly or sore boobs. In addition, I just had a very, very strong sense that I was pregnant. Unfortunately, I've experienced none of those things this month, so I think we've missed out for June. I'll know for sure in just over a week - so I'll keep my fingers crossed for a nice surprise! Otherwise, we'll soldier on and try for July. At least "getting close" gives us lots of encouragement - it suggests all the necessary bits are working!

Hi all,
We are ttc this month. This is our third month of trying. And it will be baby number three. We were trying for a girl but have given up. I was doing the whole mucus thing but with me I usually only had the discharge 3 time through my cycle which was once after my period finished, once about day 14 which I was thinking must mean I'm ovulating and the third just before I got my periods. Well for the last two months I have been getting more and more so I don't know what this means. If anyone has advise it would be great.
I'm hoping to fall this month as that will mean that I will be due on my youngest brother's 18th birthday.
Well, good luck to everyone ttc in June and keep us posted on how things go.

Congratulations Firstbub!!! (you'll have to use a different login now that there will be a 2nd bub!!) :) Please do let us know how it all goes. I read on another forum that a mum had quite low hcg levels but it all was fine. Yay - the first June success... I hope there will be many more!
Hi Min... don't feel disheartened just yet. You might be very surprised. I think everyone has a different experience when they fall pregnant - and some even have cramps and bleeding and are STILL pregnant so do stay positive until you know for sure. I suppose the one up-side of feeling a bit disheartened is that it will be a huge bonus if it turns out you are!!!
Stay in touch!

By the way, Katherine - I think more is GOOD!
And I think sometimes being more hydrated can make a difference to how much you see..? And other factors like that, so at least if you can see it, you can tell if it's fertile or not which is GREAT!! Would be nice to be due on your brother's birthday. :)

Congratulations Firstbub!!!! What a great feeling it is when you get those little positive lines.. Well my dh thinks he is a genius and believes that we have conceived this month already?? What gives him this idea? Well he just THINKS the baby has been made!!! No other reason at all.
I am due for AF in 5 days so we will see. I have been feeling little pains around the ovary area but that could be my imagination as I want to be pregnant. I must say I am not a very patient person, once I decide I am doing something then I am 100% and it must be done when I want it!!
Katherine I am the same with you, I seem to be getting a lot of CM through the month, every month.
Look forward to seeing more positive results in July if not by the end of June!!

Paula, you make me laugh. Your DH and mine are exactly the same. This will be the first for us so we're not sure what to expect but he is already rubbing my tummy morning and night and talking to the baby. :)
What does AF stand for by the way? As in - I know what it means but what does it mean literally? Mine's due Tuesday and I am equally impatient!! No signs yet but time will tell....

Hey Cosmic,
I stole it from another thread it means Aunt Flo(w)!! I guess it sounds a little nicer but kind of sounds a little like we are teenagers but hey anything to shorten it I guess.
Apparently my DH has decided that the Baby Bonus could be spent how he sees fit if he is right and we have conceived??? He is sadly mistaken though but I won't tell him that just yet..
Hope Tuesday brings you nothing (so to speak anyway)..

Thanks for the explantion Grace'smum, I was wondering too! For some reason (unremembered) when we were teenagers it was always "Barry"... shame I met a cute guy called Barry when I was 17, couldn't stop laughing!!!
cosmic
26-06-2005, 11:44 AM
Thanks Paula. AF... I like it. Very simple. Barry's very cute too... would be a bit confusing if you happen to know a few Barrys! :)
So far not a cramp, not a bloat, not a single sign and trust me, I am looking out for them ALL! Trying not to jump the gun as last month in my eagerness I took a test way too early and then of course when AF arrived right on schedule I felt like a complete idiot! :D
By the way, is anyone else interested in Astrology? (I'm a bit of a junkie). If it has happened this month, the bub will be Pisces so I have been reading up on Pisces babies! Helps to know a little of what to expect... if you're into that sort of thing of course... ;)
Mmm, I too am guilty of wanton overuse of pregnancy test kits! I went through 3 tests last month, in my eagerness and general lack of patience - and none of them gave me that second line! So I'm trying very hard to be frugal this month. I swear I will not unwrap a test stick until the day AF is due (although that could be any time from Friday to Sunday). Let's see if I can last another 7 days ...
(I've mentioned to my husband that, if blokes were able to have babies, they'd have come up with a home test that can be used from the date of ovulation years and years ago ...!)

Hi Guys,
good luck to everyone with their conceiving this month. I am still waiting for my period to come after my m/c. It was 6 weeks on thursday and so many times I think it's coming and then nothing. I thought maybe I was already pregnant again and I too have sone three pregnancy tests but all are negative. It' is so frustrating, but hopefully it will rear it's head soon (funny, you never want your period to come bbut I just want it to come so i know I'm back to normal again).
Hopefully it will come soon and we can start trying again.

Thanks for your reply Lucky*Me,
Yes, I have been dignosed with PCOS. My doc has high hopes for me. He reckons that within 6 months I'll be healthy and on my way to fertility. He's put me on the Atkins diet (I looked at him with horror) as I am somewhat overweight. Long story, but tried to lose weight all year with limited sucess, but turns out I'm in a pre-diabetic condition called insulin resistance. So far, after 48 hours on this diet I have already lost over one kg!!! And full of energy. Hooray!
Aparently excess weight can trigger the body to create excess insulin which can trigger excess testosterone which can shut down ovulation. So getting off carbs completely will apparently reverse that whole process and get me fertile, and I was hoping to lose weight before getting pg anyway.
I'm still a bit in shock that I am actually eating according to Atkins, it goes against everything I thought I knew, but the results speak highly. Don't think it's a cure-all, but my blood tests gave my doc the knowledge that this'd work for me.
Lucky*Me, do go see a doc with your hubby in hand, the sooner you go, the sooner you could start some sort of treatment to get your cycles happening. Doesn't have to be drugs. if you're not in a hurry just get yourself diagnosed (it could be something really simple) then research your best course of action. I've been reading heaps of sucess stories from different treatments - naturopathy, diet (not necessarily for weight loss), acupuncture, herbs. Don't wait until you're desperate to have a child before you start investigating, trust me it's not pretty.
I'm not sure what it is about docs you don't like, maybe you could try a different one on a friend's recommendation?
Please keep in touch, feel free to PM me if you like, I'd like to be able to support you.

Min, I totally agree! The waiting is torturous, isn't it? I must confess I went through more than one early test last month (and perhaps one the month before too...?) :o
Like you, I swore not to unwrap one until the day AF was due, but my dilemma is that that's a Tuesday and my local GP only works on a Monday and a Friday. Of course the logical approach is to wait until after Tuesday and if nothing, make the appt for Friday, right? Who's got the patience for that???!! So I caved and unwrapped this morning.. negative. :( It's early though - so I haven't given up hope yet. Just learning a few lessons in patience.
:)
ps.. Pippa, sorry to hear about the m/c.... I'll send you lots of positive vibes to try to speed things up for you!

Hi All,
I am trying to be patient until Thursday(when AF is due) but I am not one to wait for things. DH suggested buying HPK to see if he is right but I don't want to be disappointed.. I will be strong and wait until Thursday. Mind you if it isn't here by then you will hear the squeal of tyres as I hurry to the chemist to get the test!!.
I keep telling myself that surely it wouldn't happen first go, I am still getting a few little dull pains though. Is it my imagination maybe???
Anyway look forward to hearing everybody's updates on how they are going.
Pippa - I am sorry to hear about your m/c did the doctor not give you any advice on how long it may take for your period to return? I hope they return very soon so you can keep trying..

Hey Paula,
Since this is my first and I don't really know what to expect... can you tell me more about "dull pains"? Is it kind of like a feeling of pressure in your lower abdomen, but not like a normal monthly cramp? Because that's what I have been experiencing. None of my usual pre-menstrual symptoms but definitely a feeling that 'something' is going on down there.
Oh, and on my astrology tangent again  - all Geminis are particularly fertile at the moment (through to September) and Aquarians had a new moon (very auspicious) in the fertility sector in June which is PERFECT time for conceiving. Hope that gives added hope to at least a few of you. Being Aquarian, I'm liking it a lot! :D

Hi Pippa,
I also had a m/c (mine was 7 weeks ago) and my a/f took 4w5d to return. Each of us is different, but I'm so glad yours has returned, it means you can start the ball rolling again (so to speak).
The doc did tell me that it could take up to 8 weeks to return and that it would prob be heavier and painful when it did. It was fairly heavy but there was pain whatsover which I was relieved about.
We are already ttc and currently in the 2ww (2 week wait until a/f arrives or doesn't).
Sending lots and lots of baby dust your way, here's hoping it sticks to both of us.
Good luck!!!!

Sorry to here about your m/c hope you are coping ok. I feel better now that my period has come. It took 6 weeks and 4 days. I was just wondering though, my cycle was every 26 days before i fell pregnant so i could work out when i was going to ovulate, I wonder though is it will be the same???
I was just trying to work out when i would be ovulating next.

Cosmic - the pains kind of feel like period pain but not as often or as painful. I am so pathetic though I caved and bought a HPK which you can use up to 4 days prior to a/f. Well that just deflated me as it was BFN. I am not doing that again (or so I tell myself today).

Cosmic, I was wondering if having a Gemini male means that fertility is increased at the moment? ALso, if you happen to know...(hint hint!) when are Virgo's supposed to be at their most fertile?
cosmic
27-06-2005, 01:51 PM
Hi BlueGin,
I think Gemini male is just as good! Basically, Jupiter (planet of abundance/expansion) has been parked in Gemini's house of love/creativity/PREGNANCY since around October last year and will be there until around September this year (I think). The thing is it's been retrograde for a while (not sure but I think that slows things down a bit) and has only just started moving forward again! woohoo! Full steam ahead.
I should know about Virgo because I have heaps of it in my own chart, but I might have to do some more hunting and get back to you. I know Virgos have just started a new cycle of making more money if that makes you feel better!! :)
cosmic
27-06-2005, 02:37 PM
Hi again BlueGin,
Just found this on the net for Virgo...
Jupiter's return to direct motion (June 5) is a positive influence re your finances, creativity and fertility.
Looks like Jupiter is being very helpful to Virgo as well as Gemini so you are in double-luck! :)
cosmic
27-06-2005, 03:19 PM
My apologies to those of you who aren't interested in my astro-babble, but if you are Virgo and trying to conceive you have to read this!
I completely forgot that the full moon last week was in Virgo's 5th house (yes that's the pregnancy one!). Full moons bring change and this one was at zero degrees so it had extra energy. BUT... next month's full moon is ALSO in Virgo's 5th house. Two in a row! This is highly unusual and bodes veeeeeery well for Virgo's trying to conceive. And in fact it could bring surprises for Virgos who aren't! ;)
Apparently, this month's will hit August 22 birthdays most and next month's will hit September 21 b'days. If you are in between, lucky you - you'll benefit equally from both.
Hope that helps!

Well, what do you know. I'm a Virgo (Sep 10).
Woohoo!!!! hope that means good things for me, I've been having slight aches down in the tummy region and have slightly sore boobs (and I'm not imagining this, really I'm not, lol). I usually don't get sore boobs until 2 days b4 a/f and that's not due until next Sunday (the 3rd July).
I guess we'll just have to wait and see. And of course, any more info on astrology is more than welcome this side of things.

Hi all,
I am trying to conceive in June also. :o I don't think I know as much about the Fertility Awareness Method of conceiving ( trying to pinpoint the time of ovulation) as Cosmic chick does but I have a book about it and will give it a go. I am pretty sure what day I concieved my 21 month old Harrison on because I noticed the egg white cervical mucus but it I think all women have less fertile days as they get older.... they say five fertile days or even seven but I think I would only be fertile two days a month because it is taking a while to get pregnant. I'm sure I'm not as fertile as I was ten years ago but I hope to be pregnant by Christmas. I'm lucky to have four healthy kids but would love another baby. Good luck to all of you

A baby brother or a baby dragon - how gorgeous!! :)
Fiona, you've obviously got no fertility troubles if you've had FOUR! I have only been doing the temperatures for a couple of months and I highly recommend it. It's simple and it shows quite clearly if/when you have ovulated. If it's taking a bit longer this time (especially if you've hit the over 30 or especially the over 35) it might be worth considering..?
Check out fertilityfriend.com if you haven't already. I also love that they have a chart gallery when you can stickybeak at loads of other charts to compare your own with women who have fallen pregnant. Best of luck!

Heya Cosmic! Thanks for the awesome info! It's really exciting to know that the planets are on my side on this one :p
I was just wondering what you meant by bday August 22 and September 21... my birthday is Sept 14, is this what you are referring to? Or conception dates? I love all this stuff, and have found I am a pretty typical Virgo with attitudes and all (so hopefully with this too!).
As for the money thing, I don't work, but hubby just got a promotion so mabe that's it!!! Yay!
Thanks again Cosmic, great to hear from you.

Hiya Gin, Yes - sorry I meant the date of your birthday. As for the money thing, that part of the chart can also represent personal values and self-worth so you might notice improvement there if it isn't actual earned income. Mars, however (planet of energy, aggression, ambition) is parked in your 8th house of shared finances so that could explain hubby's payrise!
Even though I am Aquarius, I have Virgo rising AND moon (that's a lot of Virgo!) so I have a lot of those Virgo tendencies too (though I don't think I'm THAT anal... ;)). If you know your time and place of birth, a full chart will give a fuller picture. For me, I'm loving that this month I had that Virgo full moon as well as an Aquarius NEW moon (new beginnings) in the fertility sector. Bonus!!
And if you are interested, the BEST monthly horoscopes - pages and pages worth for FREE - are at www.astrologyzone.com. You'll like what it says for Virgo and pregnancy this month. Shelly, you'll want to check it out too!!
Baby dust to all. A/F due today for me and so far no sign. Lookin' good! :)

Firstly, I would like to thank COSMIC for all the interesting info, my hubby is a virgo so i am hoping this is our month !!!!!!!!! :p. My AF is not due for another week, i am being very impatient, this will be our 4th month TTC, if i did (fingers crossed) conceive this monnth, my baby will be due 2 days after my dads birthday, my dad would be soooooo excited. My hubby & I have been married for 6 years & this would be the first grandchild on both side of the family !
Good luck & lots of love & Baby dust to everyone !
To: Stellaj_79, i was feeling sad this morning but when I read your post "A baby brother or baby dragon" I have to say it put a HUGE smile on my face ;)
Thank you xoxoxoxo

Hi Cosmic,

Gosh kids are so funny aren't they?

Good luck, Cosmic!! I've got everything crossed for you. (And doubly so, as I'm also an Aquarian and hoping you'll be leading the way for the rest of us this month!) We're waiting for good news.

Wow! Great site Cosmic, a ton of interesting information about me and my Gemini, and the dates are freaky... his career jump was predicted on the day he was promoted, and an unexpected pay rise came in just when she said! That site is freaky cool, I am gonna have to bookmark it!
I would love to look at my full birth chart, I couldn't find the option on that site, do you know of anywhere that they are available? (I have all my birth details to enter).
Thanks again, and good luck, I will be crossing my fingers that AF steers clear of you this month!

Good luck Cosmic, I have been saying a little baby prayer for all of us trying!!! I have two questions if anyone could help:
1. After caving in and doing a test yesterday of which I got a BFN. Is it possible that I just don't have enough of the HCG hormone to read a positive on the test? If that is the case then does that mean it is an ingeneous marketing ploy to say "test up to 4 days before your period is due".
2. When I was pregnant with Grace I did not get any symptoms at all. I have been feeling quite nauseous for the last couple of days. Would this happen so early? I am due for AF on Thursday which would only make it very early days..
Cosmic - How is your FF chart looking?? Is your temperature still up? Apparently that is one of the signs if you have in fact conceived. My temperature has been up which is why I am thinking maybe I am  I think I am just second guessing everything now.
Oh well only time will tell (I really hate that saying now!!)
Cheers

I know! Susan Miller's forecasts are the best! Very, very accurate and lots of people wait on tenterhooks at the beginning of every month for them to appear (including me I have to admit.. oh it's the 28th.. they'll be out again in a couple of days! :D)
The best site I think to cast your chart is www.nickcampion.com. On the homepage, in the top right corner there is a little ad promoting getting your personality profile and if you click that it takes you to a page to cast your chart.
SO.. once you know your rising sign (Ascendant) you need to read that forecast as well - otherwise you are only ever getting half the story!
Katherine - sorry I'm not as much of an expert as I appear. I will look in some books I have and let you know if they mention anything, but do try Susan Miller's site (astrologyzone.com) and count on that Gemini husband of yours being fertile!!
Thanks for all the warm wishes, everyone. Despite all my lucky planets, I'm not sure it's happened this month. A little spot of brown blood today... implantation perhaps? Or a pre-cursor to AF. It's hard not to be disappointed, especially when I've had NO signs at all of my period. At least none of the usual ones! :(

Paula.. just saw your note too.
You can DEFINITELY get a negative result because the levels are too low. I know of someone who did FOUR tests that all showed neg. but she was pregnant. I think the catch is that they say "CAN BE used up to x days..." - but I believe they are more accurate the longer you wait. If you look around at the hcg levels of some of the people even on this site, you can see the difference at different stages of pregnancy so I think we are all highly individual when it comes to hormone levels.
As for symptoms - from what I've read they are a completely individual thing too! I also have felt a little queasy this week (which would be early even if I was pregnant I'm sure) and wondering if it is imagination..
I took my temp this morning and it was still UP so I'm strutting around thinking "Of COURSE I'm pregnant" and was devastated to see a small brown spot of blood when I went to the loo. It hasn't really increased yet, but there is very dull cramping down there so I think I have missed out this month. :(
I did have one slightly lower temp 2 days ago, but it shot back up again and has stayed up so I thought it was all under control... I'm with you Paula - the whole 'time will tell' thing is driving me up the wall.
I hope everyone else has good news soon and I will keep you all informed too!

Hey cosmic, ohh did you miss me, thats cute!!! :p I still dont know anything yet that why i havent posted, i find out on friday and hopefully my levels will be up, ive still got sore boobs which must be a good sign :) Im sure if anything was wrong i wouldnt still have symptoms, ill let you know for sure what the out come is. As for the star sign web site is fantastic ive been getting my week by horoscope done for about 3 months is so interesting i love it.I also did that fertility friend site and that was cool, i did my temperture every morning and got a green light when i was fertile, you can do it for a month for free so its definatly worth giving it a go!
GRACESMUM - i did one of those 3 days before period pregnacy tests and it was negative, 4 days later(the day after i missed my period) i did a hpt and it was positive, like you i couldnt wait thats why i did the early one and obviously i was pregnant but it didnt show up  so definatly wait as you could get a false reading like i did. As for hcg levels where do i start!! im back at the doctors this week cause last week my levels were low so by this week they should of doubled!!
Best of luck to you all Go spermies GO!!! :D

And now I really must disable this email notification thing since I get NO work done since joining this forum. :D

Hey cosmic, i know what you mean one day turns into the next and so on.
So sweetie maybe this is it??? If you dont get AF today then i strongly recommend you go a hpt first thing in the morning ;) Also the dark spot you had could just be 'old' blood. Even if you still do get AF and it is lighter then normal you could still be pregnant! I so hope this is it for you.My fingers are so tightly crossed there going blue..... Best of luck hon..
BlueGin, how are you going sweetpea? Are you on holidays from uni yet! Your other half and mine are both gemini`s!! Im also a gemimi and its such a crack up because out birthday are two days apart( although hes 10 years older- old fart) .I hope your AFs have been regular. Ive heard about that medicine called comlid or something like that, i wonder if that would work for you, its supose to regulate your period and makes sure you ovulate.
My spirt fingers are sending very strong baby waves your way!! oxoxox

Hey Jenn..
It does look just like 'old' blood and there have been a couple more teeeeeny tiny brown spots as the day has progressed. I read on another forum (because of course I went madly searching the net for anyone who has had the same thing - and hundreds have!) that when the bubba burrows itself into you, you cannot help but have SOME blood even if it's not enough to notice. Still having the occasional dull achey feeling though (which is the most cramping I've had this month at all!) so all in all I think it's still too early to tell.
Thanks for the good vibes. Don't know what I'd do without all of you - probably drive my poor husband batty with my ravings :)

Hi everyone, I am trying for my second child. My little boy just turned two (14th June)...my DH and I said we would discuss ;) a second when our first turned two but looks like we made up our minds straight away! I am three days late for my period (if I counted 28 days after last one), my breasts are a little tingly and I am trying not to get prematurely excited and buy a home preg kit yet! In my diary I counted back my last few cycles and they were all only 25 or 26 days long....we had sex at day 10 and 11 of last cycle. Sorry about all the mathematical wishful thinking! Good luck to all of you!

Clairbear, I think you better go get that HPK. Sounds pregnant to me! 3-5 days late and you're trying not to get your hopes up?!! Unlike the rest of us, who have had our hopes up since 3-5 days BEFORE AF due. :)
Look forward to hearing from you!

Hi all,
thought I would share some great statistical info I found on fertility friend that might answer Paula's earlier question (and the rest of us who spend a fortune testing early!). It was a survey of about 100,000 charts they did to see the most reliable date to get an accurate test. I have cut and pasted this:
"The most interesting result is the nearly perfect match between the average first positive test result day and the day of the expected period. The average day to get a positive test is at 13.6 DPO and the average luteal phase length is 14 days (verified on our sample as well)."
It also gives the number of false negatives who test 3 days before period!
For the full report (very interesting stats) go to:
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/When_can_I_expect_a_positive_HPT_if_I_am_pregnant. html
As for me, no AF yet but a significant temp drop today so I'm expecting it any time. Can't help but be a little disappointed... but it's still early days. A bit hopeful to expect it to happen straightaway, I suppose.
Look forward to hearing from the rest of you!

Hi there Cosmic and Min (fellow aquarians) and everyone else ttc!
HOORAY!!! I am preggers! Decided to skip the home kit thing went straight to my doctor as I wanted to talk about doing screening tests as early as possible since I will be 38 whan bub is born. Urine test was positive and looks like I will have a liitle Pisces if all goes well! :p I am a little scared about poss miscarriage plus tests etc. being a bit older, and therefore my husband and I will be trying to keep it under wraps until the 12 week mark...........so I am sharing it with you guys and hoping my good luck rubs off on you all! I love reading all your posts.
take care and lotsa luck! :)

Wow, that's fantastic, Clairbear!! I feel privileged to be in on your secret!
I'm feeling dubious about whether I'm going to follow in your footsteps this month (despite being Aquarian). I am feeling distinctly pre-menstrual at the moment - AF is due some time btw Friday & Sunday (my cycle varies a bit). So, in the meantime I've registered at Cosmic's fertility.friend site - I'm all ready to go with an over-the-top, in-your-face conception campaign for July - my ovaries are not going to know what's hit them ...

STELLA, your last post said you thought i was pregnant, and i definatly am but when i had it comfirmed by my doc he said my hcg levels were very low meaning im either in early stages of pregnancy of the baby 'has stuck' and could result in a miscarriage. So im back to the doc tomorrow to have another blood test and find out friday if every thing is ok.I few ladies on this forum have had the same thing and everything worked out fine so im sure all with be good! :)

Yaaayyyyyyy Clairbear!! Nice work!! I'm very excited for you (and more than a little bit pleased some of my astro-forecasting was correct, even if not for me!!) :p Do you know even the bloody Woman's Day horoscopes this week said that Aquarians may have pregnancy news?!!
I too feel honoured to be in on your secret... and full of admiration if you manage to keep it a secret until 12 weeks!
Min.. you'll love FF and you'll hate it! I warn you now that you will become addicted to charting. Any little anomaly in my chart and I find myself poring over the chart gallery looking for similar patterns that have resulted in pregnancy. It's so fun I think I'll keep doing it even after I'm pregnant. :D
Paula.. symptoms? Fingers crossed those temps stay UP, UP, UP!
As for me, still no AF and now officially a day late, but there was that temp drop this morning which would mean AF today or tomorrow... I guess my cycle could be longer than normal  or FF could have misjudged O day which would mean I haven't actually gone under my coverline after all :) oooooohhhh the waiting...

Hi all...
Well, AF has well and truly arrived today! So perhaps I need to start a new thread called 'Anyone trying to conceive in July?' :)
A tad disappointing but I have learned a lot (see my other note on waking times - take note Min!) and I also think I had a more 'normal' cycle this month which bodes well for future attempts. Not to mention that if I am successful in July, my DH is quite excited that it will be due 2 days before his birthday. As for me, I'm not sure I can handle another Aries in the house!
Paula - hope your temp is still UP and AF gives you a miss!! And still looking forward to hearing from everyone else.
cheers,
cosmic x
Ah, I'm sorry to hear that, Cosmic. But it's good that you're looking on June as a "learning experience" - I know it's hard to stay positive at times. (I suspect I'll join you in the AF camp tomorrow - so we will need that 'trying to conceive in July' thread!)
And thanks very much for the tip about temps and time. I took my temp for the first time today, so will now try to stick to 6.30am religiously!

Jaz,
All I've had so far are a few little pains which I have know idea what they are. It's not like the normal pains I get before my period so fingures crossed. My temp has also stayed up around 37.1 for the last week and they say that is a sign. Feel free to email me at angcal1@yahoo.com.au

Hi guys,
Min, I always 'knew' about the waking time thing but don't think I really 'got' it, if you know what I mean. It was only yesterday I read on a site that you should add .1 to your temp for every 30 minutes early you take it, and subtract .1 for every 30 minutes later than normal that you wake. Doesn't seem like much, but a difference of 20 - 40 min either side can make a big difference, esp. around O time when you're watching them like a hawk! (and around AF time!!).
Good luck to you too Katherine!
I think I'd be more upset if I'd been trying for longer.. but having only recently starting trying 'properly' I'm finding it no problem to stay optimistic. :)
My strategy next month is to forget all that **** about every 2nd day to make sure the spermies are strong - I'm taking firstbub's advice and going like rabbits until I clearly see ovulation has been and gone. Funnily enough, DH is quite happy with that plan. :D
Looking forward to more news from everyone...

Dearest Jaz, Grace's mum, Min, firstbub, Cosmic and Katherine
Awwww I got warm fuzzies from all your wishes of congratulations! I really appreciate it since I am determined to wait to tell our parents and most family at the three month mark (I have told my sister who is close to me and trying to conceive her first baby) plus my mother's group today since I won't mind telling them if something goes wrong in that time. Yes of course I couldn't keep a secret!! :p
Min you talk of pmt symptoms.....you never know I felt like I was pmting to the max and taking it out on my dh (love how those initials can represent another term as well as darling husband!) so pregnancy could also be the reason for those mood swings!
Firstbub what a coincidence! Dunno bout you but by the way my 2 year old darling is testing me at the moment I sure hope he does some growing up in the next eight months, ha ha!

Well Cosmic I think I shall be joining you :( . The temp dropped significantly this am. I have started to get twinges of pain and my back is a little achy... I think by this evening AF will be here. I am not too disheartened though, like yourself this was the 1st month of trying and I really didn't think we would fall first go..
July is a good month for my family, my birthday and my darling Grace's 1st birthday so lots of good things happening....
To all of you that conceived, well done it keeps our average up!!! To all of you like me trying - have fun practising!!

Hey Cosmic, just found out I am a Capricorn ascending, so now even more fun to be had looking at that chart! Thanks again for the great information, you are helping me lighten up on the whole thing which is fabbo!
Heya Jenn!! I have been AWOL the last couple of days having a bit of fun. I am on holidays and yesterday hubby and I went for a day trip to Daylesford (where we eloped in April) which was lovely and gooey... and today I have been trekking the asian markets having the time of my life in the rain with about 50 bags of stuff (I really like rain, and shopping, and tracking around solo so this was nirvana people! ;))
Thankyou for your good wishes matey, no sign of a mini-me this month, I am considering Clomid, I think that is what my gyn uses (he happens to be a fertility specialist and IVF wonder so I am in good hands!) and I will see him in August if we don't pull it off ourselves beforehand.
Can you believe there are so many of us left who are going to be July-triers? Hand in there guys, statistically we are going to get picked off one by one till we all jump into the "when are you due?" thread!
A nice thought :), will be great!
So this is coming up for our 4th month of trying, (we are getting really good at it now :p) so fingers, toes, and eyes crossed for the lot of us,
Gin
