I' m looking for any feedback on delivery at teh Mercy as private patient.

I was a private patient at Mercy - not a lot of benefits except I did get my own private room (although not guaranteed) and my friend who was also a private patient did not get a private room and was not happy (considering you still have to pay excess etc).

You get first preference for a birthing suite if they are all full and you are in labour and your personal OB but other than that there isn't any special treatment or hotel offers or nicer food or anything. If you want the private star treatment it's probably best to go to an actual private hospital - I was disappointed that the new Mercy didn't even have a private wing (like Frances Perry, Jesse McPherson etc)
