hi everyone!! how exciting there is already so many of us.

mummy7 i noticed ur sons birthday is the 30th of dec. my daughter was born 29th dec. im not looking forward to spending money for two sets of presents around that time of yr. but im so excited for her first christmas and birthday anyway!

im thinking of having a picnic for her birthday with all the fam, except that at the moment she has a bit of a phobia of grass. anyone else have that problem or similar? she originally hated plants too but we are slowly getting there. the other day she even grabbed a plant and pulled a leaf off, i was very proud.

im pretty much a SAHM at the moment too. i finished uni in sept so ive got a long holiday. i love being at home with my baby girl and im not really looking forward to going back to uni (esp the amount of prac i have to do next yr), but ill be happy when ive finally finished uni! been at it for 5 yrs so far.

well as i said at the top, im really excited to get to know u all. now i best go get my daughter before she wakes up my sleeping partner.

Hi all Im a 24yr old mumma to a little girl who will be 2 at the end of december, it goes way too fast, my advice to other parents with kids born near xmas is to definatley do the layby in July thing, and plan out exactly what you want to get, it was our first xmas/bday last year and couldnt get half of the stuff we wanted cos it was all sold out, so i just went a grabbed things randomly not knowing when to stop and she got way too much stuff and we spent heaps too much on her!!
was ttc no.2 but fate had other plans and my husband and I are separated at the moment, he flew to another state where his mummy and daddy are for 'work' and broke up with me over the phone the next day, friggin a*sehole!!:banghead:
Still trying to deal with all that....

anyways sorry for the sulking, be nice to chat and get to know some other 20 something mummas!

OMG everyone.. this is really exciting!!! There are so many of us YAY!!! :yelclap: (yes I have no life.. I am addicted to bubhub hehe:laughing:)
Cecandchels... that is awesome that our bub's b'day's are one day apart. And yes... dec is now busier than ever b4 but I can not wait for his 1st birthday and 1st chrissy. I am just planning a big afternoon tea and cake so he is in fine spirits to enjoy himself after his midday sleep (if he doesn't have his nap he is a lil devil:devil: hehe). A picnic sounds like a lovely idea.. hopefully she will be more comfortable w grass by then.
Lapi.. I have 2 lil pooches and my ds is inlove w both of them and wants to play w them 24/7. I had problems cleaning his teeth as well so I sidetract him (let him watch the dog's) while I give his lil teeth a good brush. Dont know if it will help.. but that is what works for me... ooohhh the things we do
Look forward to getting to know you all ladies :)

my daughter has just got teeth over the last couple of weeks and to get her used to the idea i let her play with the toothbrush in the bath. i pretend to brush mine and then she opens her mouth to let me do her. she loves it, im not sure if its cause she always loved watching me brush my teeth - she thought it was hilarious. anyway i read about giving them their tooth brush in the bath and it works for me. hope that helps.

im getting a new car tomorrow woohoo! but had to clean my old car out cause its getting passed along. so annoying, pretty much the first time ive cleaned it since i had it. well maybe the 2nd.

anyway must go to sleep. have a good day tomorrow!

good afternoon everyone.

well the car is a mazda 323, thats as much as i know about it. oh, and its greyish/silver. very exciting but im always so nervous when i drive a new car. i think this one is a little wider then my old one, and when i went to the shops today it took me two goes to park properly. chels seems to like it, although the guy who put the car seat in put it in upright whereas i used to have it on a bit of a lean, surely more comfortable for her, but cant change it now cause he did it so tight and im too scared to undo it incase i cant get it back.

bessibo - complain away! this is where u can do it guilt free. i hope ur going ok and things are getting better.

lapi - how did/is the tooth brushing going?

Hi Gals,
thanks for the hugs and support, Im doin okay, just have to get on with it, my family and friends and backing me up and making sure i stay strong
I think the hardest thing will be DD's bond with her father, even though he hasnt really looked after her on his own except a few occasions in her mind 'daddy is just so much fun!' except when he argues with me of course, and I dont want her to grow up thinking thats okay either... I wonder how much effort he will make regarding her now :detective: will be frustrating either way....for me at the moment I am really sad that I wont be getting another baby and DD wont have a little sibling to love, my heart really hurts for that and also the wedding was the best day of my life how did it come to this :(

I cant wait for Christmas this year, it will be the first one in 4 years that il actually be home with 'MY' family :smiliedance: and DD will b getting spoilt rotten considering her B'day is not long after!! I am getting her some big outdoor stuff this year, the house is overflowing with toys then outside she only has a few things, she is getting a my first trampoline with the net around it and also a big jungle gym with a swing and slide and lots of other bits and pieces too.

sambo13
07-11-2008, 21:05
This year for christmas is our most expensive one....

We are doing up the back yard properly for the kids...Cubby house, slide, sandpit....etc...

I think if I add up the kids stuff it is getting close to $1,500...And thats just for the kids!

OMG I am not too late to join this one too am I??? I've been on bubhub for a little while now aimlessly wandering & reading like a lone ranger. I have only recently had the confidence to start posting but all threads I feel I could be a part of have been established for a while & I don't want to be an intruder!!! This one seems quite fresh so I hope I can still join

I'm Paula, I'm 24 & have a 6 month old little girl named April. I live in Brisbane with my partner & I am a stay at home mum with no plans to go back to paid work anytime soon. Heaps of mums I talk to say that they get bored & so go back to work but I just can't seem to find enough hours in the day to do everything I want (bubhub is addictive). That's me & I hope that I can join you all!

meeka2k and babybugblue of course ur welcome! and so is everyone! i cant believe there are so many of us. im finding it hard to keep up with all the names.

BESSIBOO that sounds good about the night out, girls nights out are so much fun! and u deserve it. and MUMMY7 thats so good about ur ds swimming. im so jealous i have been thinking about getting dd swimming lessons but i havent really got around to it. and im probably too poor anyway. grr - im very over having no spare money. but on the other hand i guess i did just get a car, so cant complain. its a 2003 model and it is nice. very spacious and comfortable inside, i think its about $60 to fill up but it should last a while, i hope anyway. what else? good speakers and a really good size boot. i can fit my pram in no problems, and ive got a pretty big pram so that helps. and it drives well, much better then my old car anyway. really smooth. LAPI thats so good about the teeth, i know it can be stressful. i havent buying stuff for christmas yet but there are some really, really cute toys and things on this website:
www.sendatoy.com.au
i love it.

anyway, enough of my rambling for now.

Oh great I look forward to getting to know you all!

Bit more about me: I live with my partner under his parents house in a little aprtment type area. It's great of them to accomodate us but I can't wait to get my own place!!! I moved in here 3 weeks before my bub was born & so haven't really had my little girl all to myself before. MIL is always home so I never really get time to myself. In saying that there are lots of benefits to living here also so can't complain too much ;)

I am looking forward to my little girls first christmas but haven't even started looking for gifts yet! Any suggestions for an 8 month old????

P.S. I wish I could get a new car! I drive a 1992 model corolla which is good but gosh I crave that new car smell! Hopefully if my partner keeps up with his current job (keeping jobs are not his strong point) I can get a new car soon

ladybugblue, i lived with my partners mum for about 8 months. i moved in when i was about 36wks pregnant and moved out in june. so i know exactly how ur feeling. i got along really well with her and had no problems really except that, like u, i just wanted my own space so badly. i always felt like i was intruding a bit and was paranoid i was being too messy. but it was a beautiful hose and we werent paying rent so couldnt really complain. but towards the end i was getting so stressed about it. now that we have our own place it is 10 times better!

well its saturday night and my partner has gone out to our friends place. secretly im really happy about this cause sometime i love just doing nothing all by myself. bit sad i know, but i just couldnt be bothered with the hassle of taking chelsea out when she would be tired and grumpy. plus none of my friends have babies and although they are really great they just dont understand what its like. so im just going to browse the net, watch tv and eat some mint slice. sounds like heaven to me! what did everyone else get up to this weekend? bessiboo how was ur night out??

I still keep in touch with 2 of the girls, and they have been keeping me up to date with everything that has been happening and OMG... Drama Drama Drama! I am pretty sure I am just going to hand in my notice just before my leave is up. Its not worth the stress everyday. I would much rather get a job hanging clothes on a rack in a clothes store!

Bessieboo: Don't listen to a word he says! Half of it probably isn't true, and by no means are you a bad mother for leaving your bub with her doting family for a couple of hours and having an innocent child free night. God knows you deserve it! He definately DOES sound like a D*ck!!

my youngest bub was diagnosed with incontinentia pigmenti (she will be fine thankfully) however the only way we can have more kids is to try naturally and risk spreading it further (this disease can cause mental retardation, organ failure, blindness even death) they can test for it at 12 weeks but if it come back positive we would have to mke the decision to abort or not i can not do that i would have to keep the baby our only other option is genetic testing ivf we have 2 gorgeous girls but i just want more kids it just me i have always wanted a big family do you tink it is selfish for me to go through with the ivf and what would you do?????

OK, Just did a little bit of google-ing, and had a bit of a read. :hugs: to you and your family! Glad your little one is going to be fine :)

If you want opinions, I personally WOULD do the genetic testing through IVF.

Hey ladies, i haven't been on bubhub in a whole day i get left behind LOL
im trying to plan my bubs 1st b'day....stupid unpredictable weather and ppl not rsvp'n! stressed!

Bessiboo: im glad you have gr8 night out :)...ur ex is just jealous that you can have fun without him!..

Lapi: *big cuddles* i would look into ivf as well. expensive, but worth it. I know what you mean when u said you feel like an intruder when u go out with ur childless friends. i went out for the second time since bubs was born and i was sooo "not with it" lol. i decided to not drink to much and head home a bit early becoz i had to get up to my bubby the next day. omg how lame LOL..

mumalot: welcome :) hope u can keep up with these girls better then i can LOL

Mummyjessie: I keep in touch with the girls from work as well...i spose when you work in an all female environment its bound to get totally *****y at one stage..drama drama drama!! ( i work in childcare, we have one guy working there...but hes sooo gay, luv him tho, hillarious)

cec: cool to chat to you the other nite, we have very similar birth stories!..lil munchkins decided to make an entrance! lol hows your bubby's teething going? my bubby's cutting her top teeth at the mo...poor lil bubba, screams the place down. I thought getting my wisdom teeth was bad enough.

anways enough of my ramblings for one day. Hopefully i will be able to get on again soonish!..catch ya lataz lovely ladies :D..xx

hehehe I know this is completely irrelevent but mummyjessie86 I was looking at your signature & my partners name is Jesse Lea!

 It's a great name! My brother's name is also Jesse (He is adopted). Gets a bit confusing in my house when someone rings and asks for Jess... Cos they usually get my brother or my dad (Jeff!) before they get me! LOL.

Mummyjessie: I keep in touch with the girls from work as well...i spose when you work in an all female environment its bound to get totally *****y at one stage..drama drama drama!! ( i work in childcare, we have one guy working there...but hes sooo gay, luv him tho, hillarious)

Hehe, Yeh it does get a bit *****y! There used to be just 3 females in the whole branch... But when I left, my boss put on 2 girls to do my job! (Full-time!) So the other 2 are a bit sh!tty about the fact there are 2 people doing 1 persons job and it still isn't being done! My boss wants me to be a floater when i get back but mainly help them out! So that will be 3 girls doing 1 persons job and I don't really get along with them either, so I'm just not going back

I just don't need the extra stress! Being a single mum of a full on little boy stresses me out enough, without having to go to work and deal with all the issues there! I would much rather stay home and do finger painting! LOL.

I have, however, decided to study childcare like I started and maybe work a few hours at the childcare centre in our suburb. Lucky its not an ABC centre! :p

OMG, enough blabbering from me!

Hope everyone is doing well, and look forward to getting to know you all! Keeping up so far :fingerscrossed:

hey everyone. it is hard to keep up here now! but thats a good thing i think.

lapi, i agree with everyone else. ur def not being selfish by looking into IVF, i think thats what i would do too. i cant imagine being in ur position, but i am so glad that ur bubba is ok.
i totally get "feeling out of it" with friends. i always tell them to hurry up and have a baby, but they never listen:laughing: i always end up leaving early and dont drink as much as them anymore either, usually im just excited to go home to chels. how sad.

laylasmumma it was nice to chat to u too. im sure ill probably back on there some time. so dd's teeth are still coming thru. her top teeth came down first and her bottom 2 are on the way up, but they are quite crooked - anyone else have this? im paranoid about it, but mum and everyone tell me baby's teeth coming up crooked is pretty normal. they are so cute tho, and when she gets cranky she starts biting everything (me, toys, coffee table), its the cutest thing ive ever seen but according to mum "nobody likes a biter" so ill have to stop her doing that. so hard to not laugh. what do u guys do if ur teaching ur kids whats right and wrong? have u started yet? do u need to?

so ive had a pretty crusiy weekend, its been so hot here in sydney. and im so pasty im almost blue:devil6:

talk again soon.

Cec..... Ds has started to bite me as well.. it is so.. hard to keep a straight face. He is starting to become quite naughty so I have been saying NO.. (as firmly and seriously as I possibly can hehe) He is very head strong to say the least w quite a temper (gets it from his father ). Lately he has been impossible when I change his nappy.. rolling all over the show and carrying on a treat. It takes so.. long just to change him!! He has also started throwing tantrums if he wants to do something he is not allowed to (like raid the cupboards and drawers). I have def had my hands full lately. I never think this way.. but tonight I was quietly happy to see him go to bed . He threw the biggest tantrum because I forgot to let him pull the plug to the bath (silly me) and he did not forgive me... refused his bottle before bed and everything.. so I am just about to go and feed the lil munchkin so I dont get woken at some crazy hr as I have to work at 730am.. Anyway enough blabbing... R u getting used to ur new sweet ride?? Oh... I just ordered these awesome invitations from the net for ds b'day.. they are magnetic w a photo of him and everthing.. love them. Very exciting!!! Cant believe he is almost 1 aaarghhhh!!! (And ur dd 2...) Chat soon hun :)

Mummy Jessie... I am studying child care too and I love it.. so.. rewarding!!

Lapi... I agree w everyone else as well. You are not being selfish at all.. I would probably do the same thing :hugs:

Ladybugblue84.... I feel completely out of place when it comes to socialising w my friends who do not have kids. I feel like I have nothing to talk to them about besides my ds. I want them to hurry up and have babies so we can all be on the same wave..

Anyway ... night gals

goodmorning!

mummy7, dd is exactly the same. she is so stubborn. goes crazy when i change her nappy, its almost impossible. when i do it on the change table she hangs over the side nearly falling off. i do the same thing, say no and try hard not to laugh. and usually i take her away from whatever she is doing (usually curtains or the kitchen drawers, or more recently the nappy bin). but she definately knows her own mind. and she has just started pulling herself up to stand, its so cute cause she is so wobbly still. the car is great!! the more i drive it the more i love it. so different from my old car, and much bigger too.

by the way, dd seems to be over her grass phobia, she has sat on it twice now. and was even pulling at it. yay!

have a good day everyone!

Hey Mummy7,
lost this thread for a bit! lol, I'm up the NW coast near Burnie, have friends and family in Launie though, is a great place :-) but then I love Tassie full stop! haha

with your DS rolling when you change his nappy, when mine used to try this I would change them on the floor (on a change mat of course!) whilst I sat on the couch or chair, this way I was higher than them and I would (lightly!) place my feet on their arms so they couldn't roll.... sounds mean I know, but it doesn't hurt them and it makes nappy changing soo much easier!

ladybugblue84
12-11-2008, 12:27
Hi Girls, with the rolling over & the nappy changing thing I have read that you can try putting a sticker on the back of bub's hand to possibly distract him?!?!? Dunno if it works or not as I haven't got to that stage yet, am looking forward to it ;)

Hey mummy7 I wish I was looking for a new car, hehehe BUT I hate those hard sell salesmen wanting you to make a decision straight away. I was looking for a car before April was born & they pretty much try & force you to buy the car you show the smallest bit of interest in. It's annoying! Oh also I'm always happy when April goes to bed 'cause then I have "me" time!! hehe, is that bad!?!?

Cec my sisters bub had a phobia of pot plants! Big palms, was cute at the time. Don't know if the phobia persists though!

lapi I certainly don't think it's too much I am all for over the top if you have the money set asde for it! I love parties & birthday parties only happen once a year (for each child ;)) the kid's will have a blast & I find seeing our kids having a great time makes us have a great time too. I have started thinking about my little girls first birthday & it's not until next april! I was thinking an animal print theme & at present I haven't thought of any activities yet. laylasmumma23 hows your party planning going?

mummyjessie86 I wouldn't go back either *****yness is not fun to be around especially in your work place as essentially your just there to make money! Childcare sounds like fun.

mumalot welcome!!!

What's new with me: well I'm staying at my Dad's place (as of yesterday) as I have really had it with my partner. He has issues with keeping a job & as a result lies to me all the time & I am over it! Personally I would love to just get my own place for me & April & not have to rely on him for anything 'cause he is unreliable. I love him but enough is enough he needs to realise that him having a job is not "optional" if he wants to be able to support his family. I have left him more than a few times & gone back everytime so I think he thinks this is all an empty threat but this time I am serious. He thinks we will always be able to live under his parents house but I am over it!

Anyway enough from me gotta go put April to bed. Chat later

Hey everyone....
I am kind of going on a date tonight
He is an old friend and he is lovely but I am worried coz I have gone through so much sh!t w ds father for the past yr and it has kind of scarred me off men.
Long story short...Fob is a real psycho.. He put so much stress on me that I was almost going into labour at 20 wks preg. I ended up leaving him (w great difficulty) @ 6m preg. I had to move 3 hrs away from him for the sake of ds and my safety .. been going through the process of court proceedings etc.. in regards to fob access to ds.. I hate it but I am just trying to stay positive. Anyway enough blabbing :ecomcity: (sorry gals... just needed a lil vent)..
Wish me luck tonight. I have already caught up w him (about a wk ago) and it was really nice but I get the feeling he is really interested and I just dont know how I feel about it iykwim. I have always had a soft spot for him.. but I think I am damaged goods
Lapi... fantastic birthday party idea!!!!!!
How much fun will all the kidlets have!!! I dont think its over the top I think its perfect :yelclap:
Yesterday I posted the web site address 4 the invitations I got 4 ds's 1st birthday.. they rock!!!
Meeka2k... Cheers 4 the advice w nappy changing.
I lv lv lv Tasy as well.. wouldn't live anywhere else..
Ladybugblue.. Its not bad @ all 2 look forward to you time!!!! I think we all do hehe
R u ok w everything u r going through @ the moment. Hope so.. Take care hun :)

u guys have inspired me about planning dd's 1st birthday. ive been looking up invitations and stuff.

ladybugblue how are u going? hope things are ok and working out however you want them to :hugs:

lapi i know what u mean about getting excited over small things. but then they are so exciting. chels has just stared pulling herself up to standing = so exciting. but also, now i really have to be careful what im leaving around, so not used to that.

i had to drop off the rent money today. grr. seems so little money for so little time. oh well, thats all from me for now.

mummy7 :babydust2: Good Luck on your date!:babydust2: And thanks for sending me the link for the invites! I will check it out as soon as I have finished here.

ladybugblue84 :hugs: Stay strong! Make him realise you aren't full of empty threats and if he wants to be involved in yours and Aprils life he needs to realise that a few changes must be made! I know it's hard when love and children are involved... But it will all sort out soon enough

Well I have been full of emotions today :hair:
I only got about 3 hours sleep last night because Cooper just would not settle. He wouldn't feed, he wouldn't let me rock him off to sleep, he wouldn't put himself to sleep, he didn't have a temperature - so I was going insane! Finally rocked him off to sleep after aaaages... then this morning I was talking to mum about my night and she said "well he wouldn't of been crying for no reason!" And then it hit me! So I ran over to the mat where he was playing and felt his gums... And his 1st tooth had cut through!!!!!! Sooooo excited!

Then halfway through the day I realised we are almost halfway through November already... And next month Cooper will be meeting his dad for the 1st time ever! I'm sooooo nervous/excited/stressed about the whole thing! I'm worried he will think I'm not doing a good enough job, I'm worried he won't like Cooper and will change his mind about being involved in his life and I'm worried i am going to fall for him all over again, amongst 50million other stupid things I am thinking! I know I just have to calm down and just take every day as it comes... But I can't really help but think it all.

Sorry for all the :ecomcity: Just needed to get it all of my chest LOL.

Hope everyone is well, and having some "ME" time! It's definately that time of night for me!

WOW, the last time I was on here it was only up to like page 3.....

Anyway, I need opinions....

I have this friend name P. And she is with my cousin. And he was married before (still is married hasn't gotten a divorce) and with his ex (wife) his was abusive. Fast forward to now, I thought since being with P that he had changed but I found out that it's not the case.

I have gave her advice and everything (she has depression which doesn't help). But honestly I just cant go through this again. I have gone through something similar with another friend back in high school and it was very hard to deal with.

P just keeps defending him, saying things like that he only get abusive when he drinks, or it was her fault. I cant just sit here again and watch while this happens, she wont take my advice, I have a feeling she wont leave..

It's just getting frustrating, I really dont wont to go through all this again!!Is it selfish to think like that?

Sorry it's so long..

Sam..

Cheers 4 all ur good luck msg's gals!!! :D
I had lots of fun. We just went out 4 dinner and a cpl of drinks.. was very nice.... good food and conversation..happy days.
Cec.. I am not sure what car I am looking 4 which makes things harder when shopping ... either a small sedan or 4dr hatch is all I know w all the features I am after. My aim is to try to have my new wheels by xmas.. will let you know how I go.
Mummyjessie86.. How did u go w the site?
I cant imagine how you must be feeling about fob situation.. must be feeling a zillion emotions all at once.. I am sure he will love Cooper.. its his beautiful son...
I have a slightly different situation as ds has seen his father about a dozen times in the first month of his life.. But hasn't seen him 4 the past 10m and nxt month his supervised access visits start and it makes me feel sick to the stomach w emotion. :ecomcity: anyway..enough blabbing from me..
Sambol13.. Ur not being selfish. I have been in a similar situation to you and also a victim of physical abuse myself. It is so hard watching someone you care about allow themselves to be abused.. it is horrible. Is there someone else you could reach out to that may be able to get through to her? sending you.. :hugs:

Have a fantastic day lovely ladies x

Hey ladies!
i soooo cant keep up with this thread.... do you girls ever shut up??? ha ha ha Just kidding :D
I have a Q's for you all with regards to what to do before Christmas....- what should i do with all the old toys???
she hardly even plays with alot of her stuff cos she just has too much!! and I know if I ever have another child it would get its own stuff anyway, Im a total hoarder so its hard for me to throw stuff away......
her B'day and Christmas are only 2 days apart so I have to do something NOW! before my house gets over run by toys(it kinda already is):o

Hey girlies, my party planning is going good...decided to get an ice cream cake for bubs from cold rock mmmmmmm cold rock *drools*...and i got her one of those lil fairy outfits from cotton on...so totally cute..

mummy7 - glad you had fun on ur date...maybe i should wish you luck for your second date..*giggles* or maybe not? lol i went on the website to for invite ideas...thinking about gettin magnet invites for bubby's b'day...very handy and unique! :D

mummyjessie: oooo your first tooth, its exciting at first until they wake up as soon as the teething gel wears off..im pretty cec will tell you the same thing lol yay for sleep deprevation!! About the FOB...its his son..why wouldn't it be love at first sight? you shouldn't worry about him not thinking your doing a good job, i dont know your whole story, but he doesn't really have the right to judge that when your doing it on your own!.

sambo13: i wish i could offer advice, but i have never been in an abusive relationship situation. I think maybe she needs to work it out on her own? you have given all the advice you can all you can do is be there when she realises it?...sorry..wish i could be more help..

Bessiboo: EBAY EBAY EBAY! lol...im in the same situation with clothes that dont fit bubs..im kinda wondering "do i hang onto em in case i have another baby"...spose clothes are a lil different to toys..as toys dont really go outta style...hence the bringing back of all my old skool faves like carebears!!!
Or if your feeling giving you could try and give them to a childcare centre or a playgroup or the salvo's..donate them to a christmas appeal or something with familes that cant afford toys. I know in adelaide they have a giant chrissy tree where ppl make donations of toys and food and blankets and stuff for familes in need. i dunno just a suggestion.

Cec: hows your new car? loving the new car smell? lol i was going to wash my car 2day...but the weather man predicted rain!..even thinking about washing my car brings on the rain clouds LOL

hey to all the other girlies i haven't talked to individually! lol its so hard to keep up now..i dont come on for a day and there's an extra page LOL..
apart from bubhub my other addiction is facebook..does any1 else suffer from this? totally spaced out by the ppl you find on there, ppl from primary school i haven't seen in like years..anyways enuff dribble from me :)
catch ya lataz...*hugs*

well im devastated! i was just writing this huge long reply and i pressed the wrong button and lost my reply. grr. now ill try remember it all again...

sambo13 - i dont think ur being selfish, i have never been in that situation so i cant imagine, but u sound like u have tried ur best to help her but she isnt in a position to accept it? i agree with mummy7, is their anyone u could talk to or something?

mummy7 - thats great about ur date. do u think u will see him again?

mummyjessie - im sure he wouldnt think u are doing a bad job cause u def dont sound like ur doing a bad job, im sure ur a great mummy to cooper. and if he does think that then boo! its not easy to bring up a baby, let alone by urself.

bessiboo - im am the same (a hoarder). i have been meaning to seperate her toys in to boxes and then rotate the boxes so she gets a small amount of toys to play with at a time, she has so many and she hardly ever plays with them. but the whole boxes thing takes organisational skills that i dont have right now.

laylasmumma - i always have a facebook and a bubhub page open at the same time (sometimes im shocked by my addictions). i love to stalk people that u dont really see anymore  the car is great! it was owned by a lady who didnt drive that much and its only 5yrs old, so luckily it still has the new car smell which i love!

ladybugblue - good on u for taking a stand! i think all boys take longer to grow up then us when it comes to parenting. hopefully he will realise what he is missing out on and change himself for the better. i think u have done the right thing :hugs:

sorry that this is so long but i just wanted to ask do ur kids go thru phases of being really good, and then bad? well, chels is so good at the moment, in terms of sleeping anyway. sleeping is what i struggled with most. when she was born till when she was around 6months she never ever went to sleep before 2am. then we moved out to our own place (and maybe cause i was less stressed) she was going to sleep at 10. but now, she is so cranky by 5.30 and is bathed fed and asleep by 8. this is heaven for me to have my own time at night and im so proud of her!

one more question then i swear ill shut up :ecomcity:
how long after ur babies stood/pulled themselves up did they walk?

hope i didnt bore u all too much. xo

sambo13

mummy7 My friend from high school, i am still in contact with. I have ask her next time she is in town (she lives 3hours away) if she could speak to P and she said she would. So now I just have to wait it out until she is in town and hopefully it will help..

Bessieboo It sounds like my house. Unless a toy is broken, it doesnt go anywhere. In my sons room there are 2 big toyboxes, 3 boxes of toys. In my daughters room there are 3 boxes of toys. I know I have to get rid of them eventually but I just cant coz they are still in really good condition. But when i do i'm thinking i might give them to someone who has kids and cant afford alot of toys IYKWIM.

cecandchels My kids always have their moments where they are good then bad. It's like the calm before the storm.
My son was up walking around by 9months.
But my daughter took longer, she only started crawling around 9months. Then about 13months old i think she started to walk.
But every child is different and sometimes they just want to go at their own pace (like my daughter)...

Well, my mum is going to start finally getting treatment for her cancer. After the doctors taking their sweet time. Now once she gets treatment hopefully it will make her a little bit better, and live alittle longer.

talk again soon.

Sam.

Thanks for the tips so far girls, it helps, just have to make myself 'let go' that my girl isnt a baby anymore!!!

one more question then i swear ill shut up :ecomcity:
how long after ur babies stood/pulled themselves up did they walk?

My DD was pulling herself up at 5.5 months, and crawling, then didn't walk til she was nearly one!!, but cruised the furniture for ages which was a bit scary if she had a tumble(sharp corners etc) so a walker was our saviour it had guards etc so she couldnt go off the edges of doorways and that aswell.

I have a Q's for you all with regards to what to do before Christmas....- what should i do with all the old toys???

Bessieboo: If there are some toys you didn't really want money for, I know the Department of Child Safety would love donations? The foster parents loan them from the department if they have a child come into their care that they don't have age appropriate toys for, rather than buying toys if they are only on a short-term placement.

But hasn't seen him 4 the past 10m and nxt month his supervised access visits start and it makes me feel sick to the stomach w emotion. anyway..enough blabbing from me..

mummy7: I had a look at the site! There is some beautiful stuff on there! I found an invite I want to use for Cooper's Baptism next year :). I think it would be harder to see my child in the first few months and then not for ages and then see how much I had missed out on... Who knows what these men feel... Sometimes I think they feel as empty as the look they are giving you! I do hope FOB realises how much of Coopers life he has missed. But only time will tell i guess

mummyjessie: oooo your first tooth, its exciting at first until they wake up as soon as the teething gel wears off..im pretty cec will tell you the same thing lol yay for sleep deprevation!! About the FOB...its his son..why wouldn't it be love at first sight? you shouldn't worry about him not thinking your doing a good job, i dont know your whole story, but he doesn't really have the right to judge that when your doing it on your own!

laylasmumma23: I am soo excited about his tooth! The top of the tooth has fully broken through the skin now (from what I can feel anyway!) Its more of a sharp line istead of a sharp point like it was yesterday... If that makes any sense? LOL. I have been giving him nurofen during the night if he is restless, but tomorrow i am going to get some sm33 and the teething tablets and lollipops everyone keeps talking about LOL. So hopefully i can use those 2 things instead of the nurofen. I don't like to use nurofen too much, unless it is absolutely necessary LOL. I have bonjela... but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I am pretty sure he will fall in love with Cooper as soon as he sees him... He is soooo damn gorgeous! :p
You aren't alone on the Facebook addiction! I am ALWAYS on there! Even more than Bubhub! Haha. I love checking out everyones photos... I'm such a busy body!

Hello to all the other mummies!!

Was wondering if you girls might be able to help?

Cooper is still waking once or twice a night and i can't seem to get him to sleep through! I also tried controlled crying a few weeks ago and now that this tooth has come through he is all out of whack because i haven't been able to get him to go to sleep without rocking him.

Does anyone have any tips for me? I am finding it so draining to be getting up everytime he wakes up and sometimes being awake for 1 1/2hrs trying to get him back to sleep! Its the only thing i find hard about being a single mum, there is no one to take turns with in the middle of the night!

Ok, I think I have said enough for one post LOL

Hey jessie,
dont worry even if your coupled up doesnt always mean the other half gets up through the night...
as for sleep hmm it could be a number of things your little guy is still young, so its a tricky one... I would just put him into bed with you if it gets too exhausting plus cuddles are so nice when they are little!, maybe give him an extra feed or a little bit exta solids at night, it could just be the teething or even a growth spurt.. or maybe he is testing you :D
sorry not much help, goodluck with it! oh and congrats on the tooth, they grow so fast dont they!!

Morning lovely ladies....

So..... The goss on my date....
Nothing "happended" iykwim ... but it was really nice and yes I think we will be hanging out again next week :). He is a gorgeous guy... known eachother since we were lil kids. I have always had the hugest soft spot 4 him. But because of all my BAD luck w men I think I am scarred of falling for him.... Will keep you all posted...

Laylasmumma... I got the personalised photo invites w magnets for ds's birthday.. unique indeed and a lovely keepsake. I am addicted to fb as well. It is so funny the ppl you run into on there hehe. I was so.. excited the other day when an old school friend (who is now in Hollywood) requested me as a friend.. exciting hehe.. Its great to be able to stay intouch w ppl all round the world. I lv seeing everyones photos.
Sambo13... That is great that your friend is going to have a talk to p. Its the most you can do hun. She can take it or leave it and even if she stays w him at least she knows you care and hopefully the red flag will be a little clearer for her. Unfortunately there is only one person that can get her away from the abuse and it is her. All you can do is be there for her. And if it gets too hard being there for her as it hurts you to see her put herself through the abuse again and again.. then sometimes it is a gd thing to distance yourself from the situation (bitter sweet). Its not being selfish at all... sounds like you have enough on your plate already. Hope all goes well w ur friend having a talk to p.
Also really gd news about your mum's treatment :hugs:
Mummyjessie86... I am glad you loved the site. Congrats on the tooth.. its so exciting hey.. I know it will be hard for fob when he starts seeing ds but I feel worried more than anything about it all because fob has drug probs and I dont think he is very fit to be a part of ds life until he gets help. At least all his visits are supervised though. It is hard to know what to do about Cooper's sleeping. I know when ds is teething he is completely out of wack and there is alot of night waking and he just wants cuddles. It also happens when he has growth spurts. What time do you put him to bed? How much daily sleep does he have? What time do you give him his last feed and does he eat his solids well?
Kath87... Hello and welcome.. of course you can join our thread.. we would LOVE 2 have another mama on board
That is so.. exciting you are ttc #2
Look forward to getting to know you. You will find all the gals in this thread are lovely.

hey girls!
it is so so hot today in syd, 35 degrees. im dying, i dont do so well in heat. and we live on the top floor of a unit block with direct afternoon sun so it can get like a sauna. but i can see some storm clouds gathering - bring on the rain! then again, maybe dont rain as i just put on fake tan...
so im going up the coast this weekend to a farewell party. i dont know if im excited or dreading it. i dont drink like i used to and all my friends do so im never sure if ill enjoy it. i usually do but im always so sceptical u know? dp gets so annoyed at me cause im never want to go out. heading to the beach the day after so it will be the first time i will be in a bikini for ages cause i didnt wear one last summer due to being 8-9 months pregnant. scary.

mummyjessie im not a single parent but dp has never gotten up during the night (his excuse is he has to work, but he doesnt work weekends = slacker) so anyway. i know how u feel. chels still wakes sometimes in the night, i usually just feed her till she is asleep. but i thnk lately if she wakes up i turn the monitor off and fall back to sleep. i normally intend to go into her but before i know it, im asleep again. she seems to be fine in the morning so she must go back to sleep too. sometimes i dont even remember waking up, but in the morning the monitor is off

sambo13 thats so great about ur mum starting treatment, i hope it goes well and she is ok. that must be so hard for u guys, so big :hugs:

well, have a great weekend everyone!!

At the moment I do have quite alot on my plate...I'm a stay at home mum, I do all the cooking cleaning, washing, looking after the kids and I'm doing a course aswell. And trying to be there for my mum, like clean her house, getting things for her (from the shops) etc.
Also I will going for my P's very soon so I'm am trying to get more driving done.

At times I just feel like crawling in a hole and hide away from everything for awhile...

well im devastated! i was just writing this huge long reply and i pressed the wrong button and lost my reply. grr. now ill try remember it all again...

ARRGGG I lost my long thread last night too. I had a spare hour so thought I'd be smart & reply to everyone but I pressed submit & GONE! How frustrating! (hehe) April woke up & I had to go. I'm a bit disheartend so will only do a short thread!

First of all I wanted to admit that I too am a Facebook addict! Check it about 2-3 times a day, haha.

ladybugblue:i think your doing the right thing it is important for him to support you and april and needs to know that my hubby was the same thankfully he grew up finally and we are great now so there may be hope he can change but i would definently get own place just sign a 6 month lease and reacess the situation then. good luck

Lapi thanks for the positive feedback as that is essentially what I am hoping to happen, that something will click in his head & all of a sudden he has all of this motivation to really better our lives not just be stuck in this rut which we seem to be in. Thanks everyone for your feedback too, I really do need to get out & really show him I'm not full of empty threats. I just want to show him who is boss - ME!!!! :D

laylasmumma23 just wanted to say YUUUUMMMMMY!!!! And your little girl will look adorable in her fairy outfit!b Are there many other littlies coming?

Sambo13 just wanted to wish you & your family the best of luck with regards to your mums cancer & treatment hopefully it all goes exceptionally well! I was in a similar situation last year when my mum had cancer but unfortunately she lost her battle it was & still is very very difficult. Eliminate any problems that are not your own (i.e. your cousin & his girlfriend) as I am sure you already have enough on your plate as it is!

To everyone else have a great weekend & welcome to Kath87! Chat later

hello all.
so the weekend went well. we went up the coast for a farewell party and dp's mum looked after chels in her unit not to far from the party. she was great. she kept an ear out for her all night and in the morning gave her breakfast played with her and took her for a walk so me and dp could sleep in. we am so lucky to have her!

dp is going for a job interview today, he really wants to quit his job that he has at the moment, its really boring. so i really hope he goes well (sure he will).

not much else news from me, except i just got a whole heap of tupperware which is exciting. ha ha. i swear if someone has told me a couple of yrs ago that i would be excited about tupperware i would not have believed them.

well hi to all the newbies and welcome!

how was everyones weekend? what did u get up to?

17-11-2008, 13:22
:iagree:about Tupperware! I used to cringe when people invited me to parties... Now, I am hosting a party on Wednesday!! I think its a combination of getting older and having kids that does it to you!

Rosie: Thanks! :D I am going to google it to learn some more. I'm a google freak :p

I think its a combination of age and children..

Household appliances get me excited, I was so happy about the arrival of our new washing machine!

Couldnt wait to try out my new vacuum when I got one either  I am a weirdo! lol

We finally got my step son this weekend, even if it was for a very short stint, we went swimming and had a little picnic.. then the storm hit so we timed it pretty well!!

Hey all!

Lapi - no I didn't think your post was harsh at all it was good to hear your story as you have been in a simliar situation. Glad that your situation turned out for the good.

I was silly & went back for the weekend which just made matters worse not better so I really need to focus on staying put here at my dads. It just stinks that I have to be the one to always leave with the baby & leave all our things (beds/cot/change table etc) & he gets to stay all comfy when he's in the wrong. Another good reason why I need to get my own place!

Hi Rosie & welcome! I have a little girl around the same age as your little girl. Her names April & she was born on the 19th of April so 7 months in 2 days (time has flown soooo quickly). She's not quite crawling yet but going backwards really good! ;)

mummyjessie don't you HATE that!!! Good to hear you had a great night out they are few & far between these days. My last good ones where my sisters hens night & my sisters wedding (Oct & Nov). She's now pregnant again so she's out for a while on the party front! Might have to check out the nights out that get organised on here

cec sounds like you had a great weekend! I already mentioned what I did above so nothing too special  & believe me I have been fantasizing about all the things I am going to have at my own place when I get one & tupperware is on the top of my list along with other daggy things like a spice rack! Oh I can't wait :D

NeonPink just wanted to say hey! I live near you at the moment - staying with my dad - but will prob look for a unit around Edens Landing or Bethania when I can start looking for a place for myself & bub!

Anyway girls nice to catch up with you all & I hope I don't loose this when I press submit! hehe

Hey mummy7 good luck for your next date ;) how exciting! Your poor little son sounds like he is having a tough time with his teething! My little girl hasn't started teething yet she's 7 months so might start soon (when did your little man start?). It sounds as bad as they say it is  I was thinking of getting her one of those teething necklaces - they prob don't work but they look sorta cute & I am willing to try anything when the time comes!

Hi Girls,
Hope its not to late for me to join. This thread was just so interesting and fun :) I live in Tassie, kinda new to the place but I'm liking it. I'm 23 and my DS is 13 months, he was born 4 days before my birthday, he was due on the 1st of October and was forced out on the 10th. I wasnt into sharing my birthday, so that was the closest he could get :D

Im a SAHM and loving it! I am going to go back to uni next year but Im going to do it by correspondence so i can still look after DS.

My DS had 4 teeth come at once!! He got his bottom teeth along with two top ones and that was at about 7 months, now he has 12 teeth! Wish i could name which ones they are but im not a dentist and Im afraid i would confuse you all
Thats about it from me, looking forward to chatting to you all :)

hi again, and welcome jesse07 and jaludcke86!! jesse07 what are u studying next yr? and daludcke my cousins are from gympie and i have been there many times (yrs ago now tho). there are so many of us now, its awesome. but i really have a hard time trying to keep up. i have to keep going back and re-reading things.

so i am totally in love with the tupperware. mummyjessie i hosted one a couple of weeks ago and got plenty of free stuff. literally i only spent 21.95 (snack cups) and i got 2 big salad bowls and a picnic set worth $260 for free. the ppl at my party went crazy, they spent $1300 all up. esp my mum who spent $400 cause she really wanted me to have the picnic set  but it was a suprisingly good afternoon, much better then i expected.

mummy7 ur wk sounds good. i love catching up with my sis or any fam for that matter. im from a kind of big family 1 sis and 4 brothers so i love when we are all together.

rosie my whole week is spent cleaning! i have a huge load of washing to do tomorrow, not looking forward to that at all

just a shortie tonight im going to watch dexter now before i go to sleep - prob why i have nightmares but whatev. chat soon!

mummy7: Good Luck on your next date!

ladybugblue84: Cooper would never be good with those teething necklaces... He would constantly be pulling at it... He pulls at his shirt all day long as it is LOL. I use sm33, Brauer's teething relief and the teething tablets (forget the name). If he is still not settling after all that then I will give him a dose of nurofen. I would rather use the natural stuff first though.
It was good to get out and get dressed up and hang out with the girls, but I do not miss it one bit! Drunk boys trying to hit on you and they can't string two words together let alone stand straight and hold onto their drink!

Have to get going, I need some sleep!! Hello to all the newbies!!

Loving these new christmas smilies!

Its my b'day 2day and god i feel old! im 24 today!..eeek! need a granny scooter lol trying to get dp to do all the nappies, but im fighting a losing battle even on my b'day...arr well!

mummy7: my bubby started teething when she was 9 months she only has her two bottoms ones tho, i use this fabo stuff called mouth paint, i dunno that u can get it anywhere but adelaide tho...but bonjela or numbing creams are really good..sumtimes even a zooper dooper to munch on (in the packet of course) works really good! then there's the rusks/ bread sticks.
Have fun on your date :D hope you have lots of fun!

1sttimemum: wow you have already got a name picked out!!...i had drama's with my bubby's name. I was in love with the name imogen rose, but when she was born she looked nothing like an imogen...so i went with layla grace...long story short, thanks to the family my bubby went without a name for 4 days of her life. drama drama drama!!

cec: tupperware excites you? LOL ok well im glad im not quite in that stage of mummydom! lol altho when i got a new vacume cleaner and microwave..i was dying to use them :) i hafta vacume all the time now that bubby is mobile...there is toast and biccies everywhere!!

i feel like i should say sumfin to all of you, and i probably could if i went back about 4 pages...LOL i really should up my dosage of bub hubbing!

anways ladies im off to spend $100 on clothes..woo hoo for b'day money!!

Hi
and thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Cecandchels I'm studying Accouting and yes it is as boring as it sounds!! Weird thing is i get a bit of a kick balancing numbers, i think it has something to do with me being a libran, i like everything to balance and i'm absolutely hopeless at making decisions. My best friend is born the day before me and is exactly the same, it takes us forever to decided where we should have a coffee or go for lunch lol

mummy7 good luck with the boy:fingerscrossed: and toes

laylasmum23 exact same thing with the vacuming, DS gets crumbs and crust and whatever else on the floor and its a full time job vacuming!! might have to invest in one of those little handheld ones so i can just do a quick vacum after each feed haha. Even though i do vacum almost everyday DS still manages to find crusts and half eaten bikkies to chew on, he must have some secret stash i dont know of! how did the cloths shopping go?

laylasmumma HAPPY BIRTHDAY :yelclap: what did u end up getting with ur hundred? i know its sad about the tupperware... but u should see this picnic set - its awesome! and so pretty.

jesse07 im going back to uni next yr also, to finish off my nursing degree and im really not looking forward to it. all my friends from the course are graduating now. boo. but i just want it to be over and working, although it will be more study for me as i want to be a midwife. i think ill find it so hard to leave chels at home, even if it is with dp's mum.

sounds like a few of us are going thru the teething stage, i tried to put chels down for her morning nap this morn and after 2 hours of trying and her getting frustrated i gave up. but luckily she slept for about 40mins in the car. i hope she is feeling better tomorrow, poor lass.

kirsten i used to have the shape-0 ball when i was little, i was going to buy it again for chels but mum bought something similar so i gave it a miss. classic toy tho.

hope everyone had an excellent day! talk to u all soon.

Happy birthday Laylas mumma :flowerz:
Hope you had a fabulous day and had fun spending ur $$.
1st time mum.. I had ds's name picked out from when I was about 22 wks preg.. I was so.. worried the name wouldn't suit him because I had no other names picked aarghh.. but luckily it was perfect  Maybe because I had been calling him by name even when he was in my tummy I had already made the association (if that makes sense??)
Jesse07.. So funny how you say you find it hard to make decisions as you are a libran.. I am on the cusp of libra and scorpio and although I do not follow astrology very much. I def see my traits and indecisiveness is a very strong and frustrating one thanks to the libran in me  but occasionally my scorpio sting comes out to play lol..

Hope every1 had a great day :)
Today I actually had a cpl of hrs to myself while mum looked after ds. I decided to go shopping and I did not even really enjoy it arghhh.... had to force myself to stop heading into pumpkin patch and other baby stores....is this normal? I used to lv lv lv lv shopping 4 myself. I was clothes mad.. managed dotti for ages and was crazy about fashion. I still lv it but shopping is so much more fun when I shop 4 ds hehe

1sttimemum Not long to go now! How exciting! I wish i was having another baby! I remember how exciting it was packing my hospital bag and packing all the tiny clothes into the drawers.:crying:

mummy7 My mum will often take DS for me to give me a bit of time to myself! They're fantastic aren't they! LOL. I am the same with the shopping... Its so much easier to buy for bub because there is no trying on etc. You just pick it up and you know it will fit, and it's generally that little bit cheaper too! LOL.

sethandruby'smum Hope your shoulder gets better soon! I did something to my hand a while back and I have days when i can't use it at all... I know exactly how you feel! You just don't realise how much you need certain part sof your body until you can't use it! LOL.

 to all the other beautiful mumma's in here :D

I had my Tupperware party today. Did pretty well. I can't wait til i get my order in 2 weeks!

So jealous of all those vacuuming!! My brother borrowed my vacuum 3 weeks ago, has been here every sunday since, and still hasn't returned it! I am going crazy! I only have Lino in my lil unit, but sweeping and mopping is just not cutting it! I need my vacuum! LOL.

Well I better get going... DS sounds like he is waking!

Chat to all you beautiful ladies soon :)

Had a text fight :o with XDH today, then he tried to suck up to me ' il always love you, your my best mate' etc what a load of Bollocks :banghead: you certainly didn't show it very often t*sser!!! so then i went and did some retail therapy!
I went and got myself a new top & sandals, totally guilt free(which i would have never been able to do at all or atleast without 'permission' before) the top was 60% off too woo yeah!!

hi ladies, my name is Kylie and I am 22. I live on the beautiful Gold Coast with my df and gorgeous son Gizaiah is celebrated his 9mth birthday yesterday. thats what I love about being a mum we get to celebrate all these dorkie little things. We even had a 1mth bday party with all our family.

well chrissy is just around the corner. Im very organized this christmas. First time ever. Due to get my babys prezzies off layby next wk. Cant wait. Spend the afternoon wrapping presents. Trying to do so much at the moment. Plan christmas then my sons first birthday which we are going all out for and booking the local park and having a big carnival party with the whole works. Sure to set us back a bit. But I just wanna do all this stuff before we have to many kids  We also have our wedding in April 2010, so we have everything happening at the moment.

I am a proud SAHM (I say this as my son crys in my ear. Mixture of tiredness, teething and an earache. Lucky me aye my df had to do overtime tonight, so Im left at it on my own)

Anyway Im going to study next year. Booked into Griffith university. Going to do my degree in psychology fulltime. Finding it really hard to have to put my son in daycare. Ive been told to try and send him one day a week now, but I just cant. I think Im going to be one of those annoying mums haha,...

look forward to chatting to yous all ladies

stop heading into pumpkin patch and other baby stores....is this normal? I used to lv lv lv lv shopping 4 myself. I was clothes mad.. managed dotti for ages and was crazy about fashion. I still lv it but shopping is so much more fun when I shop 4 ds hehe
Night

so funny that you say that. I was thinking the exact same thing. I hate shopping for myself so I just never do it, but with ds I just go mad. I found out I was pregnant when I ws 3wks 2days and I bought all his clothes right up to size 1, but i still manage to find stuff to get. Crazy I know. Your with them you shop your without them and you feel guilty and shop. Yip thats me. Im glad its normal I was starting to question myself

Ds has been teething so.. badly. His 8th tooth is just about to cut and it is causing him so much grief.. poor lil man. Hoping after this one is through he will have a break b4 his mollers aaarghhhh.. dreading the mollers
lol

poor thing. my son is 9mths old and has been teething for 6mths but still no teeth. I tried everything under the sun, but nothing gave me long lasting relief. After getting recommendations off bubhub to use hyland eething tablets, so I gave them a crack and they give Gizaiah so much relief he is finally back to sleeping right thru the night. It is great and cheap to. All natural, which is good Im sick of filling my son up with drugs that seem to do nothing. If you try them out let me know how you go

Ds's tooth has finally cut yay :smiliedance:.. we now have 8 teeth Also i got my invitations in the mail today for ds birthday and I am so happy w them.. they look fantastic.. highly recommend www.invitinginvitations.com.au (http://www.invitinginvitations.com.au) Its hard to keep track now there are so many of us..

It makes the reality set in hey.. packing bubs tiny things and all that jazz. I remember getting to the stage (in my third tri) where I felt like I was going to b preg 4eva lol so it was gr8 packing everything ready to meet bub. Not long to go now...

BabyGizaiah..Hello and welcome!!! I know what you mean about putting ur ds in child care.. It is really hard. My ds goes to child care once a week when i go to work and it breaks my heart.. but he is ok.. he seems to have fun socialising w the other bub's. I put ds in care once a wk for a month prior to going bk to work so he could get used to it (and me too). I am picking up my chrissy layby's too!! cant wait to wrap them and put them under the tree. I am so excited about :xmastree: I got ds a lil santa suit and hat all ready for the big day hehe.. Your ds b'day party sounds like it is going to be awesome. I was also studying psych at uni prior to having ds. Dont know if I will return...but loved it!! I read about the hyland teething tablets and thought about giving them a go.. but then i read some mum's post saying how they reacted badly w her son and I was scarred off.. Ur ds was fine w them. not drowsy the following day? Anyway look 4ward to getting to know you.

how old is your son? my son is so clingy and I just fill like he might not get the attention he needs at daycare. i dont know im probably being paranoid, but Im finding it really hard. He also is familiar with strangers so I dont know how this will work. How old was ds when you first put him in daycare, because I know how much I go on about it I have to do it.

I got him 2 xmas outfits as well. We are having an early xmas with my immediate family onthe 20th, because my sister is heading to hamilton island and my mum will be working. So I got him a santa outfit and then for our xmas I got him a summer xmas jumpsuit with bib very cute.

teething tablets:yeah I read the forum, but after all the research I did it was only one mum I found where her baby didnt respond to it well. But I guess that is to be expected somewhere along the way. It is a naturopath option which I am all for. I did try the brauer teething relief, but I found with everything I used it just wasnt giving him enough relieft during the night. If you are worried I would suggest seeing your doctor or the pharmacy about it, but it works for me and I absolutely love them. I have been up during the night constantly and then @ 8.5mths we found a cure yay. Now he sleeps like baby (besides the fact he hads an ear infection from swimming classes, but its getting better)

but yeah if you decide to use it let me know how you go. I will be checking out that website to. My cousin (gizaiah's godmother is designing some invitations. ideas were either a pass type invite or wristband. see how they come along)

have a good day ladies

goodmorning guys.

i hope all u brissy girls are going ok and ur not too affected by the storms!

mummy7 i love sitting inside and listening to the rain. it was raining here last night as i went to sleep - so nice. also, thats exciting about getting the invitations. i cant decide whether to order them off the net or design them myself and just print them at home. i would but i cant work out how big to make them cause i sont want them folded and bla bla bla. i think i cant be bothered and will just order them. dp gave me some money today just for nothing which i think i might use on invitations. i love reading all these posts about planning christmas and birthdays, it makes me so excited even tho i havent started to do anything and i know im running out of time. oops.

hello babygiziah! i know what u mean about putting ur baby into day care. im going back to uni next yr too and even tho my dp's mum will be looking after her, i still dont want to leave her. i think its just for selfish reasons cause i dont want anyone else to have her but me

mummyjessie im glad to hear ur tupperware party went well. what did u end up buying? and what free stuff did u get?

sethandrubysmum how is ur shoulder going? and i hope ur dd's teething isnt too troubling.

lilpixie&me i love a good dose of retail therapy. back before dd whenever i had a bad day or something i always did it, and i swear its the perfect cure for a bad mood, excpet of course if u make a bad purchase...

1sttimemum i agree with the others, having ur bag packed is so exciting. i think i had mine pack so early. and then i just kept looking in it. im kind of jealous of u! i also used to get out all the baby clothes i had been given and me and my sister would just look at them - used to get me so excited!

hello to everyone else and i hope ur all going well!!

think i am going xmas/birthday shopping for dd this weekend. woohoo! i cant wait to wrap them all up and put them in her santa sack.
do u guys only give presents from santa? or are there presents from mum and dad too? dp's family only ever got santa presents but we got some from mum and dad too. dp wants only to give santa ones, but i think its good to have presents from mum and dad too - plus i want too. getting presents off mum and dad was always so special, esp if dad had bought them (cause he rarely did ). anyways, just wondering what everyones tradtions for xmas are??

Hi,

I thought I would join this thread. I'm more towards the end of my 20's but I'm still in my 20's none the less. :D

My name is Morgan and I have my partner of 7 years Jayson and my son Rohan. #2 is due in June next year.

I live in WA in the country in a little seaside town called Hopetoun. I have lived here for just over 2 years.

My partner works out at the BHP nickel mine and Rohan is in his last weeks of Pre-Primary.

Hi every1..
Hope you are all having a gd day so far. Went on my 3rd date last night. It was really really nice. Just dinner.. very chilled out. He told me he was interested aaarghhhhhh.. Dont know what i wan2 do. I really like him but I dont know if I am ready to risk trusting a man after ds dad. But then again.. I am intersted and think he could be gd 4 me... so I am feeling a bit confused... Life is so much easier wout worrying about men haha..HELP
Babygizaiah.. Ds is almost 11 months old now. He first started going to care when he was 7 and a half months old. Ds has had sep anxiety since he was 2months old which had me very worried and anxious about child care. He is also not used to strangers although w time he slowly settled in. He always cries so much when I drop him off and cries w joy when he sees me to pick him up.. but when I peep through the nursery window just b4 I collect him @ the end of the day I can see he is having fun w all the other bubs  I feel it has been gd for him socially. It is hard but I only put him in once a week... full time would be too hard 4 me to do... would miss him too much. Was going to study nxt yr but have postponed it to the following yr. I am also lucky as the centre ds attends has three babies to one carer which is less than most other centres so he gets all the attention he needs. They r fantastic w him. I looked in2 the teething relief and noone sells it here aaarghhhh
Cec.. Firstly wanted to say.. wow... look at what you have started w this thred.. it is going off :yelclap:W xmas I always got pressies from mum and dad 2 (think it is special that way). Let me know how you go w ur invites hun.
1sttimemum09..Cant wait to hear your motherhood stories once u have bub :)

Hey there 20 something mummys

I thought I would introduce myself too.

My name is Mel, im 23 (almost 24) and I have a cheeky lil 14 month old son called Seth. My lil man is also quite independent but has a prominent cheeky side to him. He is soon to be a big bro with his lil bro/sis due in May.

Hope to get to know you all also! :flowerz:

Oh btw xlouxloux is my bestie :D

Mel - absolutly love the new nick hehe cracks me up everytime i see it :D and yay for u starting talking in here!

Mummy7 - dont know ur full story but as for not knowing what to do, i think inside ull know when ur ready, if u like his company and feel comfortable around him id say keep going out on dates and see where it goes...maybe ull slowely start to trust him without even knowing ? its definatly a hard decision to make though

Ixnay - heyhey! Im from WA too, not quite sure where hopetown is though, up or down? how far away from Perth?

cecandchels - For xmas i used to get 1 larger present from my parents then some smaller stocking filler type ones from santa. So im doing the same for my dd think i may have gone a tad overboard though
Im going back to uni next yr too! just found out yesterday ill be there 3 nights a week 530-830 so im pretty happy

babygizaiah - ive heard of so many babies going through seperation anxiety around 9 months, they become very clingy and if they were sleeping through often they start waking again. Have u asked if ur boys happy during the day at daycare? it might be that when hes around u he is just clingy cos ur there? (hope that makes sense i havent read very far back so i dont know the full story hehe)

Sorry best dash bubs is taking awhile to settle tonight! think its cos the washing mashine is still on

Big hellos to everyone i missed!

Hi everyone  especially all the new girlies!!!

Mummy7 So glad to hear ur date went well. Just keep taking things slow, theres no need to rush, dont let him rush you either, u have to remember to think about you even if it does sound selfish. over time the trust will grow, but dont worry about that now, just make sure ur having a fun time :D

Cec I use to get lots of pressies off my parents and then usually just a few little presents off santa, i think my santa was a bit stingy but then again there were 5 of us

In regards to separation anxiety, i think my ds is the opposite, i think he gets sick of seeing and especially hearing me. 'No' is my most common word for the day, he definitely knows how to test me

Hi babygizaiah
I'm going back to uni next year too, doing accounting (boo) but i'm doing it by correspondence so i dont have to leave the house, which is going to have to involve a hell of a lot of motivation! I'm also engaged and looking towards planning my wedding? How far are u with ur plans? I havent even choosen a date or even a location!

Nothing interesting has been going down here ( besides the fact that i sliced open my finger cutting sweet potato, it hurt so much i cried and i cant remember the last time i did that) i am having the hardest time trying to decide wat to buy ds for chrissie. Yes ok i will admit it, im one of those ppl that leaves my pressie shopping to the last minute, yep finished my shopping 4pm xmas eve last year :o And every year i always tell myself 'this is the last time i do this' Anyone have and ideas wat to get a 13month old? My ds favourite toy at the moment is the tv remote

Oh yes and i'm very excited, i booked my flights to syd, I'm going to see Billy Joel with some friends. I'm going to be away for 2 nights which will be soooooo hard but at the same time i really need the break. think it will help refresh me for christmas :hair:

HI, haven't been on here in a while.

Hi to all the newbies...

My life....well....anyone wanna swap?

Firstly my mum is going for radition soon in melbourne. She will be down there for 6weeks, which means she wil miss christmas.

Hubby got told that the rig he is on (he works in a mine) is shutting down. Some people they will keep on. Some people will get transferred to other mines. And some will be sacked. And we wont know what whats happening until about the end of the month.

And lastly, hubbys brother told us last night that his girlfriend is pregnant (they are both 19yrs old). And he expects me to give them my baby stuf to keep, not to borrow. The thing thats gets to me is that hubbys side of the family only visits or calls when they want something.

They say everything comes in 3's so hopefully I wont be getting anymore 'news'...

Talk again soon...

Hopetoun is 2 hours from Esperance and 4 hours from Albany and it's a seaside town.

It's about 500 or so km from Perth.

Hey ladies..how is everyone? thanks for all the b'day wishes :D i had a great day, spent all but $12 of my $100 on clothes of course lol
Far out there are so many newbies *hugs all round*

Jess07:i hear ya bout getting a hand held vac, i had to clean the entire house today there was so many crumbs we were getting ants! i reckon she has a secret stash as well...sneaky lil bubba!..That was a clever thing to do cutting your finger, a wiggles band aid and a lolly pop will make it feel all better LOL.
Im the same with leaving xmas shopping to the last minute..i seem to function better under pressure...dunno why *shrugs* as for getting your 13 month old a pressie..hmmm he likes buttons...maybe a toy phone or camera or one of those toys that pops up when u push a button..fisher price has an awesome website that has heaps of ideas.
Have a blast in sydney as well :)..well deserved break.

Cec: My parents always gave us pressies, as well as some from "santa"..we have stockings with 'santa' pressies and the pressies from mum and and dad went under the tree...i think im gunna do that with my bubby as well..

lilpixie- luvin the new nick lol...being 21 was the weird age for me, not really looking forward to 26..25..mmm not so bad..
Retail therapy..luv it ..even better when its guilt free, and if its on sale. I hate fighting via text..what a waste of a good door slam in the face LOL or is that just me and my anger issues lol

Mummy7:Im the same as you, i shop more for bubby then i do myself!..when i went shopping for my b'day..i bought her stuff as well lol..but it was for her b'day which is next week..eek! aww my bubby is not a bubby anymore.
Congrats on the 3rd date...i think its ok to be a little freaked out, your not only thinking of yourself but your bubby as well, but he seems like a nice guy, so go for it :D

1sttimemum: Omg the hospital bag..wow that takes me back! lol i'll tell ya one thing..stock up on maternity pads and breast pads...trust me!

Babygizaiah:welcome :D...wow your bubbys first b'day sounds awesome, i was gunna have an out there b'day party, but i thought i might do that for her 2nd b'day when she has an idea of whats going on! lol
Its my bubby's 2nd chrissy but im gunna count it as her first as she was only a month old at her first chrissy lol...i cant wait tho, she's obsessed with ripping things apart at the moment, i have a feeling tho she's gunna like the wrapping paper more then the pressies LOL
I work in childcare and i know heaps of mums like you that are freaked about putting there bubbies in to care. There is a process of getting them used to being in care so your not just dropping em off and leaving. You have visits and get to know the centre and the carers. Its good for them as well to have social interactions with other kids and ppl :)

Mummyjessie: arrgh i hate sweeping and mopping, my broom is a cheapie and i get splinters from it!..thats my excuse for being lazy and just using the vac! hope u get urs back soon!

Sambo13: awwww *big hugs* hope your mum is doing well on her treatment. Maybe you could do with sum retail therapy as well LOL..it works!!

Ixnay: welcome, congrats on your pregnancy :) we have a couple girls on here now that are having bubs..bub hub makes me clucky for another one...lol

xlouxloux:my bubby is one in a week!..you gunna have a big party? I got my bubby the cutest lil fairy outfit and we're having an ice cream cake from cold rock..but just a small family thing.

Fertile Mertile: hahahaha luv the nick! congrats on your pregnancy! do you know what your having? or will it be a surprise?..i wanted to know coz i got excitied about the nursery!..but i spose u've been there done that!

Wow i think i actually got around to talking to everyone...as for my weekend, nothing really interesting planned. Getting a new fish tank..woo hoo lol...i have marine fish, dory and nemo lol umm Playing basketball, catching up with the family..facebooking and bubhubbing LOL..anyways ladies i think thats enuff blah blahing from me for one nite...
hope i can keep up with ya...g'nite *hugs*

[quote=xlouxloux;3272860]babygizaiah - ive heard of so many babies going through seperation anxiety around 9 months, they become very clingy and if they were sleeping through often they start waking again. Have u asked if ur boys happy during the day at daycare? it might be that when hes around u he is just clingy cos ur there? (hope that makes sense i havent read very far back so i dont know the full story hehe)

my son isnt going to daycare. Im looking at putting him in part-time next year when I go back to uni. I thought its because we had moved to a bigger house, so understandable he couldnt see me when I walked around etc etc. I have heard from other mums and nurse etc that this normal its just becomes so hard sometimes. I am the only person he sees most days, so maybe hes just attached to me. Must love his mummy  but yeah Im sure he'll grow out of it.

laylasmumma23- thanks for the advice. now my dilema is my son is very needy of attention and he likes lots of cuddles and kisses and having conversations, and because Im unfamiliar with the whole daycare situation Im just scared that my son isnt going to get what he needs. Please dont take it the wrong way because I dont want to offend you. I just think you have limited start and they dont have to time to do that with all the kids, so thats what Im just worried about. I dont know I need to get over, because no matter what he has to go into daycare I have to go back and study. I dont want to be 40 kids moved out and Im uneducated lol. But I will actually arrange some meetings before chrissy let you know how it goes. Because not to long into the new year first semester starts.

mummy7- hey I say go for it. if you have chemistry there and he seems nice and understands that you and bubs come as a package I say throw yourself into it, but I do completely understand why you maybe hesitant. Its only natural. But what I've learnt is not to over analyse things. Just go with the momment. If it doesnt work out oh well, but if it does the rewards are priceless. Good luck. When is the next date?

hyland teething tablets- I know they dont sell them at the supermarket but all the chemist I have been to on the Gold Coast have them. Have you checked out the chemist and that. Where abouts do you live? Honestly they are absolutely a godsend I will send you some myself if you cant find them. If there is a cure every mother deserves it and deserves to know what it is  I have my sleep back. And obviously you give as many doses as you think ds needs up to a total of 6 a day. I usally only give them to him at night and he gets up to about 3-4 doses. But seriously I will post them to you if you cant find. Love them

daycare- My nephew went thru the same thing. Screamed and kicked when we dropped him off and was happy when we picked him up, but once they are over it they actually enjoy it. I think Im being selfish as well. I didnt think I would feel this way but I feel so bare without him. I only ever leave him with DF when Im doing the grocery shopping and I dont really do that anymore. My son is like permanently attached to me. I think Im more the problem that he is. I sound annoying and whinney. I will make a couple of appointments and she how he goes and then bite my tongue and drop him off one day a week in the new year. I hate expressing I just hate feeling restricted and hate sitting there for ages trying to express, so I had introduce formula for the odd occassion he is left with dad. Do any mums on here express instead of using formula?

fertilemertile & ixnay welcome to the thread. Sure you will enjoy your stay:laughing:

jesse07- I looked into correspondence but yeah I think I will get to tired up into Gizaiah and other things I feel for me it would be a waste of time, but yeah would be so great if I knew I could keep on track.

wedding plans are coming along nicely. Hey I have this great wholesaler in the US I tracked down for wedding dresses. Absolutely beautiful no catch and you can get majority of them under 200 bucks. (aus currency of course)my maid of honour tracked it down for me, so Im in the process of getting myself down before I order it, but so tempted to buy 2 and do a change half way thru . Well I have the park booked. Getting married at Cascade gardens. Received back council approval about 1mth ago. I am in the process of booking our reception venue Parklands, Gold Coast. With the 2 packages I need its going to cost about $35max per person. This includes, hiring of the place, decorations, linen, food,dj actually everything I need but alcohol. My cousin is a webdesigner so she designed my save the date cards which I will be emailing and then people who rsvp I will then post them out invitations. Alot of guests are coming from NZ, so just dont want to pay for unneccessary expenses. We also have our wedding site up and running www.mywedding.com/wiloveskylie (http://www.mywedding.com/wiloveskylie) check out setting up your own. Its free and its good for your out of town guests to look at it for directions you can put stories, photos, accommodation info etc. People can also rsvp on this site as well. I've got my 2 neices their flowergirl dresses, just need to get tuxes. I am in negotiations about prices for a private charter. I dont people to have to worry about drinking and driving so going to provide a bus. I think thats about it for now. Oh have my flowers sorted out. So yeah my goal is to keep it under 6grand. And I am determined to because we want to buy our first home before the wedding. But yeah. What about you what are you up to on your wedding plans.

Ladies I have blabbered on enough very sorry just got carried away, but I will do the rest of my personals in the morning. Have a great day

Hi gorgeous mamas!!!!!!!!!!
Thankyou 4 all ur kind support regarding my lil dates hehe.... Makes me feel better about it all. Was feeling kind of selfish for it. I think its coz I have been so strongly focussed on ds that I felt bad 4 doing something 4 me iykwim. What is every1 up2 this wk end? It is raining here so I think I am going to buy some balls for Xavier's ball pit today so we can have fun inside.. woo hoo!!!! (if I am game enough to face the weather hehe)
xlouxloux and Fertile Mertile.. Hello and welcome!!! Fertile Mertile.. congrats on ur pregnancy.. how exciting!!! (Im getting clucky )..
Jesse07..That is so... exciting about ur well deserved get away.. let us know how you go!!!

Babygizaiah.. I thought hyland teething tablets were only available @ health store, I will call into the chemist tomorrow
You sound exactly the same as me w my son. He is seriously attached to me 24/7 (except 1 day pw in care). But I think I am just as attached to him as he is to me .. He has been like this since he was 2m old though.. I think sometimes it is just personality... lil mummy's boys (I think we should enjoy it while it lasts )

Hi all

Weekend again....DP gave me a sleep in but I'm still tired. I wish this infernal pregnancy tiredness would just go away lol  Argh! I'm so sick of it!

My stomach is already popping out which I didn't think would happen till later on. I keep getting told 2nd pregnancy your stomach pops out earlier.

How many other people in this thread are from WA?

I have been buying up like crazy on small things for the baby room like bassinette sheets, tomy dream nightlight, nappy bag and all that.

Has anyone every tried a Tetra Snuggle Bed? My plan is to put that into the cot for night time sleeps until the baby is too big for it and during the day just have the baby in the bassinette. I'm also gonna try out Sounds for Sleep CD at nighttime as well.

Morning everyone! :flowerz:

Thanks for all the welcomes. I just hope I can keep up with this thread it seems to move pretty quickly

Lou - Thanks! I love the new nick too. It cracks me up also lol

Kirsten - Congratz on your preg! By the looks of it you dont have long to go how exciting! Its going to be an exciting xmas/new years for you :)

jesse07 - I hope your finger is better today. I dont blame you for crying it hurts so much when you do that!

Sambo - :hugs: I hope things get better for you soon. It must be horrible for your mum missing xmas this year but looking at it from another angle at least she will be here for xmas's to come. Fingers crossed that your hubby is one of the lucky ones that gets to keep his job. I have a friend who has had a similar thing happen to him. In regards to your BIL I think they need to understand that they have made a baby now they should be responsible for providing for it. They cant expect you to give away all your baby stuff especially if you are planning to have more kids in the future. If they dont like it well then thats not your problem :)

laylasmummy - How exciting that your lil girl is turning 1 next week! The fairy outfit sounds gorgeous! And talks of that ice cream cake has made my mouth start to water hehe As for the preg, we dont know what we are having yet as I am only 13 weeks. We had the NT scan yesterday and the sonographer tried to have a look but she said at this gestational age they all tend to look the same but DID say that there wasnt much 'dangly bits' So fingers crossed I have my lil princess!

cecandchels - I so know what you mean about being hassled off the computer by your DP! I have had the luxury of going on the computer when I want lately as DP has gotten very involved in the godfather game on wii (Thanks lou!) Your not a loser for wanting to stay home. I too prefer just to veg out at home. Its such a hassle to find a babysitter etc Its just easier this way hehe

babygizaiah - Sorry to hear that your DS is going thru the clingy stage. My DS did also and oneday he just seemed to snap out of it. I definately think its an age thing and im sure your DS will come around.

mummy7 - Are you planning to have another baby? Its so hard not to get clucky!

Ixnay - Thats very nice of your DP to give you a sleep in! I know what you mean about always feeling tired. Now that im in my second trimester im just wondering where this 'renewed amount of energy' is going to make an appearence! I have definately popped out heaps too. I did start to show with DS at about 12 weeks but I feel like I look 5 months preg right now

AFM - My plans today are to do nothing which at the moment sounds lovely to me. If I can be bothered I may decide to do a lil housework but I am considering just vegging on the couch allday. However I do need to make it to the supermarket at some stage today

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

just typed out a really long message and then lost it.

hi ladies, hope everyone is having a good weekend. Very hot day on coast today. God bless the person who invented aircon :yelclap:

anyway hubbie finally has a day off so we put a stall in at our local church. Didnt do to bad in two hours we ma about 150 bucks and that was only from stuff that we had in a box we have been wanting to get rid of in ages. So yeah that comes in handle for chrissy.

time for personals
sambo13, sorry to hear about your mum atleast you will be able to go overboard with chrissy next year once she is better. Hopefully radiation goes well. All the best for that.
Bummer about hubbies job, hopefully they can let him know soon about whats going to happen. They have to realise the more notice they give the better.
As for the inlaws I think we always have people like that in a lives unfortunately. My older brother (12yrs older)only rings us when he wants something. Rang up one day for me and my 2 sisters to put money in to buy him a truck and he'll send us a picture OMFG are you kinding me. Some people just dont think before they speak. As for your BIL for him to automatically assume your giving ds stuff is abit rude. I only have child and I am not parting with any of his stuff no matter what. I went and spent money and bought expensive things because I want to pass them down to my kids. Plus they have centimental value. I have all his hospital outfits blankets maternity tshirt etc i dont want to part with these things and I think that he should understand this. But you know some people just dont get it. Good luck with that situation

I think this weekend I might have a crack at making christmas crackers for Gizaiah for christmas. See how they turn out. Cant wait to put up my tree. I know people say it goes up on the 1st Dec, but df finishes late and I dont want to rush it, its our first christmas with ds. Been looking forward to it for ages. Seems like the holidays are 10 times better when you have little ones to share it with. Got his santa outfit yesterday. So so cute and my neice is 4wks old and got her a matching santa dress. Cant wait to take all the photos. Anyway yeah we're putting tree up on the 30th Nov (sunday dont care)

anyway ladies enjoy the rest of your weekends.

take care

ixnay-not sure if I congrat yet or not but congrats on your pregnancy..I am also pregnant and due January 6 so not long now..Tiredness I slept so much in my first trimester mum and dad would hardly see me because I was in bed so much

FertileMertile-yes its going to be great celebrating the new year with a baby..I can't wait and its going to drag on an on. Lol. I am having a lazy day also..

Mummy7-glad the dates are going well.

Thank to all you ladies for the well wishes to do with my mum..

I have talked to hubby and we might be going down to melbourne for christmas. Hubbys dad lives in melbourne so we will see him and then go visit mum at the cancer centre.

And with BIL well apparently they have been trying for a baby for a few months. As I said they are both 19yrs old. She is doing some sort of tafe course and BIL is an apprentice (so doesnt earn very much). Bil and his girlfriend dont even live together. She lives with her dad, and BIL still lives with MIL. It's not exactly an ideal situation but they will hopefully learn a lesson.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. It's raining here, so trying to keep 2 very active kids entertained is tiring.

Sam.

Sambo - That sounds fantastic that you might be heading off to melbourne for xmas! :reindeer: As for your BIL his situation sounds so fimilar to me right now. I had a friend that is doing the exact same thing. It just seems so silly to PLAN to bring a child into the world when they arent financially stable etc  Like you said hopefully they will learn a lesson.

Kirsten - Funny you should mention chocolate. I was having a  on the the couch while DS was having a nap and I had dreams of chocolate  I plan to head out to the supermarket soon and buy some!

Kirsten - Those Tv Vee things look so nice but I have never actually tried them myself. Im a hge fan of the twix pods *drool* Your chicken Schnitzel and chips sounds sooooo yum too! I craved chicken schnitzel burgers with DS. Poor DP was forever buying them for me. This time round I have just craved food in general :o I have decided to Make Chicken Chasseur for dinner tonight :) Its so exciting watching the baby move around in your belly. It used to freak DP out a lil bit tho when you could make out the limbs etc

Ixnay - :hugs: I hope your headache goes away. Thats so exciting about name searching! Have you got any favs? We have already picked out our boys name Kane Peter for a boy and for a girl I really like Bella Jade. DP is convinced we are haivng a boy so wont be suggesting any girls names until we know for sure. I think he secretly loves the name Bella but just doesnt wanna say it

Hi
How is everyone this freezing saturday night?
I'm starring out the window and there are these huge dark clouds just rolling by, definitely need the extra blankets tonight.
Ds has gone to bed early!!! Hooorah and dp is at work so i get to have some relaxing time to myself which is nice. All that talk about chocolate and now im having a craving especially for some nice hot choclate. has anyone ever made hot chocolate out of real chocolate, i might just try it out tonight.

Laylasmum23 Your fishtank sounds lovely, i would love to have marine fish, i had goldfish a year ago and they passed away, not my fault i was away during christmas and someone forgot to feed them! Hope u have a nice relaxing weekend.

Cec I'm definitely the same with waiting for that little bonus from Mr Rudd, knew i voted for him for a reason . Its definitely going to make our christmas a little bit merrier.

Babygiziaiah Wow u r super planned!!! Thats such an amazing feat that ur going to achieve having a budget of $6k, i really admire that, we r in a similar situation, trying to save for a house as well as find some money for a wedding. You have really inspired me and shown me its actually possible. I looooove your wedding site, its gorgeous!! Definitely putting my wedding plans to shame lol. I have bought part of my wedding bombonierre, I managed to get 6 shot glasses from spotlight for $2.50 so i bought 12 boxes and I'm going to fill them up with lollies. That wholesaler sounds great do they have a website? I'm still trying to figure out a theme and an exact location but i will keep u informed as i try to organise myself. Oh yeah and we put up our christmas tree today... we were soo bored and it was raining and too cold to go outside. How did the crackers go. making ur own sounds like lots of fun

sambo13 hope things are going well. going to melbourne for chrissy should be fun, especially if u get to see ur mum

1st time mum if there is one thing that i remember about being pregnant, its the kicking in the ribs!!!!

ixnay i love ur names especially Naryse its a really gorgeous name!

Babyedgar Welcome  how is ur weekend going?

wow this message is really really long.

Good evening every1..
I put my chrissy tree up tonight.. I know I am early ... could not resist!!:xmastree:now all I need to do is wrap pressies and put them under the tree and it will be complete. I went into the city to day to specifically do something and I did everything but what I was supposed to do.. Has anyone else lost their memory since having kids? lol. Seriously I used to have the BEST memory and now I am worse than an old woman!!! Cant believe how close chrissy is aaarghhh.. that means Xavier turns 1 in 5 wks!!! He wont be my baby anymore.. he will be a toddler OMG!!! Where has the yr gone!! I want him to stay a lil bub hehe.. he is growing up 2 fast.
Babygizaiah.. I found the teething tablets.. woohoo!!! Will let you know how I go..
Babyedgar.. Hello and welcome. Look 4ward to chatting 2 u.
1st time mum.. I miss feeling Xavier having a party in my belly.. so special. Although the kicking in the ribs sure was painfull hehe.. He used to get the hiccups flat out.. weird feeling. I craved broccoli (strange but true haha) and mandarines in my first tri and then icecream and choc flat out till the end.
Ixnay.. Hope you feel better soon.
FM.. No plans to have another bub.. I do get very very clucky though.. I am shocking haha.. Used to have no interst what so ever in babies prior to having ds and now I have turned into one of those baby crazy women that I used to hate
Cant remember who asked about real hot choc???.. DO IT!!!!!!! It is gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take it from a true chocoholic... you will not be disappointed!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway I am off to bed. Bub is having a growth spurt so I need as much sleep as possible (dont know how much he is willing to give me tonight lol)

Kirsten - Crumpets are soo good! I crave them even when im not preg. I try not to buy them coz I just eat waaay too many of them  I hope to not have GD this bub. I was lucky enough not to get it with DS so fingers crossed I dont get it this time. I like the name Ryley! My old boss called her lil boy that. Very cute.

Ixnay - I like your names that you have on your short list too! Your girls names are so pretty and your boys names are so masculine :)

babyedgar - Hey there! Im new to this thread also! Im Mel, 23, mum to a 14 month old boy called Seth and Due for #2 in May.

jesse - I hope your hot chocolate works out!

Mummy7 - I used to be the same around kids. Had no interest whatsoever in them either. I was an only child untill I was 13 then my sister was born so I think that put me off big time. Now im super clucky! How exciting putting up your xmas tree. We dont have a xmas tree. We do not have any room for it tho. Would like to get one but it just seems near impossible. Hope DS lets you sleep tonight

hey ladies, thougt I'd pop in before I settle down and watch a movie with DF. Gizaiah is in bed yay sleeping like a baby should. So the house is nice and quiet :yelclap:

jesse07- im just lucky I have a bit of time on my hands so I look online for ways to save and I actually come across a site where people were able to plan their weddings for under $3000 now thats getting creative. I just thought about the things that were really important to me. Things like flowers arent worth me paying $600 for something I am only going to use for an hour. I have been looking into a floristry course. Usually only a day course and they can teach you how to do up bouquets. Something I think is really nice and simple is a small bunch of long stemed calla lillies with a thick organza ribbon to tie it together. Really nice, thing is calla lillies aint in season in April so we cant do it. But I was thinking white ordeniums (I think thats the name, I've got it written down somewhere)with these long stemmed flowers with blue buds coming thru the bouquet. Really nice, so I kinda want to go with that style as our wedding colour is blue and black. Just wanted something simple but elegant.

website is http://www.lightinthebox.com/wholesale-Wedding-Dresses_c1181 (http://www.lightinthebox.com/wholesale-Wedding-Dresses_c1181) and http://search.dhgate.com/Wedding-Dresses/c_140808.html?f=txd (http://search.dhgate.com/Wedding-Dresses/c_140808.html?f=txd)
and also I have spoken to a lady on bubhub who has study photography and does it as a hobbie is willing to do the photography at our wedding. She lives in Sydney and I just have to pay for her flight up and expenses while here for the day. So call photography schools and see if any students are willing to get some work expenses may do it for free. Found another lady who is trying to build up her portfolio and is doing a photo shot of Gizaiah next week. 60 shots puts them all on disk for us for free. Cant go wrong with that. So you dont have to skimp on the wedding cake call a local culinary school and get prices from them.
if you want any advice savings tips anything email me my email address is misskyliephillipa@hotmail.com anything I can do to help, but thats it for now until I pull out my wedding book and then I'll send you somemore info. Good luck with the planning. What date are you looking at?

mummy7- yay you have them. I bloody forgot to give Gizaiah a couple of doses before he went to bed so it will be interesting to see how he goes tonight. He went down fine when hes father put him down. I hope he'll get up late in the morning, because I wont to get a workout in before DF heads off to work and then its spring cleaning for me. Anyway hope ds is good. its just so nice to see them not in pain. If there is a cure a mum is bound to find it.

well to all the new mums. Im am so addicted to this thread. Im in here constantly.

wow, this thread has obviously gone crazy in the last couple of days, i had to back track quite a bit to catch up...

babygiziah that sounds awesome about ur wedding plans! it must be so exciting, or is it stressful? also, im so like u and mummy7 in terms of having my dd constantly around. i hardly ever leave her she is with me grocery shopping and everything i do pretty much always, i probs go out and leave her with a grandparents once a month. and she is fine when i leave her, its me that is a mess, even sometimes when she goes to bed early, i want to get her up later on to say goodnite, ha ha. i dont tho, just in case anyone thought i was extra weird  dp and my mum think i have to get out more... they are prob right. she isnt in daycare amd next year when i go back to uni she will be with dp's mum and im not looking forward to it at all.

oh my goodness mummy7 chelsea got the hiccups all the time when i was pregnant too and weirdly... i craved brocilli massively and they are only a day apart! that is too weird.

ixnay i havent tried that, chels was in a bassinet night and day till she grew out of it. but the sounds thing it think does help. when i did prac in a maternity unit they had a sound thing from homemedics which the mothercraft nurse swore by, and i swear i saw it work like a charm many times. id be really keen to get one for the next bub whenever that may be (like most of us i think, im SO clucky! thanks to all ur pregnant mummies!)

fertilemertile i hope ur day vegging was good! thats what i am doing tonight, although had my mum and dad over for dinner earlier and now that they are gone i can truly veg. i even told dp i wanted him to go out tonight purely so i could have some "me time". oh and my dp is obsessed with ps3 games. and i love the name bella jade.

1sttimemum good idea with the extra packets of pads, i stole some from the hospital b/c apparently the ones i had bought were not the right ones  but i got so much conflicting advice in hospital i had no idea what to think. so my advice is just do what u feel is right for u and ur bubba, with everything. the mother always knows what is best!! honeslty. and i love love loved watching my dd move around in my tummy, i miss that. excpet the rib kicking!

sambo that is great news about christmas. i hope u are able to make the trip, i think it would be worth it. and i know what u mean about trying to keep kids entertained inside, we live on the top floor of a block of units and i swear dd gets cabin fever as much as i do.

hey babyedgar and welcome. i live in syd too. woo! im from the hills area, where abouts are u? im 22 and have a 11mnth old.

laylasmumma dp used to have a fish tank and we tried so hard to make it work, sadly all our fish would die with in about a week and so we stopped buying them. have no idea what we were doing wrong. i have really bad luck with fish...

so hi to everyone else

im sorry this thread has been soo long. i just felt like i had to catch up. my bro is coming home from london tomorrow after living there for around 6 months so it will be great to see him tomorrow. and one of my other brothers is in hospital at the moment, he had a hip replacement (cause of athritis) and is having a slow recovery which is horrible - he has already had enough pain with this stupid disease and i feel so helpless as i just want to make him better! grr. so ill be seeing him tomorrow too. hope everyone had a great sat night!! talk soon

Hi everyone  I think I will have to try out the personal thing everyone else does.:D

FertileMertile thanks! I think the names I have chosen are pretty *strong* and the girl names are too. I like odd names, not everyones cup of tea. The thing is Everyone thinks they are odd but I found some in a Dutch baby names list and some in Irish and some in Gaelic. I just called them out to DP and he wrote the ones down he liked lol.

cecandchels I didn't try that last time, I just kept Rohan in a bassinette for a couple of months. He grew out of it pretty quick as he was born 11lb 15oz and was the size of a 3mth old and went straight in to 00 lol. The thing I really like about my bassinette is you can tuck the wheels up into the frame and it turns into a cradle style, so I can rock the baby to sleep. I thought I might give the Sounds for Silence a go as lots of people were raving on about it.

AFM I had another terrible nights sleep constantly getting up going to the loo . My son is up at the crack of dawn and school tomorrow so I can get some peace after I have mopped the floors lol.

Afternoon ladies..

Jesse07-:yelclap: that's great that Jesse took his first step..Yeah that's one thing I won't miss my poor ol' ribs. Lol.

CecandChels-I am very well prepared and way to organised. Lol. Yeah the rib kicking really does hurt. Lol.

Mummy7-yeah I definitely miss it when he is born I am so used to getting a punch in the stomach wake up call. Lol. Hope you have a good rest..Mmm ice cream. Yum..I love that with ice magic :D Broccoli that's weird. Lol. We haven't put our tree up yet as we don't have one and have to buy a new one.

FM-I loved crumpets and vegemite morning noon and night  Not now I won't go near them. Lol. Yeah Ryley was suggested to me and it stucked and wanted to be different so I replaced the I with a Y.

babygizaiah-can I ask how you come up with your bubs name..Its unique and I never heard of it before..

xlouxloux-i'm not engaged, single in fact or going back to uni as I deferred it for a few years because I got pregnant..

ixnay-I think I lost count how many times I went to loo especially during the 1st trimester. Lol.

Well I am just relaxing today..Not much to do might clean my room if I can be bothered. Lol.

Hope you all are having a good weekend..

But other that I am actually feeling in a bit better mood today.

Afternoon ladies :flowerz:

cec - Im glad your DP got out of the house for you so you could have some time for yourself! DP goes to soccer on tues nights and DS is normally in bed by 7 I just love relaxing and watching tv by myself. I hope your bro in hospital has a speedy recovery and it will be great to see your other bro after 6 months! Will he be staying for xmas?

mummy7 - Sorry to hear you got a terible sleep last night :( Do you have any idea why he isnt sleeping? Oh btw what new car are you getting?

ixnay - I like unusual names too but nothing like Apple etc  I hope the peeing in the night slows down a bit. Up until a week ago I was up about 5 times a night and now im up about 1 - 2 times a night so hopefully it slows down for you soon too!

jesse - How exciting about bub taking his first steps! :smiliedance: B4 you know it he will be running around hehe

sambo - glad to hear your feeling a lil better today :)

hello to everyone else!

AFM - Lou and Alyssa came over today for lunch and the kids had a play. I was going to do housework today so it was a nice change of plans hehe Tonight I plan to be lazy again, I just dont seem to have any energy lately. I feel so lazy just lying around all the time. The joys of being pregnant I guess!

23-11-2008, 18:06
babygizaiah-can I ask how you come up with your bubs name..Its unique and I never heard of it before..

its not pronounced the way its spelt. Its funny hearing people try and say it. When I was pregnant I really liked the names Gisele and Izaiah, but when our son was born he didnt really have the personality of either of these names so we combined it and we got Gizaiah. Its pronounce Jezaiah (didnt like that spelling) so yeah thats my story. His maori name that his kani (MIL) gave him is Te Awherangi

1stTimeMum09
23-11-2008, 18:29
babygizaiah-thanks for explaining that..It is really unique..:)

Re-Driving-um I still have my L's after getting them 2 years ago at 23. Lol. I am short- sighted and need glasses but they got stolen (I was mugged & they were in my handbag) and next year I am going to try and give it a go especially now that I am pregnant and I don't want to rely on public transport all my life. Lol.

 to everyone else..

Have a headache so maybe go to bed early..Hope you all had a good weekend..

Hey ladies! As Mel said we popped over to hers today for lunch and so the littlies could have a play was nice even if the bubs kinda play at opposite ends of the room lol quite amusing.
Having a yummy roast chicken roll for tea n hopefully an early night, i just seem to be so damn tired lately (nope not pregnant either!)

Mel - i so know how u can have lazy time at ur house ur couches are just so comfy! id never get up if i was u hehe

1sttimemum09 - A family frend of mines son is Ryley, at first i wasnt sure cos id only known Riley's but its definatly grown on me. I used to like Jade as a first name but said id spell it Jayde to be a bit diff hehe. I defered from uni for a yr too, and Alyssa's dad and i had a 6 month break after bubs was born we just couldnt be in the same room (:geek:)

Jesse - woohoo! congrats on ur boy taking his first steps! thats so sweet that u cried naw hehe

Sambo - sounds like a great idea focusing on ur family, i read about ur bil and think that what Mel said is right, it shouldnt be ur responsibility they chose to fall preg surely they realised they would need to buy things. Good luck with ur driving test!!

Mummy7 - sorry to hear u had a horror night! theres no way i could sleep with Alyssa in my bed either. Hope u get a better nights sleep tonight

cecandchels - hope u had a good day seeing ur brothers. I love seeing ppl when they have come back from overseas so many stories, makes me so jealous lol. ur poor brother in hosp though, not nice, hope he is recovering okay and not too miserable stuck in bed.

babygizaiah - im glad u explained how to pronounce ur bubs name, i was trying to figure it out the other day but didnt wanna ask :o i like the spelling u chose aswell

mmm roast smells good! better start chopping up vegies have a good night everyoneee

Its not like I dont know how to drive haha... Any I will let yous know once I rebook.

Hello 2 every1 else..
Have a fabulous day :flowerz:

hey, because gizaiah teeths quite badly with his teeth trying to cut thru and all. I usually put him down to bed around 8. So I give him minimum 4 doses a night. Depends on how the day went. But yeah usually 4 doses. I will give first lot @ 4pm and then every hour after that. So I give 2 tablets every hour. I find its best to give them to bubs before they are in pain and distress. Its all natural so its not going to cause them any harm. Try that if ds is still having trouble. He was great lastnight. I think after only have 2 doses. He didnt wake up until 9am this morning. It was bliss got so much done.

hey eveyone!

it was good seeing my brother from overseas, but he was understandably tired and we went out to my aunts place so there wasnt much time to chat. i hadnt been to my aunts place in yrs and i took my dp on a tour of my grandfathers house and property. it was nice seeing all the places i used to play when i was growing up. my other bro in hospital had kind of a bad day yesterday, in alot of pain which is horrible. but hopefully today would be better. today we are going to the shops to start our christmas shopping cause dp has mondays off which is nice, but yay!:noel:

we are heading off now so ive go no time for personals (but ill probs be back here later tonight). chat soon! xo

Morning everyone! :flowerz:

babygizaiah - I also think its a beautiful name.

Kirsten - I hope your headache has gone away. What license are you going for? I just have my auto license

Kayangel - Thats so sweet that you want Lou back :D

Mummy7 - Poor lil Xavier. Its so hard on them when they are teething :( I see you are using the teething tablets but have you tried Brauer Teething relief? I use that for DS and I find it works pretty well. Its also natural and you can use it in conjuction with panadol/nurofen.

Cec - Have fun xmas shopping today! I hope your bro in hospy has a better day :)

Hello to everyone else

AFM - Im at work today and tomorrow  I am really finding I have no patience at work anymore. I am only here mon, tues and fri but it still seems to drive me nuts! hehe I also have netball tonight with lou. I think I will make next week my last game as its getting harder and harder to play and I find im always contacting other players as im instinctivly using my arms to protect my belly. Im also getting frustrated as I cant play the way I want to play.

Anyways I hope you all are having a lovely day!

Hi all...It's really getting hard to keep up.

I have my last driving lesson on Friday. I am only going for my automatic license, so much easier to drive. I got my L's on my 18th Bday, and I only got them so I had I.D. had no intention of actually driving but that has changed now that I have 2kids.
I dont feel so bad now that I know I'm not the only one who hasn't got their license yet.

And I finally have some GOOD news. Hubby isn't getting transferred:)
He has just been put on a different rig at the mine here.

Hope everyone has a good day:)

Hi girls,
just a quick msg, i hope lol

Thats great news sambo, so happy for you!
I totally agree with you on the license. i got my learners for id and now 5 years later am trying to get the confidence to actually go for my p's. I tried the manual thing, and while i can drive one, i just cant drive very well lol. so i'm going to go for them in an auto... one day.

I better get going, i won tickets to an advanced screening of Australia ( new nicole kidman movie) tonight. I'm heaps excited, first trip to the movies down here since ds was born. The FIL is looking after him, I'm hoping he will be good, dont particularly want to get a fone call half way through the movie saying i have to go home coz he is unbearable.
Anyway starts at 6, so i better be off. I'll let you know how it all goes later.

Howdy Ladies, wow i thought i was doing really well with all my personals...but that was back on page 13!...Yikes..

Cec:Got her outfit from cotton on kids it was $30, and you can get wings and a head band to match which of course i did...so it was like $40 all up..whoops..budget breaker! lol
That sucks about your fish tank, it takes about 6 months of set up with a marine fish tank before you can even put fish in there..takes patience..but it looks awesome in the end.
How did your chrissy shopping go? i should really start mine..or @ least make a list of what i think ppl might like...
Hope your bro feels better and has a speedy recovery :D

BabyG: About childcare, dont just visit one centre, go to a whole bunch and see which one you like the best. As for the thinking that they wont get the same amount of attention, it all depends on ratio's (make sure you check those out) at my centre we had 12 babies in the room , 3 adults and 4 babies to one adult. Ratio 1:4 it was great, so i can assure you that all you bubby's needs will be met! :D
Wow your so organised with your wedding. I knew a girl who spent $25 g's on her wedding and they stayed 2getha for 6 months. so sad!. I reckon $6g's is a good price to go for!...

Ixnay:I think i replied to your name thread lol..sorry i was totally bored and i luv picking names..you can just ignore my suggestions! :P
Enjoy your pamper :) im the same as xloux just let em go feral then panic LOL

FM-Its kinda scary to have a One year old..awww my bubbies not a bubby nemore.
gotta keep us posted whether is a hotdog or a taco then LOL...but it sounds like you really want a girl, luv the name bella jade..
I played basketball up till 5 months pregnant..it probably explains why bubs really likes to bounce LOL...my doc said it was fine, i was protective tho as well...plus some of those girls are really pushy and huuuuuuuuuge! ( i'm 5'4 so every1 is huge to me) LOL

1sttimemum:awww i miss bubby moving, she was a real lil gymnast, i dont miss the kicks to the ribs either. I reckon i still have footprints in my kidneys! LOL...the rolling was the weirdest feeling, like my whole stomach just turned ova..I craved sultana's and peanut butter on celery lol and bubs used to go nuts when i ate strawberries.

Sambo13: Ooooo melb for xmas lucky you, i luv shopping in melbourne :D good luck with gettin your licence. It seems that im the only one who can drive in here lol..i got my licence when i was 17..and have been driving ever since.
Oh and good news about your hubby yay :D

mummy7:I have a magnectic whiteboard on my fridge so i dont forget important stuff.

Jesse07: My bubby took her first steps the other day...arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh they grow up way to fast. Took 5 steps. I almost burst into tears! lol such a sook. lol
aww your poor goldfish, the are cheaper tho. Marine fish you are lterally flushing money down the toilet. Our clown (nemo) was $50!..

xlouxlou: Im not engaged or married, but i have a dp of 4 yrs..we kinda decided we've already done things backwards..lol Gunna get a house before we get married. Plus bubs can be my flowergirl by then LOL

Babyedgar: welcome..sorry about the late response..its just really hard to keep up.

hey to any1 i missed..hope all is well :D

AFM- bubby's first bday on friday...aww happy and sad..i should have a party just for me "i survived" LOL it seems that i am the only one who hasn't put my chrissy tree up, due to bubs being totally destructive right now..no doubt she will eat most of the tinsel LOL
anways enough from me for one day.
Catch all you lovely ladies later. xx

lol Don't worry about it I liked the name Ivy you picked. I will run it past DP and see what he thinks.

Why should I ignore it? I'm open to suggestions! The names I have might not *suit* the kid once he or she is born.

I just like odd names and untraditional names. I find so many names dull and run of the mill.

I picked Rohan thinking it would be not that popular and I liked it and then a year later LOTR came out and Rohan's started appearing everywhere in diff spellings.

sambo - Great news about hubby!

laylasmummy - I cracked up when I read your post  Yes def hoping for a taco :D I dont know how you played basketball for that long. Ah yeah me too in the learning to cook better, or actually try different stuff as I will have 2 next year lol.

But I don't have to worry about bubs till he or she is 6mths old.

I was very lazy last time and bought a lot of jar food. Rohan was constantly eating and I found it easy to shovel a jar in to him cause he ate and ate and ate and was a stringbean.

This time I will have to make more effort to cook fresh stuff I can freeze.

The only thing I can cook pretty well is Sgetti Bog lol.:D

1stTimeMum09

Mum and dad are buying me a food processor for Christmas so bub can eat fresh food when he goes on solids..

Yeah I can cook Spag Bol, pasta and my ever famous cheese on toast

My parents are going to teach me..I am on a mission for next year: to learn how to cook and to get my P's :D (Hopefully. Lol).

So don't worry you not on your own. Lol.

I sneaked a pizza the other day so it's all good lol.

Yeah we are gonna get a food processor.

wow, this thread went crazy today! i get back tonight abd there are about 4 more pages!

so the shopping went well, and oh my god, i dont think i have ever been this excited about christmas before!! we bought some stuff for chels and then a little christmas tree for our table, cause chels would destroy anything we put on the floor. i need to buy more decorations for it tho it looks kind of sad at the mo. i just cant wait for chels to open her presents. me and dp already took one out of the box and had a play with it after she went to bed tonight, and we nearly broke it, oops  im just going to get a few more things of the net for her. im thinking ill wait till the after christmas sales to shop for her birthday, what are u doing mummy7? we changed chels cot today, it had been on newborn all this time and she had started standing up so she could have easily fallen out. it made me a bit sad, my little baby is all grown up (sort of). but im glad i did it, she probs would have fallen out one of these days.

sambo thats great news about ur dp! i bet that is a relief! and good luck ur p's, when are u going? i got my p's a couple of months after i turned 17 and i couldnt believe i had waited so long. u will love being able to drive - same for all u other learners

jesse07 what was australia like? i hate nicole kidman, but i really want to see it. think we might even go "silverscreen". and congrats on the first steps, thats so exciting!!

laylasmumma also congrats on the first steps! interesting about the fish tank, that could be the reason they all died, oops. we had fresh water fish only tho, would that make a difference? i was looking at fairy dresses in uncle pete's toys today. im def going to get one for her birthday. she loves pretty things so i think she will really enjoy that. did ur daughter like it? and how was the cake?

ixnay i like the name Ivy too, what did ur dp think? we chose chelsea thinking it wasnt that popular, turns out we were wrong. i think there are plenty of chelseas around. oh well, i still love it!

1sttimemum 34 weeks! how exciting! ur so close. i loved the last few weeks - just relaxing and anticipating. i have a baymix that i used to puree chels food, i found it really good and easier to clean which was helpful.

muumy7 how did ur ds sleep? did the teething tablets help?

babygiziah does ur ds' moari name have a meaning?

well i think i have caught up now, but if not :hugs: to everyone else!!

We are exactly the same. We have to drop gizaiah's cot, because he standing now and it freaks out that he might fall out. df has to figure out how to do it. t makes it a bit hard thou because I want ds to try settling himself but if hes awake he'll stand up screaming and my worse nightmare he'll fall out. So thats on my to do list.

I know what you mean about them growing up, Im feeling a bit sad to. Only 85 more sleeps and then my baby will be 1. Meant to be a good time but it just seems to be going to fast for me. I which I could just pause him for a while. But not going to happen.

I swear christmas is a hundred times better when you have children to share it with. We have our tree up. A theme is purple, blue and gold. It looks pretty good if I do say so myself. Due to get babys prezzies out on Friday. Put them on layby back in July. Dont wanna do the made rush this year. I think I forget how young he is I have bought so much stuff he probably wont be able to use yet. A got him a batman quad bike and trailor. Yeah at 10mths old I dont think he'll be able to use it by himself. Oh well. But yeah I got to much stuff I think and df has no idea. Well I guess he will when I put it all under the xmas tree.

Mummy7- I hope you had a better sleep lastnight?

cecandchels- my MIL names him Te Awherangi, I dont know exactly what the origin of this name is. His mum was meant to get me that stuff, but hasnt yet. But its a strong tribal name basically meaning togetherness.

we put a stall in at our local church garage sale on saturday and oddly enough I ran into my friends mum there. (their from NZ, I havent seen them in 4-5yrs) They called this morning so they're gonna pop over this arvo for a visit. Looking forward to it. A lot has changed since we finished school. Basically the last time we seen each other. So yeah thats my plans today.

25-11-2008, 09:50
Cec.. I have already got Xavier's birthday presents (couldnt resist hehehe). But if I could of been patient and waited I def think the after xmas sales would of been the way to go. (will try and hold off nxt yr lol).
I am worried about ds standing up in his cot as well but I dont know if I can adjust mine. will have to check it out.
Babygizaiah.. I cant believe how soon it is until Xav is 1. OMG... 5 wks away. It feels like yesterday he was just a newborn baby and now he is so.. big and independent lol..they grow up too fast. I am impressed w hylands indeed. He still woke a little last night but as I said I discovered his mollers are coming through so I think a bit of night waking is to be expected. Poor lil man. But he did sleep till 7am this morning and he is usually up at 6. Yay!!! I wish I discovered them earlier.
Afm.. I feel heaps better today after a little more sleep last night than what I have had for the past wk or so . But I am nervous today as I have a directions hearing (court) tomorrow. I am so sick of battling w ds father grrrr..... But my friend is coming over tonight to have a big girly pig out and chilax which I am looking forward to.
I am so amped for xmas this yr.. it brings the magic back when you have your own children. Not long to go now.....:noel:

I'm driving over to the next town today to get a trim which is needed as I'm getting split ends.

My morning sickness seems to be going away slowly which I'm pretty happy about. I'm still feeling pretty damn tired all day and I have serious lack of energy.

I ran the name Ivy past DP and he doesn't like it lol. As for Cuinn spelt with a Q, we talked about it and we and we decided to stay with the C.

LOL Hopetoun doesn't have a hospital and the local one is just for the old folks and small emergencies. The nearest hospitals for giving birth are Esperance and Albany.

I will move to Perth a month before I'm due and stay with my SIL and then my DP and DS will come about 3 weeks later.

You can give me your recipe if you want, I will give it a go.

Ok for anyone whos interested heres my potato bake recipe... :D

Ingredients

6 potatoes cubed or sliced (or more if you want to make HEAPS)
600mL Thickened Cream
2 x packets of French onion soup

Method

Pre heat oven to 200 degrees
Put potatoes in an oven safe dish (i tend to pre cook them so it doesnt take so long)
Mix cream and french onion soup together and pour over the potatoes
Bake in oven until 'crispy' on the top or until potatoes cooked

So simple!! :smiliedance:

im glad that they worked for you. yeah ds may still wake up during the night a little. But I dont mind because hes got irritable and screaming and hard to settle. usually just flop out the boobie and hes back out lol. But yeah I've heard that its painful when they get their molars. But atleast he has a bit of relief now. My bottle is almost done so i will need to get another one.

My friend just let. It was really good catching up with her. Its funny now having baby conversations with her. Her daughter is about 8mths older than Gizaiah. I managed to bake a few things before they turned up. I had to get creative. Shopping day tomorrow, so there isnt usually fast stuff to grab out of the fridge to eat and the end of the week.

I have an assessment at the university tomorrow. Bit nervous who knows why. But yeah so they can see what level im on and then I can book in for my course next year.

Anyway ladies just received Gizaiahs things of ebay so Im gonna have fun going thru them while ds is asleep with his daddy.

Im gonna have christmas going thru it

have a great day

p.s I find with a potato bake it turns out really nice if you just pre cook the sliced potatoes and then make a big cheese and combine and bake. Turns out great and its so simple and if you want just chuck pasley in at the end for a bit of colour

babygizaiah - good luck with ur assessment tomorrow! whats it for? Im doing Human Resources next yr eeep something ive never done before but think it will be interesting lol.

Ixnay - wow 11lbs! u superstar! my bub was 5lb 10oz but she was 6 weeks premature (spontanious labour) i think she would have been high 7 or even 8lbs

1sttimemum09 - thats great the ob appointment went well! ur on the home stretch time to just sit back relax and wait hehe

sairpaul - welcome! Jump right in the girls here are super nice

AFM - Alyssa was a bit of a nut this afternoon, woke up after a 20min nap and has just been full on hyper crazy overtired baby lol i ended up putting her to bed half hr before usual cos she was getting upset at everything
Went to look at a rental around the corner (i live with my mum but will be moving in with DF end of Dec/Jan) it was okay but had no yard, no bath, was on 2 levels and i dno its just so hard lol

25-11-2008, 22:31
hey guys,

so chels is beginning to wake during the night too, im sure its teething so im going to look into those hylan teething tablets. id def prefer the natural option. but it could just be that we moved her cot and changed the bed, etc so we will see how it goes tonight.

mummy7 good luck with ur hearing tomorrow. and i hope u had a good girly night!! i love those nights.

xlouxlou chels would just attack our tree too, so we just got a tiny one and put it up on the table. although the couch is right near it and she attacks it anyway  we bought her a tunnel that she can crawl through in the shape of an alligator. its so cute. hope she likes it. we nearly broke it by locking the childproof zipper, then wee couldnt work out how to unzip it. how embarrassing. i def know what you mean about looking for rentals. i hated it! so depressing when u dont find anything good, but have faith, we found a place that is perfect for us (although i would love a garden) but im sure there is one for u out there!

i also bought her some more presents off the net today and im going to get her some clothes off the pumpkin patch website - the clothes are so cheap there = 50% off. they are last seasons i think, but that doesnt bother me.

fertilemertile that potato bake sounds great, im going to try that tomorrow with the BBQ at my mum and dads, do u put cheese on top?

hello sairpaul and all the other mums

well everyone, im going to continue looking at toys on the internet, its my new obsession.

Yeah it wasn't pretty  He was a chunk alright! Totally insane, I did NOT expect my first child to be that huge. No wonder he got stuck and then the nurse told me I was like WHAT?! lol

I'm hoping my 2nd is slightly smaller, but at my height and body type and DP's I don't think the baby will be that small like a nice 7-8lb. I don't really want a c/s

Well what can I say she is a Golden Retriever and *blonde* lol. The baby room reeks of dog odour like so bad and I have sprayed the entire carpet with white vinegar. It reeks so bad but hopefully that will kill off the smell cause nothing penetrates the smell. :barf:

Ha, I hope I don't have c/s either but I will probably. I'm opting for one because of Rohan's big size and because he bent my tail bone out of shape and my pelvic floor is stuffed. lol

Stanky's son was bigger than mine but they are pretty close. :D

I dunno why they used forceps, I mean wouldn't c/s be the better option???

Good afternoon! :ecomcity:

Lou - Was good going shopping today! Even if Kmart stuffed me around! Will see you tonight for netty.

cec - I personally dont put chesse on top but I cant see it not working if you do! :) Hope if turns out nice for you tonight.

Ixnay - Thats great that DP complimented on your hair. It must look fabulous! Your a champ for squeezing an almost 12 pounder out! So is everyone else who had big babys. I had an emergency c/s with DS they arent THAT bad but yeh natural is always better.

Kirsten - Yes you did start a potato bake trend lol My middy told me that I would be having a 8 - 9 pounder and DS was a nice 7 pounds 5 :D

Laylasmummy - How gross that your DD ate a bug! I think I would have chucked if I saw DS do that :barf:

mummy7 - Glad to hear you had a good night and ate heaps of choccy! Im having an elective c/s with this bub. Had a pretty stressful labour with DS and pretty much 'failed to labour' not to mention he went into distress. When your in that situation you just want the baby out of you alive! Im terrfied of that happening again so my doc thinks its best if I have a c/s.

Stankysmum - Welcome! Im Mel, 23 and have a 15 month old son called Seth

AFM - Well I went to the shops today to pick up my laybys from the mid year toy sale and after 40 minutes of waiting they told me they couldnt find some of it! Its was a trike for DS, they kept telling me that they would find it and give me a call but they obviously had no idea so just asked for a refund in the end. Such a waste of time! Oh well now I will be scouting the catalouges to try and find another I like. I also have netball again tonight. Its my last game for wed night netty and will finish up completely after mondays game. Cant wait to be able to start watching House again on wednesdays!

Anyways hope everyone else is having a good day

 Hello again (I love that little icon )

Mummy7 if you dont mind me asking what was your lawyer going to court for you for? Ive just been through mediation with XP and am due to go back to court in Feb for an AVO final hearing.

Ixnay I think they would've used forceps if DS was far enough down the birth canal because otherwise they have to open you up and pull him all the way back up if you get what i mean? They seem to not like to do that?

Mel - My DS is a Seth too :D Seth Marshall. When Big W lost my layby they just went and got the same thing from the shelf  Good on em. I hope you find an even better replacement :)

AFM - Nothing special, I have to pick Stanky up from Nannas soon, once I finish work and then home to walk the Moo I suppose...anyone wanna do it for me hehe

Ixnay and fm.. I totally understand opting for a c/s w reason. I just find it strange that women want to have them (w no real reason) rather than giving birth naturally iykwim. I hope I didnt offend any1 w my opinion.
Stankysmum..Court is in regards to my x having visitation w ds. It is nothing but a damn headache!!! Is complicated as he is only allowed to have supervised visitation due to his aggressive nature etc.. and we also live 3 hrs apart...long story. Is mediation working 4 u? We were not able to go through mediation. Had to go straight to court as they assessed our case as too high risk 4 mediation. Have you already been to court or will Feb be the first time? Grrrr.. I hate court, judges.. the whole justice system sux when it comes to family law (sorry 4 my lil vent lol)
Cec.. No sh!t Xavier has developed a phobia of grass  We do not have grass at our pl just a paved crt yard. He has sat on grass b4. Although we have not sat on grass for perhaps 4 wks and today when we went to the park he freaked!!! Touched the grass then looked at me and cried w his hands up in the air hehe.. poor lil fella.
 to every1 else xo

hi ladies well didnt have my assessment today, because it was rescheduled until the 16th Dec. I finished school early it was when I moved to OZ, so now I have to do my year 12 equivilent in order to have my entrance requirements for my psychology degree. So thats my story.

kids eating bugs- gizaiah was with me at the clothes line (because he has to be near me or the water works start haha...) and he was chewing away. Put my fingers in and out came a rock but he was still chewing, put my fingers back in and this thing felt quite slimey. Looked at the ground and it was a bloody snail. Then it started crawling. YUCK I freaked out I was ringing df didnt know what to do. Got out the dish cloth and I was scrubbing out his mouth. Couldnt kiss him for a while  absolutely grossed me out. Traumatizing

Welcome to all the newbies. Geez I have to make sure I hop on this thread atleast twice a day otherwise I get left behind.

mummy7- Im glad your getting some much deserved rest.

when is everyone getting their santa photo's done? Hoping to go and get ds done on Saturday. Hopefully df isnt working, so we can do it as a family. Have to send them off to NZ before the xmas rush.

Yay meeting up with a friend tomorrow night (actually a girl I met on bubhub) and we're going latenight shopping without the bubs. They will be staying home with their fathers. I think they need some QT haha.... You get things done so much faster when you dont have teh kids with you. its funny because our kids seem to tag team at playing up while we're out, so it will be good.

anyway ladies hope everyone had a good day, very ugly on the coast today. had a very lazy day in my jami's alday. better go goodnight

Hi Girls,
Its been awhile since I've been on and I have to do so much reading to catch up lol

Saw Australia and LUVED it! Hugh Jackman is just so god damn HOT! Not a real big fan of nicole kidman, but it was hugh that stole the limelight!

Anyway i have no idea where to start but i do know wat im cooking tomorrow night! Potato Bake lol

mummy7 I hope everything went well for you today :hugs:. Sounds like you are going through a hard time. My DS had a short phobia of grass i would put him on the lawn and he would refuse to touch it with his hands, it was hilarious watching him crawl with his hands facing upwards.
I knew a woman who chose to have a c/s because she hated period pain! (and its not like she suffered from extremely bad pain either) and she had to have a general anaesthetic too! Wouldnt that be awful waking up drowsy and bang you've had your baby and you dont even know. i had an emergency c/s and that was not fun at all!

babygiziah the thought of eating a snail makes me shiver  Thats definitely a story for his 21st! Christmas parade is on this saturday and i think thats when santa arrives at myers so I'm thinking we will get ds photo taken next week so it wont be as busy. I have no idea how he will go or if he will even sit on santas lap. I love santa photos though, we got one done last year when ds was 9 weeks old, he just pooed and the look he has on his face is priceless.

Hi Stanky's mum and welcome.

AFM nothing interesting happened today, did a bit of shopping today. Im just kicking back trying to fight the urge to eat this chocolate that starring at me. Hope everyones had a good day and HI  to everyone i missed.

hello girls!

mummy7 thats is just too weird about ur ds having grass phobia! chels is much better now, but it was always her feet touching the grass that freaked her out. and that is pretty much with everything - sand cant go on her feet and when the dog tries to lick her feet she stresses out. so she is fine on the grass with socks on. im not sure if socks will work so well on the beach, but i hope she gets over it cause we are going on a holiday to hamilton island in 2 weeks for 10 days! so excited!

fertilemertile good luck with ur netball tonight. ur so good for playing this long, i didnt even do anything when i wasnt pregnant let alone when i was

babygiziah thinking about ur ds eating a smail really makes me feel sick, so i cant even imagine what it was like to see it. ew. when my bro was younger he ate a huge bogone moth and when mum found it its legs where sticking out of his mouth wriggling. ew.

stankysmum hello and welcome. also, do u have a cow? is that what "the moo" is?

AFM - im heading out to the shops this afternoon to get some photos printed of dd from granparents and pick up a few presents from dp's niece and nephew. ive been in such a lazy mood this week i cant be bothered to do anything! esp housework. but i guess i better get the washing in and put another load on. :hissy:

hi to everyone else ive missed!

cecandchels LMAO the Moo is Missy Moo she is my two year old extremely overweight black labrador retriever. Im not quite bush enough to be permitted the cow! And have you ever been near one they are huge! Freak me out especially with all that drool and spit. Give me a tempermental sheep anyday LOL:laughing:

Babygizaiah hope you have a lovely night shopping.

Mummy7 we orginally did a mediation though centacare which was a joke. I walked out and told him to kiss my butt lol. He has always been able to spend time with DS but he started getting abusive when I wouldnt let him stuff around with DS routine so I kept all the lovely text messages and took an AVO to get them stopped. Have been once and because the police prosecutor is doing it I didnt have to speak but because he is contesting it we have to go back again. We recently had a court appointed mediation with lawyers involved and that sorted out the visitation but not any child support atm he pays a lousy $50 a month! So im contesting that through CSA. :banghead::hissy:

Kirsten congratulations on the pregnancy and good luck with the birth

AFM Stanky has been a major pita today but he has finally given in to sleep it ended up :rain: on my nappies so not impressed but hey now they are extra clean right? right? lol

Hi all :)

Rohan had a psychologist app today so that was fun NOT. We had to do it by video link up lol. Jayson managed to get the day off so he could come too.

I dropped in to the Dr. and picked up some test results that I'm taking to the Ob next week.

I just realised that I said Stanky was bigger than Rohan. LOL Whoops Rohan was bigger than Stanky, not by much though! *ouch*
