Is Soy Formula Safe? HELP!!!

My little treasure, Aria, is now almost 11 months, and has a dairy allergy. Aria was breastfed for 8 months... she was never happy on the breast but I persisted as long as I could. We introduced her to solids just before 6 months, she took to it straight away and it made her much happier. I then went back to work and we tried her on Infasoy Formula (recommended by our GP), she loved it and then refused the breast and weaned herself from me... :( I have since read some really bad things about soy formula which have frightened me tremendously... Can anyone help me with advice for alternatives to dairy and soy... I am not sure where to go from here...

Soy is fine.
DD1 was on it from 6weeks old. She finally grew out of her lactose intollerance about 10 months ago. She was not harmed in any way from soy. If it was not safe they would not be allowed to sell infant soy formula. Formulas go through the most stringent tests to ensure their nutritional value is kept to a maiximum and comply with all the standards.
