I am getting a little bored with our dinners lately and thought maybe everyone could share their favourite "easy to cook" dinner recipe so I can get some hints...

Cheers:thumbsup:

Ok, this is the EASIEST recipe known to man I reckon

You get:
1 BBQ chook
1 tub of sour cream
1 tin of condensed chicken and sweet corn soup
1 tin of sliced green beans

Pull all the meat off the chicken (making sure you eat the skin before DP gets to it!) then chuck it all in a bowl and mix it together. Stick it in the oven and heat it up, then serve over rice or pasta.

I usually put a teaspoon or 3 of crushed garlic in there too, it's sooooo yummy

Well this mightn't be for kids but is one of the quickest easiest ones i like..

a packet of Trident hot and spicy thai noodles (per 3 sausages)
sausages
brocolli
some chillis

Cook sausages - dice chilis and brocolli - put on noodles with just enough water to cover them add veges and diced sausages and once boiling turn off and leave covered (for about 10-15 mins) until the juice absorbs.

Cook some pasta in salted water. The Vetta 3 minute stuff is great - it's fast and looks like a lot - you get a huge bowl for not too many calories.

Crush a couple of cloves of garlic. and fry slowly over low heat in a tablespoon each of butter and olive oil. You don't want it to colour. If you have any fresh chives, basil or parsely, hack them up and toss them in too.

Give it a few minutes, and toss the pasta through.

A little salt and pepper, and you're done - the best pasta you'll ever eat.

If you really want to get fancy, grate a little cheese over the plates.

the kids have 2 favourites.
1: mashed potato and tuna on toast. - cook and mash potato (or buy instant) mix with a large tin of tuna and serve warm on fresh hot buttered toast. salt and pepper for taste.

2: Belindas potato bake and sauages with gravy. buy a packet of maggi potato bake and follow directions on packet. cook sausages and make a gravy (i just use the home brand gravy mix). throw on a plate and serve.

both of these recipies have less than 15 minutes preparation time and you don't have to be a great cook for it to taste good.

We love easy quick meals too.

We find the magi meal powder things are great in the sachet. You just cook the meat and vegies, add water to the powder, stir it into the wok and your done.

Harira - a lamb stew

chop a red onion, fry in oiled saucepan with a tsp cinnamon and tsp ginger. Toss in half kilo of diced lamb, 750ml vege stock, 1 400g tin of choppe tomatoes. Simmer covered for 1.5 hours, add half cup of red lentils and half cup of long grain rice, simmer uncovered for 20min, add a handful of frozen peas, and simmer until peas defrosted.

THat's how I do it, but the recipe is in a woman's weekly cookbook Meals From the Freezer.
