He he I was going to post the same Q Becca! I want to see about making some PUL covers but haven't looked for a pattern yet. I'll let you know if I find a good one. I'm making some pockets atm that are great but I need some new covers for my flats.
My DD is definately a nappy soaker......
I think a soaker is an absorbent pad (like a booster). I HATE all the stupid nappy jargon :o

A soaker is a woolen nappy cover, handknitted or felted wool or wool fabric. not sure where it comes from, but I guess it helps distinguish from other types of nappy covers.
ok - what you want to make from the hemp is a BOOSTER or and INSERT .. not a soaker...
a BOOSTER (sits loosely inside the nappy- between the nappy and bubs) or an INSERT (which goes INTO the nappy- e.g. into a pocket ) - a SOAKER is a wool cover that goes over a nappy :D
all you have to do to the hemp fleece is cut it to the shape you want... either a rectangle (you can round the corners though) or an hourglass shape (for a booster)
it only needs to be overlocked... - sewing is a little more fiddley... do you have an overlocker??
- oh ... and you can turn it either way out.. I prefer the flat side out... some people prefer the fluffy side..
most boosters are made with three layers of hemp I think??? - but remember hemp needs to be washed at least THREE times before it reached full absorbancy
hope that helps- let me know if you need more info

YOu can also just zig zag sew the edges of the hemp fleece together. That's what I did and I don't have an overlocker. I cut mine into a square of about 30cm by 30cm then sewed up the edges easy.
You can buy patterns lots of places to bubba earth (see link below) or The Wee wuns (http://www.theweewuns.au.com/store/)
Also try the wee wuns shop at Ozebaby (http://www.ozebaby.com.au/)
You can also get lots of hemp material at bubba earth (http://www.bubbaearth.com.au/)
Have a look there before buying the ebay stuff.
You can also knit your own soakers check out www.nappycino.com for patterns and heaps of other info.
