There are a whole heap of bed places on Scarborough Beach Rd - I can't remember which one I saw it in now but one of them had the most lovely wrought iron bed painted antique white - it was like an old fashioned antique but new (obviously) and really lovely.

I looked at it and wished I had a girl :)

Well we never know. Sorry I can't remember which shop - there are about 8 along there :o

It's very much like our mutual friends' oldest's antique bed of that helps.

Ikea has some good stuff . Not too sure what you have in mind exactly, but last year DH and I bought an antique white wrought iron bed for our spare room that is so soooooooooo pretty. Lots of swirls and details in the design IYKWIM (and it was a good price too!).

I too am one that is dreaming of having a girl one day, so hopefully the "spare" bed will be our future DD's bed  :D
