Hello Ladies!
My name is Alison, I've been a bubhub stalker for some time now but don't often post as firstly I can't figure out how to start a thread (sad I know- even though I've read the 'how to'!) and secondly I've been super busy with DS & work so haven't found much time.
However! I have just got a laptop which is super exciting so I can sit in bed (whenever that happens!!) and type yay!:yelclap:
I hope this is the right place to post- please tell me if there is somewhere else I should be
I have brought up the courage to TTC #2 & I am really excited as DS was a lovely surprise so have never TTC before!
Look forward to hearing about how you are all going with your journeys
Thanks for having me :)

Af is not due til the 8th but unfortunately I think she is on the way and no BFP for me this month.
I get these really light pains when I pee - just when you do that light push (sorry if TMI) and since the D & C i always get that during the week before AF is due.
OH I hope she doesn't come.

MegB74- I'd rather wait than have bloods cos I'm not due quite yet if I did O CD12. I'm now feeling :barf:.

I know how frustrating it can be when you have no idea what your body is doing, I found that to be the worst bit. I hope you get some answers soon, be it a BFP or even an O date, that in itself is so exciting when you have irregular cycles. Sending you so many hugs :hugs: :hugs: P.S. before I got my BFP I got some pretty bad AF type cramps and I was certain AF was coming. So please dont count yourself out yet. Sending so many baby vibes your way. xoxoxoxoxox

Hey Kazc, i feel your pain,ff changed my chart to say i had o`d but i had!!!:hair: i got so annoyed that now i have stopped temping and just go by my maybe baby and OPK`s as i was just getting to stressed out wondering why ff kept changing my o date. Although FF is a great site and i have learnt alot from it, i HATE when i changes my chart when i know i have o`d. :hugs: so i dont blame you for being on a downer, it happen to me last month!!!

Katie- thanks for poking your head in, I appreciate it
Maybe1More-thanks for that, DH says FF is full of sh!t and I shouldnt pay attention to it, but its hard when I have so little to cling to in really knowing what is going on with my cycles. I got so excited when FF told me I O'd on CD12 as I usually have a 40 odd day cycle. The waiting game just sux!
flis- I'm with you on not being able to work, look how much I've posted today....and I'm at work :o
Kiahsmum- thank you, I hope this month is it for you too
Bub Hub Rocks!!! I'm so glad I found this site...I've 'met' so many wonderful ladies thru it.:bee:
Hey everybody! So many BFP's already!!!
I've got a couple of days until testing, but haven't had much change in regards to symptoms. Sore chest for the last week, and I have been sleeping alot lately, but that could be due to the gastro last week. I've just started to get slight cramping as well... but i'll keep my fingers crossed!! Good luck to everybody!!

AF not due till sun/Mon/Tues next week but i will test this wednesday (will be 10dpo). i am actually feeling really excited this month. dont have any symptoms (boobs less sore than last month, nothing else i can think of and i am trying really hard to 'find' things though my temp has been really high since o) but i just feel excited. and strangely i think i will be ok if it is negative this month. i just get the feeling bub is on its way soon and am trying not to stress.
though, speak to me again in a few days! lol i will prob be back to the raving crying lunatic i was last month.
how about yourself mitake?

I think we must be about the same. On the 8th (saturday) I will be cd28. Cycle is not exact every month and has ranged from 14 days to 42 days in the past 5 months. (some cervical surgery may have had something to do with that;))
Had two +ve OPK's a week apart(CD 12 and 19) so no idea what is going on here. Have sore BB's and aversion to smells but think my body is trying to trick me. Don't want to get my hopes up yet.
I know I will cave and test before saturday but I never got BFP's with either boys till after 5 weeks so *shrugs* no idea:p

Hey Kazc, chin up honey. Remember FF is just a computer program that coldly calculates your O date by processing numbers and meeting specific criteria. No computer program will ever be able to tell you your O date better than yourself. Keep an eye on your chart because clever little *YOU* can take a lot more into account than a program. See FF as a bit of extra technical help... :geek:
Mrskb, can't wait to see how you go with your testing - GOOD LUCK & lots of :babydust2:
Flis, you have a great attitude - I hope it pays off for you this month! :fingerscrossed:

Welcome NatalieG, what date are you testing?
I'm going to be testing on November 25th. This month, it's just a guess. I've been on and off BCP's for a long time and that makes it hard to know for sure what my natural cycle does.
I'm sorry that you're having these problems... the body can be such an amazing - but also frustrating - piece of equipment, eh? Maybe all is not lost this month?

So we might test on the same day?? Good luck! According to what I know about my cycle, I will O on the 11th.
I feel so many different emotions about TTC. Nervous, excited, anxious, OMG!!! We are actually doing this???? It's taken me a long time to be able to feel at peace and excited about another baby, and to finally be experiencing these positive emotions is bloody fantastic :)
fox_girl
03-11-2008, 21:05
NatalieG - Yay we can be testing buddies. I am not 100% sure that is my day.
But my last AF was on the 4th October, then i got my latest one on 30th October. And i am very regular, i am about a 26 - 28day cycle. So i am either the 25th or 27th November. But i will stick with the 25th November.
I know what you mean about the emotions. I try not to think of it as if we are TTC and just go with the flow, but secretly i am thinking please please please!!! Last night DBF finally warmed to the fact about having a baby. He just stresses about the money situation, i have reassured him many times we will manage, We can afford it otherwise we wouldnt be TTC.
:fingerscrossed: and lots of :babydust2::babydust2::babydust2: to us all.
NatalieG
03-11-2008, 21:16
Oh the money issue.... wow. This is my main stress in life haha. I worry about it as well but when I feel myself getting out of hand and worked up, I have to make myself stop, take a deep breath and chill! As you said - we. will. manage. People do all the time. There are ways and means of making it work. And honestly if we sat around waiting for the "perfect" time to TTC, maybe it will never come. Is there any such thing as the mythical "perfect" time anyway? We want another baby and we will make it work. Yes it might be hard at times ($$ wise) but we will live! I don't want to have regrets in 10 years time and look back and think "We didn't have another baby because I was worried about a few dollars".
Anyway sorry, I am rambling! Not sure if any of that makes sense.
You and I both share the fact we've just come off some form of BC and this is our first month TTC.... so we're feeling our way a bit!

You and I both share the fact we've just come off some form of BC and this is our first month TTC.... so we're feeling our way a bit!
I agree with the $$ 100%.
It is scary to think about, but we make it work, plus i can always go back to work part time, had to with DD so i am not worried about that if i had to.
Hopefully we both get BFP's this month so we dont have to wait and wait.
What BC were you using Natalie?
NatalieG
03-11-2008, 21:41
I was using Yaz, one of the newer BCP's. (I saw somewhere you were using Mirena?) BCP's are not my friend:laughing: I have been on so many of them over the years and they all have horrible side effects. For a while before Yaz, we were just using condoms because I was sick of putting psycho-inducing hormones into my body  So that is really the only recent info I have about my natural cycles and they seemed to be pretty regular 28-day ones. So this is what I am assuming my body will go back to. Perhaps it may take a cycle of two though
I went back to work full-time after the birth of DD and found it incredibly hard. I am a primary school teacher. I'm not sure if I would go back full time again after #2. Perhaps 3 days a week. It would probably work out similar in costs anyway by the time you factor day care into the equation.
fox_girl
03-11-2008, 21:46
Yeah, i had mirena in for 2.5 years. Best thing ever to have it removed.
I am lucky in that i have my mum to watch DD or if bubs comes along and i have to go back to work she can watch it. She did with DD. Plus she lives close to where DD will be going to school, so i dont have to worry about extra travel costs or child care, as i will have to go that way anyway.
My boss might even let me work from home???

Not long till we know now, have you been trying long?
went off the pill after 10 years in april, did pre conception care at naturopath and then started trying in july - and since i was being soooo diligent and healthy etc i was meant to fall pregnant IMMEDIATELY! lol... my cycle is improving and getting shorter every cycle - which i think i put down to the acupuncture i have been having. hopefully i will fall preg soon. my hubby and i have been putting off having babies for so long but something comes up every time - we have been saving for years and years. we are actually go o/seas with our baby money in december/january so hopefully that will be just what i need to fall preg (or with a bit of luck i will already be UTD).
I think trying for #1 sucks enough but it must totally suck trying for #2 or #3 when you know you can already do it!
I just wish there was a gap between 'not really ready' to 'I WANT A BABY RIGHT NOW'

Hello girls, I'm ttc bub #1 and am currently in the two week wait. AF is due on november 10th. I'm not going to test until then. good luck to all, fingers and toes :fingerscrossed: for lots of BFPs this month!
Flis, you have a great attitude - I hope it pays off for you this month! :fingerscrossed:
Thanks PreggySiren - I am all positive and relaxed until AF is due and then i fall apart. though i feel a bit different this month - bit calmer. Still no symptoms so am thinking it will be a negative month for me but my goal this month was to O earlier than last month and i did that so i should really be pleased (day 17 vs day 20 last month). :yelclap: hopefully i can O earlier again this month - i read somewhere you have like over 90% chance to conceive if you O on day 14 or earlier - so bring it on!
i would love it if we could book bubs in. I dont mind the wait if i knew when it would end. if you could say 'right you will fall pregnant in february' i would be ok with that and at least you could enjoy life until then without your 'conception goggles' on!
anyway, i am blabbering :ecomcity::ecomcity::ecomcity:

This is my 1st month seeing when (and if!) I ovulate. I have a long cycle (was 35 days before the pill and now about 38) which makes it hard to figure out where I should be Oing. But I think it's just around the corner at the moment. Nxt month I may just venture into OPKs
If I don't get a :bfp: first of course! :fingerscrossed:

Lots and lots of :hugs:for you Kaz. I hope you are feeling a little better today? It's horrible when you get those down days, and you can't even go have a glass of wine!
Colour me blue. I am only on 11DPO, and AF has arrived. I am worried my luteal phase was so short. I am a healthy person, who exercises regularly, and I eat all the right foods - why is this happening??
Rant over, sorry :crying:

went off the pill after 10 years in april, did pre conception care at naturopath and then started trying in july - and since i was being soooo diligent and healthy etc i was meant to fall pregnant IMMEDIATELY! lol... my cycle is improving and getting shorter every cycle - which i think i put down to the acupuncture i have been having. hopefully i will fall preg soon. my hubby and i have been putting off having babies for so long but something comes up every time - we have been saving for years and years. we are actually go o/seas with our baby money in december/january so hopefully that will be just what i need to fall preg (or with a bit of luck i will already be UTD).
I think trying for #1 sucks enough but it must totally suck trying for #2 or #3 when you know you can already do it!
I just wish there was a gap between 'not really ready' to 'I WANT A BABY RIGHT NOW'
chat soon girls

I think whatever number your trying for is tough. So many emotions. I fell PG with both boys in the first month and now I'm scared that things won't 'work' like that anymore following my op. I guess I'll soon see:p

How are your chickens?

Hey Sparkle!
How long is your luteal phase? You could try taking Vitamin B6 to lengthen it. It has helped a lot of ladies on here. It helped me go from Ovulating on CD19 to CD17 within 2 months of starting it but unfortunately I've had to stop taking it cos it disagreed with my body and made me sick. :(
No one else I've spoken to seems to have had any trouble with it though - just me!! I know that it is the B6 making me sick cos I've tried going off it and I get better and then going back on it and I get sick again. Anyway...try it cos I appear to be the only person in the universe who can't take it! You could also try Vitex as that has also helped a lot of women lengthen their luteal phases.

Aw flis :hugs:
You need to go home this evening, listen to some uplifting music and make yourself a special non-alcohol cocktail...
Any juice of your choice (I choose cranberry & orange), big squeeze of lime, ginger ale over the top and a mint leaf on top. Make sure you put it in your very best glass :flowerz:
Putting it all together will distract you for a moment and it's like having a real cocktail when you're not supposed to!
It's all good honey, we all feel this way sometimes (or a lot whilst TTC!) :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

So I have a question...
How do you all stop yourselves from testing too early? It is so tempting to pee on a stick just in case there might be a line!
A friend of mine bought a bulk pack & went through the whole lot even before AF was due & think I'd probably be the same- I'm a bit impatient & the wait will be so hard I just know it!
What are the tricks of the trade to not test, as DS was a lovely surprise, I was 6 weeks before I tested so there wasn't the anticipation, but this time I know it'll be hard!
sometimes not knowing is easier than seeing a negative early. it makes the last few days b4 af upsetting and stressful which can infact make ur AF late...and then u've got ur first symptom therefore getting ur hopes higher. thats what stopped me testing very early, because that had happen to me a few times, it made the final blow of af arriving even worse.
having said that i got my bfp at 10dpo but i only have a 12 day luteal phase so thats the equivelent to peoples 12dpo!

I haven't had much experience with testing, but I was patient last month and waited till AF was due. The things that stop me doing it are...
If I get a neggy, I would wonder "Did I test too early?" "When should I test again?" "Why can't AF hurry up and arrive then!! :crying:" And would probably waste a lot of HPTs in the process
If I got a +, I would be concerned it might turn out to be a chem preg and wouldn't be game enough to celebrate anyway!
I do admit it is uber difficult to hold off though!
Good luck for tmw morning crafty, ky & meg! Lots of :babydust2::wizard: for you gals!

DP is the reason I dont test early... he says why waste money on tests when it could be too early? Not only a waste of money, but stress too! So if I am thinking about testing, I just have to mention it to him and he says...wait til saturday!

So ill do the dance and do a test in a week or so and hope for some :bfp:!!
I wish you ladies all the best!
take care

Hi Everyone!
Crafty and Meg - so sorry for your BFN's. I know how heart wrenching they get. :hugs:
Well its actually 15dpo for me, and still no AF which is a good sign (although could be the ivf meds that i'm on)
Blood test is tomorrow morning at 8:30am, but wont get the results till the arvo.......its going to be the longest day of my life!!!!
Very very VERY best of luck!! Wow, that WILL be a long day! :fingerscrossed: :goodvibes:

Craftymum, it is never a problem to ask me anything, these forums are here so we can learn off each other! I did IVF/ICSI. Not sure how much you know about IVF? But if not much, ICSI is where they actually inject the spem into the egg to fertilise it. This is because my DH's sperm is not strong enough to get themselves into the egg.
You must be excited about your appointment. I personally found it a big relief to finally be on the IVF path. Finally it felt like there was going to be some control in my TTC, but everyone finds the experience different.
Well heres hoping for pink tomorrow!!!

Ladies,
I am starting to get really confused trying to make sure i get my ovulation days right and when i am most fertile to conceive etc.
One ovulation calculator says from 6th Nov till 11th November with 9th being the day of Ovulation. Another one says 9th Nov till 13th Nov with 11th being the day of O. Another says 8th nov till 13th but didnt give a date for O.
I am so confused. I just plan on bd'ing all these dates... why not???

Congrats to our latest pinkies: babeone and strangefruit. Way to go girls!! All the best for the next 8 months.
Kaz, better put me down the bottom in the "I've got no idea when my body will get itself together" section. Even though I had lots of fertile cm I've been a bit suspicious because my cervix didn't soften. Anyway, I haven't ovulated so I don't know what's going on. It's not really a big deal because DH has been sick for the last few days so it would have been a waste of an egg anyway
mum of lj i found those calculators to not be very accurate for me personally. it told me everything was all over with and then a couple of days after it said i had ov..i got a positive opk. if i had of gone just by the calculator we would have missed the boat.

for me i had some pulled muscle feelings on one side of my pelvis but other than that my body is very unpredictable, but woman swear by observing cervical mucus, apparently its meant to look like egg whites when ur most fertile!! i didnt really get that to be honest tho.
if u and hubby r upto it u can do it everyday that week that ur calenders are telling u. start on the earliest day any of them say and keep going to the latest day. but if ur hubby is like my hubby and ends up feeling pessured by too much of it lol go with every second day :) good luck i hope u catch the eggy.

Babeone - isn't custard only a no go if it is made on raw egg and not cooked?
Was it one of those ones that the custard is baked inside? if so wouldn't that be ok cause the egg would then have been cooked with the custard?

Hi everyone!
A question on luteal phase: Do you find that your luteal phase is always the same length (from what I have read this is supposed to be the case). I am panicking because I O'd late this month and if my luteal phase is my usual 10 days it means AF will arrive next Saturday - my wedding day!!
I have had some REALLY horrible periods lately (fainting, vomiting etc) I was considering going on the pill for this month but I thought I was safe. Why did my body have to decide to change this month???? I am still holding out hope that luteal phase is variable. What have you experienced?
Thanks

I would think it was the same every month from what I've read, but I'm no expert! Maybe the stress of the wedding is delaying your body a little?
I'm not sure, but :fingerscrossed: AF doesn't turn up right on your wedding day - that would be very inconsiderate on her part.
Best wishes for a lovely day :sunshine:

My LP is always the same give or take 1 day - its always 14-15 days..... as its your wedding, is it worth talking to your GP and trying to see what you can do to delay AF considering you have such bad side effects? I have heard that natural progesterone can delay AF or maybe its O? Goodluck for the big day!:flowerz:

Hi everyone!
A question on luteal phase: Do you find that your luteal phase is always the same length (from what I have read this is supposed to be the case). I am panicking because I O'd late this month and if my luteal phase is my usual 10 days it means AF will arrive next Saturday - my wedding day!!
I have had some REALLY horrible periods lately (fainting, vomiting etc) I was considering going on the pill for this month but I thought I was safe. Why did my body have to decide to change this month???? I am still holding out hope that luteal phase is variable. What have you experienced?
Thanks
Just tell AF she's not invited as invitations have already been sent. She probably just wants the free alcohol anyway. ;)

That is awesome news, at least you are feeling sick for a reason. Was it a dark positive? Did you get bad MS in your previous PG??
So excited for you.:yelclap:
I am yo-yo ing along here. BFN this morning and light spotting when I wiped which has stopped now. I just want a BFP or AF(preferably :bfp:)I hate the limbo of waiting:hair:.
So don't colour me blue just yet and not pink either maybe combine the two and make me purple for "no idea"

Congrats again hoping4another ! Wonderful that you got your BFP so quick.
3woofs, commiserations but yep as mrs mov said - I reckon an August baby will be nice too! And I can definitely vouch for a little Spring miracle, if you had to wait another month... my DD was born on Sep 8th 05... by then, it's not freezing cold when you are getting up during the night!
I am totally full of nervous excitement. This is our first month TTC and as of yesterday I entered my fertile period. We bd'd last night and so now that things have started, and there is a chance (even a small one!) that I might get pregnant my stomach has started turning flips!
I know I am going to be a very painful 2ww-er

hi everyone.
KazC - could I be added to the 22nd? Thanks very much.
I am in the waiting for ovulation game like a few others - sometimes I think it's worse that the 2ww - would juts be nice to know what's going on. Have started on B6 and Vitex this month to try and speed up ovulation and lenghten luteal. I was on Clomid last time I was TTC but the silly system over here in the UK this time means I have to see a specialist, which might take another four months! So trying the natural way in the meantime. My FS told me last time that my late ovulation wasn't ideal, and although my cycles are shorter now (about 35), I am still ovulating on day 22 or later, and she told me that you really want less than 20 ideally.... I'm on day 15 now, so fingers crossed for a postive OPK anyday now!
Huge congrats to all those with BFPs so far this month - especially those who have been waiting a long time for their first.
And best of luck for everyone testing This weekend!!!

Hi All,
Well my testing date was today BFN however i think i calculated my dates wrong cos im AF is due on Monday. Its only my first month off the pill i may have not even ovulated yet who knows.

I'm still watching out for the elusive O. Getting on my nerves!
Oh, me too! As it's my first month off the pill I have been really unsure what to expect so I am constantly at the watch for signs. I am trying to keep my willpower together to NOT do another OPK today - I *should* wait until tomorrow but it's so hard.
I feel such a novice at this. I don't know what I am doing  I want at BFP because if I get pregnant now, it will mean that I will spend most of my first trimester in the Christmas school holidays - I am a teacher and would feel so much better knowing that I can puke to myself and not try to hide it from a bunch of 8 year-olds! (I had a pretty sick first pregnancy and while I am hoping the next might be better, I have prepared for it to not be as well).
mumoflj, that's too bad! I hope you and DP have worked out your arguments and are on more... er... friendly terms :)
clm1982 as I said above it's also my first month off the pill and am annoyed that it might mean unreliability about ovulation... but I'm trying to stay excited at the same time. If that makes any sense! If AF is not due until Monday then you're still in with a chance! :fingerscrossed: Good luck for testing Monday!
Please add me in for testing on the 22nd. Thanks.

NatalieG - Thanks for the good vibes. I came home from work and we were in better moods and went out and got some seafood for a nice romantic dinner, a movie and then DP suggested buying DD some baby chickens. So we bought 3 baby chicks 1 week old... I now have 3 new babies....lmao
DD gets back from her dads tomorrow so she will be so excited.
And then when we got home and the sister in law left we BD!!! YEAH :yelclap:... According to some of the calculators today i am very fertile and tomorrow i ovulate.
I have notice that i have been having a discharge, kinda like a muscus (sorry if its TMI) so i am guessing this is the build up to ovulating or the actual ovulating??? not sure but been having pains, like cramping the past 2 days.??? no idea.... AHHHH!!!! :fingerscrossed: its ovulation...

I am sliding closer to the blue shade of things:p. Spotting has continued for 2 days now but nothing heavy enough to mark undies, only when i wipe. Weird cramping too:( Will be calling in tomorrow to be coloured blue no doubt. Talk about a drawn out intro by AF. Never mind I am going to get organised with some opk's and see if I can work them out for next month. Testing in dec will be on my birthday so hopefully that brings :goodvibes:.
I am a teacher too (was anyway haven't returned after first DS. Can totally relate to being sick in the presence of 8yo:laughing:. I used to :barf:in the art and craft sick each morning and disappear during class. They even used to let me eat my vegemite sanga at 10.00 without battering an eyelid once I explained why. Congrats Flis i could see a faint second line. And congrats on the darker line in the second test.
I have something strange going on with my body and its really annoying. I am supposed be o'ing today but when i woke up this morning and went to the toilet when i wiped there was bit of blood (TMI sorry) not red but just pinkish and kinda egg white like, slippery (TMI again). Yesterday, last night and this morning i was having period like cramps in my tummy area. Is this normal for ovulation?? Not sure as never really taken much notice.
Getting all worked up for nothing i am sure, but i hope its nothing unusual... I want to make sure i am ok to BD tonight...

Thanks Nic. Its easier to ask a question here than google it. It was only a tiny bit of spotting nothing major to worry about so i think i will just accept that it is normal and continue on as normal.
What about the cramping and strange fluttering feeling i keep getting?
