Hi
I am a qualified midwife and part of a research group from Griffith University that are seeking antenatal women on the Gold Coast between 32-37 weeks gestation, aged over 18.
We are trying to determine if a woman who experiences a traumatic birth would benefit from working with specially trained midwives, one on one, to decrease the risk/occurance of post natal depression/ post traumatic stress.
Agreeing to participate would mean 2 face to face meetings(at your convenience) and in most cases, at least one follow up phone call approx 5 weeks after delivery.
This project is being run in conjunction with Gold Coast Hospital, and will run for approx 6 months.(till june 2009)
