Hi we have just found out that our daughter has congenital hip syndrome where her ball and socket joint is flat and does not fit properly. we are wanting to hear from anyone else who has experienced this or who has any information. As a result of this syndrome she will have to go to the royal childrens and have an operation where they break and remould her hip with 8 weeks in a full leg cast.

Hi ashtynsmum,

I am 22 and have this syndrome... mine was never fixed at birth and now i have atheritis and constant pain in winter... pregnancy and birth were a nitemare... my spine is constantly out of line and other little problems that i have learnt to live with.

for the sake of your childs future i would recommend having this done. it is a painful thing to live with as an adult, and will only get worse for me.

and on the upside you child will most likely not remember it!

:D

hiya michelle. i'm wondering if you can help me. everytime i walk, my right hip clicks as though its clicking out of place. i have had this for about one year but it comes and goes. im not in pain with it but the clicking seems to be getting louder. im wondering weather its a dislocated hip and what would have to be done about it. im nearly 16 and really worried. i dont want to suffer in later life but i dont know what could be done to stop it. please help!

Hi Charley_05,

Mine doesnt click loud enough to hear, but is generally always out of joint... the main thing i notice other than winter pain is that one leg is always longer than the other but the leg varies depending on what side is out...

I would go to a chiropractor to get it checked out.
