I am dropping in her to tell all of you my experience. My hubby and I have been together for 11 years. His bestie is in a gay relationship and has been for the last 7 years. We offered his bestie and her girlfriend hubbys 'boys' as we knew they were wanting to have a baby. We took about 2 years to get to this point and this year on June 6th (Hubbies besties birthday) they came over to collect hubbies birthday present to them (donation). They took it home and 'made a baby'. It happened on the first go! They are now 23 weeks pregnant with their son and they both glow. It is devine to see. Hubby and I have children together and they understand that yes this is their 1/2 brother but the will just be cousins/friends. I am so glad we gave this amazing gift to this couple. They are so devoted to this pregnancy, the future life of their child and eachother. We could not bear to see them want something so badly when we had exactly what they needed here all along. If you are reading P & D we love you heaps. We are proud to be a part of this babies life and he will be an extreemly lucky baby to have you both as parents.

Good on you and your husband for being so generous & supportive of your friends. How wonderful that they will get to experience the amazing journey of parenthood, thanks to you. I wiish them a happy, healthy pregnancy & birth.

I have some good friends in the same position - pregnant with their second by donor. Beautiful women, wonderful parents. :goodvibes:

Just thought I would give a quick update. Little (or should that be huge) Phoenix Stanley was born on the 5th March 2009 weighing in at 11lb 8oz (yep you did read that correctly) It was an extreemly long labout and in the end he came via cesar. After a small dose of colic he is now doing fantastically and at 2 mths of age he is weighing in at 6.5kg. Mummies are in awe of him and totally in love with both him and eachother.

Thats awesome.

How generous of you to help another couple become a family. It is the most amazing gift anyone can every give.

Best wishes to you and your family - and to the new family too.
