Just wondering if anyone was a member or had any dealings with the friends of the birth centre here in Brisbane. After such a positive birth at the birthcentre at Brisbane royal womans i womans i decided to join. I sent my application and order for merchandise over 7 weeks ago and still have not received anythinhg. I couldnt even contact them in the first 4 weeks no reply to my emails and couldnt reach them on the phone. 2 weeks ago i received an email sying it would
be in the post the next day but still nothing. :confused: After waiting 7 weeks i dont think the singlets i ordered will even fit m baby now.
I stillfeel really passionate about the Birth centre and the wonderful widwives but my lack of response from the FBC has left me feeling really uninspired.

Wow, I hope this was just an oversight and not the usual way things are done :(

My son was born at the same BC but I didn't join.

Could you contact one of the midwives at the BC and ask for a better way to contact the group? Maybe a phone number.

I hope you get your merchandise.

Oh what a shame, I have just started attending the FBC morning teas here on the Gold Coast. I'm due to birth at the GCBC in March.

I hope you get your stuff soon.

Wow, that's a real shame. I get weekly emails from my FBC here on the Gold Coast.

Renee, you will have a really excellent experience with the GCBC. I had DS2 this June under the care of Deanne :D

funny you sould all mention FBCGC. When i couldnt contact FBC Brisbane (in desparation) I contacted FBCGC. Sara contacted them for me and that was when they first replied to my email. I was actually thinking that if i have not received anything by early next week i might join the goldcoast. After their lack of response im not even sure i want to volunteer for FBCB but would still like to advocate for BC care. Disappointing because i had such a positive birth and loved my midwife. I am on the south side so the goldcoast would not be that much further than Brisbane royal. May see you at the morning teas Nae.:)

Oh Jorja thats terrible that it might put you off joining! Come to the FBCGC instead - its a great group! :)
