My dd2 is almost 10months and still a horrible sleeper, especially in the day. She woke at 6am this morning did wake around 2 but reselttled after an hr. Usually wakes aound 4am when I feed her but didnt this morning. Anyway her first sleep today she went down around 8 and had half hr so then went out for a walk feed her and put her back down around 10:30 she had an hr and 15mins had lunch and after an hr was tired again so I let her have a little play and I just put her back down. I was wondering how many other 10month olds have so many naps in the day. I have done everything to get her to sleep longer in the day, day stay, week stay at ellen barron, I have put her down when she starts showing tired signs and have tried keeping her up. She just does what she wants. It's so hard to work around her and her sleeps. Anyway I'm not looking for answers or surgestions to help her sleep as I have done it all. If you read my old post you will see. Just wanted to see what other bubs do. I know most bubs have 2 naps at this age. If she does go to sleep I am sure she wont sleep long and by 3/4 she will be tired again. I just try and go out to pass the arvo.

At 10 months my dd was having 2 naps (and still is) she was a horrible napper during the day and a worse sleeper at night.
She is much better now during the day. She has her naps at exactly the same time every day. 9.30 is her first one, and she'll sleep for about an hour and 15 mins. Her afternoon sleep is at 1.30 - 2pm and then she'll sleep for up to 2 hours. When I put her to sleep she hardly crys, she'll play with the 2 toys in her cot for awhile and then put herself to sleep.
If only her night sleep would improve!

i dont know if this helps but my daughter is only nearly 7months old and already only has 2 naps. she wakes around6.30-7am and her first sleep is at 9am. and only has 45mins, if im lucky a whole hour. so that makes it 10am. i give her a bit of lunch at 12 and put her to sleep again at 1pm (so that when im home alone i get seth to sleep straight after this) for that sleep she has an hour and if im lucky 1.5hours. but she wakes for a feed. but goes back to sleep.
i do make sure shes full. and feed to sleep. i dont know what you do but im just letting you know what i do.
seth at 10months was terrible. only had 2 40min naps and thats it.
even now at 2 hes down to 1 40min nap and he seams to be full of beans after:rolleyes:
hope she starts sleeping better soon
I dont know if it'll make you feel any better hun, by Wyatt only had one day sleep at 10 months of age, he flat out refused to sleep more than once a day.
Maybe instead of putting her down again at 8am, trying waiting her out until 10ish and see how she goes?

My 10 month old has no regular day naps at all  She's never been big on sleep - she'd do 12 hour awake stints as a newborn.
I've just had to come to accept that she's just one of those people who simply does not need as much sleep as everyone else.
On the RARE occasion that she does nap during the day, it's only ever for 20 - 30 minutes.
As I type this my 2 year old is having a nap while Becky crawls around the floor looking for things to get into...
Night times are a little more predictable. She usually cuddles off to sleep with either me or DH, and will wake at 12am and 3am for feeding, then she'll wake again about 6am ready to go for the day again!
Sometimes.... I don't think there's anything to do except to accept that what is, is. It sounds like you've tried just about everything already! As she gets older, it will get easier.
She'll be 15 one day and you'll need a crowbar and high explosives to get her out of bed!

Thanks for the replys ladies. She really bugs me sometimes. Like today had 40mins this morning was still tired I tried to resettle as we wanted to go shopping and of course she wouldn't. Anyway not to bad at shops. Kept her happy with food and then once she was over that put her in the carrier. Anyways falls asleep in the car on way home had about 10mins in car. DD1 falls asleep in car too. DH picks her up and pops her into bed and she goes back to sleep. DD2 wakes screaming I put her in her cot and she windges I leave her and then she is up sitting in her bed so I though as she hadn't had lunch yet and it was past her lunch time I get her up feed her and give her a little play which she just windged so pop her back to bed and guess what she is up sitting in her bed and trying to pull herself up. Oh it's cute as she just started to do this (not crawling yet) but man why wont she sleep. So I am betting when she finally does go to sleep if she does it will be again 40mins. Sorry I am going on a bit it just sh*t's me off. Beth there is no way she would stay happy till 10am. I mean some days she don't go down for a morning sleep till then but thats only if she wakes latter in morning and is happy to stay up that long. Last night she woke around 3am and was up sitting up and playing in her bed at lest she did resettle and go back to sleep herself. Well fingers crossed she goes to sleep soon.

Oh you poor thing,:hugs: i know exactly how you feel. my bub is the same age and until very recently(touch wood)has slept terriblly. i had tried everything too- only i refused to do controlled crying so i never made it to sleep school.
we went to our local day stay and all it did was stuff up his routine, he went from having 2x 2hr sleeps before his day stay to having 3 x40 min sleeps after.:hair: so i used the increase in sleeps to put him to bed later. ( used to put to bed at 7pm)now i put him to bed at 8.30 each night he still wakes during the night once or twice but im happy to BF him at night coz he wont BF during the day, he is still asleep now ( but due up any second)
anyway i thought i would just share what worked for us, every kid is differant but anything is worth a try

Thanks Dallasmum. I gotta try stop posting about her terrible sleeping lol. It just gets me so annoyed some days. She is clearly tired and cranky but either wont go to sleep, like now or has 40 mins. This morning had 45mins and now just playing in there. I went in to lay her back down and she laughed at me. She has been in there 45 so far playing. I give her a little longer and if not sleeping I'll get her up and feed her and I guess she will have to go back down. I feel bad putting her back in and having to spend so much time in bed but what else can I do if she has been feed and is rubbing eyes and cranky up. Ok thats my vent sorry it just really really bugs me.

Just a thought..Does she have a routine during the day? Sometimes it helps when they have their meals and naps at the same time every day. It can take a few days for it to work, so you need to be patient, but it has worked wonders with my DD.
