Hi All

After 12 months of being engaged we have finally decided where we would like to get married & possibly a date. We have chosen January 29th 2010 as that date is our aniversary, we would of been together for 6 years on that day :yelclap:.

So we have decided Fiji, preferablly a beach wedding. We are also going to take My parents, DF's father and his partner and looking at the possibility of taking my Best friend as our photographer :).

We like the idea of getting married on one particular Island/beach and having our dinner, then possibly the next day going to another Island, jsut DF and I as our 'honeymoon'. The other guests can do what they please, whether they stay put or go back to Australia.. purley up to them.

So I am after some oppinions and information..
If anybody has done the similiar thing to what we have chosen, Was it easy to plan? How did you plan it? Is there anything you would change now that you have done it? And any particular Islands/Beaches we should take a good look at (in brochures of course:laughing:) and any other things you might want to share.

I am going to go into the travel agent after work today to see what brochures they have!

Thanks  :D I am getting a little bit excited.. :o

I wanted to wish you all the best for your wedding.
I also wanted to tell you that you have chosen the best date in the year to get married (its my bday) but not only that, there is another coincidence between us, your username and my name are almost identical- eliza and elizabeth.
Its got to be a very good sign.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thum bsup::thumbsup:

We went to Fii in June and are going back in January to the Shangri-la Fijian. While we didn't get married there or attend a wedding, we saw weddings occur most days and they where so well done and beautiful. You have the choice of getting married on a little secluded beach or a beautiful chapel and the receptions where done in a little garden overlooking the sea. We have decided to renew our wedding vows there on our 10 year anniversary, also in 2010.
Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. I emailed a company I found on the web whom replied with maybe choose something else as the prices in FIJI have gone through the roof.. one of her workers did a quote for a couple to have a BBQ and 3 hrs of wine beer and soft drink for their reception... you had to pay for 30 people even if you wern't having that, it worked out to $120 dollars PP

I will definently be going into the shops this weekend to gather some information!! :D
