Birth for me is such a spiritual experience and I'm wondering if it's possible to hire a Christian Doula in Perth, who won't think we're totally nuts when praying and listening to worship songs... we're seriously thinking of hiring a doula but would find it brilliant if she was also a believer.
So... are there any Christian Doulas in Perth, if so please pm me:wave:

I would do it for you, but I'm in Brisbane. As a (trainee) doula speaking, your doula is there for your support and should not comment on your choice of music etc. Though the value in having someone that shares your faith would be of immense help. I do hope that you find someone!! If I hear of anything I will let you know!

Good luck with your search!;)

The Greek definition is "trusted servant" or "woman's servant." Also known as a monitrice, the term refers to a woman who helps a couple through childbirth.

An experienced labor companion who provides continuous emotional support and assistance before, during, and after birth. Doulas have been shown to shorten first-time labor, decrease cesarean section and the need for pain medication, helps fathers participate with confidence, and leads to more successful breastfeeding.

I found that on google :smiliedance:
