View Full Version : Newbie looking for friends and advise on IVF
Hi all
I'm so glad I stumbled across this site. I'm 34 and me and DH have been TTC for 5 years. 7 IVF attempts so far but my poor egg quality seems to be the problem. Hoping to have success one of these days. Look forward to chatting with you all more soon

lilmissymoo - (sorry if I spelt wrong) I will definitely check out the site you suggested. Thanks for replying, it's nice to chat to others who understand as sometimes I think I am going crazy.
Bradys mum - Congrats on cycle no 6. :yelclap: Did you get many eggs each cycle? 5 cycles I have had 6 or 7 eggs of which only 1 has been good enough to implant (2 cycles no good ones). It doesn't seem to matter how much FSH they give me all that happens is that the higher doage makes more follicles but no more eggs. I wonder if higher dosages are over working my ovaries too.

Hi Samsara, I had to EPU's. The first resulted in 21 eggs but only 14 fertilized and 7 were good enough to transfer or freeze. None of these 7 embryo's resulted in a pregnancy. My second EPU gave us 29 eggs, only 21 were good enough to fertilize and only 13 were good enough to transfer or freeze. We have 9 eggs left.
Don't worry about the going crazy part, I went crazy!!!
It is great to chat with others who understand you, please join the other thread, you will get heaps of support there! Take care!!:hugs:

Welcome Samsara!! I wish u all the success with ttc in the world!! Dont lose faith, good things come to those who wait!! I was told when i was 22 i would never have children by 2 different specialists. I proved them wrong last year with the miracle arrival of our beautiful little boy Charlie. Just found out we are expecting again too!! Good luck!! :hugs:

Bradysmum - Before your 2 EPU did you have some IVF cycles with no follicles or was it just the 2 IVF cycles?? Just wondered if your clinic did something to increase your yield.

Samsara, I produced follicles for each one. Don't know why we had no luck with the first few cycles. I ovulate late so I think that might have something to do with it. They usually did my ET's on day 16 or 17, when I got pregnant with Brady, that ET was done on day 20.
Bradysmum, Thanks for that. We're having a few months break but next cycle Dr is going to gradually increase FSH amounts which is similar to nature so something different and we'll see if it makes a difference.

I can't believe at times how much I've had to go through. I'm lucky my DH is sooo upbeat and loving. Sometimes of course that can make it hard for him to understand why I break into tears at the little things and scream like a banshee over nothing but still he's there.
See you around the other threads too.
Love Lx
Welcome Samsara and best of luck TTC
