Hi All,

Well, sleeping was going ok until a few weeks ago. My five month old son was having a bath, and then a feed (falling asleep on the breast) and then sleeping in his cot from about 6:30pm through until 2:30am, which worked ok for me. Then he picked up a flu, and ever since then he has been waking every two hours for a feed. He falls back to sleep straight away, but I am not sleeping so great. I also want to encourage him to go to sleep on his own and not on my boob. I tried to put him down in his cot after a feed instead of letting him fall asleep during his feed and he cried and cried and cried. It took him so long to settle.

Any ideas guys

I have been having the same problem with my 10 mth old for the last 2mths i think. He used to be a good sleeper... would go to sleep around 7 and would sleep right through. But then he started teething and picked up the flu and has been waking 4 times a night since. He normally just has a feed and then goes straight back to sleep.

I dont really have any advice for you as i am still trying to work it out for myself but i just wanted to let you know that your not alone.:hugs:

I had a smilar problem with my bubs of 4mths, However i was bottle feeding. I would put her into her cot then give her, her feed in there so if she feel asleep i didn't have to move her. Maybe you could express some milk and try settling your bub this way.

Not the bottle settling!! we did that n it seemed to work fine for a week.... til she started waking every 2 hrs during the night n would only settle on the bottle after waking!!! (so poor mum n dad only had a few naps all night... for about a week) I know the cry method gets a bad wrap but were up to night 3 n she only fussed for 10min b4 settling, finegrsX she will only wake once tonight n resettle herself again (as she did last night).
