implanon

Hoping that there is someone here who can help, knowing me im in the wrong section.
i currently have the implanon and planning to have it removed in may 09 and ttc as soon as i can. how long do you wait before ttc? i have read you can straight away, others i have read say wait a month or two.
also, what are the chances of falling pregnant with twins once coming off the implanon? does it increase or is it just the same as any other time?

You can TTC straight away.

Anf I don't know about the chances of twins increasing or decreasing... but when we fell pregnant after the implanon, we had twins.

Both times I had the implanon removed before TTC, I conceived straight away, although I never got twins :)

I had my Implanon removed 2nd Jan this year & and have been TTC for 10 months now.

Side note - my first 2 children? I was on the pill & fell preg first cycle off it...

Haven't heard about twins before though?

Hi there,

I went off the implanon in June and am TTC. I was told I could start straight away by my GP and that it only takes a couple of days for the effect of the Implanon to stop working in your body. With both my boys I conceived one on Depo and one on the pill (but I must admit - i may have missed one or two at stages) so they were easy to conceive. This is only cycle 5 - so I suppose it is still early - but it feels like forever. I have heard someone say that twins was common - but havent read anything concrete or why???

PS - I was on the implanon for 6 years (2) and had my period every 28 days while on it with a lot of break through bleeding in between as well!
