Christmas/Housewarming Party

i was thinking since we have had parties for both mother's and father's day maybe we could have a christmas party/bbq thing - and since our new place hasn't had a real shindig yet we could combine the two and have a get-together down here the wkend before chrissy - just thought i'd put it out there early and see whos interested

just wondering if anyone has a problem with their kids havin candy canes???? was thinking of having a candy cane hunt (like an easter egg hunt) - i know it sounds silly but just thought i'd ask anyway - or i could get those softer lollipops (like Lollipops has) so there's no sharp bit for them to choke on - if anyone has any other ideas let us know
