5 month old hates pram

Hi everyone

My 5 month old has just started screaming every time I put him in his pram. He is usually ok for the first 5 minutes, after that he screams until I pick him up.

It is really starting to stress me, to the point where I dont want to take him anywhere. I am new to QLD, my DF is away & I dont want to be house-bound but DS is really getting on top of me.

I've given him new toys, old toys, dummy, sat him up, laid him down - I dont know what else to do. He is getting himself that worked up that it takes me a while to calm him down once I do give in and pick him up.

Has anyone else been through this? I'm hoping it is just a stage that he will grow out of.

Is he facing you or facing away from you? That's the only thing I can think of really, sorry. I hope it improves soon.

My DS started the exact same thing at about the same age.
I'm sorry to say but at 15mths he is no better. To go to the shopping centre the only way I can get him to sit for about a 1/2 hr is to put him in a shopping trolley. I think hef likes being up a little higher so he can see whats going on. Your bub is a bit young but someone suggested to me to hire one of those car trolleys from the shopping centre. That might keep him amused for awhile!

hmm I was thinking alternatives too - My DS has been in shopping trolleys for awhile now (in the seats) I just bought a padded seat cover for him (cleaner and more comfy) - he LOVES it (thinks he is king of the mountain :D )

what about a sling?? or would he hate that too??? my DS loves facing forward in a sling... will happily shop for ages..
