I got a couple of MCN's today to try and a Mommy's Touch AIO was one. I have been trawling this forum, but cant seem to find mention of it?
Has anybody used this nappy before?

I guess i will write this for anybody that is contemplating getting one...
I havent caught a 'day time wee' in it yet, but i can tell you that for DD, no poo escaped at all, and overnight with the hemp booster left absorbancy to spare AFTER 12 HOURS!!!
I spent last night looking up other MCN's on the net (shouldnt have read the websites post) but still felt bamboozled so drove all the way down to the store again to look and speak to a real person.
Anyway...ended up laybying a full-time pack of the Mommy's Touch -with some more boosters.
I like these nappies!

i dont like them. they only have microfibre and microfibre alone can have compression leaks which in my mommys touch they do. plus i have heavy wee'ers and the microfibre alone doesnt seem absorbant enough. i'm not sure if i like the velcro either. i do have other velcro nappies but i dont think the velcro on these ones are that great.

they do fit well though.

Woohoo a reply!!! Was starting to wonder if anybody had tried them at all...:p

I was a bit dubious about the velcro, so i got/am getting the snap ones.
What the heck is a compression leak? (im not that with it in MCN lingo...) Is that when it gets too wet and leaks out the side?
When you say it wasnt absorbant enough, was this just during the day without a booster? I have no idea if DD is a light/reg/heavy wetter... i just know she wets. She seems to hold up better overnight in the MT with a snap in hemp booster than 'sposies.

I agree with you Baby86, I think they are fantastic. I have been using both the AIO's and the Pockets of the Mommy's Touch for a couple of years, and they are the first ones I grab.

I have even gotten 4 hours out of the AIO without any snap in extras, during the day. Yeah sometimes if my son does a massive wee, I might need to change it less than an hour later, but that is like any nappy when they do a massive wee.

I loved that when my boy was a tiny baby the AIO's were the lightest and softest nappy, he could shut his legs with it on because it was so pliable. Now I just grab them because they are quick and easy. I don't use the extra absorbers during the day, but if he might go for a sleep I just grab any absorber, because you can shove anything under the flip out booster. It is great having the snap in ones though because they make it easier.

They are a great fit, and very well made.

There are heaps of popular nappies with microfibre in them, like Bum Genius, Baby BeeHinds All In Ones, and heaps more. Microfibre has its good uses, such as grabbing quick wees, but if your baby wees a lot then it is easy to add some hemp or bamboo to the Mommy's Touch and it will work a treat.

Anyway, that is my opinion. I love them. Love the funky colours as well.

LOL, i had never heard of them until i bought some a fair while ago but havent really seen them around and didnt like them enough to buy some more (i got mine second hand)....

compression leaks happen in nappies that have only microfibre. microfibre is highly absorbant but is prone to leaking when compressed...like when they sit down in a nappy etc. but if they are teamed with bamboo then that stops it happening. i could just boost them with bamboo but i prefer my other nappies.

i'm trying to sell my 2 off at another forum atm.

no takers so far....

Thats the thing, it is all about brands. Nobody talks as much about Mommys Touch because they don't have the advertising budgets, at least that is what I was told when I questioned why I hadn't heard of them before. That is probably why they don't go so quickly when you sell them off.

Some of my friends seem to love the Bum Genius and Baby Beehinds. I tried them both and they are my least favourite. The Baby Beehinds seems too stiff and bulky, and even on my short babies is too short for them. My Bum Genius looked old and tatty after only a few washes, and because you snap down the front bit leaving a flap inside on the small setting, when he was little, don't ask me how, but his bits got caught up in the flap. When I went to pull it off in a hurry, I hurt him. I will never use that one again, I didn't bother selling it because it looks so tatty, and I didn't like how it fitted on him anyway.

So I guess what I am saying, if you love the way the nappy works, then go with it. Who cares whether many people have heard of it or if people say they do or don't like it. I don't like the most popular brands, and love Mommys Touch, so I will use them happily. You say you loved the way this nappy worked, so go with that. I always think that if you are happy to play with your nappy increasing and removing absorbency as needed then it will always work out no matter what brand.

Even Bum Genius wouldn't be as popular if they only had one micro absorber in them, but they are much more expensive also, so really you are just paying for more absorbency which you could easily add to any brand anyway.

I think that makes sense. What I am meaning, is whatever brand you like looking at and using, just go with it and add absorbency if needed.
