Hi Trace,
Sorry to hear Sam's unwell. I heard Dr John on Sunrise say that cough medicine is useless. Plus I'm not sure its suitable for 2 y/o either  Have you tried giving him a warm lemon & honey drink? That might help.

Sorry I cant help any more. :hugs:

I'm usually cautious on dosing DD with medicine if it's not really necessary, but if she has a cough that's keeping her awake I won't hesitate to head to the chemist for a suitable cough syrup. I don't expect it to get rid of the cough entirely or any faster than without cough syrup, but if it gives her some relief for a few hours so she can sleep then it's worth it.

I hope Sam sleeps better tonight :)

Hi Tracey,

Have you got a vaporiser - it usually helps them sleep during the night. It definitely helped me as a kid - and DH & I still use it today (its about 25 years old). But Connor used it last night - and slept straight through (hasn't for about 6-8 weeks).

I find if they get a good nights sleep, they/you can usually function better during the day.

Hi Natalie, yes we do have a vapouriser but its being used in Ethans room and i am not buying another !! I guess when both are sick i just have to choose who needs it more.... definantly Ethan at the moment unfortunately...
Thanks for that anyway
